Great local park with excellent facilities. Perfect for a running workout, a walk with the dog, birthday party or social gathering. One of the nicest community parks I've been to in the USA. Never felt unsafe or in danger, and always well lit. Community Gym gear available including pull up bars and such around the loop.

I enjoy walking here most of the time but when it gets crowded it’s longer fun. Group s of people take up the the whole walk way. But other than that this place is great. The stairs are a great workout. I am glad this park is in my area. I do wish there was a dog park.

VBs favorite park! Lakeside views, track, mountain to fly your kits or have a picnic. It’s great for families, safe, clean and has plenty to do. Kids park, skate park are, riding bikes, and shelters if needed. I come here often and set up on a secluded side of the lake which offers beautiful views and a serene atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. Everyone keeps to themselves and does their own thing ( mostly bike riding and working out) always a good idea for walls or picnics

The summer carnival spans from the end of May to the first 3 weeks of June caught my attention. There's a lot to do here, even when the carnival is not here. Multiple people were hosting parties and grilling out. Other were flying kites, sitting on the hill ooking over the lake and some where driving R/C cars. The number one activities... kids rolling down the hill. :)

I had a wonderful time. I hadn't been to Mount Trashmore and over 24 years. Me and my family have a blast! My oldest had fun at the skatepark and that some very great skaters. My babies had fun walking up the hill and rolling down. It's a park for everyone!

Lovely park. No admission or parking fees. Lots of parking spaces in multiple lots. Lots of paths, steps and hills to get a nice workout in…or a stroll. Nice play area for the kids. Bathrooms and vending machines available in main parking area.

Ample parking, safe place to walk/run (unless you get chased by the geese...in that case, you can add free entertainment to list of perks). The sunrises here are beautiful.

It was a good park. The biggest thing it is lacking is shade. On a hot summer day it is nice to have shady spots. Especially when you get a workout up a steep inclince. It is a good place to go for a run. Or just a stroll. The kids could bike or skate around a bit. I think the view with the lake. As far as hiking it is not great. But in this area there is little elevation change, so this is the best you can expect. You could spend a few hours with the family here. Have a picnic. It is a nice getaway. Overall a good park.

Went there for the water lantern festival this year (2023). It had just recently rained the last couple of days and surprisingly the ground was not an entire swamp land. Not many places in Norfolk hold up after it rains. The venue is nice and spacious. The place is definitely kid and pet friendly. There is some handicap access for events but no ramps to reach the summit of the mount so be cautious with strollers, wagons, and wheelchairs. Public restrooms are nice and clean. For those looking to get a fun workout outside done there is tons to do from climbing the steps to running the lake side. Really nice place to relax at and chill for the day.

Definitely a great place to get some wiggles out on a trip. Kids didn’t want to leave. Walked to the top of the hill and they wanted to roll down but definitely too much goose poop to allow that ha. Have restrooms too.

At first all you see is a small mountain, (two this) #1. If you consider yourself a local you MUST CLIMB IT, PERIOT. #2 if you've never been here take a few deep breaths before you see the other side of the mountain because it WILL TAKE TOUR BREATH AWAY! It's so beautiful! I went to to participate in the water lantern 🏮 festival and it was magical! All in it's a wonderful place to spend time alone, with your family, or with a loved one/lover.

This place a wonderful spot to spend time with your family. Whether u have kids or not there's something for everyone here. They have a huge kiddie park for the children to enjoy, there's also a skate park for the skater boys and a trail to walk the whole area. I also seen some people fishing hopefully they're throwing it back. There's also many picnic tables and seating to enjoy.

A small yet busy park in the Virginia Beach area. Very active with people walking, jogging, running, biking, fishing, and people just having their kids play on the playground. Great workout spot, you can run the hill or run laps. Different bathroom stations, clean, I went in the daytime felt safe. Nice views good fun time.

Who would have a thought a decommissioned landfill could become a beautiful park, but here we are. Exceeded my expectations! Great trails, beautiful views of the nearby ponds, which apparently has decent sized bass in it, from what I’m told. Along the trails that go around the ponds, there is a skate park with a huge half pipe, playgrounds, picnic areas, exercise equipment, and even a little exercise area designed for people 50 and older or with disabilities which I thought was awesome.

Water Lantern Festival was An emotional experience to have the opportunity to remember some of that loss. To have the chance to speak the story of missing someone you lost or suffering from mental health. Please remember you are okay, and there is help. I Lost my son and mom; it was an honor to remember them 🥰 Now, let me discuss the event; so much to say; you have to be there to understand. On to the family fun, There were a lot of vendors, music, lawn games a scavenger hunt. I enjoyed sitting near the water. I forgot to finish. The food. I had Volcanic Fries, did not disappoint, and don't let the picture of my Po Boy fool you. The line speaks for itself. You can find the truck at various festival

Came across this park while spending some time in the area. It is clean and well kept. The park is large, but not overwhelming. It appears to be in a nice location.

Great park in general, with wide walking/running paths, playgrounds and various amenities. I like going there for running because they have nice pathways, restrooms, water bottle filling stations, and lots to look at so the run doesn't get boring. Great place to go to fly a kite, let the kids play, have a picnic, exercise, fish, or go to a special event, etc.

I had not been to Mt. Trashmore in over 30 years, and I was so pleased to see how it has been maintained. Went on a truly stunning fall day, there were all kinds of folks, ru ni g, walking, bbq'ing, and just enjoying. It is a garbage-free zone, manicured, and quiet. The views (as I remembered from childhood) are excellent. Good job VB parks and rec.

This park truly brings all Hampton Roads park lovers, young and old, romantics, nature lovers and health enthusiasts. With plenty of parking available, a playground, a beautiful lake with plenty of nearby benches to sit and enjoy the view, tables to spread out and enjoy outdoor meals, lots of exercise equipment built in, paths and walkways. It also has hilly terrain and steps, clean public restrooms and staff that are walking around ensuring the place is well kept. It even has a stage that has been the venue of plenty of events and festivals such as Ohanafest and Filipino festival and Water Lantern Festival.

Nice park with great equipment and lots of hills! A long path runs along the entire park for walking, biking and running. Beautiful place to just sit and watch the world go by. Enjoy !

A converted abandoned landfill until a park. Very high usage from runners, walkers and some doing just the stairs. 60 feet high and 800 feet long a great free outdoor space for everyone to enjoy. Has two man-made mountains, two lakes, two playgrounds, a skate park and paths all around. There are picnic areas, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, vending machines. Check it out I had wanted to go for the lantern festival but missed it this year. I'll check it out next year

The park is wonderful. Parking was difficult. We went in the evening thinking it would be less crowded but we found it to be very busy because of the carnival. Great place for family fun!
