Wow is all i can say from start to finish. Location was a must for us as my cousin was diagnosed with terminal cancer and walking long distance was an issue and he always wanted to go to Killarney as he had only ever travelled there as a delivery driver. Shane and Jackie were married at Christmas and never had a honeymoon so we made this trip their minimoon 💝 We couldnt have picked a more nicer Hotel for them. The rooms were so tastefully decorated with plenty of sunlight and views.Wow is all i could say. The welcome we got was so lovely, the set up of the hotel and breakfast area seperate to the bar was so well arranged and we felt right at home there. The breakfast staff couldnt have done enough for us and the set up was A1. Everyone we met looked after us so well, the food and bar staff were so experienced and worked so well together. They really looked after us so well and we cant thank them for that enough. It was clear to see it was a family run respectable business and they also looked after their regular customers so well which was lovely to see. I work as a healthcare assistant in a hospital and had no break over covid and this was my first time away since covid started and i really needed the break and you provided the peace and rest i needed. We cant thank you all enough for making a lovely memory for my cousin and his new wife. Caroine and Noel Hackett. Shane and Jackie Smith.

Mr. McSweeney and his staff were outstanding hosts. In my opinion, this place is the best place to stay and all of Killarney. The food was great. The bar was great. The people were great. It all was great. We’re looking forward to our next visit.

The staff at McSweeney Arms went above and beyond to make this one of our best vacations ever. They gave on great recommendations for tours and things to do in the area. They remembered our coffees, so every morning it was waiting for us at our table. Location was great. The rooms were nice and cute! It was always a great pub experience and the food was delicious. We can’t wait to come back!

We loved this cozy, ultra-comfortable hotel. It is family run and you will usually see them around. They are very attentive to your needs, recommending activities or restaurants or answering any questions you have. They booked several activities for us and made it so easy to enjoy the surrounding area. The rooms were charming, thoughtfully furnished, a good size with area to sit and relax. The breakfast was first rate in selection and quality. We especially appreciated the fact that they were environmentally sensitive, using glass water bottles and other sustainable services. Located in the middle of town less than 3 blocks from the train station, it could not have been more convenient. We will definitely return.

A great place to watch sports. Staff are very nice and serve a good pint. One of my favorites in Killarney.

Three meals ordered and it was all absolutely delicious. Service was very friendly. Definitely recommend. We had fish and chips, a special of beef stew and seafood chowder, which was chock full of fish and very tasty.

Had a fantastic stay at McSweeneys! Service is personal, prompt and our meals were outstanding. Rooms are spacious and airy with quality beds and linens for a great night’s sleep. It’s a family-run hotel in the heart of Killarney with hands on owners and their attention to detail is second to none.

Fantastic food and service. I love Killarney and lots of great places to visit and this is one of toe best. The receptionist was outstanding and made us fill welcome. No doubt we will return to McSweeney the next time we visit Killarney.

The room was spotless and a good size. The only thing I was unhappy with in the room was the windows did not block nightlife sound. The staff at the hotel and pub were wonderful. The owner was present and engaging.

This was a lovely little stay! The room was spacious and clean. The location is right in Killarney center. The receptionist was an absolute TREAT! The biggest downside was the internet service. It was barely there and we struggled both days to connect. As travelers with no cell service, this was a struggle. Also: no parking on the premise. A short walk from a paid garage.

Great location , great staff, great made to order breakfast with very attentive & friendly staff! Parking is off site but everything is very walkable as Killarney is a small town. Good option to explore the pubs and music at night. Our room was huge and had a fantastic view overlooking the pubs.

Such kind staff! Lady Receptionists & Bar man/waiter were all so helpful & kind!!, I came off a early flight & needed somewhere to stay for a rest. The bed was extremely comfortable , I decided to stay another night. Great shower & comfortable furniture in the room. The view was also the best I’ve seen from a hotel room in Killarney town. I was late for check out which they didn’t mind at all , they also minded my suitcase whilst I had a run around town & had lunch in the bar before hoping on my bus. The barman was the best Barman /waiter I’ve seen work in a long time! So attentive & cared for his guests. I had a tasty club sandwich & a really good coffee in the bar. Highly recommend! Will return .

Absolute shambles of a hotel first arrived reception had to run and check was room heating on staff in the bar was not very welcoming or helpful on advising where to go see etc paid up front for 2 nights left after one as room was freezing cold... told cleaning staff next morning that my room was not to be touched until we had checked out but they still went in and moved around all our belongings which is very disrespectful towards guests will definitely not be staying here again!!!!

Had a mix up with the booking and they very graciously helped sort it out. Room was spacious and had a great view of the city. Top notch restaurants and pubs just a few paces away.

When we arrived the concierge wasn’t there. Had to wait 10 to 15 mins to get checked in. Also (and I never had this happen before anywhere else) the toilet had poop stains when we first came into the room could easily see it. Lastly, you won’t get sleep here. It’s a good location but extremely noisy.

Loved this hotel during our stay in Killarney. Directly uptown, walking distance to everything. Friendly staff and cozy room. Ice cold beer at the bar downstairs is always a good thing. 10/10

Thank you very much for the attention received. Mr. Mc Sweeney treated us with great kindness and helped us on our trip to Killarney. The very spacious and comfortable room, the fantastic breakfast and the excellent hospitality. Close to the city center; Car park €3/day less than 5 minutes away.

We didn't have the opportunity to stay at this hotel as our accommodations had already been made elsewhere however I will tell you that when you walk into this pub lots of sports TV's golf memorabilia and a very quaint and friendly atmosphere the food was good the drinks were cold service was fantastic. It's nice to see people so welcoming even though you are in a tourist part of the city but yet you still get services if you are a local Highly recommend

Fabulous spotless hotel in the heart of Killarney. Rooms very spacious and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great food and excellent breakfast provided. Kelly Ann’s attention to detail throughout the hotel doesn’t go unnoticed and makes for a very pleasant stay. Have no problem recommending this hotel to anyone visiting Killarney.

Very nice hotel, loved the shampoo and shower bars instead of the normal small plastic bottles. So much more sustainable! And if announced the day before, they can make a lovely vegan breakfast too.

Thank you so much for a great night sleep and easy booking. We unfortunately were left stranded after gleneagle canceled our rooms without us knowing. I got on to Google and we were so lucky to book in here as it was bikefest so everywhere was so expensive or too far away. They confirmed and we were in our room 5 minutes later. Quiet, large comfy room overlooking the main street. Shower was great too either if you like it roasting or warm. No tea making facilities but otherwise a great stay for 2 nights.
