Recently visited Eleni’s Kitchen & Bar with a big group of family (approx 20ppl) expecting to have a beautiful experience, eating high quality Greek food. Unfortunately, we experienced the complete opposite! The quality of the food was disappointing. Meatballs were charcoal burnt on the outside and raw on the inside. We were given chicken that was also raw, leaving us hesitant to eat anything more. The staff were somewhat understanding and attempted to make some meals again, however the new food was still the same, appalling. Photos attached! Lastly we were informed when booking that it’s a set menu. However we were given platters that didn’t cater for the number of guests… 6 dinner rolls for 23 people… 4 skewers between 6 people… no galaktoboureko.. we left paying an excessive amount but tummies weren’t full and instead filled with disappointment and dissatisfaction! LUCKILY, company was beautiful! Will be going somewhere else on our next annual catch-up.

From the food to the service and decor, Eleni's offers a wonderful, authentic Greek experience with delicious food and lovely staff. My partner and I sat in the outside area that had a beautiful mural along the wall. I had the stuffed eggplant, he had the meatballs, and we shared a halloumi/rock melon salad. I didn't think we'd finish it all but the heartiness of the dishes made it easy.

Probably the most authentic Greek restaurant I’ve been to in Melbourne. From the hospitality of the waiter to of course the taste of the food. It was a great evening. We ordered the meat platter for three which could easily have been shared by 4 or 5. Papoutsakia was excellent! They also had some outstanding specials including a dish with long horn peppers which was our favourite. Saganaki was a classic! And their dips are a must try. All the food arrived within 10 minutes of one another - we left feeling very very full which is a shame because their desserts sounded and looked unbelievable!

It was a mutual decision th book Eleni's for our Wedding Anniversary Dinner. The music at the atmosphere was classic! The staff were quick and attentive. Our food came out in a timely manner. Needles to say we couldnt eat it all and opted to takeawy .. Yummo. We highly recommend Elenis Greek Restuarant for all your dining functions! Parking is challenging at night bookings so we opted for the aftrenoon lunch sitting.

Had dinner here last night and wow the food was delicious! The entree scallops and main Lamb Gyros were my fave. Friendly service and we felt very welcome. Will be back.

There is a reason why you would eat Greek at an originally Greek suburb like Yarraville, where the streets are lined with Olive Trees. A random walk-in, we ordered the seafood platter and the special entree and were incredibly happy by food and service. The platter is a real feast, like a good Greek party. Will certainly visit again and will try the more traditional day-to-day foods next. Superb and recommended

It is named in honour of their yiayia, Eleni and her recipes feature in their traditional menu. 🇬🇷 With a group of 12 we enjoyed “Eleni’s Banquet” and at $60pp we were very well fed, so much so there was even plenty to take home. The vegetarians were provided alternatives for the meat dishes. The standouts would be the Fried Calamari, Mixed Dips with Bread, Papoutsakia and Lamb Gyros which all had great flavour. The dishes we thought lacked was the Fish which was abit rubbery, the meats were cooked well done and the Baklava had whole nuts inside. Being Greek ourselves we have all got a lot to compare to, the food was definitely tasty and traditional. Eleni’s regularly hosts Greek Taverna Nights with banquets, live music, dancing and of course - plate smashing.

Each time my family come here we have an amazing experience. This time around it was just me and my wife and we enjoyed having our lunch at the outdoor area Dimitri's Garden. The food was awesome (delicious) and the desert Galaktobouriko and Baklava was divine. We cannot wait to go back again.

This place came highly recommended from Google ratings, it didn't disappoint at all. We were recommended the flounder, and we also ordered the meat platter. The flounder was to die for, awesome recommendation. We will definitely be back.

Excellent option for anyone that loves Greek food or has been wanting to try it. The menu offers everything you can wish for. Meat platter was amazing and super tasty and is great for everyone that loves meat or would like to indulge in and get to know Greek BBQ. Also loves the different entrees and the home made bread. Greek wine too! Service was top notch and staff some of the friendliest I’ve seen. Prices were very competitive! Can’t recommend it enough.

We enjoyed Eleni's Tavern night and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Delicious selection of food, live music, belly dancing , plate breaking... it was FUN! we Loved it.

First time trying this restaurant and I can not fault it. Amazing authentic Greek food. Took be back to my Greek holiday I had a few years ago. We had the fish of the day and chicken gyros amazing. Will be back again soon and would recommend this restaurant to all who are looking for a authentic Greek experience. Big shout out to the staff exceptional service, very hard to come by these days.

Big plates, excellent service. Amazing desserts!! Galaktoboureko comes as a huge piece and it's very good.. but the baklava ice cream was an exciting surprise.. it's a must try as I've never had it or seen in another Greek restaurant before.

What a delightful find... Cocktails for fun and food and dessert we're a palates dream. Staff we're friendly and full of smiles, while being extremely helpful. Can't wait to return!

Dropped in for a celebratory family lunch. Service was amazing, laid back and on point. Food, absolutely brilliant. Gyros, saganaki, grilled calamari, lemon potatoes🙏 ….and the coffee…. What a way to finish a perfect lunch. Thankyou for an amazing experience.

