I believe that a school graduation is a time to celebrate your achievements in school not a time to push your campuses political agenda. Your schools graduation turned into one giant democratic political rally and you did absolutely nothing to stop it. I left early because of how bad it was getting. I just can't support a school who allows it's students to incite violence at a graduation.

Be careful with the counselors, you would find different help and info on each one of them.

What a joke to call this place a school. None of the counselors can pinpoint where you are in your education path and keep making you take extra classes that you don't need. The professors (at least most of them) are very unhelpful and uncaring towards their students. Once again, another institution made to roll in the dough from those who enroll.

School doesn't do enough to keep students safe from high risk individual students who have shown mental instalbilty and quick to anger. Sorry not safe enough switching to online an online University

Southwestern College strives to make the student experience worth the time and effort and expense. Ken Yanow is my colleague in the geographic information systems program and he is innovative, caring, kind, and one of the finest educators I’ve ever known. The campus is beautiful and accessible and I fee that if you pursue your education here you will be very glad that you did. You will be empowered to make the world a better place with the perspectives and skills that you gain.

Got many counselors to talk to and help me plan all my credits and semesters to get to the university I want to get to. All teachers are helpful and understanding with my disabilities as well. I suggest FYE or EOPS if you can, they give book service and quick appointments with counselors. If you have both then FYE won't give you book service, even though they gave my friend both and when he asked them (since I mentioned they only gave me one) they said that we are suppose to receive both but when I asked they said the opposite.

Good luck getting add codes from these incompetent professors. They will respond to you when it is too late to register. Their registration portal says there is room in their classrooms but professors will claim there isn't any space left. Common!

Advisors/counselors treat you like an annoyance, as others have said. They ignore you, they cause you to miss deadlines, and any time you need help, they will transfer you several times until you end up going straight to a voicemail in the middle of the day. If you actually do get help, it's going to take weeks for simple things. Course prerequisites are actually insane. I've never seen such a gatekeeping college in my life. You're charged for health and activities fees even if you're an online student. 2 stars because at least the classes aren't too expensive.

The campus is really nice. Very big, lots of grass. The new football field and facilities are killer. Solar panels, everything. I went here years back and always loved the campus. Had some great profs. Some not so great, but most of them were very good, cool people that wanted you to learn. They have a multi million dollar recording engineering studio if you're into that. Gardens, Auto Tech. And the library is awesome!

Huge improvements have been happening at Southwestern College (SWC) over the past two years, but positive change takes hard work and time. SWC's future is bright. The Main Campus has been discussed so much in these reviews that I will talk about the 3 Higher Education Centers (HEC). HEC National City has an excellent dental hygienist program that is affordable. HEC Otay Mesa has a Nursing Program, and the Fire, Paramedic, & Police Academies. HEC San Ysidro a small vibrant campus where amazing education happens. The students, faculty, and staff at all three HEC locations are outstanding and I highly recommend them. Tip: if you can't get into a class at the main campus, try looking for the class at the HECs; they tend to have more open seats for general education classes.

Sign says there is Visitor parking "V" in lot A, but there are no machines or signs telling you how to pay for parking. You're supposed to magically know that you pay online. Through what app I don't know. It's just ridiculous. Either reserve some spaces for visitors or put some meters or pay boxes, like City, Miramar, Grossmont etc. I guess visitors aren't welcome here.

Worst college website and incompetent office workers ever. School website makes it so hard to register and add classes. When you ask office staff, they just say, "I don't know" and don't try to find out the problem to help you.

