Took the family here on a Friday evening, and really enjoyed it. Burgers were yummy and the beers and ciders were delicious. They have board games, a DJ and some free Padres swag for the win. It was an amazing family outing, and I highly recommend this place.

Delicious food. If you want the best burger in town- look no further than here. The garlic fries are top notch and the variety of beer is unequaled. Do yourself a favor and take the drive South to Chula Vista- you will not regret it- your welcome

This place never disappoints me they’re burgers are delicious and they have a good selection of fresh IPA’s on draft. The staff was really friendly and made us feel right at home she even told me I could connect my phone to the speakers definitely a top spot for burgers in San Diego

How do you not come here all the TIME. Ugh so so so good. I've always gotten the burger because duh, but how is anyone sleeping on the CHICKEN SANDWHICH. BRO. I dream of it, so juicy so big and legit holds up in that big ole bun in its in. I'm a cheese junky and always add extra American to it because I love for it. Service is clutch, beers are awesome ND overall such a great spot for food, family and friends. Marianna is doing it right let me tell you.

Came here for a mother's day afternoon linner. I've never wandered around this area and I'm really impressed!! Lots of really nice places to wander into. Really solid food. Neat wide selection of beer. Some of the best pastrami I've ever had. I wonder if they make it and the bread in house it was sooo good. Had the Garlic fries with the burger and my only complaint is the fries are a bit expensive. Had an IPA I've never had had and Black and blue Julian cider.

VERY GOOD BURGER. Definitely one of the BEST BURGER spots in San Diego. I tried their Centennial burger and BOTH their garlic and regular fries. It was fantastic. Burger was very juicy with a FRESH brioche bun.

I am loving this place. It's clean, it doesn't smell, the ambiance is nice and relaxed. The low lighting, dark furniture, comfy chairs, and good music make it super inviting. The staff is great, helpful and friendly. Service is quick, and the food is delicious! The beer selection is great, too. Something for everyone. This was Hands down one of the best burgers I've had. And... they're super pet friendly. Definitely recommend.

Garlic fries and the pastrami burger are amazing! Don’t forget your 805 beer or your Julian hard cider (might be spelling it wrong). But great service and great food! With free live music next door! Haha

This place has a good atmosphere and customer service. However, placing some patio heaters could really improve the experience of being sitting outside since finding a table inside might be difficult at times. Other than that, their beer selection and fries are pretty good

Tuesday special; 4 burgers and fries for $39! Great local place for beer and burgers. 2 outdoor patios make it family friendly. Order at the counter. Our runner was amazing in getting us everything we needed, when delivering our order to the table. However- the wait time for burger seemed long. They must be cooked to order! Very flavorful burger and just the right size to fill you up. Pastrami sandwich was loaded with meat. Yummy aoili sauce available and dont miss the large order of GARLIC fries!

The food was amazing. I went there for the balboa makeover of the Double western bacom from Carls JR. and it was so juicy and delicious! The salt & pepper fries were so addicting and the service was really good too. Everyone is so polite and has good vibes. I recommend anyone to try out !

Went to the Balboa for the first time yesterday for lunch during the Chula Vista Lemon Fest. Pretty nice locally owned bar. Really pleased with their Original Balboa Burger which cost $12.55. It's made up of lettuce, tomato, onion, American cheese, and housemade zesty aioli. Very good burger! I look forward to stopping by there again to try the rest of their menu

I love this place so much!! The owners are fantastic and they have the best vibes! All the servers are incredibly amazing. Now the food is a 10/10 we loooove every single burger from here and the drinks are to die for!!! We come at least every 2 weeks and we’re planning on making it a weekly thing!

Hello Chula Vista, what a hidden gem of a spot. The positive is the fact that the female part owner goes out of her way to make sure that y you feel like part of their familia. The food was flavorful, filling, and great tasting. The location is in the heart of downtown Chula Vista. I felt the price point was slightly high. The adult beverages seemed to do the trick. I drank Diet Coke. I did not finish my Centennial burger or my salad. FYI the fries can be their own addiction.

A friend and I went there for the first time. The service is great, everyone was cordial and helpful and very friendly. The food was great and the beer as well. We had the Balboa burger and the Mocha something stout beer. We enjoyed great food and great conversation. We stayed there for a while, till they started picking everything up 😄 and the staff didn't once push us to leave or bother us for staying so long. Great place, will definitely be going back!

Great, relaxing, and spacious. Great tasting burgers, and a decent number of options for beer. The outside could do with a bit of music, but then again, today was a very gloomy and slightly rainy day. Regardless, great spot! Dog friendly! Enjoyed my time, food, and service. Will come again!

Had to try this place out after all the hype. Unfortunately for me the food itself was very tasteless. The patty itself did not have much flavor at all. The garlic fries all you tasted was garlic could have used a hint of salt. The beer was delicious very nice establishment. Just lacking some flavor!

Stopped by for some burgers as I recently decided I would search for the best burger in San Diego.... The environment and service are definitely the standouts at this establishment. Everyone was very helpful and friendly and that always makes for a good experience. The food on the other hand was disappointing. I forgot the names but we ordered a western bacon burger, a double stacked burger and a single order of salt and pepper fries. Both looked absolutely delicious when they were brought out... Unfortunately there was very little flavor in both of them. The highlight of the meal would probably be the salt and pepper fries, although they were slightly oversalted. Overall, a pleasant experience in terms of the environment and staff but will not be returning because of the disappointing food.

Well, I was in the area and my kid wanted some burgers. It was either Balboa South or Red Robin. A solid burger and fries. Must have if you in the area. Skip the big chain burgers

What a fun place to eat. Hamburgers are huge . They have a few options including a vegetarian one house made bean patty. The salt and pepper fries are so good too. Kareoke on Wednesday's. Great customer service.

I'm pregnant and I really wanted a big juicy flavorful burger AND OMG! Balboa South gave me just that! I had a BBQ bacon cheeseburger and added the homemade aioli sauce with a side of salt and pepper fries *chefs kiss* I would have taken a picture but I was too hungry but I'll definitely be going back cause they have made a friend in me‼️

If your looking for a good juicy burger look no more! Their burgers are so tasty even the chicken sandwich is delicious and thats with chicken breast. Fries nice and crispy. My favorite is their garlic fries. Right amount of garlic too so it doesn't over power. The servers are all very friendly and welcoming that you just can't wait to come back. On Tuesdays they have family night where they take out board games to play and eat and they put on disney plus for the kids. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't already.

Great burgers, awesome customer service. Have a very simplistic menu and goof local brews. Definitely gonna stop by again.

Search is over! One of the best burger in San Diego at this price range. Start with the original and you can explore from there. Fries are twice fried, beer selections are good. It can get busy at the restaurant but be patient, they take pride in their food. You will be served with a great burger every time! Available outdoor patio seatings, indoor dinning have pool tables and TVs for sports viewing.
