Will never stay again and will not recommend due to its filthiness. I found an opened half drank soda can in the refrigerator. I saw a fly in the room. Pee stains on the toilet seat and the floor, which I had to clean myself with disinfectant wipes for my family. The sink smelled like a vomit. The surface everywhere was dusty. The bed sheets' cleanliness was questionable and I had to inspect with a flash light. I see stains and some dirt on it and I was afraid of getting bug bites and rashes over night so I slept with my long pants and sweater to avoid touching dirty sheets surface. The shower room especially had cracks all over the place and water damages. It has been a while I stayed in a property this old, filthy, falling apart, and noisy. It's right next to the freeway and noisy. Amenities were poor so I recommend to take your own. Pros: Convenient if you are crossing the border. Breakfast was good and nice to have. Free parking. Elevator for those who need it. TV and a remote. Microwave. Bed mattress was nice and firm.

I have stayed at this property many times. It's the best Best Western I've stayed at and I've stayed at many as an Elite member of their rewards program. The staff is always friendly, courteous and with positive attitudes. As a repeat guest they have gotten to know me and go above and beyond, check-in is simple and quick, they're available when needed and otherwise unobtrusive. The breakfast is one of the better for this type of property, the rooms are always clean, the location is easy access to the highway yet the positioning of the hotel makes it that the rooms are quiet I never hear Street noise or people and the rooms are up-to-date and with quality mattresses. Specifically, Daniel at the front desk has been very accommodating and I am appreciative that he remembers me and my preferences with so many guests coming and going. It makes for the feeling of coming home away from home :-)

DO NOT STAY HERE. Workers are very helpful and polite, don't take me wrong (5 stars for them) Hotel is horrible. Dirty, rooms smell like cigarette smoke. Windows are small so almost no natural light (first floor). I found months old onion ring (see photos) definitely this hotel need renovation. A lot of noise coming from 805 freeway.

I was so sceptical about staying here after reading reviews and then upon waiting to check in I wished there was other hotels available nearby for our stay. When we Check out I'm hoping to be able to edit my review. Well I would definitely give this hotel a zero if it wasn't for the sweet housekeeping lady n location to sesame street theme park. Both day n night hotel staff very unprofessional n rude n the worse was booking a handicap rm n being places in a regular room up stairs n they weren't able to change/fix . And didn't seem to care

Beware of this hotel, It was highly recommended by friends but unfortunately they have horrible management. On Tuesday when we came back to our room there were construction workers outside in the hallway with music drinking alcohol and doing drugs right in the open. We went into our room and it started stinking up with there Marijuana. We came outside and saw the workers snorting drugs, we had our kids with us. We went to the front desk told them of this and they mentioned someone else had complained. He then mentioned they had a big contract with the construction company and they could not do anything. Imagine a hotel that cares more about the profit than the safety of there customers. We spoke with Danny the Manager and said he couldn't do anything he was actually ride about it. That Best Western gives a very bad reputation to all the rest of them. If I were you I would not stay here it is not safe.

Best Western is a know for they affordable prices and great rooms. This location was not the exception, Quiet rooms despite being pretty close to the 805 freeway. The morning including breakfast was good considering is a hotel food. No complains at all, the staff was super helpful and kind.

The room was clean, I didn’t see any noticeable stains on the carpet, the bed was clean, we had clean towels. The bathroom was spotless (and smelled like bleach so I knew it was clean). They provide you with a very tiny bottle of shampoo/conditioner/a bar of face soap & body soap. The chair in the room isn’t the cleanest, but it’s not terrible. The staff aren’t the friendliest but who cares; I’m paying for a clean room, not a new best friend. The breakfast is a buffet which is awesome. Parking is free which is a huge plus ! It’s a bit tricky getting in and out of the hotel parking lot onto the road but if you’re patient, it’s a great location.

I stayed here for one night and even though the hotel was right next to the highway my room was very quiet, the bed was very comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. The breakfast provided was beyond my expectations considering what most hotels these days provide for breakfast. There is a convenience store located right next door and a Starbucks just down the street.

The room was a little small. Not many places to put our clothes. Only 2 very small drawers. We mostly lived out of our luggage. The hotel just needs to be renovated. The staff was so wonderful and super nice! Always smiling and at service. Great employees!

Had a pleasant stay at Best Western Otay/Chula Vista from June 14-19, 2023. Clean room with a comfy king-sized bed, convenient amenities like microwave, mini-fridge, LED TV, coffee maker, and flat iron. The AC unit was a bit noisy, but it didn't bother me much. Towels were clean. A bidet attachment for the toilet bowl would be a nice addition. Room location near the elevator wasn't ideal, but trolleys helped with my bags. Kenny and Hector at the Front Desk were friendly and accommodating. Hotel is close to the freeway, so expect some traffic noise. Conveniently located near convenience stores. Not a 5-star hotel, but I enjoyed my stay here.

