Had a wonderful stay last weekend with my family. 2 out of the 4 double beds were, unfortunately, 2 single beds pushed together, so some of us got bad shoulder pain. Also, we all got super warm during the night, so we took the duvet off. But the top floor had to have a fan on, as it felt like a greenhouse all day and didn't want to open the doors during the night because of the flies from the lake. One thing that I didn't like was that the pools session (including steam room/sauna) were timed, and so we were told to leave after 20mins when they could've told us to wait and join the next one. The bbq was clean, kitchen was big, TV had Netflix which was great, and they had a wii too. But all in all, I still wish we went to centre parcs instead.

Oak lodge was lovely, spacious and warm. I love looking out over the lake and watching the ducks and fish down below. The hot tub was a real treat, and the pool, sauna and gym popular with the whole family. We booked a katakanu for 2 hours and had fun exploring 2 of the local lakes. Nice local walks. We also enjoyed combat splat paintballing and the Japanese lakeside restaurant nearby. We came in winter but I’m sure summer would be fun too.

Brilliant walks and when open, the food and drinks are great. Everything is hygienically clean to perfection. Good football and tennis courts as well! A little pricy, but if u want to treat yourself to a close weekend away, this is the perfect place !

Very very unpleasant experience there, the manger (a lady with blonde hair) arranged the queue of swimming pool so badly. Very arrogant attitude to customers. Totoally destroyed the holiday. We will never recommend anyone to go to there! Following the response from the owner, we have sent a complaint letter to that email address but received nothing. The response is just to mislead readers.

Fantastic place to unwind, beautiful setting and great place to use as a base to explore the Cotswolds.

Fabulous facilities and activity options. Wr stayed in a privately owned cottage rather than the main spa complex and were very plesantly surprised by the heated outdoor pool and sauna available. Lots of good walks (though all very flat). Many offsite activities in the vicinity too.

Fantastic holiday park. The buildings are a bit of a mishmash and aren’t overly attractive but they are very well built. The eco heating systems are fantastic. Never once did we feel a chill. The place needs better signage around the estate. The on-site restaurant is nice but on the evening we visited they were only serving pizzas so we went to the nearby beautiful pub The Bakers Arms and had an absolutely incredible meal. We ended up spending a lot of money there and would have gladly spent this on-site had they had a more varied menu. It’s a really nice park to have a walk around. The only other issue found is that they only have two EV chargers on site and one of them is set for Teslas Only. This one was never in use during our stay. The remaining one EV charger for all other EV’s was constantly in use and it was very very difficult to ever find it available. Luckily our car is a plug in hybrid. If your vehicle is a full EV I would not be happy to recommend this park as it is very remote and you are at risk of finding yourself stranded if you can not get your vehicle charged. It would be too stressful. Other than that a great place to spend a few nights.

Nice weekend homes but still lots of developing going on. Well equipped and spacious. The gym is a joke. It consists of an elliptical machine and a rowing machine housed in a shed. Poor sign posting throughout the estate. I got lost all weekend😭 Very poor lighting during night time. Popped out to the nearby Tesco store and upon my return to the estate it took me 45 minutes to find where I was staying. Decent company made the weekend enjoyable.

Stayed at Muntjac Lodge for a weekend. Loved it. It was definitely expensive but great facilities and lakes and nature reserve. It was so quiet except for excited waterfowl 🦆 and it all felt safe with the kids. Activity hub was great value for a 24 hr canoe hire. Outdoor pool was unsupervised and relaxed. Spent most of Sunday there after canoeing around beavers. Saunas all over the shop. I'll say the eco pool was invigorating but it was just freezing 😁. Would love to go back again. Even considered buying a house here. ♥️

Stayed at #46, Chestnut Lodge. Not really big enough for 8 adults. Sticky stairway posts. No towel in downstairs toilet. Very poor ventilation downstairs , kitchen window basically unusable, had to just open front door. Only one designated parking spot. Showers fixed about 1 foot above taps, so you either kneel or have to stand and hold shower. Our bedroom had definite old sock smell. No mobile signal. Bedroom blinds dont provide much morning darkness. Plenty of good walks within the development.

Gorgeous estate, definitely planning another trip next year! The facilities on site are great, the house we stayed in was beautiful! We rented kayaks for the weekend and going round the lakes was just the best experience.

Stayed with a group of 11 people and we were really impressed. We stayed in Jema which was spacious, clean and generally a stunning space to stay for a few days. The site had a very chilled and friendly oriented feel to it. A great set of facilities with sports courts, swimming pool and watersports, all of which we used.

This was an amazing weekend away with such beautiful views the only reason this wasn't a 5* rating is the house was a bit dated and just needs a bit of an update. But would recommend to anybody for short get away.

Fantastic place to bring a family on holiday. Lots of options for canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding. Some of the neighbours can be a bit loud especially on Friday and Saturday

  • 3/5 Anna Maria C. 2 years ago on Google
This place is just a glorified holiday village on a nature reserve that attracts water-sport enthusiasts. This makes the place very over-crowded, especially at the weekend. Although there is access to a good size indoor pool (and a modest outdoor pool), sauna and steam room, each pool allows a capacity for 60 people in any one slot, which is impractical and unsafe, especially with the COVID19 restrictions. We stayed in a chalet-style, detached lake house, which stayed quiet, until Friday afternoon, when some very noisy weekenders arrived, who ignored the evening curfew (imposed for the benefit of the nature reserve), disturbing neighbours. I would not re-visit...

One of my favourite places for a getaway. So many things to do there. Beautiful scenery and walks / bike rides including plenty of quiet ones off the beaten track. Fantastic Spa and gym facilities and plenty if swimming pools for all.

