👍👍 What a great find! Delicious katsu sandwiches that we dipped in Japanese curry. Curry could have been spicier, but it was very satisfying. My boyfriend and I shared the pork and shrimp sandos. People often mention good, bread, chicken, milk, sando, katsu, time, pork, delicious, sandwich,

Let me start by saying that I’m rating this place based on the quality of food, the flavor, and value for money. I would recommend this place for take out. The dine in experience left something to be desired. The service was fantastic but the atmosphere just isn’t there. I would love to see this little restaurant get a makeover because their food speaks volumes. I fed my partner and I for $40 and we got a TON of food. We got 2 sandwiches, 2 large drinks, and an order of fries to split. Their milk bread was toasty but soft and so delicious. The meat had amazing flavoring and crispness. The slaw was super good too. We enjoyed our milk teas, honestly this place is great. I would highly recommend and definitely come again.

What a great hidden gem in Chula Vista. I walked in and was greeted by a kind guy who asked me if I had any questions about the menu. He recommended the shrimp sando which is one of their best sellers. I ordered the chicken sando with wintermelon milk tea with boba. Everything was really good and I devoured my whole meal. The price, portion and quality were all spot on 👌🏽 My only minor critique would be that I don't think I actually got the wintermelon milk tea. I didn't taste melon at all but nevertheless, the drink was delicious. I'll definitely be back to try the shrimp sando!

This is an old review from February, but I really enjoyed the place. It's a family ran business and they're busy, so service is limited, but you can tell they care. The restaurant looks really cool, with pretty murals and decoration. You can order on a pad, although we ordered with the younger owner since we had questions. The food was good, not my best Katsu, but quite decent and great for the price. They seem to make the bread in-house. Katsu itself, the meat was a bit thin and the breadcrumb layer easily came off. Maybe they have better Katsu some other time, but to me that's not good enough. I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt with 5* because I want to support businesses like this one.

I walked in and there was a weird smell in there maybe from the decorations idk.. the woman at the register walked off when I walked in so I had to wait for her to come back before I could order. I ordered the Shrimp Katsu Sando with fries (which did not come with the sandwich). She said they only had brioche buns left.. left? I got there around 1130, they had just opened.. why are they out of things already.. the shrimp Katsu Sando was a lot smaller than it looked on the picture and the flavors weren’t evenly distributed. Some bites were packed with flavors and some not so much. Kind of felt like the sandwich might have been carelessly thrown together. The fries were mediocre at best.. but honestly it was okay. I want to go back and try more of the sandwiches but I’m not in a rush to come back..

Been here more than a few times now and it’s been consistently good each time. All the workers are nice and food is yummy. They have a sign that says they have “the best boba in town” and I gotta say I enjoy it. It has been fresh and soft each time I get it. My fave is their recent addition and that’s the egg sando with either spam or bacon. I’ll definitely be back for more.

No public restroom at this location. Just a sink for you to wash your hands. The coffee and milk teas are super cheap at $3.75. Crafted teas $4, fruit teas $6.50, and smoothies $5.50. The first time we came, we only got drinks. I got the wintermelon milk tea and it was super sweet! I could taste the brewed tea leaves but I feel like the tea is already pre made and all they do is pump in winter melon syrup. My bf got the honey milk tea and same thing. It was tea, milk and drizzled in pumps of honey. You can see it on the side while you mix it but it was super sweet. We came back the second time and got the limited edition miso pork sando ($10.96) and katsu curry pork plate ($12.50). Made it a combo by adding lavender milk tea (+$3) and Vietnamese coffee (+$3). This time, I asked for 25% sweet. It was perfect! We also added fries (+$1.50) and a side cup of curry (+$2.50) to the combo. For a place that’s a so-called fast food sit down eatery, the food was pretty good. The miso pork sando came with 2 pork slice and it came with a side of miso. You can drizzle that on but not too much because it’s really concentrated and can be salty. The red cabbage balanced that out along with the daikon and the homemade Japanese milk bread was a perfect match. It tastes even better with a spoonful of curry on top. Curry taste better with everything like dipping the fries. The katsu plate was delicious. Breading was on point. It came with curry on the side for you to pour on for your liking. I would like to come back to try the breakfast sando.

Was expecting more. Looked like they were trying to train the cook. The milk bread was burnt was hard and dry like toast. The Katsu pork was hard and tough to chew. The coleslaw was dry almost like it was just shredded cabbage. My kids really like this place. Will try again and hopefully they will have a more experienced cook and the food will be much better.

The food was delicious. We had the chicken katsu curry plate. Everything on the plate was great, even the salad that came with it. The curry I would mention was not too spicy but had tons of delicious flavor.

