I’ve been a member at this gym since early 2017, 6+ years. I’ve created a lot of friendships outside of the gym with the staff members from 2017-2021. The Jungle Bar setup outside, when the gym was opened for 24 hours, when the sauna &’ steam room were opened all the time with no issues, these are the reasons I kept my membership. Fast forward 2022 to now March 12, 2023, the gym is not the same. They removed the jungle gym, they are no longer open for 24 hours, they had recently installed a brand new system for the Steam room after the steam room was down for 1 year, &’ yet every other week or less there’s a sign posted, “Sorry for the inconvenience, Steam room is down.” The sauna’s are not even to temp, staff members are younger with little to no customer service experience &’ more attitude. Multiple machines being down for weeks &’ it just seems like they’re just putting a, “Machine pulled a hammy,” sign &’ forgetting about it. Back then when it would rain, the outside gym would be closed &’ if it was sunny the next day they would open it immediately that morning. Now? If it rained one day, the outside would be closed for 2+ days on a clear blue sunny day &’ I’m assuming it’s because the staff needs to move all the equipment from the inside, back outside &’ they’re lazy to do it the following day so they just wait until the next time it rains to use it as an excuse as to why the outside has been closed. I give it 2 stars because they got rid of the jungle gym, they got rid of being open 24 hours which was one of the main reasons I signed up in the beginning, their machines are consistently broken, Sauna &’ Steam are in maintenance 90% of the time, Staff has attitude, &’ I’m sure more issues will arise in the future. Oh, &’ Ron should be the General Manager if he hasn’t already been recommended for the position. Such an amazing, down to earth, helpful, &’ selfless employee. Ron should be recommended for Employee of the Decade for his professionalism &’ continued dedicated customer service to all the members at Chuze since I first signed up. Definitely has the characteristics &’ morals of a Leader. Probably one of the only good things about this gym is having Ron around. GG’s.

I informed the staff a month ago that there was mold growing in the mens bathroom and that it’s unsafe for clients, yet nothing has been done about it. Management should be concerned about the mold because if someone gets sick that is a lawsuit. If this were to get reported to the health department they would immediately be shut down. The cleaning staff is also very irritating. They come in early before the showers are closed and start making lots of unnecessary noise trying to clean. Why do this when they close the showers earlier than the rest of club? Surely when the showers close after that they should have enough time to clean.

This review is regarding the process to cancel membership. It is not easy to cancel the membership at Chuze. You have to write emails back and forth with the "General Info" account. I asked Chuze to cancel my membership via email, I even went as far as giving them my agreement number and stating "you have my permission to cancel this membership". You'd think this was enough right? No. They wrote back giving me 3 options to cancel membership. I never responded to that email because, well, life happens. Anyhow, its January 2022 and my membership is still active and I have not been to the gym since 2020 (don't judge haha). I asked if they could refund some money and they denied my request. Just giving you all a heads up about membership cancellation. I'm still hopeful that Chuze Fitness will re-consider the situation and offer a more equitable solution. I have nothing negative to say about the employees or the facility.

As a prior general manager for another fitness studio, I can say that this Chuze location has it together. The facility is beautiful, ALWAYS clean, friendly staff who always look out for you and even really friendly / chill members. The place is also big enough to make it not seem so packed. Plenty of room between the indoor / outdoor area to stretch and have your own "area" for people who prefer to do their own functional equipment / body weight workouts/stretches. Smells decent too. Nothing is worse than having a gym smell like wrestling match cauliflower ear fungus while you do pushups on the floor. Just saying.

Crowded facility. Waiting forever to get a machine. Also the hiring manager Kelsey D is rude. My spouse had an interview scheduled. Kelsey had her waiting for over an hour even though my wife was on time. Interview never happened. Now won’t respond to emails nor phone calls. Completely ghosted. Unprofessional as heck.

Good overall gym. Only thing I dislike is the shoving of pride month in my face when I walk in. I respect what it is but it is also Men’s awareness month and I see NOTHING supporting men. Supposedly Chuze supports everyone equal but I dont see nothing equal about this.

This Chuze Fitness location has a great vibe from the customers to the employees! Today I had to go in and cancel my membership due to moving with military orders. They gladly waved the cancellation fee for me and got me in and out quickly. Jesus was helpful and kind in the process. Would recommend due to cleanliness, military friendly, and overall a great gym!

Always too packed... updating my review to reply to Chuzes reply. I have been a member since the location opened. I used the facilities often and you had the best hours of operation. My only gym time pre-covid lockdowns was 3am, and since the normal hours haven't been reinstated back, it has made coming to the gym difficult. More time is needed at the gym since there are more people waiting to use machines. More time that I can't spare having a full time job and being a single fulltime mom. So Chuze that's why my original comment is always too packed. Some of us just don't have that extra time needed to wait on machines or the saunas. You guys have clean facilities and that's great, but having to wait more time now than previously had before just kinda sucks.

