Design of hotel is very cool. Beach is clean and has beautiful sand, water is great. Breakfast was very good, they were trying to prepare variations every day (tho not much options, few basic things were missing). They are offering lot of water sports or trips right in hotel and also spa and massages (fee). There is restaurant and bar right on the beach, that's cool and also another bar right in the pool! Right outside of hotel there is lot of taxi standing and there is alcohol shop and fruit/vegetable kiosk. Then there is several little shops (where you can't find lot of things..) and few restaurants (not the best ones). Staff were very nice & friendly specially Hans at bar. Room looks stylish (but is not very practical). Hotel is surrounded by beautiful garden! Cattle with tea/coffee on room + little fridge + Hotel is playing really nice music :)

Absolutely enjoyed our day visit at this resort. I went with my 2 sisters and we did jet skiing and lunch. The beach is not as crowded as the other places and you can pay for the sun-beds. The food is disappointing so are the drinks but we were there for the view so we weren’t too bothered. This was my second visit and this beach never gets old

Like the vibe of the place. You got accommodation along with or extra services like amazing beach with bar, gym, spa, music parties. You might not leave the place and be happy with your holidays although please do and leave some money inland.

Went for the Full Moon Party and it was overrated. The crowd was decent and the atmosphere and amenities were nice, but the music didn’t get good until 1:30 and the whole thing is such a money grab with 35k entrance plus a mandatory drinks credit card food food and drink at really high prices. Nice cause it’s the only big party place in Zanzibar, but only a 1 time thing.

The hotel is quite fine. It’s big but I was expecting more activities in the afternoons. The breakfasts aren’t offering anything interesting, especially fruits (just 3 kinds). The stuff is very friendly and always helpful but the waiting time for European is shocking. Sometimes up to 20 min waiting only for the menu, not to mention the food delivery. Room cleaning is at this point already funny - beds done, floor wiped but they forget to add new toilet paper and towels etc. The hotel area is very clean (sand) and they take care to keep it that way. Better to pay with their currency and there was no problem to exchange it at the reception (1$ = 2300 shillings). Outside the hotel there are 3 restaurants, alcohol shops - safe to go. Beautiful sunsets 🌴 no problem with finding the sun beds at the beach despite the hour.

The room had all the facilities that were needed. The staff was very helpful and kind. Great service. The breakfast was great with a lot of variety everyday. We also liked the food of the dinner a lot. The location is perfect, with the best beach of Zanzibar. The swimming pool is also very clean. Nothing negative to tell about this hotel

First 🌟 this complex is huge, looks like they've thought of almost everything plenty of amenities on hand to fill your day. On the beach perfect for sun downers to enjoy a cold one Second 🌟 for a great place to vacation. Lots of 3 🌟 PICKPOCKETS, TONS, security is in on it, we reported 2 girls they chose to do nothing. Hold on to your phones bring as little as possible if you do go. I went for the full moon party, (not Thailand ) they have these regularly you would think they would be better organized, long line ups for everything 30 min plus and disorganized, locals cutting in the long cues with out a care and the bar staff catering to their friends first, sickening to watch. This is my second time there just in case the first time was out of the norm. Still wasn't organized, the parking to get there horrible, an hour to get to the gate in the end we had to walk. a couple kilometers Trying to purchase tickets was like a mob scene. You need to purchase a drink card with minimum amounts. That unless you wait in the queue for an hour to try and get your money you didn't spend a lot you lose it. 👎 thumbs down for this place, maybe if you were young with low expectations with plans on going once with your friends fine, I wouldn't be letting my guard with anything specially your drinks and personal belongings.

