Booked a one night stay here after seeing it was listed in the Sunday Times best places to stay, and has great reviews on here but we were left disappointed. Perhaps it was because we visited on a Monday, but the service was really slow and guests were having to clear tables themselves outdoors in order to sit down. The room was great though and really comfy, while the service improved for dinner service. However we were disappointed again at breakfast. The portions were small, the toast was rock hard and some things were not available with no clear explanation from the staff. Felt like we paid premium prices for a less than average experience.

Yet again another fabulous visit. James was so attentive and remembered us from previous visits. The food as usual was top notch and just what was needed. The atmosphere is wonderful, exposed beams and bright and with a warm feel. Comfortable sofas at the entrance and a long wrap around bar made ordering easy. This is a true find, with a wonderful team of caring and hard working individuals who cater to every need. We love going here and will be back again.

During the August bank holiday we were looking for a Soho Farmhouse alternative and found Wild Thyme & Honey. A few hours outside of London we arrived to a nice location, welcomed with a non alcoholic drink too. We paid a bit extra for a river view room which was on the first floor. The room was very nice, comfy bed, big bath and decor that shouts country retreat. We enjoyed a cup of tea and a sip of some local gin, all at no extra cost. The venue overall looks great, it’s warm and comforting and the food at the restaurant is actually very good, the Prawn Thai curry is a must-have, absolutely delicious. The majority of the staff were very pleasant and attentive but unfortunately we found the service to be a mixed bag overall. On our first night we waited 1 hour for a portion of bread to snack on and at the restaurant our starters took over an hour to arrive too. They were very proactive and offered refunds without us asking but it wasn’t great to see. I would also suggest they give more than 1 bottle of water per room, we tried to get another from the pantry a couple of times but they just weren’t available. There’s also no phone in the room and no one answered when we called on our mobile. Overall it’s a lovely place to visit with some great walking routes nearby. The people there are friendly and the venue is beautiful. In saying that, we both felt the place seems a bit confused, is it meant for elderly locals or younger people from the city looking for a luxury country retreat? Not sure. Oh, P.S. the walls are super thin, we could hear everything happening all around us, speaking, TV and other activities.. They give you earplugs so I guess this isn’t the first time someone has pointed this out. 3.5 out of 5.

We had an absolutely amazing time at this hotel. The room was clean and very cosy. The staff were warm and super friendly. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious as was the breakfast in the morning. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We had 2 nights here a week ago. Delicious food, fantastic service, beautiful surroundings. So why the 4 Stars? A note to the owners; The staff, albeit working their absolute socks off to ensure the guests had everything they needed, were working too hard and doing too many hours. This wasn’t simply an observation, this was having spoken to two of them. Please make sure your team are being looked after properly, so they can then look after your business properly. This is from a fellow hospitality “lifer” of 25 yrs and counting.

Just the one night here, but wish we’d booked for longer. Great location, the rooms, bar and restaurant are all very well appointed and the attention to detail is subtle but makes for a great look and feel for your stay. Staff were all friendly and attentive, food and drink were of a good standard and the furnishings and layout made for a relaxing time.

Stopped here for lunch was really busy when we got there. As soon saw this lovely place it looked inviting. The staff were friendly and welcoming and helpful. There is plenty of parking. Plenty of seating inside with upstairs seating, and a nice area to sit and relax. Outside has plenty of seating with seating under a canopy with sheep rugs to sit on also pods. The food is cooked fresh and served hot. Even though the meals were lovely I didn't think portion sizes matched the price especially as only got 3 tiny cubes of pork, but again was nice. It is clean and tidy and well decorated inside. There is accommodation but didn't see the rooms. This is situated between Cirencester and Bibury and Stow with lovely scenery whichever way you go. I would recommend this place and go again. Might even try a room next time.

