Loved the atmosphere and the service. Such a unique place where you can explore some of the old remnants of the firehouse. Unfortunately, the food didn’t meet our expectations. My spaghetti had way too much pepper. The green beens have a tomato sauce that takes from their flavor. The rest was okay. The only thing we thought was really good was the eggplant. The sauce for the spinach truffles was yummy, too. The server said it was an experimental menu so maybe be we went at a bad time.

We had an amazing meal! The service was top quality and our server Adrian was on top of everything and very knowledgeable about the menu and recommendations! The atmosphere was very warm and romantic and the cocktails were a perfect addition! Will definitely be coming back for another date night!

Had a great evening at Battalion with colleagues. The restaurant is really unique -- a former firehouse converted into a restaurant gives it a really cool look and feel, plus there is a fireman's pole so you can look down from the second floor. Pretty cooln I was really impressed by the fresh food and large wine selection. I would absolutely recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a nice evening somewhere unique and slightly upscale.

We loved the ambiance and service at this restored firehouse turned Italian restaurant. Everything from the bread service and appetizers to drinks and homemade pasta were great. As an added bonus, the area overlooks downtown San Antonio and the Tower of the Americas.

The hostess was friendly and greeted us upon arrival. The restaurant itself was sophisticated while relaxing at the same time. We loved the way the menu was laid out. Our waiter was knowledgeable and helped us order just what we needed. The bread was great. We followed it up with what are without a doubt the best meatballs I've ever had that came swimming in a delectable tomato sauce. Afterwards we shared an amazingly rich pasta and spinach dumplings that were to die for. We ended it with a tender, juicy, hearty chicken parmesan. My only complaint was that the upstairs dining area was noticeably warmer than downstairs. The drinks were good too.

A trendy spot for Italian. Overly done in chic design but the food is great. Staff is very professional and helpful on what to order. Great wine selection. Parking is tough if you don't want to pay, especially on a busy night.

We ordered all over the menu and not one bad dish! Highlight was the spinach dumplings, we actually re-ordered. Service was top notch! The pork chop was second best, can't recall the sauce but it was tasty. Had a great dinning experience here, highly recommend!

This was our first time here. Waiter and staff were super knowledgeable. Food was excellent. I had the wine and it was exceptional. The mixed drinks the others had were also good. The salads are a good choice. I had the steak and for an Italian place it was very good. The restaurant is in an old fire station and the mood lighting is red. Not sure that works. You sort of feel like your eating in a bar or dance club. They cook the food on the 2nd floor. The place it not big. They have outdoor eating space.

The goat cheese pana cotta was creamy, flavorful and delicious. The meatballs were really squares. The spinach dumplings were just the right amount of spinach flavor. The noise level in the building was high and with the added music made it difficult to carry on a conversation when at a large table. Overall a good experience and the setting in the firehouse added to the experience.

This place was out of this world good. From the food to the cocktails to the atmosphere it served nothing but 5 stars! Sara, our waitress was top notch, not only her service but her personality. I would recommend this place to anyone!

We wish we would have know about this experience earlier. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by friendly hosts and seated promptly. You may want to grab a reservation. Sara, our server, was friendly and walked us through the meal portions and ordering suggestions. We ordered the Bibb salad (enough to share), the meatballs (don’t leave this place without trying them!), the spinach dumplings (5star) and the melt in your mouth lamb chops. Their tiramisu and house drinks were also a must! Enjoy!!!

We had a reservation for 2 at 6:35pm. The reservation process was really easy on google. We were seated right away on the second floor. This used to be an old fire station so they kept some elements like the sliding pole. Charlie was our server and help us through our dinner. We got wine tasting before choosing our glass and got suggestions since it was our first time here. The menu style is different since everything is á la carte including your entrée sides. The downside is that I this restaurant is portrayed as an upscale one, but I saw people in shorts and flip flops, staff not knowing the plates or how to serve them, wobbly marble top tables or supper heavy dinnerware. We had to exchange the panna cotta because it was bland and tasteless. It has good decoration and delicious food, but I think is a little bit overpriced for the experience they offer.

Outstanding food from start to finish. Great sharable portions so make sure to order multiple things and can taste more that way. Service is great and just the fact it is a converted old fire station is unique but makes it really work. Great wine list.

The side dish of roasted carrots was the highlight of my meal! Order these carrots!!! The portions are a bit small since they planned for guests to order from each section of the menu. The meatballs were pretty good, a bit on the dry side but really good flavor. There is outdoor seating but it was chilly that night so we ate inside. My friend ordered the Burrata, it was good but I think it would have been better grilled and warm. The lasagna was spicy such I liked.

Not happy about the parking and the paid parking area is expensive. Wish they had a better selection for alcohol. The food is absolutely delicious though! The bread and garlic olive oil is amazing! The spinach dumplings and lamb chops as well. The chicken Parmesan was okay, lacking in flavor. Brussels were yummy! The larger pieces could have been cut.

This past Sunday was my mothers birthday and she wanted Italian food for dinner. We decided to go to Battalion, located in a restored firehouse in downtown San Antonio. This restaurant offers a menu built of family style Italian dishes and awesome cocktails. We shared 2 appetizers, 2 pasta dishes and one main course for 3 adults. The portions for each plate feeds 2 people and everything is made from scratch. Overall this was a great dinner and the best part was my mom enjoyed every single moment at this establishment. I recommend to check it out

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What a delightful dining experience at Battalion Italian Restaurant in San Antonio! My colleagues and I were in town for a conference and had the pleasure of enjoying a meal here. The food was absolutely delicious, and the ambiance was just the right blend of cool and cozy. But what truly stood out was the incredible value. A meal for three that would have cost us three times the price in Miami! The service was impeccable, and the energy in the restaurant was infectious. We left with smiles on our faces and a promise to visit again. Battalion, you've won our hearts! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great food in a fun atmosphere! We had the most enjoyable group dinner here. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. My favorite with a pistachio dessert that was so decadent! I will definitely be back!

My husband and I walked into this bar for a Friday night date and it did not disappoint. We walked and were immediately greeted by the hostess and asked if we had a reservation (we were not here to eat, so we asked if we could just sit at the bar). Then, we met Alex, the bartender. Alex was so great, and patient with me as I asked him if he could help me find a classic martini that I might enjoy. He was so informative and took time to help me understand what I was ordering, and explained everything in a way that didn’t make me feel like an idiot. I enjoyed a vodka martini straight up with an extra twist & a slightly dirty vodka martini. We also ordered a slice of the tiramisu, and I have thought about how absolutely perfect that dessert was for 3 days. I cannot wait to return to this spot for a dinner reservation!