I really wanted to love this but I didn't 😭 I got a spicy chicken katsu sandwich. The chicken itself was very good, but I had a hard time with the bread for some reason. Didn't like the taste of it, I even ended up just eating the chicken and left some of the bread out. The fries were good!

small shop specializing in sandos. I think the brioche bun just slightly edges out the bread bun but it's close. the shrimp sando > pork katsu sando for sure though.

The food is very good for the price. I ordered the Thai tea and the spicy chicken sando. The inside was hot and the time wait was much longer than expected but I believe the food to be worth it. I would come back to try the other menu items that's not their specialties next time.

@ichibansandosd has the acclaimed, "best boba in town." That's quite the statement. I had the try it for myself, of course. Those tiny balls had the perfect texture paired with a honey milk tea with a delicious sea-salt foam. This was my first time trying Korean Street Toast--which are Korean sandwiches on thick french-toast style bread. I'm impressed especially seeing that it's a small restaurant, family-owned, with really unique items. The chicken katsu sando was incredible, the perfect balance of spice for this delicate stomach. It was such a delight, with remarkable prices. Check it out!

Stopped by this little shop across the Chula Vista Mall. Ordered the Kimchi chicken sando, shrimp katsu sando, Large Thai iced tea w/ boba and a regular jasmine milk tea w/ boba. Both the sando's were good and had a nice amount flavor in each bite. Daikon peices were on the side to clean the palate. The drinks had a good amount of boba in the drink and was not too sweet for my taste. Would definetly come back here again to try a different sando or rice bowl.

The sandwiches are amazing and tasty. Also awesome customer services. The cashier was very informative for my first time here. She answered every question and gave me her suggestions on what to order. Definitely Will comeback again. The place is a little cramp inside if you plan to eat inside, as it is such a small building but nonetheless the service and food is amazing and highly recommended. These aren’t your everyday sandwiches. These sandwiches are amazing!!

The spicy chicken sandwich flavor was good but the bread was too dry. It was a milk bun bread. The Hawaiian blend tea tasted weird so I wouldn't get it again but the boba was nice. The decor inside is really cute.

We loved it!! The boba was really good and the egg sando was delicious!! Is a small japanese spot perfect to grab lunch, tea or a breakfast sandwich. The staff is really nice and the place was very clean. We will definitely come back for more!!

I would say you get 2 chicken thigh worth of meat. Plenty of curry and rice (really good). The salad was refreshing and went well with the meal. Curry was thick and mild, no heat. Best part was the chicken, Ultra Crunch Factor.

Really good sandwich! I had the fish sando with cole slaw and sauce, with a side of fries and peach green tea.

This is the ultimate hidden gem kinda place in Chula Vista. Small family owned spot, out of the way, and the food is amazing. The spicy chicken katsu sandwich is spicy but flavorful and doesn’t burn your mouth, the bread is made in house and is slightly sweet, and everything tastes incredibly fresh. Like it was just made for your order. And it’s really reasonably priced. Cheaper and better than any alternatives in the area like Panera or Firehouse.

It was our first time here, and we absolutely loved it. We got their Passion Medley, Roasted Peach Tea, and Wintermelon Tea, it tastes was just as good as its smell, it was very earthy and refreshing. We also tried their Chicken Katsu and the Pork Katsu, both with their homemade bread which was delicious and flavorful. The food is made upon orders, so the meat stays fresh, juicy, and crispy. We're for sure coming back as they have tons of other drinks and sandwich options to try out. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a taste of the goodness of Japanese cuisine.

We went there for dinner yesterday and I'm sorry I just don't understand why everyone is so into this place. First of all I tried to order a fruit tea with no ice and they said they couldn't do it. Is it that hard to not scoop ice into the cup? I wanted to get it so that I would have one for later in addition to the one that I was ordering with ice to drink right then. So they ended up losing out on that money because they couldn't not scoop the ice. My husband got the curry pork katsu plate, My daughter got the chicken katsu plate and I got a pork sandwich on their homemade bread not the bun. Wow. I don't even understand how people think that it's good. I mean it's very crunchy yes. And it's tender. And that's it. There's no taste at all. There's no salt, there's no seasonings. And I mean for either the bread nor the meat. There's some kind of sauce that they put on the bread and some kind of slaw but the slaw wasn't that good it just tasted like it had maybe some kind of vinegar and that's it. I ended up taking my pork out of the bread and just dipping it in some ketchup when I got home. My daughter said that the chicken katsu was tasteless and dry and she ended up throwing the entire plate away. My husband didn't like his pork curry katsu so my daughter ended up eating the pork cutlet. The rest of the plate went in the trash. We won't be going back here. But I will say that the sandwich does look awesome for Instagram. Yay?!?

Tried their chicken katsu sandwich and it was delicious. Crispy chicken, fluffy bread and a tasty side of pickled radish. Great portion for the price. Excited to have a Japanese snack shop in the neighborhood. I'm looking forward to trying out the boba milk teas next time.
