Fiftyfive is probably one of the best lesser known bars in the city. You’ll find drinks and lounge music Monday to Wednesday, and DJ’s Thursday onwards. The diffused lighting, comfy environment and friendly staff make this a great spot to come for a relaxing drink and conversation, there’s a lovely ambience to the space.

a fantastic place, nearly hidden away and got the exclusive "only a few people know" vibe that has a nice chill atmosphere and some good beats to relax and groove to. a good selection of drinks and some personal favourites like Mulled wine on offer, and plenty of nooks and comfy seats for you and friends. great as a after work bar or at the tail end of a crawl just in walking distance to the tram and flinders St. station

Due to the budget cuts this winter... better stick to nice cocktails in crazy good environment. The place to be over the weekend with great staff and nice vibes. Highly recommended for even one drink to try!

A bit hidden away on Elizabeth Street Nice service. A good spot to start your night. It is certainly cosy so you might struggle to get a table at times

This was one of the worst experiences that I had in Melbourne. LADIES DON’T GO THERE!!!!!!!!! This place has so many creepy men that do not respect women privacy. A man joined my table without me giving contest ! And when I wanted to go to the toilet , their toilets are “ uni sex “ which is very scary for a bar. An Indian man came and laughed in front of my face. Their drinks are pretty bad too! Ew it’s such a disgusting place to drink . Completely unsafe for women

I love this bar for its diverse vibes. You can slump on a couch with a whiskey and enjoy a chill conversation, or sit at the bar and enjoy the mastery up close. Lovely staff; sexy lighting and cool tunes. Can’t wait to go back with my girlfriends

Rude bar tender- Mohit (MO) never coming back here again. So sad. No decency at all. Instead of apologising they blame the customer! When I said I had the worse customer service she (the owner) just laughed!

Very rude staff, especially Mohit (MO) . I wanted to order bottle of wine and asked for Wine list. Mohit replied we don’t have wine list just Pinot Noir or Shiraz we have. So I decided to blindly order 2 glasses of Pinot Noir trusting him as you can’t see wine list, when Mohit was pouring wine- requested can I see which wine is it and he totally rudely refused to show the bottle to wine as if he is serving some shity wine. Later he was like let me offer you free drinks, we refused that too as just wanted to know which wine he is serving. So rude and unprofessional. Train your staff and maybe offer litter customer service. I used to come here regularly but now not coming back. I wish could give zero stars.

Cool underground bar. Low-key. Comfy seating options and a few decent beers. Interesting music. Whole place is super trendy / hipster. Good spot to meet mates or perhaps a date.

Super nice little bar, perfect for small groups or couples to come and chat. Drunk prices are average for a cocktail bar, and the music was really nice, more of an old-school vibe playing vinyls the night I was there. Definitely recommend!

Great selection of drinks, mulled cider was very nice. Staff is nice. The atmosphere inside was just superb, very warm and cozy. We tried 2 cocktails there, Night Cap and Subterranean Marg, one tasted like weed, and the other pure alcoholic cough syrup 😭 maybe not to our tastes. The vibe itself is so great I'd recommend! Do try the mulled cider!

Went on a Tuesday night and was greeted by some amazing staff supplying some terrific vibes. Mo and Iris were the 2 bartenders that added to the phenomenal experience that Melbourne has to offer.

The dark lighting with candlelight creates a great atmosphere. Not too noisey and is a nice place to chill.

Pretty good spot that's open quite late and on Mondays! Reasonably priced drinks, comfy lounge seating and cute decor makes this a good spot for a casual drink. The only negative is that when it gets really busy it can be hard to find somewhere to sit or stand that's not in the way.

Visited a bit after opening, plenty of seating available on comfy couches, dim comfortable lighting and fantastic music playing. Service was quick and friendly, price was exactly what you'd expect from the bar in the city but the drinks were fantastic. Cocktails weren't overly sweet, bartender was willing to go off menu and did a great job. Frozen cocktails were also refreshing in the heat and a welcome addition. Good little stop over while out on the city, absolutely worth a drink. Hidden Gem

It's a lovely bar, super cosy inside and full of couches/tables/chairs. But, the venue is very small and on a Saturday night it was completely packed. I sat on a side table as there was literally no other seating available. I recommend coming on a weekday or arriving earlier

Dropped into this basement bar for a quick drink and to keep warm. Staff very friendly, great happy hour prices. It's got a very shabby chic thing going on. Nice place for a drink.

I do like this place and the vibe but the staff could do with some cheering up, I understand covid rules and checking in but if u want to see us actually doing it dont put it at the top of the stairs then say "well I need to see it" when we reach the bottom.. which means having to log in and redo it.. I think the approach could be a bit nicer, tried a few times with friendly interaction, as that's who I am only to be ignored, just advised payment amount..

Used to come here all the time before lockdown. Now that it's been reopened, the place hasn't changed a bit. Amazing atmosphere, good craft beer and mind blowingly good music. With a DJ playing music off vinyls, I always end up shazaming every song.

Cosy, relaxed environment. Tables and seats are a bit closer than desired (making people talk louder) but it's where the fun is.

My favourite bar in Melbourne...actually anywhere. Such a great vibe and friendly staff. We were just walking past one night and stumbled into it. It took me a while to remember the place. I remember the great vibe, the cool beers and synthesiser wall paper in the toilet. I wish we had something similar in my city. Actually probably better we don't as I would probably never leave.

Best LAST STOP on a night out. Friendly staff, great security and lovely underground vibes. Located extremely close to Flinders Street, this is the perfect leg for the start or end of your night. Drinks are fairly priced (spirits) and mixed well. Music and atmosphere is definitely welcoming, and the patronage is also good, never seems to have troublesome or disruptive guests. Would recommend for decent sized groups (4+) trying to catch up and have a good time.

Cute little very Melbourne underground bar with comfy couches, cocktails and happy hour beer and wines. The mini pizzas are ok but won’t win any awards. Would be great if this place had a wider range of snack food to complement the lovely cocktails.

Nice environment, with cool decoration and great music... But there are no many options of beers... And the customers are formed by many young and rude people, which makes the experience not that good! Unfortunately I was questioning twice by other customers if I have drugs, making me uncomfortable. Didn't like the policy which does not allow me to enter by myself, need to be a group to enter. Also didn't like the unisex bathroom, which is tiny and does not allow many people inside at the same time! Do not recommend!

Great location. Terrible cocktails. For a Melbourne trendy venue the bar tender's knowledge and ability was very lacking in cocktails. Pricey and not really worth the money. Many better places for drink quality.

I’ve been coming here for the 9 years , I’ve loved it , had so many good memories , glad it survived covid . I hope it keeps going and will be here another 9 and 9 after that. I’m at an age where life is changing and I know I gotta go with it . But I’m glad e55 is still here and I can rejoice and relax in a place I know that still stayed the same .
