Super swanky. So excited for a new jazz lounge in the Columbus area, let alone a creative creation courtesy of Chapman's Eat Market's Bronwyn Hayes and chef BJ Lieberman. Prohibition style menu, with a focus on gin, broken down into three sections. First are classics - cocktails with a long history and tradition that maybe not everyone has heard of. Then there are the originals, including the Ginger Rabbit itself - a mix of gin, sherry, ginger syrup, carrot juice and celery bitters. Finally there is a build-your-own gin martini bar. Food falls into small plate/snack territory. Such a cool vibe and transports you to another time. Food is great, drinks flow freely, and the jazz dazzles - will be making this a regular stop

If you want to have a sexy date night, this is the place. From the time you walk in and head down the stairs, you know it’s going to be the vibe you’ve been wanting to have in Columbus. The staff was absolutely on it from the time we walked in. The bar is a great place to sit for a more casual environment while still getting the full experience of the jazz band. Our bartender was incredible and wish I asked him where he got his sweater. I cannot wait to return and bring others for the couch experience. Do yourself a favor and get a pic on the legit bathroom because I forgot. Cheers. Ps thanks for having olives without the pits. 🫒 Update - Returned with friends and had another fabulous time!

We had an early reservation and were seated promptly at 5pm. The ambiance is superb and the service was excellent. Drinks and charcuterie were fantastic. Great selection of gins and very good martinis and house drinks. Live music was classy. Will definitely return to this wonderful establishment!!! Thanks again

What an awesome place!! I love how you get to pick your table to sit at when you make your reservation, knowing where in the room you will be. We didn't get food, they were out of the Japanese Deviled Eggs (mega bummer, but will be back!) but the drink were incredible. My husband was like a kid seeing the "build your own martini" list with Gins, Vermouths and more. It was the best martini we've ever had. So much so, he had to go out a buy that Gin the next day to try his own 🤣 The talent on stage was amazing. We were able to quietly chat to each other but mostly everyone paid attention to the jazz band. Fun vibes yelling out a "Wooo!!" for stellar solos from each musician. We even got to meet everyone at the end. I was impressed how the show ended and it was wrapped up and setting back up for the next wave of guests since we went to the 7:15 show. Didn't feel rushed tho! We will be back. Cannot wait!

Looking for a calm night out? I came to Columbus on a work trip and only had a few evenings to explore the city. After being up and running all day, you’d hope to find a calm and soothing place to relax for the night. Thanks to God, that’s just what I found. I remember that night I had been walking all over down town, when it started to rain. I’ve lived in Portland, so not a big deal, but by the time I got to this Jazz Lounge, I was wet, not dripping, but enough to bring others to notice. It didn’t bother me though. As I opened the door, I noticed the stairs, only outlined by the dim lights that ran on each side of the walls. With every step down, I heard and saw less of the world behind me and began to walk into what I would call… “A Night in New Orleans.” I was way underdressed (hoodie & sweats), and came without a reservation, hoping I could snag a spot regardless. Thankfully, they had a spot at the bar, where I enjoyed a very nice platter of Hummus and a drink called “Caipirinha” that wasn’t even on the menu (props to the bartender). The music was great that night, the food service was amazing and the people there were so kind! If I’m ever back in Columbus, whether it’s raining or not, I’ll make sure to make my way back to Ginger Rabbit. And this time… I’ll wear a something nice. P.S. Jesus loves you!

While I'm not a big jazz person, the atmosphere, along with some talented live musicians really is a perfect match. The service, talented staff behind the bar and sophisticated drinks were all excellent. Looking forward to the next visit for sure. Highly recommend and worth your time.

Brilliant concept to bring to Columbus. Atmosphere is elegant and intimate. Original cocktails are a highlight. Saw The Zakk Jones Trio here and they jammed the night away. They offer small plate appetizers like a variety of Tartines. I’m going to guess this place is going to be blowing up and real busy soon so swing by and check it out while you can get in.

