In my opinion best authentic proper Japanese sushi and dishes. Sushi is made right on the spot in front of you and the ingredients are always the freshest. For $3plus it's worth it as the rice is full is of flavour. Vinger not too overwhelming all flavours are on point

Best Japanese takeaway in Melbourne. Run by a lovely Japanese family. Highly recommended. Always fresh and yummy but limited menu due to small shop size. Great food and popular, give them a try.

Highly recommend this small Japanese takeaway restaurant. The owner is Japanese that says a lot about authenticity and quality. Sashimi is fresh, and they make the sushi roll on the spot so the seaweed was fresh too, not soggy at all! I’ll be back and can’t wait to try out other items on the menu!

The food is authentic Japanese cuisine as the chef is Japanese. Although it is a limited menu, what he makes is really good. I love the chicken and vegetable curries and sushi. I've taken friends and they are always pleasantly surprised. The staff aren't very friendly and I think the owner is over the restaurant thing after many years, but still very worth going! Limited hours open so check first.

Good sushi and donburi rice dishes. Enjoyed the food. It's a small place targeted more at takeaway crowds although they have limited seating. It does not have air conditioning for the eating area so it can be hot in summer. Better for take away ordering or cooler weather. :-)

Great food. Had some sushi rolls. Little bit more expensive but they are larger and more filling. Salmon was quite fresh. Never had the beef before but great place to try it with an extra sauce

Very tasty and super generous serve size for nigiri, which is freshly made while you wait. Served with actual Japanese soy sauce too.

They only serve sushi (no other menu items) and it was a bit of a wait when I was there on Tuesday at lunch time, but boy was it worth it! Super fresh, and super delicious. If you ask they'll put the sushi in a paper bag, so you can avoid any plastic waste.

One of the best local sushi places in the area! My colleagues and I have "sushi fridays" and order here every week. Their fish is very fresh, and the ratios in their hand rolls and beautiful. This place is so popular, there is always a huge line up to grab lunch!

Hands down the best sushi in Melbourne. I travel from the inner city to come here and rate the quality and craftsmanship of the sushi above much pricier restaurants (like kisume). Midori’s is a family business ran by a husband and wife who are experts at what they do (as evidenced by Midori’s popularity). It’s incredible that they’ve been able to maintain the standard of service and sushi over the years. A must try for any discerning sushi fan.