Loved my stay! I’ve had a few stays at other Best westerns but this one is the best bang for your buck! They have a full on FREE breakfast every morning between 7-9am and a washer and dryer, gym and as soon as you arrive you can drive right up to the pretty lil lobby! A girl named Cassandra was so knowledable and kind she literally helped me carry things to my room and there wasn’t anything more I could’ve asked for!! My suggestion would be to ask for the side away from the freeway cause it gets a tad noisy but you are also just an exit away from Tijuana Mexico 🇲🇽.. You also have a gas station. And 711 you can walk to in 5 minutes!! I highly recommend!

We found this hotel on google. We went based on the reviews, not what we expected. The water bathtub would stay and was clogged. The rug had a funk smell and it was very noisy. The breakfast was so so the waffles kept getting stuck on the waffle maker even when we added the non stick spray. Front desk staff was not friendly and had a serious face.

Cleaning seems to be a big challenge here. We got a very dirty room with blood stain on floors and bedsheet. You have to tell daily and need to do followup for cleaning if you are staying for more than one night. Breakfast is really awesome here with very good service except weekend when you will not have everything available due to rush if reaching an hour before 9.00AM. The hotel staff otherwise great if you look for any help. The bathroom toiletries are still old fashioned and not replaced with squeeze wall mounted tubes. This need to be done by the hotel management proactively. If you are staying at first floor you will not have windows for views as all windows views is through walking corridor.

Great service and friendly front desk employees. Except for the lady at front desk with poor customer service and negative attitude. Breakfast was well served and well organized. Outstanding breakfast was served by Alex he is so nice person. Overall ,I enjoyed my stay in this hotel

Rooms aren’t cleaned or towels replaced for guests staying for more than one night. Front desk explained that room cleaning has to be reserved on day in advance; however, after following their protocol the failed to perform the service. Finally, front desk explained that the rooms vacated by guests are refreshed in anticipation of a new guest but they can’t get to existing guests. Had I known this I would’ve picked another hotel.

The room is pretty dirty with tons of stains on the carpet. The room service did not even respond. The only thing that I can recommend is that they have good Mexican breakfast. Not going to stay ever.

Great hotel bed, a little stiff or lot shower. Wow, I love it . Breakfast in the morning, no complaints can be crowded, but take it back to the room. If you are looking for fast food, no reason to drive, just walk over Mexican food and liquor store or 8 min walk under freeway burger place and aldi kohl's . Border crossing less 20 minutes. No smoking in the room, but if you're going to smoke, don't smoke near the car. Go out to the wall, and there is a gap under some doors.

We just recently stayed, the pictures you see make it seem like it’s a nice place to stay. Don’t be deceived by them! The rooms were so dirty, the carpets were nasty and so were the walls. There was cracked tile, bathtub drain didn’t work. Multiple outlets not working. Shows hot tub, but there isn’t one. You can hear all the traffic from the road. Other people were completely inconsiderate yelling at 2 am. Definitely never staying here again and recommend you keep looking!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Best Western hotel in Chula Vista/Otay San Diego, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The hotel effortlessly combines comfort, cleanliness, and exceptional service, making it a top-notch choice for any traveler. Upon entering my room, I was immediately struck by its immaculate condition and modern decor. The attention to detail in maintaining a clean and updated room was truly commendable. It was evident that the hotel takes great pride in providing a comfortable and inviting space for its guests. One standout feature of my stay was the breakfast experience. The breakfast offerings were plentiful and delicious, with a wide variety of options to suit all tastes. The breakfast server truly went above and beyond, providing prompt and attentive service throughout my meal. Their friendly and welcoming demeanor added an extra touch of warmth to my dining experience. Overall, the Best Western hotel in Chula Vista/Otay San Diego exceeded my expectations. From the clean and updated rooms to the fantastic breakfast and exceptional service, every aspect of my stay was first-rate. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and enjoyable stay in the area.

It is near to Mexico border and a little far from airport . Rooms are okay and service is also so so . As I requested to clean the room or dustbins and reception guys told me that you should have informed a day before . There was internet and hot water issue as well . Even security deposit return process is slow and I haven’t received it till today and I checked out from hotel 3 days before though two of my friends got their refund . Not sure they are not consistent in service .

