During
the
August
bank
holiday
we
were
looking
for
a
Soho
Farmhouse
alternative
and
found
Wild
Thyme
&
Honey.
A
few
hours
outside
of
London
we
arrived
to
a
nice
location,
welcomed
with
a
non
alcoholic
drink
too.
We
paid
a
bit
extra
for
a
river
view
room
which
was
on
the
first
floor.
The
room
was
very
nice,
comfy
bed,
big
bath
and
decor
that
shouts
country
retreat.
We
enjoyed
a
cup
of
tea
and
a
sip
of
some
local
gin,
all
at
no
extra
cost.
The
venue
overall
looks
great,
it’s
warm
and
comforting
and
the
food
at
the
restaurant
is
actually
very
good,
the
Prawn
Thai
curry
is
a
must-have,
absolutely
delicious.
The
majority
of
the
staff
were
very
pleasant
and
attentive
but
unfortunately
we
found
the
service
to
be
a
mixed
bag
overall.
On
our
first
night
we
waited
1
hour
for
a
portion
of
bread
to
snack
on
and
at
the
restaurant
our
starters
took
over
an
hour
to
arrive
too.
They
were
very
proactive
and
offered
refunds
without
us
asking
but
it
wasn’t
great
to
see.
I
would
also
suggest
they
give
more
than
1
bottle
of
water
per
room,
we
tried
to
get
another
from
the
pantry
a
couple
of
times
but
they
just
weren’t
available.
There’s
also
no
phone
in
the
room
and
no
one
answered
when
we
called
on
our
mobile.
Overall
it’s
a
lovely
place
to
visit
with
some
great
walking
routes
nearby.
The
people
there
are
friendly
and
the
venue
is
beautiful.
In
saying
that,
we
both
felt
the
place
seems
a
bit
confused,
is
it
meant
for
elderly
locals
or
younger
people
from
the
city
looking
for
a
luxury
country
retreat?
Not
sure.
Oh,
P.S.
the
walls
are
super
thin,
we
could
hear
everything
happening
all
around
us,
speaking,
TV
and
other
activities..
They
give
you
earplugs
so
I
guess
this
isn’t
the
first
time
someone
has
pointed
this
out.
