It was the wonderful smell of the spices that drew us into the restaurant. We were planning to walk the length of Salamanca Place and choose a restaurant for dinner, but we couldn't go past Annapurna. Cooper, the front of house staff member was bubbly, polite and professional. The rest of the staff were equally as courteous. But the most important thing was the food. It did not disappoint. It was delicious. We chose the 'Just Mains' banquet option. 3 curries as chosen by the chef with an assortment of naan and condiments. We tried our best to finish them, the servings were so generous, they could have fed 3 people. We will definitely return.

Annapurna at Salamanca holds a special place in the hearts of my family and friends. I have been a patron of this restaurant, and it continues to draw me back thanks to its inviting ambience, exceptional culinary offerings, welcoming staff and efficient service. Amidst my experiences at various Indian restaurants, Annapurna in Salamanca stands out as a highly recommended gem. Our meal compromised mouth watering dishes such as butter chicken, goan prawn curry, fried prawns, fragrant basmati rice, garlic naan, cheese naan, refreshing mango lassi, traditional gulab jamoon, coffee, chai, crispy papadam, and divine pistachio kulfi. Complimentary rice accompanied by any curry selection.😋😋😋😋😋

We visited Hobart for a couple days and ate here twice. I often don’t like eating Indian food outside of home, but the food here was delicious! I especially liked the saag paneer. They have a whole section of the menu with vegetarian options. The service was very nice as well.

Came to Tassie for a holiday, went to this restaurant for the dinner with my partner but it was such a horrible experience. We ordered snacks and main course together, got snacks in like less than 10 minutes but we waited about 20 minutes when one of the girls came to take our order. We placed the order and then 10 mins later other girl (with long black hair) came and asked us in a very arrogant way, if we are at least now ready for the order. We told her we have already placed the order, then she said ok and left. Then after waiting for another 20 minutes, we decided to leave the place. So we ended up with no dinner. Well, my opinion is it’s better not to waste time in here. 👎

The food arrived on time, customer service was really good, food was average I would say but the food quality was great. The environment was also pretty nice. We ordered for special thali and seafood thali with some starters, everything arrived on time without any delays. On the desert we ordered for mango kulfi, kulfi was really delicious. If you are in the city area and looking for a restaurant dinner with some drinks, this would be your place.

Surprised by the negative reviews. I’ve eaten a lot of Indian food over the years, and this was well above average. Goat curry was decent, chicken tikka excellent, saag paneer had plenty of flavour. Enthusiastic service too. Thanks.

Beef vindaloo sauce was ok but very mild. Almost zero heat. Beef was quite dry and flavourless. Butter chicken sauce was very sweet and not pleasant. Rice was ok. I understand everyone has a preference on how things should taste, but this definitely wasn’t for me. Wish I’d spent my money elsewhere in the many options nearby.

Beautiful Indian cuisines. Awesome atmosphere. Friendly staff. And their manager lady is so welcoming and greeted every customer. Will come back again when we visit Hobart next time.

The platter was so bad, sheek kabab was like rubber and dry not juicy first time I'm seeing a red color sheek kabab. Chicken tikka was cooked well but the spice didn't blend through the chicken.Lamb cutlet was ok. Nan and roti was really soft Thali was average the beef curry in the thali was just like eating junk of cooked beef the meat was just added to the gravy so it did not have the flavour. Biryani was worst it was just like eating masala rice with meat and not value for the money.Definetly worst biryani ever Prawn curry was good the prawns was cooked to the perfection. Overall the food is really not up to the standard and way below average and definitely not worth the dollars smaller joints would have done a better job than this at a reasonable price . We use to eat in this restaurant before and the food was up to the standard now recent times we tried in both the branches but the quality and taste is very bad will not return back and definitely will not recommend to any family or friends

Great place for Indian foods. Interior looks modern with traditional touch. Like it. Not like other Indian restos with red and green LED lights. Staffs were friendly and attentive, look after customers’ experience with their foods. Price is fair for the foods’ size and experience. Taste was okay. Never been to India before. So no complaints on it. Prices for take away is 2$ less than dining in.

Generally good food (and relatively vegan friendly) and a good ambience to the place but my last couple of meals have been a little disappointing. Most recently the meal was over-seasoned and in particular was too salty, which overwhelmed all other flavours. My dining partner has been similarly disappointed the last two times we've visited. On the positive side, unlike so many restaurants, they serve you fairly quickly rather than prioritising takeaways. Reasonably priced as well with decent serving sizes.

The staff there are very friendly and checks on you to make sure everything is all right, like the food and that they got the order right. The food there is great but be careful of what type of spice you want as there are 3 different kinds.

Both mutter panner and Veg Korma(with no nut paste) tasted same with different colour. They forgot the drink which we ordered and served only at the end of the dinner after reiterating. Dissatisfied.

Suriya Banquet is one of the best option in the menu. Where you get different types of starters, curries, naan, rice and ending with beautiful dessert made by them. It could be a good place if you want to give a party to your friends and families with Indian food.

Had reservations for 4 persons at 5.15pm on Sunday. We were the only dined in customers when we arrived. During our ordering, the waitress was impatient and not friendly. Anyway we ordered two sets each of the Special Thali and seafood thali, a side pumpkin dish and a couple of chai tea. The food were served not too long after. Other than the butter chicken in the special thali was too sweet to our liking, we like and enjoy all the others esp the fish curry in the seafood thali. The chai tea was a delight to drink after the meal. We were enjoying our meal a lot and when the other male waiter came over to ask us how we are getting on, we told him to give our compliments to the chef. Why the 3 star rating then? We were still chatting and drinking our tea when the waitress came over and gave us our bill to settle. We had not asked for our bill and her action brought an uncomfortable feeling that she wants us to leave. Feeling abit annoy over this, we paid and left.

An good indian restaurant in the rather buzzing salamanca place, definitely seems like one of popular places with lot of tables and ample seating space! We had the saag panner which we heard is very popular and it was really different and good! Walked away with a question unanswered in my mind as it's a very different business model - why is rice complimentary with every dish? Haha, overall a good dinner experience!

Good Ambience, food was above average portion sizes are decent but lacking in substance. Still a good eat if you're after some curry and spice.

Had a range of dishes amongst five people and all were delicious. Strong aromatic dishes, balanced textures, and perfect naan bread. An ambitious number of seats in the table in addition to takeaway makes me wonder if the place is taking too much on .