The place is nice, good temperature in the environment but two details is a strict violation of privacy. be allowed. That the members are taking photographs and videos inside the gym or making live videos and occupying the equipment they are not using, I understand it is a public place but there should be more restrictions. You need a manual scale in the bathrooms, not those digital scales with multiple readings. You have to ask a team member to add a password for something so basic. you just want to know your body weight 🏋🏾‍♂️🤳🏽🤳🏽🤳🏽📸📸📡❌

This place has a good selection for work outs. Always crowded though and most times you have to wait for certain equipment. There is a really nice outdoor area to work out at. The workers are always very kind and always have a smile on their faces.

So far so good, for the first time working out in this gym... Good customer service and a nice family environment. Lots of choices of exercise equipment to choose from and the locker rooms are tidy and neat .. the membership rates are reasonable as well.

Very friendly gym staff, very clean. Although it gets really crowded at times, it’s very understandable because how well maintained this place and equipment is. They also do a good job with having up to date equipment and machines

Great gym, has everything you need for a good lift. Only thing that would make this place MUCH better is adding more squat racks. Like how’re you going to have 25 treadmills but 2 squat racks. I wait and average of 30 min every leg day unless I come at 5am.

It's extremely clean and well kept for such a large and busy gym. The employees really pay attention to the members. Very friendly and great customer service. Everything is very spacious, so it's easy to get around and do what you need to do, whether it's the gym or locker room. The sauna rooms could be a little hotter though.

Honestly better than most gym chains out there. Friendly staff, clean bathrooms and showers, wide variety of equipment, and the people that workout here have all been super chill. I hope they go nationwide soon 👌

I Love Chuze! is the best gym, with the best services, the classes are fantastic. The locations are very convenient, the staff is always friendly and very helpful. The most complete gym and ever, with the very budget friendly prices. The only thing I wish is, the classes schedule would be extended for those who work early and need to get the HIIT workout kicked out before 9am. overall, I prefer Chuze over any other gym in Sab Diego.

They have everything I need… steam room, sauna, locker rooms are equipped with everything needed, the points are helpful and can be used to get rewards, hydro massage, movie theater if you want your workout to go by fast, plenty of machines, outside area, classes, the kids club, and so much more.

This location is cleaned often and the equipment is maintained well. For the best experience and to get in and out, i go to the gym during the day between 10am-2pm on any day. I can get on the equipment that I need when I want it. The front desk team are very nice, genuine, and greet you almost every time. This is my favorite location.

there's not one day where it doesn't drastically stink in this gym. the staff doesn't do any clean or enough cleaning! literally! every day I see a bunch of Employees in the desk or no where. the sauna & steam room especially is the grossest build up bacteria I've ever seen. even Osha would question. it's lmthe build up in these rooms I could tell doesn't get water down. the equipment we have to wipe down the atleast they could do is do the big quipment that the public themselves clean. not to mention this place is wore down. including the massage chairs don't work properly anymore. it's overall run down and dirty.

Been training here for over 2 years now. Clean equipment, nice open spaces and lots of machines.

Love the staff and cleanliness of the gym. My only suggestions would be to get wider zero gravity chairs since I have broad shoulders and it is uncomfortable to sit in those chairs. I would also like to see the gym expand. Mondays are so crowded and it is hard to get a workout in

Very clean gym. I always see workers cleaning and taking care of guests. The kids club is also really great and the girls there are really welcoming to the kids. My I my complaint would be the sauna. It stinks in there and it’s not hot enough. It needs to get fixed.

Love this place! The circuit allows me to get in and out quickly and a great workout. This allows me to be more consistent with self care. Very clean, bathrooms and all.

Very clean gym and great equipment! Staff is kind and helpful as well! It can definitely get really crowded at times but overall a decent gym! You just have to figure out what times aren’t very crowded.

Great gym. Nice people. Worth the money! But don't use the treadmills. They're loud, clunky, and I've slipped several times on them. I'll change this if that issue gets resolved, but that's really annoying that I have to pick the same 2 treadmills in a gym or 35 or so because I'm scared that I'll slip and fall or the machine will suddenly stop and fling me forward. Other than that, zero complaints, and I've been here for 2 years counting.

O.M.Gosh, there's SOOO MUCH I L💜VE about Chuze Fitness. I initially came in on the random to check them out because CLEAN bathrooms and showers (not just swept occasionally) and proper maintenance is SUPER UBER important and VITAL for me and I had just cancelled my membership @ a competing gym because they REFUSE to clean or maintain and give you attitude when you politely ask them anything. It's vital that I not get any infectious medical issues due to having a compromised immune system and I'm also highly allergic to almost every antibiotic so getting an infection from unclean gyms could potentially cost me my life. I frequent the 3rd St location primarily and I'm in & out throughout the day typically and randomly and I'm TOTALLY impressed and appreciative of how your staff highly values cleanliness too. They're ALWAYS working on keeping it CLEAN, not just kept up and they ALWAYS have positive energy and attitudes - it's SO refreshing. I do take the time to let them know I appreciate them and I'm hoping Chuze will choose to let them know how much you appreciate them too. This one young lady greets me every morning with a genuine smile, a positive hello and has amazing energy too. She helps me start my day off with sunshine in my heart. I TRULY appreciate her and the attitude she Chuzes to have. I apologize that I failed to ask/remember her name when I spoke to her this morning to tell her in person how much I appreciate her. Now the other reasons: EVERYONE is genuine when they greet you, they never make you feel like you're interupting their personal time when you need something, they're knowledgeable about gym, equipment, etc, they play a variety of different.udic styles and they don't blare it too loud, POSITIVE ENERGY from staff to clients, inspiring vibes, people who are serious about their workouts, no guys locker room talk in the saunas or around the gym or dudes just trying to hit on you - seriously guys I appreciate that. The whole gym is clean (even the equipment) and it never stinks and they immediately fix and do regular maintenance...oh, and the price is GREAT too. I proudly and happily Chuze to us Chuze!!! I do wish the spa/sauna and bathroom areas didn't play music, however, and that the lights would stop turning off while I'm in the shower LoL On the real though your whole staff @ the 3rd St location in Chula Vista is AMAZING 🤩😍✌️

