The restaurant is located on the upper dining level of the Shoreditch Boxpark. It operates on an order and buzzer collect self service. The food is freshly cooked and can take a bit of time before it is ready for collection. Nevertheless I had a tasty brisket burger which was flavoursome and juicy. You have the option of choosing how thoroughly cooked or not the patty you want. Fries are great and so was the nuggets and they are accompanied with their own dipping sauce. Dining on site is at the communal benches and tables or have it to go.

CHIP SOUP I had the classic BB Burger & fries lunch meal deal. Disappointed no Brisket that day, a 1/3 of the menu gone. The patty (crunchy edge, smoky, medium, great beefy flavour) and bun (heavy on sesame, perfectly toasted, held its form) were excellent. The bacon/cheese were unevenly distributed. The garlic in the "garlic mayo" was almost indetectable, perhaps a defensive response to feedback from Boxpark's corporate customer base. The overall burger was too sweet for a UK palate, with demi-brioche + onion jam + mayo. Needs a pickle to balance, unless your tastebuds are dialled up to Creme Egg level. The chips were fresh but wet, a soggy, oily mess. At what low temperature do BBB keep their fryer? And who picked the expensive looking bags in which they just sit and steam? A one off? Check out the reviews - this is a consistent complaint @ BBB Boxpark. They were also underseasoned (what are the dark bits? and please give me a sachet of salt, rather than mayo and ketchup, which were abundantly handed out by chef but would have turned my chips into a soup) With such a great burger choice in London, it's an insult to see chips like this. Had luggage so couldn't easily raise at the time with the BBB team on site, but short of a refund it's not clear how they could have helped. Recommendation: Try the classic BBB if you like sweet things; don't be tempted by a meal deal; BYO vastly superior fries from Patty & Bun / Five Guys nearby. They'll still be crunchy by the time you're sitting to eat your Black Bear Burger.

This burger goes straight to my top 3 London burgers! Delicious, tender, full of flavour and so easy to eat you could have it every day! We tried the miso burger and was great, will try the classic one next time!

BRISKET BURGER @black_bear_burger @boxpark Shoreditch, London 🇬🇧 Thoughts 💭 Words can’t describe how delicious this burger is. The bun held together perfectly. The meat had that slight crisp exterior and medium rare in the middle. Then the sauce… oh my the sauce 😍 totally understand why everyone says this is the best burger in London! 🍔 WHATS IN IT 🍔 DRY AGED BEEF, CHEESE, 12hr BEER BRAISED BRISKET, PINK PICKLED ONIONS, GARLIC MAYO

The Burgers were outstanding; the flavour of it just bursts in your mouth. Both chicken and The original black bear burgers were delicious and so were the fries. The food here did not disappoint one bit. The Restaurant itself is a little small but has got outdoor seating area. Friendly staff 👍🏼👌🏼

Great burgers! We had the Black Bear and the Black & Blue and the Black Bear was definitely the winner. Super solid, simple but very well executed burger. Next time I’ll go double as the bread was definitely firm enough to hold a double (whereas for other burgers it would get soggy very quickly). The Black & Blue was very good but it could have used a bit more blue cheese flavour in the sauce.

Wow! This is Londons best burger! Each burger was packed with flavour and sandwiched in the softest and fluffiest bun. The Bluey burger was my personal favourite, rich and delicious. The double chicken burger was massive and full of lots of different flavours, it also had a subtle spice kick to it! Finally the chicken wings were good. Very saucy and the blue cheese was especially strong on this dish! Overall the burgers are amazing, lots more burger choice on their menu than what you see online. The price is so reasonable! My total was about £30 and I was very impressed!

Some of the best burgers that I have had were at Black Bear. This was my first time returning as a vegan, and I was still not disappointed. The burger was amazing, good waiting times and decently priced. I doubt that anyone could tell the difference between the vegan and non vegan burgers in the pic, had it not been for vegan cheeses not having the ability to melt.

Black Burger makes one of the best, if not, the best burger in London. It's meaty, it's juicy, cooked exactly how I like it and loaded with bacon, American cheese, sweet onion jam and more, all sandwiched between two pillowy soft brioche seeded buns. I know my description doesn't make it sound any different from the other burgers in London, but you must try it to know it. I don't know the secret as to how they do it so unbelievably well! You can even go big and get a double patty. It's not a restaurant, more like a food stall that just happens to be housed within a shipping container. But that doesn't matter. Plonk yourself one of the long wooden communal benches in Boxpark Shoreditch and devour this incredible burger.

