We dropped in for lunch and were very happy with the lunch specials and the fast, friendly service. We got the potstickers to start with in addition to the vegan yellow curry and vegan pad thai. The curry was PHENOMENAL! It was packed full of delicious flavor and features peppers, potato, carrots, and onion. The pad Thai was also delicious and came on a heaping plate. I had to take some home (and I almost always finish my food at the restaurant.) Overall, we loved the restaurant and will definitely be going back for more!!

Giving 5 stars! Sure is one of the best Thai food in San Diego. Ordered the Red Curry, Crying Tiger (grilled marinated beef) and Som Tum… everything is so on point. Great taste! Will come back for more if coming to San Diego.

Visited during covid and we were glad they were allowing dine in on the patio. The food was actually delicious, which is not what you expect when you first see the place. I would give it five stars for food, but they could make more of an effort keeping the place clean. It is not a very welcoming or aesthetically pleasing space to hang out, maybe this is just bc of lockdown. However, the food was really good. The menu is mostly vegan but there are still meat options. We got the Tom Kah soup which is amazing, and the Drunken noodles are great too. Medium spicy is quite spicy so beware! I will come back!

The dining room was small, but quiet during lunch time on a weekday. The service was average but did not take away from the experience. All of the food was so flavorful! I enjoy spicy food so the standard spice level was really good, but be warned if you like things more mild. The vegan curry puffs were my favorite item.

Whenever I am in a big city for business, I always go out for Thai for dinner because I can’t get good Thai where I live. I definitely got my fix at Thotsakan. The small “cup” of Tom Kha soup (see picture) came in a medium-sized bowl for only $5. It was delicious and could easily have been my entire meal. I also got the eggplant entree. All of the entrees and noodle dishes cone with a large bowl of jasmine rice. I requested a spice level of “6” on a scale of 1 to 10. It was not very spicy at all, but chili sauce & red pepper paste is available to ratchet up the heat. The eggplant was beautifully done (I started eating before I remembered to take a pic!) and equally tasty. My only small complaint was that the rice was cold.

Abel and his staff (shutout to Dan) are serving up smiles and genuine affection alongside mamas original spice blends! This is a magical place without a doubt. Wondering if you should try Muzita? DO IT

We dropped by to get take out for lunch, and we found our new favorite thai food place! Although it’s a bit pricey (13 dollars a dish) the food was amazing and the mock meat was really delicious! My boyfriend had the salmon and I had the yellow curry and both were tasty. The service was fast and very friendly and the restaurant was pretty and clean.

We had chicken satay, tom kha hot pot with shrimp, ginger tea, drunken noodle, and mango with sticky rice. All was delicious and is all I normally love about Thai cuisine. The tom kha was more lime, but I'd say I prefered it that way. The 8 out of 10 spicy was more like an upper medium on the drunken noodle, but the flavor was still good.

Food was great and plentiful. A big downside was no parking. Parking structure was expensive. Next time I'll order take out as that is most of their business.

One of the best soup and kimchi I've had so far. So simple yet refined. I'd definitely come back. They even gave my toddler a bowl of rice in their soup for free. A very nice gesture.

Tom Kha is amazing! Last time I had this coconut milk based soup the ingredients were amazingly fresh! The shrimp is the best I ever had. BBQ rib/Panang Neua was great!Pad Thai and Pad Sew are always fresh with great ingredients.Meua Num Tok Rolls are some of my favorites.Farmhouse kitchen never disappoints! Outdoor seating is safe, and this restaurant is by far the best Thai in the city and east bay.

This is one of the best Thai restaurants that I've been to. It's very clean and there is great space inside and out, and the atmosphere inside is serene. Their food is really good (try their Pad Thai w/ Duck and try their Thai Milk Tea. You're welcome.) and they even do takeout. The staff is very friendly and they are very prompt in giving you your order. Go to this place. You won't regret it.

I love a good dry Thai noodle. I was excited to see pictures of one at this restaurant on Google! So, I popped in and the waiter confirmed the Jade Noodle is popular It's called jade noodle because the noodle is green (made with Spinach?) and then it's topped with BBQ pork, crispy pork and duck. Yum! They're generous with the seasoning so there was enough for the whole bowl of noodles to be well seasoned. It's sweet and salty and spicy and sour (from the lime). Overall awesome!!