Great place to come as a beginner on my own. The machines have instructions on them and it's busy of course but plenty of machines. The staff I have met are all very friendly and helpful in explaining the different areas. The air inside is well circulated making working out pleasant.

I’ve been coming to this gym since the COVID restrictions lifted and I really like it. I’ve met a lot of good people, especially the employees. Jovaan was the first one I started talking to on a regular basis and he’s given so much encouragement and advice. He’s friendly to everyone and always handles himself in a professional and calmly manner and answers any questions I have in a way that I understand. Thank you ChuzeFitness

My brother and I have been coming to this gym for about two years now and the staff has always been friendly ! Thank you to the two employees who helped us out with our flat tire right before the gym closed ! You guys are awesome ! I believe one of the guys name was David and I didn’t catch his other co-workers name, sorry !!

Went in for a free week pass. They have a lot of equipment and outdoor area is nice, but only went in once. It was pretty packed but honestly my biggest gripe was the staff. They were kinda douchey haha. Good gym for what you pay and good amenities but I'll pass on a membership here

I love Chuze Chula Vista! Bathroom smells good & front desk very friendly. My favorite are massage chairs & bed! I like the fact members wipe machines after use. The only thing the steam room smells a little musty..Maybe spray a little Eucalyptus in the corners will give steam room a spa experience!

Huge variety of machines to use. Staff was very kind and had great attitudes. At the moment both indoor/outdoor equipment available. MOST of the guests follow the gym rule ;to clean the equipment after usage.

I went in and told the guy at the entrance I need to use the bathroom first and then ill come back to sign in. While I was using the bathroom my anxiety attack kicked in and luckily my friend heard me and went under the stall to get to me and helped. An employee of theirs came in and instead of helping me he said he's calling the authorities my friend told him I'm having an anxiety attack/panic and instead of the employee helping he told me to take my anxiety attack outside instead of helping me. This is the worst experience any customer could have. Also when I was leaving because I wasn't going to have any of that inhuman disrespect, I thought on coming back and making a complaint. The manger kept interrupting me mid sentence when I tried explaining the situation. This is the worst experience I've ever had as a customer at any establishment. Also the main reason I came in today was to renew my membership now I dont even want to come back no more thanks guys.

Ive never seen such a young staff be so professional. The personnel working here truly care about customer service. They maintain a clean gym with constant cleaning. They always greet you when you come in and when you're leaving. What impresses me the most is how much moral courage they have to walk up to ANY member and tell them respectfully to wear their face mask properly. Good job guys!

My whole life I’ve felt intimidated by the gym to the point where I would pay for a membership and not go. I don’t feel that way with Chuze. It’s very welcoming and friendly and it’s someplace I genuinely look forward to going to every day. I highly recommend their Team Training program, it’s like having a personal trainer without the $100/hr cost of one.

I've been attending this gym for years now, ever since it opened actually. It's been interesting how Chuze has been upgrading equipment over the years. I liked what you guys did during Covid making it outdoors. Bad how crowded it got back then. Currently, I like how it's operating. I do hope Chuze , adds more equipment or machines in the future. Specifically squat racks or new machines. IMO I think there's a lot of cardio machines. I notice that the machines near the women's restroom rarely get used (excluding the cable machine), I feel something more useful could replace it there. a dip machine or shoulder one? Also during peak hours, which I tend to get often, I notice there tends to be groups of people just standing at machines. I'm always solo, so I try to get in there do my workout and move to the next. I always see groups of guys or girls hogging the machines, whether it's the cables or worse the squat rack area. I honestly get annoyed seeing so many people just standing there talking like it's a lounge, than training. These type of people flood the floor and make it impossible for others to use those machines. I'm talking 4-6 people here. They don't even look like they're there to train, more to conversate. If only there was more of a way to implement no more than 2 people per machine. I have to improvise and do another exercise for the inability to use the desired equipment. I had my best friend leave Chuze for this same reason. He could never get a chance to use the squat rack. Another rack would be nice. For some reason that area of the gym (squat rack) gets absurdly crowded at peak hours with these groups. Other than that I've had a good experience, it's always clean and tidy.