Just had a weekend away here last weekend with my wife and it was fantastic! Really welcoming and relaxing setting, away from the world with lots of home comforts. We enjoyed some amazing food, brilliant service from the team, everyone super friendly and chatty. Breakfast options were lovely (photo of the pancakes attached) and the evening meal was lovely. There are a few areas to sit, either by the fire more privately, out in pods or on benches and tables with throws and cushions in a social bar setting. Rooms are all individual and have a rustic character. Home made sloe gin to try in your room as well as underfloor heating in the bathroom. Comfy bed and a really nice feel to the room on arrival. Magical. Highly recommend this place! P.s. one thing you will note is the earplugs provided... use them, as dogs are allowed to stay and even snoring between rooms can be heard without them.

Absolutely excellent hotel! I was very impressed with everything at Wild Thyme & Honey from the room to the food to the staff. They really go the extra mile and pay attention to detail. It is the little things that matter, such as asking you before you arrive what your preference is for the type of tea in your room. Many extras were included such as pillow spray, bath salts, bottles of water, etc. All staff were welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent, we had both breakfast and dinner. I highly recommend Wild Thyme & Honey, we will certainly be staying here again.

Wild Thyme & Honey was our wedding venue. The hotel and pub are so pretty, the village is perfect for a stroll and taking wedding photos, and we must have had a comment from every single guest about how incredible the food was (the pie and sticky toffee were amazing!) Not only is the space gorgeous, the food great and the surrounding area so peaceful, the team have been absolutely exceptional. Georgie and Connie were so great to work with and they really delivered on the big day. They calmed my nerves, helped our suppliers and ensured the day ran smoothly. We can't thank them enough for going above and beyond for us. Thanks Georgie, Connie and all of the team, you made our big day so so special. We can't wait to go back to the pub over the years and reminisce about our big day ❤️

I love this place. Staff great from the first interaction, if only other place did the same simple thing makes all the difference to start the evening. We had many dishes from the menu as there were 4 of us and 2 paws on the floors. If you have never been there are many areas to eat in, the river side, outside pods, patios, heated garden spaces, private dinning rooms 2, and of course the restaurant. Any excuse to go then do it you will not be disappointed.

This place is trying to be something it is not. When we arrived for lunch they didn't have a table in the restaurant and it was only at our suggestion that we were able to be seated in the lounge area. When we went to order drinks we were told there was no beer as they had forgotten to turn on the refrigeration (my local serves it's beer from a barrel behind the bar, which is definitely not refrigerated). Despite saying it would be fine to have bitter at room temperature the barman refused to serve it. When I went to the gents toilets one of the two cubicles was marked as out of order and the other was filled near to the rim with paper and it looked like someone had been sick in it. I immediately pointed this out to a member of staff and she said she would do something about it. An hour later I went back to the toilets after our lunch and nothing had been done. The toilet was still in a disgusting state and unusable. The only plus point about the whole experience was that the food was actually OK. In my view, the management need to spend less time dressing up the staff to look as though they are 'peaky blinders' actors and focus on delivering a bit more quality to their customers.

We recently had our wedding at the Wild Thyme & Honey and I cannot recommend it enough, it was the most magical day from start to finish and that comes down to the absolutely amazing & seamless planning, preparing, and service on the day we had from the team (Georgie, Connie, Vinnie and Adrian) - you were all absolutely brilliant. A special mention to Georgie our wedding coordinator who was on it from day 1 and made us feel so special, confident, relaxed - she had everything under control and on the day was all over the finest of details. We have visited the Wild Thyme several times over the last year and every visit has been more special than the last, we have been made to feel so welcome every time and enjoyed ourselves even more and more - the staff, the food, the service, the rooms are stunning and 5 starts across the board. We cannot wait until the next time we return, it will always be a very special place for us !

This is a lovely small hotel in a very pretty area. All the staff were most welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. It was a real delight to be treated as special guests, as I’m sure everyone else was. Very comfortable bed and lovely bedding with some nice personal touches in the room. Beautiful decor throughout the hotel and some lovely outdoor areas for drinking and Dinning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Wild Thyme and Honey and will definitely be returning, hopefully with more friends to enjoy the experience with us. . Thank you to all the staff who made our stay so special.