I would give these two stars for the design of the hotel, large landscape across the beach, greenery and variety of water access (one large pool and a large Sandy beach). But we had quite a bad experience: We booked the expensive bungalow for a family long weekend. It’s quite spacious, wonderful views with a small pool. There was a leakage for two days in the main shower, I had to call twice to get it fixed. Towels were not provided daily, smelled funny, no water bottles provided daily in the room (in a country where tap water is dangerous and we have a child) There was the Full Moon party going on and for that everything else stops. No room services for 24 hours, no one responsive at the beach for any order, had to put my child to sleep hungry because it took them 1.5 hours to get his pizza ready. Insanely loud music overnight, and what really bothered me is the leftover trash of cigarette buds, broken beer bottles and food all over the beach, the restaurant when we went next morning for breakfast. I had to ask for our table to be cleaned. Sad how such a beautiful facility is managed poorly. With no attention to guests rather for pleasing large crowds who come in for one night. Staff are overall friendly, yet poorly organised to take food orders throughout our stay. You need to make the same order twice at least to make sure it’s noted.

Beautiful place, relaxed atmosphere not hassled by staff. Can be slow in service. Pool looked awesome and in partial shade. Good from the restaurant was great. Just take note kitchen closes from 5-7 pm to prepare for dinner. Happy for drinks 4-6

Our stay was great! The food was delicious and also didn’t caused me any food poisoning! 😃 The beach is very beautiful and clean, the sand is extraordinary. The people who work in the complex are very helpful, smiley, of course they are “pole pole” 😀 but I didn’t expect anything else 😀

What can I say about this little slice of heaven! The staff make this place! So kind so friendly and so helpful. Everyone wishes you hello with a smile a "jambo". The food menu is small but the daily specials add a great twist every day and have enjoyed all the food I have eaten. The rooms are clean and have everything you need. But the staff are what makes this place. More than the sea.. More that the views they are hard working humans who try really hard to please. Thank you kendwa Rocks! And massive thank you to all the staff

Went for the full moon party. It was a great time, live music, and good vibes. I did not go into the hotel but the outside esthetic is amazing.

Only been to the beach area, which is ok... a bit too overpacked with sunbeds but the beach is great. Service is good but not impressive Food above average and good variety of choices. Ambient music made want to stab myself in the ears.

Hello, overall the hotel was enjoyable, and the location is excellent. The beach is one of the best, with no noticeable tides. However, the hotel staff stole a child’s shoes right before our eyes. The child was in tears for two days and had to go on a morning sea excursion wearing sneakers. Regarding the food, it’s worth mentioning that it’s very monotonous, the same every day.

Amazing location for the beach. I went to take a bed to lay by the sea, cost $10. Drinks are extremely delicious. The place has WiFi and you can ring the bell for the service to come to you to take the order. And it's the best beach in Kendwa.

A beautiful place full of potentials but it could benefit from a better/stronger management! The beach is absolutely gorgeous and I loved all the wooden natural structure and design. The rooms were very nice and clean. The main issue here that needs more improvement is the customer service and management/training of staff. Staff should learn how to smile from Remmy and Vincent. The only two servers that greeted and served us with a welcoming feeling. When we first arrived the first thing we noticed that there were no welcome drinks (we had welcome drinks every single place we stayed before). Then at the check in the reception staff was very blunt so it didn’t make a great first expression. Nothing was explained how it works, which is not the staff’s problem. It’s a management issue. Lack of communication between staff and kitchen or just lack of training again. There was a steak salad on the menu. We ordered it. Nobody told us that they didn’t have/run out of salad..so they brought us a bowl of steak and cheese and tomato (nothing wrong with a huge bowl of steak by the way :) but we wanted salad. That’s what we ordered. So we called the server, then another 2 people came when finally the third one admitted that they had no arugula/rucola. This whole thing lasted for an hour. This should have been avoided if the server tells us at the beginning. They solved the problem getting salad from somewhere. Then other times someone took our order but the kitchen was closed so we waited 1.5 hours…I gave them 4 stars because the staff do try to resolve these issues (and they do fix them it just takes time) I would definitely separate smoking and non-smoking sections on the beach. It’s very unpleasant for those not smoking to inhale cigarette smoke . Also, the sand is full of cigarette butts and other trash. I also haven’t seen any managers/supervisors who would check on things and dealt with these issues. If Kendwa prioritize staff training and have more supervisors they can raise the value of the stay!

