I cannot praise the Lake Hotel highly enough. Why it’s not a five star hotel amazes me. The rooms are fabulous, the food especially the 3 course meals in the restaurant amazing, the atmosphere of the whole place amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The ruins by the lake lit up at night, the deer arriving in the evening, even the remote grass cutter placidly getting on with the job.Last but certainly not least is the magnificent view across to the lake. It is absolutely stunning. Words can’t do it justice. We couldn’t take our eyes off it. This will be our go-to hotel in killarney in the future and I’m so grateful we found it.

Stayed here for three nights with my family back in May while visiting Ireland for the first time. Absolutely amazing service, scenery, staff, rooms, and food! This is a must stay for anyone looking for the true Irish experience. The walk to the castle toward the back of the hotel was breathtaking. The bar was amazing with tons of options and great bartenders with live performances every night! They even let my brother and I upgrade to a deluxe room while we were staying there, which came with its own balcony and absolutely gorgeous views, and to top it off we could order breakfast to our room! Would highly recommend booking one of these rooms! When I do come back to Ireland at some point in the future, this is the place I’ll be staying for most of my days!!

Just an outstanding stay. It was our anniversary, and the hotel gave us a wonderful suite with a great view and a jet tub and even included rose pedals and chocolate on the bed. The staff was amazing, and the restaurant was a top-notch experience for dinner and breakfast. Easy parking, and you are right next to the national park. Lots of old world charm. Highly recommend.

My family and I were visiting Ireland from Australia recently and our stay at this lovely classic hotel was the highlight of our trip. We loved the picturesque setting with wild deer adding to the whole experience. The lakeview rooms we had were large and comfortable, and the food, staff and ambience were amazing. If you visit Ireland you should definitely stay here and hopefully we all can visit again one day in the future.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights on our honeymoon trip in Ireland and this hotel was so cool! The views outside were absolutely stunning and the rooms themselves were very nice. It's conveniently located along the path into Killarney national park. We had also mentioned in booking it was our honeymoon and they left us a gift in our room when we arrived which was just so sweet and was not expected! They were so sweet! The front desk staff was also so helpful with all the questions we had about different things and always said hello when we were coming or going. Highly recommend this place if you're visiting Killarney area!

Without a shadow of a doubt the nicest place we have ever stayed in. The staff were top class. The food phenomenal. The grounds breathtaking and serene. A 5 star hotel in our eyes. (and watching the deer roaming the grounds late last night from our lake view balcony was just so beautiful)

One of the BEST hotels in Killarney by far! The view of the lakes is fantastic! Staff are great. Location if fabulous. Food is absolutely delicious. You will not regret staying here or even popping in for a meal or a pint!

I've been there twice 10 years apart. It's as if time stood still. The place is absolutely gorgeous and very very walkable. Castle ruins on site. Lots of wildlife (crows, ducks, deer) on site. Staff are all eager to help. Wonderful place. Just the best!

Truly a magical place to stay at the foot of Loch Leane in Killarney National Park. The Lake Hotel had such character in every inch of the property. We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant twice, as well as breakfast each morning. All the food was fantastic and service was great. I highly recommend staying here!

Preislich in Ordnung. Wir kommen wieder.

What a gloriously wonderful hotel! We stayed three nights on our honeymoon in Ireland and just can't say enough wonderful things about it. The front desk staff were just incredible and so helpful with anything you needed! Our room was spacious, clean and had a spectacular view. We were greeted with a special gift for our honeymoon too! The food was wonderful! Grounds were just stunning and clean. We spent two weeks traveling England and Ireland and this was our favorite hotel the entire trip (and not just because of the views!). Perfect for a relaxing stay and if we ever return to Ireland we will probably just stay a week right here! :)

This place was amazing. The old castle ruins lit up at night to walk and enjoy woth a glass of wine were fun to do. The views over the lake were Supreme. We have never smelled soap in a hotel that ever smelled this great, and the food in the fine dining restaurant was absolutely top knotch. 5 star quality. My only complaint is that the gross smokers lounge allows for the stench to float down the outside, and if the windows are open, stink up the rooms. It was unseasonably hot when we traveled, and we couldn't even open the windows because of the stench. That's a problem.