Given the fact that I have been here in this main campus for a year, I think I can give a longer than usual review but this might be helpful to you. The campus itself is an amazing place compared to other community colleges in this county of San Diego, where you have the same opportunities if the major you want to pick is the same in any other college in the region, even including the 4 years. As well it now has a new online college catalog where you can find a lot of information on many degrees and certificates; since there are some hidden gems that are just A.S. degrees, but you can easily make 50k+ if you complete certain degrees and make connections with the employers that come here in this campus in certain dates, so you definitely can get an intership even if you're in this college, since contrary to the popular belief that you can't get internships in a community college, you actually can depending on your degree and how useful it is. Moving to another point, there are a handful of counselors that are pretty great, but it is YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY to really be motivated and be sure of yourself on what you want to study, since some people probably will give one star to this school because of this and are just another useless review. And many of the reviews here are basically obsolete, especially the ones older than 2 years, mainly because the staff is always changing and never stays the same.

This institution is very racist both in the faculty and student body. They fail to properly address the issues and are only there to support whoever they deem important. They cover up a lot and only think a public apology is okay. ASO is racist, Administration is racist, there have been too many accounts of racism and negligence they have made an instagram using black face and other racial slurs just to win an election. They have been nothing good for the minority and do any and everything in their powed to justify the injustices.

Trying to get an appt with a counselor is a joke. I mostly attend classes at the SY campus and the woman at the front desk is the MOST unhelpful person I have ever met in my life. How is this terrible woman still employed by this school?!?! Her personality is awful and she truly seems to enjoy telling people some version of no when they approach her for help. Pretty sure her name is Nancy. For the past 2 years, EVERY TIME I have approached the front desk I have had to deal with her. She is always immediately annoyed when someone approaches and I swear to God she actually sighed in irritation when I asked to see a counselor. She seems very bitter towards students and she truly goes out of her way to make your experience unpleasant if you ever need student services at the San Ysidro campus.

So hard to just schedule an appointment with a counselor, I have 2 months back and forth trying to get all they need for me to do this requested my transcripts which I had to pay for, they received them and now I have to wait 4-6 because the petition I filed 2 months ago was received before my transcripts. They make it almost impossible and so frustrating for someone who is trying to get back in COLLEGE!!!!!

They are a scam. I tried to go to school here but it was such a struggle trying to get someone to help me with financial aid, i just left to Mesa College. Now 4 years later they are trying to say I owe them 2 thousand dollars. FOR WHAT? Isnt this a community college? I was trying to take two classes and barely even started when I was fed up with the lack of service and left them. These people are scammers. What community college charges 2k for two classes?

This is a great Community College! They let me take some music classes here when I was in 12th grade at Bonita Vista High School. When I went to a 4-year College, I took dance classes in the summers, & they were very fun. Also, my father taught here for 29 years. He rarely called in sick, so he had enough sick days to cover him for at least half of the school year that would've been his 30th. He wasn't able to return to teaching because of his cancer, but they counted his 30th year as complete anyway. Our family was very grateful that they did that in his honor and, -- for us. It's a great college!

Friendly staff, pizza is usually good, though my most recent experience there will probably keep me from ordering from them in the future. They didn't get the order right, and would only offer to remake the pizza and not issue a refund. Bad policy, you should always offer your customer a choice. One pizza had sauce when I asked for no sauce, the other pizza had lakes of sauce that were not evenly spread. I asked to speak to the manager and was told he only goes there for ten minutes at a time, then while on the phone, he suddenly showed up and the only reason I know that is because I asked if that was the manager I could hear talking in the background. When I went back to return the pizza I was greeted by a very friendly employee but not the manager. This guy must be busier than the president or is really shy.

I spoke with a man named Daniel who claimed to be the Assistant Manager of Little Caesars. I told Daniel that I had an issue with the quality of my food, and Daniel asked if I was sure I had the right location. I assured him I did, and he says that he hadn't heard about my issue before. We further engage in a conversation, in which at one point I asked for the phone number to their Corporate office. Daniel refused. He told me to look it up on my phone. I decided to drive to Little Caesars and was denied the phone number to the Corporate office once again. I recorded this incident on my phone, and I'm hoping the Corporate office takes action. I came to this Little Caesars for years, NEVER AGAIN ! I have video footage of corporate is interested.