I just want to say that I found my lil happy place and I gotta give a quick shout out to Kevin for being a rockstar employee who always has a smile on his face and a warm welcome! I feel like we’re already family! That will keep people coming back time after time and If your planning a trip to Viva La Mexico 🇲🇽 you’re only 1 or 2 stops from the border! There’s also a gym and washer and dryer, very clean and worth every penny! Have fun and don’t forget to stop in between 7-9 for that complimentary breakfast and dining table just don’t put yourself in a food coma cause there’s everything you could ever want!!

Convenient and cheaper option for visiting Chula Vista and Otay Valley. Right next to I-805. Courteous staff. Good 3 hour complimentary breakfast with good coffee, but ends early at 9am. Area seems safe and peaceful. The upper level walkways are noisy, especially with luggage bags and housekeeping carts. I didn't see any bugs/roaches. Nice amenities including laundry room, fitness room, and pool. I checked out a day early and they didn't charge for that day. Comfortable beds and pillows. Convenient mini fridge, microwave, USB ports on desk and nightstand, air conditioner with remote, closet space and shelves/drawers. Desk chair doesn't lift high enough for desk. TV remote works less than half of the time. Sometimes it smells like feet when the heater turns on. The key cards often stop working. Faulty snack vending machine. When you insert coins, nothing happens, and you don't get the coins back. If you put in $2, it will say to enter exact change, then give you back $1 and four nickels.

Night lady seemed annoyed When checking in! Alex was on point with taking care of breakfast taking care of plates when done restocking food fast, positive vibe. Food was good eggs sausage, potatoes, bagels, cereal, oatmeal milk, plenty of protein! Rooms were a 2 need love had rust not enough towels, trash cans! Overall I enjoyed it!

The bed was clean and comfy however the bathroom floor looked liked it was skipped from being vacuumed or sweep. The Continental break is ok . *Please don’t forget any of your computer chargers or cell chargers you won’t get the original back**The side rooms to highway are noisy windows need to be upgraded so pick rooms to right. I will never stay here again

This is the best hotel! Staff is amazing! Kasandra and the other young man that work mid Saturday were very welcoming. He even gave me a goodie bag with snacks and drinks. Breakfast is delicious. I literally set my alarm in the morning to make it on time! The previous General manager was great, however the new GM Joseph is even better! Very friendly! Everyone made me feel as if I’ve known them forever as a family! Thank you! See you all real soon!

The rooms looked super clean, but there was a horrible mildew smell. We just checked out, and I swear I can still smell it. I didn't switch rooms because I was afraid of getting a dirtier room, and we checked in late. Everyone was super nice, area is fair, and the location was perfect. It's just that smell I can't get out of my nose

Staff were rude, the room was mediocre and every day we were there one or both keys needed to be reset - with much attitude from the staff. Elevator out of order, ice machines broken. I'd rate it 1 star or below but my hubby thought the bed was comfortable and he slept well. Located right off the freeway & the noise level was constant.

We were so close to the border it was amazing. The room was big enough for all of us. Nice size beds, we didn't have a microwave to warm up our tacos but it was a great experience nonetheless. We were on the side of the freeway so we could hear the traffic, still we slept like babies. We will definitely be back.

Super amazing stay… nice soft beds and cold ac. The staff are nice and don’t breathe down your neck like other hotels… you get the best privacy and bang for your buck. The breakfast is actually free and so good. I mean, these people have a self operated waffle maker with their logo on it. They really show their gust some love… compliments to the chef. Oh and the beds are nice and soft. 👍💯😊

I came down for my father’s funeral service starting Friday January 28th. I enjoy staying at a best western for my trip’s, but this time it was unacceptable, I called around 1pm the day off while I was on the road to request an early check-in because we were needed at glen abbey mortuary by 4 pm, the gentleman that answered the phone asked what time I needed to check in and I asked at least 1430 - 1500 so my family and I could get ready, he said yes when do that. We arrived closer to 1500 and when checking in I was told that I was not able to check in until 1600 and a gentleman with glasses confirmed. Then the shower handle was broken, tv had no signal and the iron was not working, I called this in the morning of Saturday January 29th around 0745 and the iron has not arrived yet. I use to manage a hotel myself back then and the quality of service for this hotel with the best western flag, sucks….

I don't think it's a two-star hotel I think it should have a higher rating than that. And it's not a five star but it's definitely not a two-star. They got fridge microwave coffee in the room, breakfast in the morning, actually a very nice breakfast. Yeah I'd rate it three maybe three and a half. But my standards aren't as high as most people's. 😂

Everything was great during my stay. It's a little pricey but it's cheaper than the Holiday Inn most days, Definitely best price for quality in the area. Looked to be some insulation issues, maybe some bugs during the Summer time. Hot shower, good breakfast, your car is safe, everything is clean, everyone was polite. Safe 24 hour gas station is basically in the lobby.