A truly magical hotel! The setting is stunning and the hotel itself is so cozy and has tons of character. We enjoyed the live music at the bar at night and found the staff to be incredibly kind and helpful. Breakfast was also great. Our room was huge and had an amazing bathtub and view. We will definitely be back!

If i could give The Lake Hotel ten stars i would... The hotel is amazing, it's so peaceful and relaxing. Each and everyone of the staff are so nice and friendly. The rooms get a 10/10...The breakfast is 10/10...The view from the hotel is a piece of heaven... I just can't rate and recommend the hotel and the staff highly enough... If you're visiting Killarney... Stay in The Lake Hotel

Stayed here recently for our anniversary. What is there to say, friendly and excellent staff both at the bar area and reception. They upgraded our room to a suite and what an upgrade, beautiful view of the lake and fabulous room. The food in the hotel is excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I will definitely be back.

Had a fabulous long weekend celebrating mum's birthday. Can't recommend enough. One small note. The service in the dining room was incredibly quick, gorgeous food, but we could have used another 10 mins between courses.

I vistited Killarney in Winter of 2023. I noticed this hotel was the perfect spot due to its beautiful scenery and nature. Despite visiting in cold weather, wildlife was still present. Deer and wild geese are common visitors of the lake nearby and if you’re lucky, you’ll find an eagle. Rooms are brilliant and food is perfect. I highly recommend.

I stayed at the Lake Hotel the night before my wedding and had the most wonderful experience. The reception and wider team were just amazing. From helping with our many many bags and allowing us a little bit of extra time in the morning before we left the hotel, everything was just perfect. We had the most magical morning before we left and were so thankful to the team for being so accommodating! :)

This is an amazing place to stay. The hotel is located with a big lake behind it. The views are amazing. The rooms were great. All servers from the maids, bartenders, wait staff, and registration people were amazing. I would definitely come back to this hotel. We had people near us who had children and they had fun here as well. It is very close to the Killarney National Park which is a must see.

Best hotel stay of all time. A great location. Whilst driving away from the hotel, had to stop to let a herd of Deer cross the road. Fantastic food served by really attentive, well presented staff. Spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean rooms. Will be back again for sure.

What can I say , we have just returned from a 2 night stay at this absolutely beautiful hotel. From the moment we arrived here at The lake's hotel we knew it was a gem. Beautiful scenery. Where else would you wake up to beautiful roaming deer outside out balcony. The rooms, the food and most importantly the staff were just so nice , caring and attentive. I'll have to mention Liam in the breakfast room. Such a nice gentleman, making us feel so welcome. It turned out he was educated in the village we are from. So he chatted to us so nicely. We watched him and noticed he treated everybody the same. A lovely gentleman. Please let him know of our kind words of him. Without fail, we will definitely be returning to this absolutely fine hotel..

Excellent food. We arrived after a long day on the bike and were greeted by someone playing the piano and overall excellent service and friendly staff. The food was fantastic. The sirloin steak was way better than what we got at the Europe Hotel. We’re looking forward to returning. Plus a great touch on each table is a hand wipe. When the world has forgotten about Covid and table hygiene, clearly the folks at The Late Hotel have not. Thank you for that.

Absolutely gorgeous view and location. Friendly staff, comfortable room and nice bed. Room even came with a fan which was nice for the summer weather. Had a lovely restaurant and bar downstairs and even brought a beautiful continental breakfast to our room when we had to leave before breakfast in the morning. Really felt like a high class, luxury stay without the insane price tag.

