I have been a member of the Pura Vida family for almost 4 years and I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon. It is an amazing community of welcoming yogis who thrive on supporting one another before, during and after class. The classes vary in challenge and the instructors are quick to modify poses for ease and difficulty depending on your level of experience. I take classes around the country and I love when I find a studio that focuses on breath above all else -all of the instructors are on-point with breathing reminders throughout class which greatly benefits my entire practice. The cork blocks are also the bomb. I always leave feeling better than I did when I walked in. Wonderful. Welcoming. Warm. ❤️

I really like this studio. It is very welcoming and I have enjoyed most of the classes and instructors. My favorite instructors are the two Nicoles! They are absolutely fabulous and have great energy. It’s worth trying but it wasn’t my favorite studio. Those two instructors make it worth coming back. The receptionist is friendly. Well, there was one time I went and the front desk person wasn’t too friendly but it wasn’t the woman I had encountered the first time. I like that they don’t have mirrors. Who wants to look at mirrors while practicing yoga? The $2 mat rental doesn’t make sense to me but that’s their choice and bottled water is $2. A little overpriced since you can get it for $1 at gas stations. Sometimes I think yoga studios milk people for money because they can. Every yoga studio I’ve gone to before this one had free mat rentals and $1 water and towels. But given the location, it makes sense that they would charge more. They also have a free community yin class and great introductory special, if you want to try it before committing to monthly.

I originally chose this studio because it was closest to my apartment, but I feel so fortunate that I found Pura Vida because it has quickly become my favorite studio in San Diego! I moved to San Diego not too long ago, but everyone, from staff to fellow students, has been incredibly welcoming and has made my heart feel so full with a sense of community. It was the first time I felt that since moving here, so that makes it such a special place in itself! The joy being spread here is truly contagious, and I can spread it to others through the rest of my day so easily after I take a class here. As if that's not enough to keep coming back, the yoga is exactly what I was looking for - and moveover, exactly what I needed. Although I have had injuries, every teacher has checked in with me before class to ask about them, and each one has also offered adjustments throughout the class/asked if I was doing okay when I was visibly struggling with poses. Each teacher has a style that will make you want to try out their class, but in any class, I can always find my breath and find myself going deeper (mentally and physically!). I've really found my practice deepen as we build upon some of the "everyday" poses, where I can learn about the correct anatomy with the guidance of Pura Vida teachers. Still, there's plenty of opportunity to learn about poses which you may not have much experience in or that are completely new to you. There are fun workshops provided here too, so whether you're brand new to yoga or consider yourself a regular yogi, there's so much to learn. Pura Vida makes me excited about yoga all over again, everyday!

Hands down the best yoga studio in San Diego! Each teacher has a different style but will always deliver a solid class. Very professional yet personable. The new student local intro special is amazing~ You can take unlimited classes for up to 14 days for just $29. Such a deal! Even if your vacationing in the area, they have a great deal for $45 which includes 3 classes and free mat rentals. The studio has a small retail area that includes everything you would need for yoga: mats, leggings, tanks, water bottles, towels, incense, and even mala beads. No other studio compares to Pura Vida!

Small studio tucked into the Gaslamp area of downtown SD. Welcoming. Variety of classes and other well-being activities. Room is warm (80ish) and comfortable, but not Hot 🥵 Lots of regulars and a fair number of out of town guests here for holiday or conferences.

Pura Vida Yoga is one of the best studios I’ve ever been to. As soon as you walk in you can immediately feel the calm, welcoming, and easy-going energy all the teachers possess. All of their vinyasa classes take me to my edge and leave me dripping sweat. I would 100% recommend this studio to anyone at any level looking for a new yoga home or if they’re just visiting San Diego.

A wonderful studio with warm and inviting staff. Studio is always clean with a great vibe and energy. All instructors I’ve encountered are great at what they do, knowledgeable, and very friendly. During my first few classes, instructors have gone out of their way to approach me and introduce themselves in a very friendly and welcoming manner. Classes are great for every level. So glad I found this studio!

I started coming to Pura Vida in March 2015 After taking a few random yoga classes. I decided to dive a little deeper in practice and came across this awesome studio. I have taken classes with just about all of the instructors and I love all of them, they each have something different to offer. Everyone is super helpful and nice when it comes to teaching. I tell everyone to try this place out not just for the yoga but for the other workshops they offer . The boutique has lots of useful clothing and yoga related items. Swing by if you're in the neighborhood . I reccomend this studio if you are a beginner like me or a more seasoned yogi...You will fall in Love:) Thank you to all the staff at Pura Vida!

Love this studio! Pura Vida has the most amazing staff and teachers. Alignment and breath driven vinyasa classes, as well as yin and gentle flow classes are available. The teachers here are incredible, and they will no doubt help you deepen your practice. In addition to the regular scheduled yoga classes, this studio always has something going on, such as chakra alignment workshops, glow in the dark yoga parties, yoga retreats, yoga teacher trainings, beach outings, and so much more. Come practice with us!

I started practicing in October after wanting to explore yoga for years. Pura Vida was conveniently close and came recommended. The atmosphere is very welcoming for all levels and there are several teachers which allows you to try different things or build a schedule around the classes you enjoy. The entry deal is really affordable and members get access to additional specialty sessions.