I can just say 5 stars. The whole complex is amazing, it is secure, the food is good, the service is responsive and understands English on a very good level. We met the manager - amazing professional that is at all times doing his best to provide once in a lifetime experience for all the guests. Next time when I come to Zanzibar I will stay here for sure!

This is one of the best resorts in the north of Zanzibar and the north has the best beaches. The beach has white sand and when it is low tide the water does not recede far from the shore. There is a restaurant on the beach with many sections to sit and relax. There is a pool as well for those who do not feel for the sea water which is close to the beach. The resorts on the north of the Island is more expensive than on the south but the beach experience makes it worth while.

After one of the tours we visited Kendwa for the sunset and to grab a bite at the beach. Although it was just burgers and pizza it was an overall pleasant experience having drinks and food at the beach welcoming the sunset. Would recommend.

The place is drop dead gorgeous 😍. Just next to the beach, prepare yourself for the best sunset while enjoying their amazing and affordable cocktails. Also you will find two spots to take some really good pictures here.

If you're looking for a good positioned hotel with nice rooms this is ideal. The breakfast had a good selection and the location of the hotel is literally 200m from the beach. There's Ac in the room and tons of storage. Only thing - there's no shampoo in the room so bring your own

Starting with the positive The hotel rooms are definitely a 5 very clean and spacious, the property itself is very well Kept as well. The breakfast had a good selection on food. The beach here is absolutely stunning. The food at the restaurant is just ok and so is the service, you almost have to chance down the servers to get service. The bar was very unorganized even though there was a lot of staff behind the bar they would take forever to serve ppl, and definitely skip over black ppl to serve the white and white This was very disappointing to say the least. Also cocktails are not good so we mainly stuck to beer and wine. The only reason I don’t give this place a 5 is because of the Service.

The location is great. Breakfast was good enough. We stayed there in February 2023 for three nights. From the first night the shower has problem. They replaced the shower the next night at 23:00. Next day all the hotel has no water so we make shower with a bottle of water. First night we have a dinner at the restaurant and asked for the recipe but they never gave it to us

Location is great, right on the beach. The food was good, but the desert (mango tart) was very dry and the cappuccino a little dissappointing (however this is not traditional in Zanzibar, and rarely found). Staff was friendly so overall an enjoyable experience.

Everything perfect, yummy meals but be careful coming here to eat the dinner. Came there at 6:20pm but they only allow you to order from 7:00pm. Had to wait but luckily there was a happy hour on drinks

We stayed 6 days in this beautiful resort. The whole resort area is full of palm trees, trees and flowers and its located in the beast beach in Zanzibar. Our first day when we arrived to the beach we found really outdated sunbeds but they've replaced them with new ones on our 2nd or 3rd day which is just what this resort was needing. Food in the resort is amazing. We had half board and we loved the a la cart dinner. Breakfast was very poor though. Resort has its own small souvenir shop and couple od bars. Swimming pool was small but clean with very warm fresh water. Rooms were great and very spacious. During our stay resort seemed half empty and there were plenty of sunbeds to choose from at any time of the day. All in all we had an excellent stay and looking forward to come back sometime in the future.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my wife and two kids. The hotel is very welcoming with a good location, professional staff. Their rooms are quite spacious, clean and well maintained. Variety in the kitchen and restaurant. Its a nice place to access the clean Kendwa beach and various watee sports

The hotel is great , it’s clean and the rooms are actually very nice . The food is also good . Just the service is lacking . This place needs a new manager . It’s not possible for a hotel not to have shampoo , not to have blankets .. I don’t care paying more , but just provide the service . In Tanzania where service is brilliant you guys need to really level up . Otherwise you loose business .

The beach loungers are a bit too close together. Other than that, a nice place to chill. We're not accommodated here, so can't refer to the rooms. The main kitchen was closed, so we only had burgers and pizzas as options. We chose the fish burgers and they were amazing, also, served with very good fries (not british style thick chips). The beach is fantastic. Soft coral sand, one of the best beaches I've ever been to. Tourists and local sellers are omnipresent, but not overwhelming. Four stars for the main kitchen closure, but nothing major. Really, 9/10 points total. Really good place.