I ordered the drunken noodles and got the Gerrber version. The noodles were mashed and in small pieces ready for a 3 year old to consume. I could have gotten bad luck and had my meal prepared by a blender but i wont make that mistake twice.

The ambiance was nice at dinner time and the service was attentive. However each of the four diners were underwhelmed by the quality of the food. The duck was extremely disappointing. Very fatty with very little meat. The chicken satay was over- marinated and tough. None of us were impressed with the quality of the food. We would love to have given a better review for the restaurant, but the quality and freshness of the food was definitely lacking.

Not a place to go for those who cannot handle spicy food. The food itself was delicious, the restaurant clean and modern and the staff friendly. However given my weak spice tolerance, the Pad Thai I ordered a 3/10 spicy was burning my mouth. Everyone in my party found there’s to be tolerable and enjoyable; coming back to this place I would order a 1/10, though the meal was good regardless.

First time trying Ethiopian food and I was very surprised at how good it was. We had vegan food, vegetarian food, and normal food:) All 3 options were excellent. Nice selection of beer and wine and the French press coffee was very nice. It's a little on the pricey side if you go with a crowd, but the taste was definitely worth it. And a nice bonus was that they allowed dogs on the patio.

A cozy restaurant serving extremely delicious food. Have plenty of vegetarian options, Inchiras are worth a try! The various options can be overwhelming if you're new to the cuisine, but the waiter went over all the details.Service is great, owner is very friendly and loves explaining their culture. Have both indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is not the easiest but you can find one a few blocks away.

Great Ethiopian food and I’m impressed with heated outdoor seating during this season. Tsebhi Derho is my favourite. Mushroom appetiser is good but I feel it’s overrated. Beggie Kilwa is also good. Might be because of COVID, they’re understaffed. There was only one person to serve all the customers. She was friendly though. But we had to wait for 25-30 mins to get seated even after making a reservation. Apart from these circumstances, food is great.

What a truly amazing dining experience. I can not recommend Muzita enough. We were made felt welcome and truly as guests. The dining experience and the menu was explained to us as we had never been there nor did we know a thing about Ethiopian cuisine. Soon, the owner of the restaurant came out to greet us. What a joy it was to speak with him and to know we were about to dine on recipes that came from his mother. He was so humble and personable. I felt like I was eating at his dinner table at home. The food itself did not disappoint! I wish I could tell you the names of the dishes we ordered, but I can't remember them. We had two dishes (more than enough for two people): one was a beef dish and the other was an absolutely amazing prawn dish. I can tell you that MUST order the mushrooms for an appetizer. The dinner itself is served "family style" in that it comes out on a huge platter and you eat using your hands with fermented bread as your utensil. I also had the best mojito I've ever had. Do yourself a favor: Step out of your comfort zone and visit Muzita. I will definitely be going back.

This place is an absolute gem. I came here for the first time in 2015 and I don't know why it took me 5 years to come back. The food is so flavorful, tasty and plentiful! They also serve pretty healthy sized drinks too.

Unfortunately underwhelming. Kik alicha wot (yellow lentils) so overdone that they were more like a puree. Atkilt wot (cabbage) was so underdone it was like eating a raw head of cabbage. All for $26, really disappointed.

We love Muzita and even when parking is a bit tough, it's 100% worth it. Very friendly service and quaint, casual ambience. We usually start with the spicy red lentil spread with injera!😋 When we go with a bit of a larger group, we'll get sambusas as well. For our entire we often get the chicken platter - Doro Alitcha Kilwa. Plenty of food for 3 people IMO. Skip lunch beforehand!😂 Though the leftovers are really tasty too. There's a lentil soup they keep suggesting I try, and it sounds delish. It's just so hard not to get the dishes we already love.

