The atmosphere is great, surrounding traditional, a busy place also apart from the main season. But the main courses were much too salty...

Great historic pub in Kilkenny that has a better “medieval” feel than most. There are two separate sides to the pub, with the back side being larger with more seating. The chicken that I had was very good and they also made a great Irish coffee.

We were out exploring Kilkenny on foot after dinner, and heard the music and saw the sign to this fine establishment as we popped out of an alleyway. We found two seats at the bar and proceeded to admire the massive whisky collection displayed on the wall. We asked the bartender to pour us a shot of whichever whisky was brewed by their closest local distillery and then later we had a shot of the newest whisky in their inventory. When there’s so many to choose from, we find creative ways to select from the wall! The band was excellent and the venue was lovely. We went to the bathroom and it was noticeably spotless. The interpretative signs about the wealthy widow /witch history are fun to read.

As an Irish person, I could really appreciate a decent Irish pub offering when I see one. The food is very nice and well presented. The music brings back memories from my childhood and in particular the Gaeltacht which was only wonderful. A fabulous place for either locals or tourists to visit. Definitely a good spot.

Kyteler's Inn is a fantastic place to spend time over drinks. There is quite a bit of history about the place which adds to the ambiance. It's a lively time on an evening - live music many nights (including the night we were there - which was energetic and entertaining...and irresistible to singing along with). Plenty of drink choices and a lot of rooms and nooks to wander through. The bar staff were friendly and quick with service as well.

Day or night, it's nice place to hang out. I can say It's the oldest pub in Ireland that ever I visited. Enjoy non-alcohol Guinness 0.0 with the taste like Guinness, how cool is that? Beyond the story telling....the Witcher.... Great Craig on Friday nite as live Irish/pop music on....with many famous songs Great crowd, Great atmosphere...

What a find on our final night in Kilkenny. Music begins at 6:00 pm and the room begins to fill up. The atmosphere in this13th century medieval building is phenomenal. Service, drinks, and food are great. The entertainment was wonderful. Don't miss this place.

Great atmosphere and energy with live band. The bar keeps weren’t friendly and they were somewhat abrupt. They were probably just wanting to leave as it was 22:15.

Beautiful building, & I love the History of this typically irish pub. Great wee spot. It was busy but pleasant. A cheese & onion crisp sandwich on the menu was a surprise to some in the group but enjoyed by all.. I was told the best pint of Guinness in the world is sold here !

This is my 3rd visit to Kyteler’s. Other visits have been great. This time, the server greeted me with an “I can’t f…n hear you.” He stopped himself before he said it, but the point was taken. He wasn’t happy to be there. We ordered drinks, which were fine. I ordered a super food salad which looked great but had no flavor nor any dressing. I asked for dressing and the waiter brought; a citrus dressing which was also bland. My friend ordered a sandwich and fries. Our server didn’t bring us salt and pepper or offer any sauces. I had to ask another server for the ketchup and mayonnaise. In the end I asked for a separate check. My friend and I paid the same amount even though we ordered food with different prices. The fella at the top never showed us what he rang up. I won’t come back. It’s clear that tourists are treated and pay differently that the locals. Very sad.

The food is delicious. A little bit pricey, but the overall experience makes it worth it, especially if you read about the history of this place. I highly recommend it.

We really enjoyed this spot. It was very busy but we were lucky and got a table. Entertainment was very good as was the food. Our only complaint was that our waitress was quite rude

After a long day of touring Kilkenny, we ate dinner at Kyteler's Inn We really enjoyed our meal and drinks here. Our food came out hot and delicious. The service was prompt and friendly. I believe they have live music, but we had to leave to catch the train, which is about a 10-15 minute walk from Kyteler's Inn. We would love to visit this place again.

Love this place! It's got such a long and colorful history. We only came in for drinks this time, but we've eaten here in the years past, and it was always very good. Prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is great. The place dates back to the 1300s, I believe. Put it on your list!

Sat in the downstairs bar which had sport on every tv. It was not till we left I realised the bar upstairs was much nicer with better atmosphere and someone playing traditional music. The food was good for ‘pub grub’

Had an amazing meal here. The chicken and ham vol-au-vent is the best we've ever had! Our server Orla was great, so friendly and accommodating. The decor is so interesting. Great statue of Alice Kyteler you can take a picture with.

There many pubs in Killerny and there is Kytelers! Outstanding music performances. Efficient service. Drinks and food way better than average pub level.

We ate in the bar, had some delicious traditional Irish food, drank both beer and whiskey, all while enjoying a session of traditional Irish music from a group of local musicians!! Very cultural!! Then, out back in the covered garden area was a band playing classic rock while we drank more beer! It was like going to two concerts just steps away from each other!!

Very historical, medieval, cosy pub (established 1324) on 2 levels with natural stone walls and exposed beams, good meals and live Irish music in the evening. The waiters are very attentive, allergies are actually taken care of by the kitchen.

Very poor menu, food was cold no waiter to ask to re heat, even though plenty of waiters on duty. Eventually a waiter paid us attention and we ordered dessert which was lovely. A very nice chatty chap Patrick which was so nice to end our evening.

Fun old pub with good food and beers. Lots of interesting memorabilia on the walls and ceiling. Please note there are approximately 5 steps up to the restaurant for anyone mobility challenged.

We visited based on a recommendation from a friend and we were NOT disappointed. The atmosphere was excellent for a traditional Irish pub that had been founded hundreds of years ago. We opted to share an appetizer of the crusted and fried brie and a daily special of their steak sandwich. The brie was panko crusted and then fried served on a cranberry compote with a little side of green salad in the plate. The steak sandwich was thin slices of beef on a cibatta roll with onions and mushrooms and a side of chips and a same small green salad. The bartender and the host/ manager then stepped up the game when we decided to a premium whiskey flight along with a couple other pours. Their knowledge of what was in each glass and what was to be expected in our tasting was excellent.
