Was so happy I rang Happy Valley when I couldn’t find my daughter’s requested vinyls just before her birthday at other stores. Regardless of purchase method I have always been satisfied with the service, price and selection of physical media. Not to mention the speedy delivery times and care taken in packing the vinyls. All of these positives has cemented them as my go to location for vinyl.

Honestly really happy with my experience, turned a negative into a positive and I couldn't be happier. Ordered two vinyl's from them, however one came with a torn sleeve (not at the fault of them, they come really secure), let them know, within the same day I was offered a full refund for it. Seriously appreciate what you're doing out here.

Long time customer, but will never go back after today. Walked into the store holding a coffee (as I’ve done many times before) and proceeded to look at vinyl for a few minutes - only to have a pretentious staff member rudely kick me out the store for having a drink. Looked around and noticed at least 3 other people holding drinks that were not asked to leave. I don’t mind following the rules, it’s the tone in which I was kicked out that was the problem. I hope it was worth losing a long time customer for something so trivial. Furthermore, if so many were in the store holding drinks, perhaps you reassess the placement of the sign that says ‘no food or beverages allowed’. Seems to be missed by many including myself. Walked up the street and purchased my vinyl from Plug 7 holding my coffee. Suggest checking them out for friendly service. *Update* Stop embellishing your responses to negative reviews. It wasn’t ‘one of your staff members’ - it was you, Chris the owner of Happy Valley. I wasn’t violent or threatening. I responded to you in the tone that you spoke to me. You didn’t ask me politely to leave - you were aggressive and tried to stare me down when I questioned if you were being serious. This time someone stood up to you. There are other reviews that make reference to your rude and condescending behaviour. Other readers, take note on the way Chris responds to negative reviews. Never taking accountability, threatening legal action, etc. It paints a clear picture of who the proprietor is. The other staff are great, which is the basis for the positive reviews. There are also dozens of other small businesses in Collingwood that deserve your business.

A relative newcomer to the scene, Happy Valley Vinyl has been a welcomed addition to the Melbourne record trail in Fitzroy/Collingwood. Occupying the back half of a bookstore are walls and shelves brimming with new release vinyl. If each record store in town had a superpower, Happy Valley’s would be their ability to import new releases, particularly limited editions, and have them hit shelves before anyone else. In some cases, Happy Valley may be the only place in Australia where you can find particular pressings. For the most part their prices are competitive, they have an extensive and regularly updated website which includes pre-order option, and they constantly have sales on overstock and bargain copies with very minor imperfections. I go to this place to buy all my vinyls since starting my collection. They always have special pressings and good quality non damaged vinyls with great variety including hard to find artists lost to eBay reselling. Their online service is incredible as well offering free click and collect. They also do shipping which is really fast! Some of them come next day even when you place an order last the night before. All vinyls come wonderfully packaged I’ve never had any damage. Staff is friendly and ready to help and the store looks great. #happyvalleyvinyl is an incredible and easy to navigate shop (both in store and online). I’ve purchased vinyl from here both in person and online and the process was so easy and I’ve never have an issue within the store or with the vinyl. When buying online, the checkout process was so simple and easy and the parcel was packaged with care to avoid damage and arrive very quickly. And they’re always getting new stock in so you never need to worry about waiting long if something you wanted sold out. I can’t wait to visit again in a few days. Been searching for a record for my husband for Chrimbas, as big vinyl collectors we like to make sure we get something from each other’s wish list on Santa’s birthday! Searched high and low via my local WA stores, so had to jump online. I was flooded with a lot of dropshipping Aussie places, seems a lot of online-only stores have popped up recently, and they don’t keep stock on hand - high prices and bad overseas shipping? No thanks! My search eventually lead to me to Happy Valley, and after a pleading email, I got a prompt response about expected stock times and was thrilled to eventually nab the album. Bought a vinyl LP on-line for my son for his birthday, and the experience was easy and simple. Chose click and collect and gift wrapping as part of the customer experience and wasn’t disappointed. Went to the store, said I was picking up an album and it was quickly presented to me as I had requested. My son was wrapped (pardon the pun) with his present and that he got it on his birthday. Great shop to purchase gifts for family and friends, or an interesting read for yourself. The range of books I would describe as eclectic unique. There are vinyls at the back of the store too. I didn't get enough time to look in depth but I found most of the stuff pretty cool and purchased a few things as gifts.