Such a lovely stay at Lower Mill this weekend with our two toddlers. Spa is stunning and we got to use the outdoor pool as we had amazing weather. Beautiful surroundings and architecture. Lovely walks on the doorstep which the kids loved exploring. We used the restaurant every day which had great food and amazing gin (strawberry and vanilla - delish)! Reasonable prices too. Having a children’s play area just outside meant meal times were a lot less stressful than usual! Grounds are extremely well maintained which added to the sense of luxury the estate offers. Lots to do for older kids and grown ups on the water, very jealous of the paddle boarders! A very special place.

Brilliant place, so well set up with excellent facilities for outdoor sports and the spa is great. The peace and quiet and lakes all around are so relaxing.

We have just returned from (Plovers Nest) on lower mill estate, the house was gorgeous everything you could ever need in the kitchen, very clean and lovley furnishings. We were a family of 3 generations, everyone agreed that the house, spa and the ambience of the whole estate is very chilled.

Lovely place. You need to book everything in advance. Also be careful of the 12.5% surcharge at the ballihoo. Even though you go to bar or shop to get drinks. As it’s card only there’s no real knowledge of this unless you look. Don’t mind paying a surcharge for a service but when it’s direct bar service I think this is a bit much

A great place for short breaks. A wide selection of houses/accommodation and lots of areas for activities for adults and children. Walking routes around the park are mainly roads which are narrow. This makes for slow traffic driving through but young children need to be watched very closely. Majority of properties have views over small lakes. Feels a very safe place to be. The hub has a nice menu.

Stayed here last year and was amazing. A beautiful part of the world, and the site was very well kept. The house we rented was very nice and had everything you could need. The swimming pool and sauna on site was very nice to use. Highly recommend this place!!

Avoid Garden Villa Lodge and Lakeside Spa Holidays. Property is dirty and in poor state of repair. The property is marketed as luxury accommodation and the charges reflect this but our visit was spoilt by the general poor state of repair and inadequate cleaning. The attached photos show some of the issues which included; • many cobwebs inside and out • dirty windows inside and out • rusty, unhygienic toilet brush holders • missing light bulbs • broken shower control • all clocks require new batteries • dirty, neglected outside areas which included weeds, old leaves, rusty fittings etc. • deck area damaged by barbeque and not repaired or even swept to remove burnt wood • spiral staircase out of use and cordoned off with tape • gate on deck tied up with baler twine adding to general air of neglect • worn out furniture and mouldy cushions on sun loungers • missing controls on hot tub The photographs and video used on the website are not recent and probably date from when the property was new. This is misleading and it is clear that the property has received very little ongoing maintenance since new. Lakeside Spa Holidays take no responsibility for the problems (you should read their terms and conditions very carefully before parting with any money) and passed my complaint on to the owner. I was initially offered a discount on a future booking which I declined and asked for a cash refund. This was ignored until I informed the owner of my intention to take them to court at which point a refund was authorised immediately! We have stayed in much better properties at a fraction of the cost and would never rent a property from Lakeside Spa Holidays again.

Strange place with a mishmash of architecture, going from ugly modern to what must have been old Cotswold farm cottages and buildings as though there was no central concept. Although one is in the middle of lakes and woods there are no running paths or cycle tracks and when everyone is arriving or leaving it is like Piccadilly in the rush hour and one is constantly in danger of being run over. What the place needs is a hospitality concept rather than a large housing estate.

I have been visiting the House on average 3 times a year for the last 10 years. Love the development but as per normal the reception at the spa is extremely un accommodating with owners and guest paying a lot of money to stay here. Maybe they need to be reminded the facility is not only for treatments, but also for swimming (all ages) a the gym as well. Such a shame as the younger members of the team are very helpful, but the older members of staff are extremely rude and obviously find it irritating that guests and owner families want to use all the facilities.

It's okay. We stayed in the Willow Warbler. The shower door was hanging off and the TV reception was a joke. It's not obvious until you get there but it's actually a mix of residents and lets. Some of it is gated which felt weird. Some of it is still being built. The on-site restaurant is average, probably too small for the size of the place and not always open. The pool is accessible in 90 minute windows which is just annoying. Stick to Centre Parcs

We always enjoy our stays at Lower Mill. Great amenities, stunning setting, plenty of ooprtunity for activities and a lovely cafe/restaurant and playground on site. The swimming pool is a favourite with our children and we always look forward to our next trip.

Amazing !! Such a wonderful place full of natural beauty and it feels so safe. We come here regularly and feel at home. If you're looking for a UK holiday that's a lot less hustle bustle than center parcs then this could be what you are looking for. On site spa, several swimming pools, lakes, a restaurant and tennis courts. The perfect family activity holiday that you can escape the world! Everything is immaculate

The area is lovely and there are plenty of places to go and things to do for the family. The cottage was beautiful and more than enough for 6. A couple of negatives mean only 4 stars. The TV was not the biggest and was tucked away in the corner of the lounge so relaxing in the evening watching a movie was not so easy, but not a big issue. However the WiFi was a nightmare. It seems to be for many houses but constantly logged devices off resulting in going through a tiring log in process each time. And because there literally is no signal for mobile phones you have to rely on that WiFi for internet access and being able to communicate with the outside world.

I had the perfect long, sunny weekend at Lower Mill, having booking a beautiful property overlooking the lake in Howells Mere through Habitat Escapes. The spa with its outdoor pool was the perfect place to cool off after a long hot drive and dinner and drinks at the next door restaurant, Ballihoo, topped it off. The estate is teaming with happy people; parents holding hands, kids laughing and people out on the lakes, kayaking. I'm already desperate to go back.