We enjoyed 2 nights here and enjoyed every part of our stay . We stayed in the deluxe master lake view room , and all I can say is wow ! Let's start with the view , AMAZING!! Just breath taking , the bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in , the shower pressure was great , room came with facility's such as kettle, coffee machine, hair dryer, iron Dyson fan , smart TV , lovely seating area , balcony with table and chairs, was a treat to sit and watch the deer wonder the grounds from your room . The food was delicious, we had room service from the restaurant and a meal from the bistro which were very good . The Devil's Punchbowl bar is a smashing pub , and I have to mention Jerome from the bar , such a gentleman who takes time to talk to every guest like you have been friends for years , a chap full of information, a true credit to the hotel , all the staff were just wonderful, they simply couldn't do enough to make sure guests were happy . The hotel itself is stunning , full of old style elegance , lots of very interesting photos hang on the wall , it sits in a beautiful location surrounded by beauty , but only a stone's throw from the town , so easy access to shops and there is so much to see and do locally . We decided to book to stay again before we even left , I cannot wait to visit again .

Excellent because the hotel is beautiful, fabulous location but above all the kind friendly, helpful and attentive staff. The food is excellent. Great views of the lake and mountains, being situated in off the main road all made for a relaxing and restful stay. I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough!

Super friendly staff! Ben at the bar was great. (He is a tour guide as well) room was interesting. We had the Osprey suite. It had a round bed in it, which I have never seen. HUGE ROOM. air conditioning was good. Good in the dining area for breakfast was good every morning, and our dinner was one of the best we have been had. The views are spectacular! Deer playing everywhere! Very quiet and off the beaten path, but only 8 minutes into town. Definitely go rent bikes and ride around the lake to see the waterfall.

Stayed here for a short break and found my stay to be very peaceful. I work in the hospitality industry myself therefore had certain expectations, everything about this hotel is exceptional from the location to the amenities, the amazing food and especially the charming Alex on reception who made my partner and I feel most welcome. One downside would be the F&B staff in the Bistro a little bit inexperienced but obviously down to age and experience in the industry which is understandable. Room was amazing , the view of the lake alone pays for itself , beds were super comfortable, cannot fault accommodation were always on point with the cleanliness of the room , plenty of parking and an abundance of things to do . The bike rides to Muckross and the the history that Killarney is enveloped in was most exhilarating. Beautiful place to visit....Will definitely return again

The Lake Hotel has a traditional that feels like you are stepping back in time to the grand old days. It has style and it is very comfortable. Set in a beautiful location. Food and services are top-notch. The bedroom was bigger than any other standard hotel room, with a very cosy bed and a very nice toilet. The fitness center is very modern, with a gym, jacuzzi and sauna (all free of use), and massages (that have to be booked in advance)

We had a great time at the Lake Hotel. Unfortunately, we only stayed for one night, but I wish we would had stayed longer! We got a free upgrade to a Master Deluxe Suite upon arrival. The room was amazing and looked straight out onto the lake and Killarney National Park. We loved the jacuzzi in the room as well.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. It has an old feel to it, but it's well done. The staff were lovely at the front desk, the bar and for breakfast service. The breakfast was worth it and provided a wide variety of options. It is definitely on the side of the better hotel breakfasts we've had. Plus the view in the morning is so nice. We ate at the bar as well and the food and dessert were very good. The grounds and view were so nice and definitely made the experience. Even though it was windy and rainy it was nice to walk around in the breaks of sun. I can only imagine how nice it is with great weather. We had a room overlooking the parking lot/ wooded area. It was pretty quiet at night which was nice. I believe our room was in the older part of the hotel. It had no a/c and the first night it got pretty warm. There was a fan in the wardrobe and that fixed the problem pretty easily, thankfully. One of the odd things about the room was the lack of type G plugs. The only ones available were being used by the bedside lamps, so we had to unplug them to charge anything. Being from the US we only had the one adapter on us, we didn't figure we'd need the type the room had and I'm not even sure what they were. The shower was a bit narrow, but had really good pressure. The bathroom had 2 sinks, but in order to use them at the same time the bathroom door had to be shut, so kind of a design flaw. The room had plenty of space and the bed and pillows were comfortable. We slept very well every night. You could walk to the city easily, although we found it easier (especially with the rainy weather) to drive and park. It's very close to plenty of attractions like torc waterfall, Killarney house, ring of Kerry, etc. We would gladly come back if we ever find ourselves in Ireland again.

