Very Beautiful Lake. Gates open at sunrise and closed at 7 pm. Note : It is closed First Tuesday of each month. There is Trail around the lake. It is around 5 miles. There are picnic tables near the parking area. People can bike, jog, run. Rest room facility, Concession store is there. Boat dock is there . I think people can hire boar. Dogs must be on leash. Bike 🚲 Repair station is there. Really helpful. Portable restrooms are placed on the way of trail. People must carry water bottle. Because the trail is very long.

Great trail for beginners. There are many benches along the way. The total loop is 5 miles. There is a paved walk way the whole way so you can easily ride a bike or roller blade or even drive a car. The view is great and perfect for family even with kids. There are plenty parking spaces or you can just drive along. Highly recommended !!!

Paved trail throughout. Definitely well-trafficked. I got here at 7:30 am on a Saturday and just about managed to find a spot to park. Recommend going clockwise so you can get the shaded areas later. It does get tiring if you plan to jog the whole way, I probably ended walking 1/3 of the route. Keep to the right, get water and sunscreen. Get here early. Chances are, you won't find parking space after 8 am. Good place to go kayaking or hop onto small boats and fish.

It is not only a beautiful lake, but also a very clean lake!πŸ₯° I took my dogs for a walking at Lake Miramar for the very first time. I didn't expect to finish the whole 5 miles walking until a nice breeze cated away all my wearying. πŸ₯° And I bumped into many dog lovers with their cute fur babies! πŸ₯°πŸ₯° It took me 2 hours and 27 minutes to finish the whole 5 miles walking. To be honest, I only took one sip of water! I didn't feel hot at all! I started my walking at 9 o'clock, and the temperature was around 65Β°F. By the time I finished, it went up to 87Β°F. I think next time I will start with one hour earlier πŸ˜‰.

We went around 8.30 am on a Saturday. Though there is a huge parking lot, it was pretty full. However, there are many parking spots on the road. The trail was pretty crowded. The view was amazing through out the entire walk. There were also many wild flowers.

Great spot for walking or running. Five mile loop is scenic, and has gently rolling hills. Parking on a Sunday in the afternoon was fine for me.

The park ranger is extremely rude. Acted like I was a criminal asked me multiple times if I had a warrant out for my arrest... I work at a bank. and told me not to speak. Beautiful location but once I find the name of the ranger I will post another review and I’m contacting the people that run the lake to file a complaint

Really great lake. Very impressed with the owner. Keeps the lake stocked, clean, and family friendly! I only suggest a lemonade stand on the north bank for those extra hot days :)

Nice place to walk or run around the lake. Can do evening picnic, there are lot of benches to sit and chill with friends and family. Bathroom is available near picnic area and around the lake there are multiple pit bathrooms. Boating and fishing also can be done here.

This has been a place of peace for me. I really enjoy running this 5 mile loop and little more if you count walking back to your car. It's mainly asphalt road, some areas of the road of newer. But mainly the road it well maintained. It's a two way road, wide enough for runners, walkers, bikes and every once in a while vehicles. There is a launch pad for boats and kayaks. I use to come here to feed the ducks as a kid and it's fun now being able to bring my niece to do the same. There is a rental shop for bikes and other watercrafts. Bathrooms also available and portable restrooms throughout the trail. I am happy the lake is back open, it's been overly crowded. Some people are wearing masks but the crowds are keeping me away for now. I stop by here and there to enjoy it but I haven't felt secure enough to stay long. And I also don't feel secure enough to run the loop just yet. Can't wait to come back to get back into running here. The view and fresh air is great here.

Paved 5 mile round loop around pretty lake. Lots of ducks and other birds. You can rent a Kayak. Fish for Rainbow Trout and Crappie. No waterfowl hunting here, but it's more of a place to hike, ride beach bikes or recreational bikes. Dog friendly, if on leash. Good place for moms to take jogging or average strollers. Lower trails around lake to jog in less crowded setting, but be cautious on weekdays. Not so crowded, and some weird people seen on that lower trail. Usually peaceful on weekdays, but again, bring your dog if you're a female hiking alone, on lower trails. Avoid weekends if you can't tolerate crowds. And you hate random cars driving on the bike, jogging and walking trail around lake.

I went there on a Saturday, looks like It’s busy on weekends. The lake is nice and there are lot of things to do. Jog or run around the lake, it has like ~5 miles paved track. Great for cycling too. You can do other stuff like boating and fishing. It’s open at Sun rise and closed at Sunset. Tip- There is a natural trail along the lake instead of the paved one; I liked it the most.

Beautiful to have a long walk, biking or running, have a picnic surrounded by nature. It has a big parking lot and if you don't own a bike you can rent one here. Perfect for children to play around

Wonderful spot to relax, walk, hike, run, jog, gossip, grab a snack, rent a boat, rent a bike or just enjoy some dip N dots with a friend. The little store at Lake Miramar is stocked with friendly faces, snacks, fishing supplies and more. The lake is always beautiful to look at making all activities even better. You better get out to Lake Miramar. Enjoy!

Calm and windy place in Mira Mesa with beautiful views of San Diego. There's a five mile asphalt road surrounding the lake which can be traversed by foot, bike or car at 10 mph. There's also a dirt road to hike around if you prefer. Rental bikes are also available. The water is clean blue with flocks of ducks, geese and seagulls everywhere. Overall a great place to come and relax or take a walk.

Beautiful location to spend the sometime. A lot of families/people about for safety. On my visit March 2022: Free parking. Boat launch. Concession (if they're open) Picnic table BBQ Maintained restroom. Paved road around the lake. Portable restrooms on the trail. Fishing - I'd assume standard CA regulations apply. Dogs allowed. Careful Of your puppy paws on the road on hot days.

Out of order bathrooms are a running theme with this place. Went to use one of the port-a-potties as suggested by the posted notice, and was thoroughly disgusted by the condition. I took a picture and sent it to their website.

Very nice and pleasant. Great for running, road biking or walking (5 mile(?) loop). The road around the lake is open to traffic. However, barely anyone drives around it and no one on foot or bike expects traffic. Therefore, not recommended unless disabled (or loves getting to dirty looks). Is is free, too :)

Great 5 mile walking trail/path. No steep inclines (so if you've got asthma, this is a choice path) and easily navigable even with moderate mobility issues. I can't speak to wheelchair accessibility. Clean bathrooms, great views while walking. There is plenty of parking even when busy. No cost.

Nice trail that is well maintained. It is 5 miles around with only 1 main trail. Parking is limited and it's closed here and there so make sure to check ahead of time. Dogs are allowed. Fishing is also allowed but I never see anyone actually catch anything so good luck with that.

Really lovely place for a walk around the lake, especially for those pushing a baby stroller. Paved path/road or dirt on the low path, two options give a different experience. (est 2 hours) Bathrooms & picnic tables on site, not much else.

This is often called Scripps lake. Though I prefer Miramar. It is a very tranquil place to visit there are paths all around the reservoir however be sure that you check the hours of operation before going. Vehicles can go approximately 3/4 of the way around the reservoir however the road ends at a picnic grounds perfect for family or special occasions. Be careful to watch your speed as there are many pedestrians with children. Also, kids will love to feed the ducks near the ramp just as you approach the lake from the entrance road. So bring your old bread and crackers.

Absolutely gorgeous lake! My wife and I decided to do the famous 5 mile walk/run and you had the option to either do it within the nature trail or the cement road. Both options are great whether you’re a runner or just a nature lover. Highly recommend visiting here and taking your dogs and family.