Great ambiance at this spot. Getting a reservation can be difficult, definitely recommend either going on a weekday or booking a few weeks in advance. Great performers, tasty drinks. I personally would recommend eating at one of the other nearby spots rather than here.

I love this place! A very different vibe for Columbus. A cool spot were you can enjoy Jazz in a very cozy and pleasant atmosphere. I suggest to reserve a table because the place is kinda small and it is normally full. However, everyone should experience it. I had 3 different drinks and I loved them all!

Thrilled to have discovered a cool, intimate space to cozy up and take in live jazz music. Music is outstanding! Cocktails and service were superb. Menu is simple but sophisticated, featuring seafood and fare from local bakers, butchers and farms. The lounge oozes charm and promotes a nostalgic energy and feel. Unique and memorable date night spot. Be sure to make reservations ahead of time—Seating is limited and shows almost always sell out.

A really nice atmosphere with a great overall vibe. Felt like I went back in time when I walked downstairs. The music was excellent, the feeling you get watching the musicians with other patrons and the staff mingling about really culminates into a great experience. Go with a date, friends, or by yourself at the bar. You're going to have a good time!

I cannot say enough good things about Ginger Rabbit and I encourage everyone to visit even if you don’t think of yourself as a true jazz fan, you’ll have an amazing time!! The vibe in the lounge is intimate, cool, and swanky without being pretentious. The musicians are very talent, the food is delicious, and the service is amazing. The hostess heard it was our anniversary and even sent over two glasses of champagne which was incredibly generous and a great way to start our evening. Do yourself a favor and visit Ginger Rabbit for a truly unique experience in Columbus.

My wife and I went for a 930 show. The whole place was fantastic with a wonderful vibe, comfortable seats and a lively but not crowded set up. I was impressed with the cocktail and wine lists. We’d already eaten dinner so we did not order any food but our drinks were great and I would absolutely go back. I definitely recommend Ginger Rabbit for any music lover, or just anyone looking for something unique here in Columbus.

As a jazz lover, I've been wanting to check this place out for a long time. Reservations can be hard to get because of the limited space, but the charm is in exactly that - the intimate setting. The decor is great as are the cocktails. It definitely felt like a trip back in time to the 30's & 40's.

After a visit to Rudy's Jazz Room in Nashville, my wife and I longed for a top notch speakeasy / jazz room in Columbus and we finally have it with The Ginger Rabbit. With our first visit on a Monday night we were impressed from the start as we were greeted by a friendly and charming doorman / security who directed us down to the lower floor that houses a jazz room that is a throwback to the 1920's. With a choice of bar seating, floor tables that are surrounded by large comfortable cushioned chairs, or couches along the wall you will find a great spot to enjoy craft cocktails, live jazz, and imaginative small plates. The volume of the music is just right if your focus is listening or having it as a background as you chat with friends. Our server, Carlos, was so polite and helpful with recommendations. Everything about The Ginger Rabbit made for a very enjoyable evening. We will definitely make this a regular destination and we highly recommend a visit.

Cool little spot to check out if your a jazz fan. They specialize in gin cocktails but had other amazing cocktails as well. We stopped in not sure what to expect and were pleasantly surprised. Throughout the evening, until around 9, there was a live jazz show. It's a very small and intimate place, would be perfect for a date night. The music was fantastic and the food was just as good. I had the Lobster roll and the burrata and I loved them both. I wish I could go more often, but I don't live in Columbus :(

Only drawback is the limited food menu. Great live music by Tom and Ian Carroll, and my favorite restroom in all of Columbus it smells FANTASTIC and the hand towels are uber soft. Great atmosphere and cocktails, although if you don't drink Gin you will be searching harder for something you enjoy. Staff was quite friendly and attentive.