I honestly can’t wait to go back. We’ve had such a fantastic experience this weekend. I don’t think I’ve been wowed this much by any other establishment and to know I have been to some expensive places in my time this gem really hits the nail with everything! The customer service level here is beyond exceptional and I’d like to express my gratitude to the amazing staff that work here and made our stay special. We stayed in a lovely king room and the room was gorgeous along with all the little extra touches added. The food was amazing and cooked to perfection, and for such a great price. Breakfast was tasty and very generous! I can’t recommend this place enough. I was genuinely sad leaving but hopefully we will be back soon!

What a lovely hotel, the rooms are well appointed with everything you might need, we stayed in a Riverside suite and it had a roll-top bath in the room as well as a separate bathroom with shower. The half bottle of slow gin in the room was a lovely touch. All of the staff were very polite, friendly and couldn't do enough to ensure our stay was perfect.

Very welcoming and quite fancy hotel in a really beautiful location. Rooms small but well equipped with babbling Brook outside window. Whole hotel very clean and homely, with open fires, glass roofs and lots of armchairs. Excellent food (especially breakfast) and very dog friendly with gifts and dog beds in the rooms. Great spots to sit outside and you can even rent bikes, umbrellas and wellingtons. Will be going back !!

Fantastic stay, the staff went out of their way to help, having turned up desperately needing room to stay for weeding as our other accommodation was a sofa bed! They found a room in plenty of time which allowed me and my wife to get ready in luxury and return much later to a lovely bed. The drench shower helped to cure part of the hangover the following morning and the fantastic breakfast cured the rest! Highly recommend it and will be staying again for a more gentle and organized weekend in the future. Once again thank you for saving us in our hour of need!

Such a fabulous boutique hotel in the village of Ampney Brook. We only had a night and wish we had more. Our room overlooked the river and was beautifully furnished and included a luxurious deep bath. The hotel is attached to the Crown pub which is gorgeous inside and had a large outdoor drinking area. Highly recommended.

We stayed here for a wedding - the rooms are absolutely beautiful and well thought through. We had a very comfortable bed, cosy but spacious room and gorgeous shower room. The wedding was excellent and all the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and genuine. I thought the food was exceptional at all times, especially given the large party that they were catering for and there was a really extensive breakfast menu. The location is stunning, my only complaint is that we were having such a great time at the wedding, we didn’t have enough time to enjoy what the local area had to offer and wished we could have stayed for longer! Hoping we can return for a short break soon so we can make the most of the room, location and food.

Really enjoyed our stay. Slight confusing with booking but was dealt with successfully by a great team. food was lovely and the service was amazing, even during the busy period. Also, a great bar man who knew his drinks! Nice area to walk too.

Myself and sister had an amazing one night stay here and were upgraded to an amazing riverside room! The room was immaculate and clean and the decor gave it such a lovely feel. The staff were very helpful and polite. We will definitely be visiting again!

We arrived home yesterday after a fabulous stay at this hotel. Everything about this place is absolutely perfect. The room was simply beautiful including all the extra little touches and the staff were amazing and all were super welcoming and friendly. This was our first trip away with a dog and we had reservations about if it would be a success, but every member of staff treated Coco like she was a mini celebrity. Have already looked to rebook, but so far I’ve had no luck finding any availability.

Stayed here for a weekend away and can say that it is somewhere that is both luxurious and homely. On the first night, we stayed in No.3 London Road, which is "the best room in the house" with a private sauna and hot tub. The room itself was amazing with a huge bathroom, four poster bed and mini bar in the lounge area. The views onto the farm and surrounding area were breathtaking and I couldn't fault anything. On the second night we stayed in one of the riverside suites, which was also lovely, but just not as nice as the luxurious room from the night before. One small criticism would be the volume of the music played in the outside area that could be heard from the room. The food at the crown, I would say was OK. The breakfast on day one was warm rather than hot and had clearly been sitting on the pass for longer than it should have been. We ensured that on the second day we specified that the plates came out hot and everything was fine. The food for dinner was lovely, however, the dessert of sticky toffee pudding was sent back as it was stone cold and inedible. On the second day the dinner in the private globes couldn't be faulted and our hostess Sophie was lovely. If you can book it, it's a must! All in all, the stay was great and we would love to go back and won't hesitate to recommend it to others. All of the staff are friendly and attentive, which is what you expect from a boutique hotel. Highly recommended!