Wow. What an experience. Amazing food, amazing service, amazing taverna like atmosphere. Middle of winter but we sat out in the back garden area and it was warm and toasty with the gas heaters going. Shout out to the biggest gem, Γιάννης who looked after us all night, recommending the best food, items that “weren’t on the menu” and for the complimentary port. The food was traditional, delicious and came out so quickly. Some of the best hospitality I’ve ever experienced. A fun and memorable evening.

Eleni’s Kitchen is one of a kind and one of our favourite Greek restaurants in Melbourne. It is so authentic and the flavours are so amazing. Food is definitely a 10/10 😍👏 Staff are so friendly and welcoming, they really take the time to get to know you and provide you with a memorable experience which is what we received on our visit to Eleni’s Kitchen! We ordered Eleni’s Banquet for 2 ($60 per person) which included Saganaki, dips and bread to start which were so filling. The dips were so delicious too! Next we got a seafood and meat platter. This was a great size and definitely worth it for 2 people. The platter had calamari, prawns, fish of the day, lamb and chicken gyros, lamb cutlets, loukaniko and Greek rissoles. This was so so amazing, flavours were so authentic and traditional. The dish also came with roasted lemon potatoes (these were mouth watering) and a Greek salad! For dessert, which is apart of the banquet, we got a piece of Baklava to share and the option of tea or Greek coffee! It was a lovely way to end the meal. We would highly recommend visiting Eleni’s kitchen for the best, authentic Greek food in Melbourne. Thank you for having us! ❤️

Went here for a dinner for 2 adults+ 2 kids; it was our first time at the restaurant and the food was amazing! I'm normally very picky with my food and we've been to various well known Greek restaurants in Melbourne, Northcote, Brunswick, Oakleigh etc but haven't had such great food for a long time. We ordered grilled calamari, meat platter for two & feta chips. Food was flavourful, well marinated and good. Service and atmosphere was also great. Very cosy restaurant, great for date nights or dinner and drinks. So glad we found this hidden gem even though we drove some 20km to eat here, we will definitely be back with the extended family. The family's legacy is also an interesting read and it's great to see the tradition continuing with the next generation.

The shared meat platter was absolutely delicious - the flavours were unmatched unlike I've ever had before and the meat was cooked perfectly. Our group of three also enjoyed the fire-roasted red peppers marinated in mint and feta and shared a rather large baklava for dessert which was also beautiful and a perfect balance of flavours. Lovely service, I'd highly recommend for small groups or couples and I have no doubt I'll be back again!

Friendly & quick service. The chicken gyros was very tasty, you get that nice charcoal taste. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for the home made meatballs. Very saucy, that’s all I could taste. You get 4 meat patties & a few lemon potatoes. Not worth the price you pay for them. Front entrance not wheel chair accessible, but there is a flat back entrance & toilet there as well.

Had the Dmitri's banquet twice now with a group of friends and have loved it both times. Definitely a must for the Greek food lovers out there and those yet to experience it.

My husband and I dined here on Saturday night and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Delicious food, amazing vibe and 10/10 service. We had the potato dip, saganaki, meatballs and moussaka. Definitely going back this time with our children. Very child friendly :)

We visit Elleni'a Kitchen in Yarraville often as it is our favourite restaurant. From the moment we walk in we feel special as the staff are so super friendly! Every dish is amazing but one of our favourites is the Ouzo Meatballs so they alway send us a message when they are on the specials board • and wow they never disappoint! It's a family friendly restaurant and my 13 year old devours the lamb cutlets. And don't get me started on the deserts! A great wine list with a mix of local and Greek options as well as a great array of cocktails. Beautiful food and service. The team at Eleni's served beautiful food for my friend and I. The Papoutsakia was absolutely beautiful. My friend's entrees were divine and the service was excellent. The atmosphere was warm, lively and welcoming. I'm very grateful that the team looked after my friend and I and got us a table as I had just come in after work. Very nice restaurant. Ordered meat platter and merlot from Greece. Meat on the platter was okay but we felt it was a bit dry. Prefer juicier meats. The tzatziki sauce was great. The greek salad was great. Value for money we felt. Wine was also great. Atmosphere was nice. Staff were very friendly. Overall happy to give a 5.

The most tasty and succulent slow roasted lamb shoulder on the bone I have ever tasted, delicious roast potatoes, dips, home made bread…..oh my I can’t wait to go back and work my way through the menu. Dessert was AMAZING!!! Highly recommend

We went on New Years Eve (early sitting as with elder member of family). It was a fixed menu inc starters, a fish course, a meat course and desserts, also available on normal menu. Everything served was delicious and expectations from other reviews exceeded. We will definitely be back again to enjoy the warm hospitality and amazing food. Note there was a veggie and vegan alternatives available on the feasting menu.

Amazing food, service and atmosphere. I got the chicken Gyros and I was very impressed. The meat was amazing and all my friends were satisfied. Would definitely recommend for any occasion!

Excellent service and great food. We did the Elenis banquet and were worried the food wouldnt be enough. Not only was it enough but there was left overs from our meat platters. Food was authentic, staff were warm, helpful and happy to recommend authentic dishes we would normally shy away from. The florines piperies were to die for (waiter recommend). Deserts were the best ive tasted. Great selection of alcohol and an awesome selection of ouzo. Fresh, tasty and fast service, an easy 5 star rating for this one. Elenis also had weekly food give aways for the community throughout covid lockdown, this is a local business that gave back to the community for weeks on end. Get behind them!! OPA!!