This place is pretty amazing if you're a fan of well crafted classic or unique cocktails, live jazz, and especially both. The atmosphere is what I'd imagine stepping into a 1920s club would be like, with the decor and lighting setting the perfect mood. The menu is varied and fancy enough to give you some great light-to-medium snacky options -- but it's not exactly where I'd go for my dinner. The high quality alcohol available is a huge plus, with gins being a particular focus. The bartenders have a solid list of unique cocktails (my favorite is the Bert Yazerrac) as well as classics like the dark and stormy. My partner has enjoyed the variety and quality of the martinis, with common variations written on the menu for the uninitiated. And of course, the music has been fantastic. The sound system is well crafted -- i was easily able to get lost in the music, but at no point felt it was too loud to speak to my partner or the server. I've visited on two occasions, and had the pleasure of hearing a different group of musicians each time. Knowing the music will be unique each time is a major plus in my book. They do limit the reservation time (be sure to be prompt so you don't miss anything!), but on both visits we didn't find this to be an obstacle to relaxing and enjoying our meals, drinks, or the music. I can't recommend this spot enough.

If you are looking for the true definition of a jazz club. Ginger Rabbit is as close to the spot on definition I can think of. My girlfriend and I had a front row/center stage table to an incredible jazz performance. The food and cocktails were spot on. Definitely the top Jazz club in Columbus.

The place was awesome. I've never been to a place like this. I brought my gf, and she absolutely loved it. We will be back, and not to mention the band, the Whirlybirds were awesome!!!

Second time coming here and loved it. Great small plates and cocktails, wonderful sound, elite selection of artists, and honestly, this placed is probably the most perfectly designed/decorated spaces in the city. The keen attention to details, color selection, lighting really elevate the entire experience. Don’t get me started on the restrooms. PERFECTION. Love love love this operation. Only drawback is that I wish the artists were paid more.

One great drink after another with sleepy jazz. I did love the vibe of the place and would definitely go back, especially for more up beat jazz. We went before dinner, but if we had gone after dinner we would have fallen asleep.

The best gem of Columbus in my view. If you love jazz. And cosy dim-lit atmospheric venues. And great cocktails. Not talking though. If you like talking, you’d be better off finding another place. Or arrive early and talk before the show starts.

Cute little swanky jazz lounge. Love listening to live music. You don’t see much of that these days. Will definitely be coming back here when I’m in town again!

A welcome, cool atmosphere with service, craft cocktails (which highlight the raw materials, not the mechanics) and music to match. Honestly hope it doesn't become too popular since beyond the 15 or so tables, there are only 9 bar seats.

Great live jazz. Food was good, although they were out of some items. The cocktails and the service were great. My wife and I will be going back. You will need a reservation so plan ahead.

This is a fantastic speakeasy style bar featuring local jazz groups. The limited menu is not a problem. We shared 3 appetizers including the fabulous lobster roll and had plenty. Parking is both a problem yet not a problem. While it is a ways from the front door, the walk is through the well lit, trendy neighborhood and was quite pleasant. The reservation system is a bit strange. One gets 90 minutes guaranteeing a full musical set. This wasn't a problem on Wednesday night as they were not fully booked and we were allowed to stay for a second set. The music was mostly great jazz standards. Sadly, the guests were mostly unenthusiastic. It was a Wednesday night and it appeared most stopped in for a cocktail on their way somewhere else as opposed to our jazz focused destination visit. The nice thing about the quiet demeanor is that conversation was easy and relaxed. I've been wanting to go since Ginger Rabbit opened and am really glad I did. 😊 I'll happily go back with the proper perspective that it is a great starter for a formal dinner plan later in the neighborhood. Persevere! No thrive! We need more live jazz in the world especially featuring local artists. Thank you!

This is a great place for jazz and music lovers. The price vary from $5-$20 per show , week days tend to be on a lower end. The drinks there are reasonably priced and well made. The food options are extremely limited but with so many great restaurants nearby that is barely a negative in my book. The staff there is incredible attentive (shout out to Norah!). The speakeasy ambiance and decor is like a warm hug, it’s just sexy! plus they allow you to choose your seating during reservations which is so appreciated. I truly hope this place continues to flourish. Ps:Parking garages nearby are your best bet cause the past few times I have been there there were no streets parking for 1 mile radius. Enjoy!