Best burger in London! I dont eat Meat often but when I do I mostly eat BlackBear. I tried all 3 burgers. i highly recommend Brisket Burger standard cooking and Nuggets with the Blue cheese to dip both on the nuggets and the burger. Never had a bad burger from them.

Is the Black Bear burger the best in London? Well tucked into Box Park in Shoreditch, there's a little Black Bear. Amazing music and vibe going on which is a great experiance. Food took 15 minutes to be ready notified by a buzzer on the table We had chips, wings, Miso Burger and a classic. Fries were a good portion for three of us, dont order one each. The wings were very nice, crispy and tasty with a little bit of spice. The miso burger was a bit too salty for my liking and over powered the otherwise great flavour. The classic was the sweet spot which was delicious. Juicy, good bun and with a smoky flavour. Is Black Bear the best burger in London! It's close....

This burger was delicious! I got the Black Bear Burger with fries and a soft drink (part of a £14.50 meal deal). It was one of the best tasting burgers I've had in London. The garlic mayo and onion jam added so much flavour - it was so, SO GOOD! The patty was juicy and cooked perfectly, great quality ingredients too. The chips were crispy and a good size portion. My only one criticism would be the burger itself is quite small, but a worthy sacrifice for the fantastic flavours. I will definitely be returning and would 100% recommend!

This is probably one of the best burger resturants in London. The Patty's are delicious as they have a strong sear on the outside. Its juicy and flavourful. The sauces are quite tricky cuz they always makes things tasty but try Bear black burger or classic burger without mayo, it will still be great

I chewed the stake 100 times and it won’t break, it’s so tough that I ended up throwing the whole meal away. Such a waste. If you are going to use tough stake then at least cut it in thinner slices in the right direction to avoid choking, thanks.

3rd best burger I've had, It is very good but its too small especially considering you pay 12 - 13 pounds for the burger and chips. The chips are very good, some of the best I have eaten, I enjoy a lot of salt and the steak rub chips hit the spot.

Oh my days, what a burger! I had the double black bear and it was so good. no pictures as it was so good i ate it far to quickly, the Tata Tots and the chips were also great. The classic burger was also fantastic. Its box park so i can't really give the service 5 stars as you order it yourself and collect it yourself, but its a cool atmosphere and it was quick and the £12 was definitely worth every penny . I wouldn't order a double and a side unless your really hungry. i did and it was too much. highly recommend though. It's a damn good burger and its up there in top 5 Burgers of London. Its probably currently number 1 but there are a fair few more burger places to visit.

my family and I were very sad that you didn’t get the investment, we watched it on Netflix, you were the best hamburger I’ve ever seen so far, I can’t wait to go to London

If you are a vegan/vegetarian please stay away. The only option was the vegan burger. And it was the worst vegan burger I had in my life. I have been veggie for years and tried different vegan/veggie burgers around London and this was just rock-bottom. I don’t normally leave reviews here but just wanted to warn people. Mayo was all over the burger, the vegan cheese was really bad, didn’t melt and was really salty. Vegan patty was super salty even though it was the only thing close to decent. My partner ate the brisket one and it was OK.

Excellent burger , lovely cut of meat in a tasty bun, the venue operates a self service through a screen which is not to everyone’s taste but the food more than made up for it I personally went for the black bear burger and wasn’t left disappointed , the burger is a fair price not been the cheapest but the price is on point for the quality you are getting , defiantly worth checking out !

This review is only based on the experience with the food. We have ordered food from Black Bear Burger quiet a few times and me and my boyfriend are loving it. The delivery takes around 20-30 mins and food always arrives hot and yummy. Next time we are planning to actually go there and have some nice time with tasty food😁.

Amazing burgers. Really really good. Juicy and delicious. Burger comes around ~12£ and every single pound is worth it. I ordered two because the first one was so good!!! No picture of the burger as it was gone so fast. Also try the steak fries. They are finger-licking good. Probably the best I ever ate. Highly recommend the place ❤️

This one goes straight to my top 3 burger places in London. The Miso Mayo Burger is a MUST. Just delicious and with that nice sauce that makes it stand out from the typical burger. Meat is tasty and tender and the bun is great. Will definitely comeback

The patty was delicious, complemented by a decent burger sauce. The fries were fresh, perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper. However, the only disappointment was the sesame-seeded bun, which was a bit dry and cold, not quite matching the patty's quality.

Nice buzz. Went with family and kids. More effort should be made to make the box park more family/kid friendly Eat at Salt Shed. It's definitely called salt shed for a reason.