We passed by this hotel many times, so now we decided to give it a shot and it's completely worth it. The view is breath taking from our room, as we got a lake view room. Food is really good so as the staffers. It's a very nice experience so far.

Stayed in the older part of Hotel, very charming. The Hotel has a gorgeous view of the Killarney mountains behind the Lough Leane (lake). Muck Ross mansion and Abbey short distance away, as is town center. Service is excellent, staff friendly, breakfast buffet superb and the pub food is grand...great place to stay!

Just returned from a wonderful weekend at The Lake Hotel, Killarney. Stunning views. Beautiful hotel and rooms. Staff were fantastic and food was exceptional, even my vegetarian meal was one of a kind. Can't wait to go back again. Thank you!

I’m writing this review based on a stay last August. It was a special visit, I had booked a last week away for my family to enjoy our time together before the end of my maternity leave. I had fond memories of a past visit here with my mother, and hoped to end maternity leave with some special memories with my husband and two small children, in this beautiful setting. However, despite phoning ahead to try to ensure that we would have a room that was suitable for a 5mt old baby and a 2yr old, we were completely heartbroken on the first night to arrive, and be put in a room two doors down from a loud bar, with a shower but no bath, and when we went to reception, in tears, as our children could not sleep, they had no other room and told us that it was the fault of the online booking service we had used. After a rough first night, a better room was found the next day, but overall the experience was patchy. The Bistro did not allow pre-booking of time slots, which was a bit stressful in terms of timing seating for meals with small children, and initially they seemed to want to hide us in dingy corners of the empty room as they escorted elderly patrons to premium outdoor locations with views. We clued in after a while, that this was not a “child-friendly” place. Some people were kind to our kids, but some staff were clearly hostile. It was a stressful visit. The morning buffets were pleasant & seemed to have some lovely staff, but the Bistro was incongruously haughty for a casual dining area. I have never experienced a discriminatory experience like this in a hotel, I honestly felt like everyone around us was getting treated royalty, and our family were being treated, oddly. Maybe because we had a young baby, maybe because I was breastfeeding, I don’t know, but it was weird and stressful & the only good thing about staying here was how relieved we were to go home again in the end.

Such a wonderful memories with my recent visit. In love with the lake hotel and its beautiful location. Will definitely try to visit the place in the near future. We had a 2 night stay in the hotel and we got room downstairs with lake view. It was so relaxing and so much fun for my little girl as well, she also enjoyed the stay. Food was also amazing and tasty🤤

We had an amazing stay here last weekend. My husband and I were visiting the area for a long weekend away and the hotel was the perfect choice. Everything in the hotel was lovely and clean. The hotel had an old style but nothing was old/worn in the room. The best bit was the view over the lake. It was stunning. The hotel overlooks an old building, mountains and a beautiful lake. When the weather is good the view is outstanding. Even in bed weather the view is still lovely. While there we saw the herd of deer a few times on the grounds. It really felt like we were in the middle of nowhere while only being a 5 minute drive from the middle of town. The hotel was very quiet and we had no issues sleeping or being woken. The hotel is very long so depending on where your room is you may have to do a bit of walking! It is also a bit of a maze inside but it well signed to help you find your way around. The hotel has a spa, with a steam room, sauna, outdoor jacuzzi, rest room and a gym - all of which were great. We really loved our stay and if I'm honest I'd go back tomorrow. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel to anyone visiting the area. Oh, also, the sausages at breakfast were so good! I've got no idea what it was about them but they were so good! All of the breakfast good we had was delicious but the sausages were especially great. All of the staff we spoke to were very friendly and helpful. We also ate at both of the restaurants and the food was good.

Stayed for 3 nights (5 people). The location can't be beat, and there is so much to do since the Hotel is located at the national park. We went fishing, bike riding, sightseeing by a jaunt car and on foot. The staff was attentive, friendly, and informative. The food was exceptional and there was nightly entertainment at the pub. Highly recommended and we hope to be back some day!
