The biggest issue I have here is the customer service. I’ve been to this store 5 times and never have I been served or attended to. You pretty much have to put your hand up like in classroom if you want attention. It isn’t usually like this as I’ve been to the other BN stores in Chadstone & Pacific Fair in Broadbeach and the customer service was much more welcoming. It’s got to the point where I just try the glasses on, then go home and order online. The collection itself is not bad. I did buy a pair and it was ready in 5 days, so I’m impressed with the turnaround. However I feel the collection is more geared towards females and those with smaller heads.

The optometrist was nice. She educated me how nearsighted people still need reading glasses (or multifocal) if they do lots computer works. My sight got much worse because I used one pair glasses for everything 😭 Other staffs there were impatient (couldn’t care less attitude) and one woman were even scary. I learnt everything I need to know on BN website and Google because the staff really didn’t seem like they wanted to converse or give you more info (annoyed even after my first question). They didn’t tell me anything about return and exchange policies when I picked up glasses. Again I learnt those policies on BN web. I really don’t think they ALL have social anxiety like me. If they do, I apologize, will remove this part of comment. Tbh using self servicing machines to replace human would give me better experience at least I won’t feel so unwelcomed. I still like BN though. (Update after 2 months: I love both pairs of my glasses, so will come back because my eyes health is way more important than feeling welcomed)

Always had a good experience at Bailey Nelson. Quick turnaround on new frames and lenses. Staff don’t do the hard sell on upgrades like certain other optometrists. Good quality frames and decent price. One of my frames is from 2014, still going strong.

I get 3 pairs of glasses from this store. 2 sunglasses and 1 normal pair. But the normal glass that I get from here is extremely uncomfortable, couldn’t see very clear, made my eyes very tired, and caused headaches. I tried to adjust it, adding nose pad for it, but still doesn’t help. Even after I wear it for months, my eyes still can’t get used to it. Now I change back to my old pair. And I would never consider getting glasses from them in the future. Working staff don’t understand lenses at all. They are simply sales people who doesn’t care how the lenses work on you.

Absolutely amazing staff. They squeezed me in without an appointment nearing the end of day as I was having problem with my eye and anxious abt it's condition and desperate to have a check up.

It was my first optometrist visit at Bailey and Nelson on 9 September at Melbourne Central. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. I also appreciated the optometrist who looked after me as she was friendly, thorough and made me feel comfortable during the whole visit. The prices were also value for money for the 2 pairs I purchased on the day. Highly recommend! Thanks B&N staff!

These guys are lovely. This shop is run well. They are probably in the busiest location in the city a fashion hub so people really care about their glasses. They are reliable and message you when things are done quickly l, communicate well and fix glasses without charge and have fair prices given the service provided. Also a very convenient location being in the same building as a train station. Thank you.

This is the 4th Bailey Nelson store I've been to, tested at 3. Serial repeat customer as I'm now on my 6th pair of glasses. They are the only optician with frames that are small enough for my face - I get choice! Their service is superb. The opticians are really professional and provide great advice without pushing products on their shelves. They do offer additional screening, but make sure you know the cost when they do so and there's no obligation to say yes. Staff are friendly, helpful and also give great service. There's no Bailey Nelson near me and they are happy to send the glasses to me by courier for a mere $10. Also the opticians offer to email referrals to me so I can get local follow-up on issues as I can't get back to see them. I've also popped into stores to get glasses adjusted and they've been really cheery and welcoming.

Extremely smooth and easy process, from the initial eye examination, to picking frames out, to deciding which add-ons I wanted. The working manager (Ilan, I think his name was?) was so friendly and helpful, I really appreciated his suggestions on which frames suited my face and ended up going with one that he recommended!

The staff here were super lovely! The blonde curly haired staff (sorry i dont know your name!) and the optometrist were kind and really informative. I have been a happy Bailey Nelson customer for about 10 years. This has been because of consistent quality of products at a good price, consistently great service and professional care. However, on this occasion, I was surprised that I could still be delighted by the friendly staff making it a great experience once again.

My girlfriend and me went to buy two boxes of Coopervision Hydrogel lenses fortnightly. It was in August 2021. The person who attended us asked for our medical prescription. After reading it, she said that couldn't sell it. I asked why and she told us that the lens my doctor had described could not be sold. When making the medical appointment we usually do tests with a few lenses and then we choose one, and that I also believe that I don't need to spend the rest of my life wearing the same one. But that's ok because the lens I wanted was the Coopervision again, and that was in my description. But I don't know what else she wanted, she said my description was different from the lens I wanted. I'm not an eye specialist, I just wanted to buy my lens, and if she thinks she needed more information she might have been more than willing to contact the specialist who gave me the prescription or guide the solution, but she didn't give any solution, or did not explain the reason for not accepting my prescription, said that the lens model was different from what was on the prescription but for me it was written there Coopervision Fortnightly and the degree. So if they have some other parameter or something else they should suggest, help, guide, and not just say they don't accept it. After all she told me that she only needed the prescription to check the lens and the degree and nothing else. I said that I had already bought the same lens online and that none of this happened, not even asking for a prescription, and that I already knew which lens was best for me because I had already tried a few. So as she didn't give us a solution and said she couldn't provide us the lens. O said then I would buy it online through the Bupa website again and she didn't mind losing the customer. So I leave my review so that the administrators and the public are aware and can do the same if you have this problem.

Helpful staff with a good energy, they weren't overbearing but also were there to answer every and all of my questions. With the 2 for $199 deal they have atm for sunnies, I couldn't say no. The quality of the glasses are also top notch.

Not satisfied with glasses, had them for 3 weeks and the glass fell out of the rims. I took glasses back for repair and was informed by customer service person, he couldn't fix them. I asked could I have a different frame because that frame was not securing the glass from falling out at any time. Customer service person informed me, I would have to pay for another frame. That is not acceptable, they sell these glasses for reading that are not made properly. That is a health and safety issue regarding eyes and an I could have had an accident with the glass being so loose near my eye. Watch they don't fob you off, like they did to me. Janette Conwell

The optometrist and store assistants were wonderful! I was on holidays and somehow scratched my eye. No other place would see me even though I was in pain. Bailey Nelson fit me in right away and I was able to enjoy at least some of my holiday between Christmas and New Years. Highly recommend! Such good service and compassion!!

Came here for more than 5 times, normally the staffs are nice, but my recent visit experience was so bad. The optometrist was so rude, the way she spoke was so mean and act like she knows everything. I didn't expect you to greet me or smile at me, but at least be a little professional. There are more professional optometrist around Collins Street if you want to see one in the Melbourne CBD, and they are bulk billed.

I went into Bailey & Nelson Melbourne Central to have my new glasses (purchased from another branch) adjusted to fit my face better. The fit is now so much better. Thank you for your time, fantastic attentiveness and friendly customer service.
