ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO AN END AND THIS IS ONE OF THEM. Farmers Table was a little jewel in East County, since there are no other places like it in the area. There is no gracious way of saying this, but the place is DIRTY. It is actually disgusting. The chairs are falling apart. The upholstery is ripped in all sorts of ways and is nasty: oily, grimy. I did not even want to sit on it. It is not just that the chairs have become old. The wooden blue part of them has not been wiped and disinfected in ages (see pictures). Then there is the glaring evidence that the place is not dusted daily (like any restaurant should) in the chandeliers. They are beyond dusty and cobwebbed, the grease on them has accumulated a few years of gunk. During my last visit there yesterday, all I could think about while I was eating is if this is the face they give to the public, I do not want to know what is happening in the kitchen. There is definitely no daily cleaning. Yuck. So that kind of ruined my meal. Not to mention this is the second time I visit that they do not have my menu choice available. What enrages me a little bit is that I am positive their Little Italy location does not look like this and makes me wonder if this is the standard for East County folk. At this point, I do not know how people keep coming back since the place is packed on the weekends. Are people blind? Do they not care? If I am going to pay this much for "gourmet" food, the experience is part of the price, so at minimum I expect the place to be neat and clean. Not going back. I rather drive a few more miles where standards are higher.

The menu has me super hyped upon first glance, so naturally I order the pear Briscuitta, burnt carrots, stuffed squash blossoms, the short rib entre and the fish entre. It was all beautifully plated unfortunately they all fell short on flavor!!... When I asked for a side of balsamic glaze my server asked me "if I was OK paying for the balsamic glaze", to me I felt like it was rude because I had alone ordered so much food for myself to eat, after I said I was OK she walked away and muttered that most ppl complain about paying for it. Ok whatever, after this she only came over to refill water and asked if we wanted more drinks. Over all I have to say I was disappointed with the service and fact that the meal flavors fell short of what I had hoped for.

Best to share the note I wrote to the manager: “Last December, my business partner and I treated our team to a late lunch at Farmer’s Table La Mesa. I hope that our experience was just an off-day at the restaurant. I rarely post negative reviews but had to do so since I was so upset. See below: “So utterly disappointed with our office lunch at Farmer’s Table in La Mesa. Slow service and when we finally asked for silverware, this is what we got. There’s only 1 napkin so we had to ask again; we got a stack of little paper cocktail napkins. Our wonderful team deserved much better!” The picture is posted on the restaurant Facebook page. I hope things go better for you soon.” Still no response…. You can expect a very loud noise inside; high volume conversation but also clanging of dishes and dinnerware. Street noise and exhaust are noticeable if near the window side. Dark interior in the evening with long waits for food. Simply cannot recommend this place when management will not respond to customer review (was sent in multiple formats). Never again.

Decided last minute to have lunch on Thursday at Farmer’s Table in La Mesa. Parked vehicle in their lot in the back. Got seated immediately without reservation. There were lots of seatings in and outdoor. The tables are very close to each other. If I reach my arm out, I could hug the person sitting next to me. I couldn’t focus my lunch because the couple with a baby next to me. I heard their conversation the whole time I was eating. Not as relaxing as I wanted to have. Took 5 minutes for the waitstaff to bring me a glass of water. And I waited another 10 minutes for waitstaff to come take my order. I ordered a classic Egg Benedict with fried potatoes. Eggs were cooked right but the temperature suggested that the dish was sitting out long before it got delivered to me. The fried potato had an old and dried texture and I had to drown it in ketchup to eat. When waitstaff asked how was my lunch so I told him about the old and fried potato but he didn’t do anything to address my feedback. He should have done something to ensure my return as a happy customer. I felt he was just doing lip services and didn’t care or value my opinion. I really wanted to like this local restaurant but was disappointed about food quality and slow service from waitstaff. Since I am a maximizer, I stopped by the Pink Cafe just across the street from Farmer’s Table for photo ops.

This is my first time at this location and I am very satisfied. Food was good, attention was good the only thing I didn't like was that de the waiter charged extra For The oat milk for my late and an extra for my husband ‘s chai tea without any advice. Other than that everything was good.

My wife and I came down to San Diego during the Labor day weekend and had dinner here to celebrate my wife's birthday at Farmer's Table La Mesa with our son, and it was a delightful experience. As a family-owned and operated establishment, their commitment to quality service and organic ingredients shines through in every dish. Their farm-to-table approach is truly unique and has earned them recognition from various media outlets, including Eater San Diego, KUSI, and CBS News. Their reputation for having a nationally recognized brunch menu with 10-pound Bloody Marys, featured on the Food Network, is well-deserved. But their excellence extends beyond brunch. The dinner menu and wine list are equally impressive, offering a fusion of American and Italian cuisine that caters to a variety of tastes. We enjoyed our meal on the sunny patio, soaking up the atmosphere. The owners, Alberto Morreale and Vincenzo Loverso, are seasoned restauranteurs with a track record of success in the local dining scene. Their expertise is evident in every aspect of the restaurant. The braised short rib was a standout dish, and the pasta dishes were nothing short of delicious. The Ragu sauce was rich and flavorful, and the pasta cooked to perfection. To top off the celebration, we received a complimentary dessert thanks to a Yelp check-in and a mouthwatering lava cake for the birthday celebration. The service was not only friendly but also efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. Ample parking options, both on the street and in the restaurant's back lot, make it convenient to dine here. In summary, Farmer's Table La Mesa is a must-visit for those seeking a memorable dining experience with a commitment to quality, fresh ingredients, and a warm atmosphere. Whether it's a special occasion or a casual meal, this restaurant is sure to leave a lasting impression.

I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Farmer's Table in La Mesa. The Chilaquiles, Short Rib Benedict, and Nutella waffles were absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich, and the presentation was top-notch. The ambiance was welcoming, and the service was excellent. I can't wait to return for another delightful meal!

Farmers Table is an amazing restaurant in LA Mesa. This place has a farmer feel with down south drinks, big portion food and cute nice waitresses to flirt with... And I'm married. This was our 1st time here and we ordered the Salmon, Spinach with this caramelized sauce. My wife has lasagna and our daughter had pizza and truffle fries and mimosas and a Pina colada... But I noticed something... Our waiter forgot my side order of Parmesan Truffle Fries! I even tipped $25.00 for Liniya! The food was so good I forgot about my damn fries so I guess Farmers Table did a great job. LOL
