Hillside Animal Sanctuary Office

Tourist attraction Animal shelter Animal rescue service

👍👍 Lovely little animal sanctuary and dog rescue, incredibly friendly staff too. We've been volunteering to walk dogs there as we're too busy to own a dog, despite loving them! But walking them helps the staff out, is great fun for us and gives the dogs some much needed exercise People often mention animals, staff, animal, friendly,

Went here today as it was one of their open days. Really enjoyed it. Great to see so many animals safe and being looked after. Everywhere was clean, staff really helpful and friendly. Animals that initially weren't very lucky, certainly are now. Very impressed, what a great job and a great place?

This place is amazing. It states shire horse sanctuary but it has a bit of everything. So many animals who are clearly very well looked after. Free entry, but we chose to adopt an animal as our donation, buy some things in the shop and then have a drink and a cake. We wouldn't have done that had we had to pay to get in. Wonderful place and it made our day visiting. The staff are very friendly and clearly care about the animals. We were here at least 3 hours.

We had an amazimg day at the open day on 18th August. The guys here do such a fabulous job, the animals were all happy. Living life as animals the way they should be. We had cake and tea at the cafe whilst we were there, all vegan which was highly surprising, as the salted caramel cake was to die for and it just goes to show you that you don't need animal produce for a great tasting cake. Carry on doing what you are doing. We will definitely be back for another open day in the future!!!

We have supported this charity for many years. They give the distinct impression that they really care for the animals they look after. We will be leaving them a sum of money in our wills to help them continue their good work. Thankyou!

Opening times were shown as opened all days of the week but when I went there on a Saturday afternoon, it was closed. Then I met a lady on-site who told me that the place was closed for public since Covid and suggested me to go to another animal sanctuary. It was a wasted journey.

Just had a wonderful afternoon at the site in West Runton. I took my ten year old who is into animal welfare. In my opinion they've got just the right balance between welfare education and being family-friendly. It's so heart-warming to hear about all the animals that have been rescued and are being cared for (and obviously loved) by the staff and volunteers there. Hopefully they raise some money too, as it's free to get in.

Superb rescue centre for all types of animals. Visit them on their open day or donate to a very worthy cause.

Such a lovely place to visit, especially with young children. Horse, donkeys, cows and very, very friendly staff. One staff member Christan was very friendly to my 5 year old son. He made us all feel very welcome.

Fantastic service, I work in a hotel and a little muntjac was hit by a car and ran into our carpark, we called around RSPCA and many other places nearby but they either wouldn't answer the phone or told us "nothing we can do about that" Called hillside and spoke to a lovely woman called hannah who couldn't have been more helpful. Half an hour after calling someone came to collect the little fella. Will definitely be calling Hillside first in the future should I ever need to. Very well done 100/100 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A superb caring sanctuary for all animals who need love. Dedicated people run this place, dedicated to the complete care of all who live there. Totally reliant on help from the public.

Having been a supporter of Hillside for many years finally made a visit. Was really impressed with the welfare of all the animals at the sanctuary. Run as a non profit charity the centre had a good family atmosphere and emphasised animal wellbeing.

We had such a lovely time here. Free entry though we highly recommend visiting the gift shop. We bought some donations for the animals too - Oyster shell for the chickens etc All enclosures are immaculate and all animals seem happy and well cared for. The staff were super friendly. Great atmosphere. We've donated to Hillside for many years now so it's nice to confirm with our own eyes that our donations are going to a good cause :)