Ethiopian is my favorite cuisine. I’ve been lucky enough to eat it in many states and countries for comparison. I have to say I don’t get this restaurants hype. The location is nice and the servers did a decent job. The injera was actually pretty good, but everything else seemed wrong. I couldn’t taste any berbere and they didn’t have any of my favorite dishes to choose from. There’s no veggie combo, which is not the norm with Ethiopian restaurants. Even if they did have a combo everything kind of tasted like spaghetti sauce (we got the whole vegetarian menu). Nothing was spicy and there wasn’t that intrinsic, flavorful quality I have come to expect from Ethiopian food. There were no Ethiopian people either which is a warning for me. I did not find the food to be authentic to the cuisine I have had as it lacked the flavor and consistency profiles. If you’ve never had Ethiopian and are looking for a fun spot to try some different food I would definitely recommend here. If you’d like great Ethiopian food, this is not it.

  • 4/5 Vedika J. 4 years ago on Google
This is the best Ethiopian food I have had anywhere. There are vegetarians options on the menu as well! But mind you, it’s a costly place, so be ready to splurge.

Ka Pow with Duck and Summer Rolls. Spice levels are accurate. I got a 6/10 and it was exactly as spicy as I expected. The duck was cooked perfectly and the peanut sauce for the summer rolls was great. Thai food is one of my favorite cuisines and I would definitely come here again.

I don’t say this lightly but this might just be the best Thai food spot in San Diego! Went there for a mid size family dinner (group of 8) and literally everything we ordered was spot on. Pretty reasonably priced considering the Portion size. Do me a favor and give this place a try. I promise you won’t be disappointed. My go to: Tom Yum Soup, Red Sea, and Red Curry with chicken

Excellent vegan mock-meat options for every dish on the menu. It was a great choice for my family where some folks are vegan and other folks like me were in the mood for real Thai dishes with meat. Great ambience and amazing service. Parked in the garage across the street for $20.

The staff were very friendly and the food is alright. The portions are larger but the taste is ok, nothing to take home. At least the pad Thai I had. There's a strong smell inside the place which felt unsanitary. May be they should explore more hygienic options for the sauce tray as that really is out open

Fresh, affordable Thai food in a casual downtown setting. The food is good and service is fast. Great place for a weekday lunch, but get there early as tables fill up quickly. Lunch specials come with a fresh salad and wonderful consomme-like soup. The ginger with veggies was very good with a nice assortment of al dente veggies in a tasty sauce with strips of young ginger. A "5" out of "10" was plenty hot for me. Will probably notch it down to a "4" next time. This would be a great addition to your workweek rotation.

  • 5/5 Isaac K. 1 year ago on Google
This place was great. Even our 18 month old son was eating everything he could get his hands on. Thai food is one of our favorite cuisines, and this place didn't disappoint at all. The atmosphere of the restaurant is casual but hip. The guests and layout can make for a bit of a loud talking environment, but we weren't bothered by it at all. Just typical restaurant chatter, but due to the box style of the building, you can hear most people's conversations even if you don't want to. Parking nearby was a pain in the butt (definitely do not park in the place across the street as it is $30...we parked about 2 blocks away for about $13).

Service was bit rusty, but food delicious and so many vegan options! We ordered pot sticker (slightly overdone) vegan Pad Thai , Spicy Eggplant and Thai vegetables. They were all delicious!

  • 3/5 Sujan 1 year ago on Google
Food was ok but not anything wow as compared to other thai place I visited. Firstly chicken satey was so bland and had no flavors. But Dunken noodles was fine and at least had some good flavors. Three flavored fish was a new experience for me and it surprised me. All those salmon fillets had different flavor and it stole the limelight from other dishes.

Really nice restaurant in downtown San Diego. We had dinner at thotsakan with some friends on a Saturday night and it was delicious. We had the summer rolls which came with peanut sauce, soo tasty. But also tofu pad Thai and chicken pad Thai, the portions are generous and huge. Our friends for the green curries and couldn’t finish. Highly recommend this Thai place if you’re around. The staff was careful and nice.

A delightful restaurant in downtown San Diego, Thotsakan provided us with a delicious dining experience on a Saturday night with friends. We savored the summer rolls, accompanied by a delectable peanut sauce. The portions of tofu Pad Thai and chicken Pad Thai were both generous and substantial. Our friends opted for the green curries but found the portions so sizable that they couldn't finish. I highly recommend this Thai establishment if you're in the area. The staff was attentive and pleasant, adding to the overall positive experience.