What an amazing experience. I had a lot of burgers in my life but these ones were really great, Flavors were remarkable, maybe a bit disappointed by the fries which were maybe not enough fried. Definitely a place to go if you are looking for amazing burgers

I think “best burger I had in London” pretty much sums it up. The black bear burger is perfect (tbh the only one I tried, didn’t need to look for anything else): the size, juicy, tasty, perfect bun, perfect bacon (not overcooked which is something that usually happens at places). I don’t know if the picture is the best you could take from a burger, I took it quickly to send it to a friend because I could go there after several months in lockdown (I never take pictures from my food actually). Took my girlfriend for the first time yesterday (after months of me saying how good that burger was) and she couldn’t agree more, contrary to the high expectations disappointment you could expect. If you go weekdays during lunchtime you get the lunch menu for £10.50 which seems reasonably priced for the area (burger + chips). Also the chips size is really good (maybe even too much). I cannot talk objectively about this place because I’m a huge fan.

It is actually the truth when they tell you these guys make burgers that melt in your mouth. You also need to admire the burger before you eat because of how good it looks (if you can even resist!). Great staff too!

We chose their original burger. Very tasty and juicy. Their chips are also yummy! It is very interesting to eat at ParkBox where you can choose different types of food and enjoy at the same place. Nice and cosy area and very close to Shoreditch Station. I

Incredibly juicy patty. Blue cheese was strong and tasty. Meat cooked to perfection. Aesthetically it looks like everything a burger should be. Perfectly round and shiny bun, with a messy patty sticking out the side, complete with oozing cheese. Service excellent. The only let down: The bun. Mine wasn’t really toasted if at all? This isn’t a big deal if that’s the style of burger. But this bun is so dry and not soft in the middle. Nothing terrible but it was just kind of firm inside, feels cheap I dunno. It’s bizzare because all the other ingredients are such high quality. Looks so appealing from the outside which is perhaps why it hasn’t been changed. Sidenote: I’ve seen a lighter bun and a darker one in pictures. I’m talking about the darker one, perhaps you interchange?

Easily top 5 burger in London. If you go you MUST go for the black bear burger double patty 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Also very generous portion of fries which is a plus. Just a world class burger. My first trip to black bear burger I had the chicken nuggets and that was amazing, but I vowed if I go back again I will get the burger and I’m glad I did as it did not disappoint.

Great burger place, burgers are not complicated and taste great. Great prices at around 8 quid a burger in Shoreditch. Well worth the visit I'll be going again

Nice burger 🍔 Experience let down by pushy security, for some reason, insisting that an app is downloaded for the whole Box Park before entry was allowed? Other than this, nice venue who are handling Covid-19 safeguards well.

Can. Not. Speak highly enough about Black Bear burger. My partner and I first discovered them a couple of years ago on a date night at box park. We'd had a couple of beers and fancied a burger that tasted half as good as the aroma coming from black bear smelled. We met Stew and Katie who were so lovely and spent a good 10 minutes having a natter while we did a couple of ski shots... may have been Canadian club with maple syrup? Absolutely delicious. Well, we thought it might have been the booze that made it so so tasty but how wrong we were.. we've Been back 4 or 5 times and been served by other staff members and every time we've enjoyed that same consistent burger, as high quality as the last. We always mix it up a bit, a brisket burger or the beef shim nuggets (to die for) but you cannot beat the classic so when lockdown came around and we had to take our date night's at home, I was delighted to see BBB were offering DIY kits and they didn't disappoint. I can guarantee you will not find a better burger in London. Bleecker is a close second but why settle for second? Love love loved it, see you next time when we hope to visit the Brixton restaurant x

Would avoid seats at the entrance as there's a unpleasant smell coming from the toilets below. Food wasn't entirely great and the surrounding/background was extremely noisy.

  • 4/5 Los Z. 3 years ago on Google
Great burgers, one of the best I've had, 5 stars. For the size of the burger (even the double) and a tiny milkshake that you get (which is nothing special), and as a takeaway, even for where it is... £15.50 is excessive. It's definitely though worth a try.

Perfect Eat Out fare. Was it definitely ten quid worth of burger? Maybe not, but what was there, if paying ten quid for a burger is already your jam, was delicious. The chip portions are excellent though. Definitely enough to share.

I really can't fault this place: delicious burgers, great service, choices are good and they're flexible enough to customise your order if you'd prefer it. Limitations are that they only take card payments and there's no guarantee of a seat as you're sharing with all the other BoxPark customers.
