This is a decent hotel, however it is not of 5-star hotel quality. Pros: - The location is good for most things you would want to see in Mexico City. - The concierge was very helpful and knowledgeable. Cons: - They charged us $160 fee for early check-in but gave us a room with a broken A/C. It took them three tries and a whole day to finally fix the air conditioning but they did not give us a refund on the early check-in. Given this, the room was too hot to sleep. - The restaurant in the hotel where they serve breakfast (A la Parilla) is not very good. The breakfast is so-so and at dinner, they served us a tart with balsamic vinegar that had gone bad. I wouldn't stay at this hotel for a return trip to Mexico City and would probably stay in a different hotel in the area.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel was very beautiful and clean. We enjoyed the morning breakfast which was really good. This hotel is a perfect location in Reforma. If you are looking to take the TouriBus one of the stops is right across the street. And it is really close to the Angel of Independence! We didn't get to stay at the hotel much as we were out all day exploring the city but the cleaning staff even folded our clothes!!! WOW! So kind of them! And the front desk staff was so helpful and kind hearted as well! The neighborhood was safe too. I really loved Mexico City and miss it already! I hope to visit again someday!

This hotel really is the bar for 5 stars. It had great and attentive service that was also quick. The rooms were spacious for a cheap price. They included everything you needed, including robes, shoehorn and high quality cosmetic products. The design was also really high end. Especially in the granite bathrooms. I would recommend that anyone stay here.

We stayed at the Marquis Los Cabos and loved it, so when we were looking for a hotel in Mexico City, the Marquis Reforma seemed like a good bet. Let me just say that this is NOT a 5 star hotel. Yes, it’s in a great location but the rooms are small & outdated and they don’t even provide coffee with their coffee maker (you have to pay $2 per coffee pod). In fact, all the other amenities were also an extra cost (pool, spa, etc). The staff was always very pleasant and helpful, so if they invested in upgrading a few things, this hotel could be worth it but with so many hotels in this area and depending on your price point, maybe this isn’t the place for you.

I have just checked into the hotel. First time in my life I have seen a 5-star hotel that does not give complementary coffee/tea maker and charges for it. Not worth the price at all. Even a 50us$ hotel would offer so. Room and bathroom aren’t great too.

I’d really love to give 5 stars BUT they have problem with their room keys (all of them), I stayed for 2 times and the room card wasn’t functioning properly, we stuck in the lift and had to wait for renewal all the time, freezing and annoyed. Fernando was super helpful and gave us extra room keys for that reason, but then all the other staff didn’t even propose to help. And I did truly not appreciate that. But other than that, I enjoyed the pool a lot. And the Sunday brunch at the hotel’s restaurant, it’s extra 800 MXN but absolutely worthy, their chef and service were marvelous, I will definitely visit again.

Loved my stay in Mexico City. We chose Hotel Marquis because of its location. It didn't disappoint. Hotel was very central and the areas were very safe. Chapultepec Park and the angel of independence were very close. We were able to walk to many areas and for those we couldn't, Ubers were always close. Hotel was very nice and clean. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. I'd definitely consider the hotel in my next visit. Thank you for everything.

One star because the elevator fell down one floor while I was in it together with my partner. It stopped and we pressed the alarm button. After some time it started moving again and we could get out. We were both very scared by this. We told the staff but they didn’t do anything, not even closed the elevator. Besides this there were many more things wrong with the service at this hotel, but where overshadowed by this. I will update my post later with more details about the service.

Perfect location, quiet but central. Beautifully designed. Courteous same time helpful staff. Spacious, clean rooms. Beautifully decorated. Highly recommend to include breakfast. Fernando went off his way to meet or needs.

We decided to stay here to try another hotel in the neighborhood and also because of the location and after reading all the good reviews. Self proclaimed 5-star hotel charges for in-room coffee (2.5 USD per nespresso capsule). Please Manager don't reply by saying that it is "gourmet coffee" and that is the reason for the additional cost. The answer is utterly ridiculous. Everyone knows the value of a Nespresso capsule (0.5 USD for "gourmet" coffee) or do you get special Kopi Luwak coffee from Indonesia? Then I would understand. It is misleading promoting the room as having a Nespresso machine but not mentioning the premium cost. I have stayed at more than 500 hotels all around the world from all range and even 1-star hotels usually provide free coffee. All 4 and 5-star hotels so far which had a Nespresso machine provided a few capsules per day as a courtesy. Also, first time ever that guests have to pay to use the swimming pool (25 USD)! I have never seen that. Sauna / steam bath is included, yes like usually in all 5-star hotels, so the additional fee is still not at all justified. This is not a 5-star hotel (cannot abe compared at all to the Four Seasons for example). More like a strong 4-star / 4.5-star with additional costs not included in the room rates. Better stay at the Sheraton or St Regis, both nearby and in the same price category. Staff very friendly. Rooms very clean and comfortable, but a little bit dull. Gym well equipped (I did use the gym, and it was actually free! Or was I supposed to pay for its use? 🤔). If you are just quickly transiting, this hotel could be a very good choice. For a longer stay I would stay elsewhere.

What a beautiful Hotel! Upon arrival the staff give you a 5 star treatment and make you feel you are the most important guest at the hotel. I got upgraded to a bigger room with a beautiful view of the city and my room was beautiful! It’s a georgeous hotel located 2 blocks from Castillo de Chapultepec and a block away from la Diana Cazadora. The restaurants are top notch as well as the piano bar and the service is great! I cannot wait to go back and stay in this hotel again.

The greatest experience I have encountered in a hotel while traveling! I usually stay at 4 star hotel when traveling with my family. I will say this felt more like a 5 star hotel! The service was amazing and prompt! I would call for any issue or question and I would have someone at the door almost immediately. We had a mix up in the number of beds in both of our rooms and they handled it and gave us the appropriate rooms right away. We ended up asking for an upgrade to the Junior suite and I will stay in the Jr's from now on!! The view was incredible and they bring out a whole mattress and bedding for the pull out couch. I want to take a trip just to stay in this hotel again!!!

Didn't check in, just went for a two day meeting, so I cannot rate the rooms. But, everything else is so "luxury", the restrooms are impecable, the service and attention of the "butlers" were efficient and kind. The concierge service is so helpful and really amicable. Eat in the hotel restaurant at "Los Canarios", the food was good, kind of expensive but you expect that because of the hotel level, in general the service was good but just one waiter wasn't nice and acted not very respectfully because he got mad at some of our friends and let us alone without any service saying "they are in my way, I cannot stand it". We comment that and other waiter heard it and immediately attended our table in a very nice way. But I have to say the service in general is very, very good.

I am 67 yr retired Japanese man, but I stayed this splendid hotel in 1979 as a invitation tour member of Mexico Tourism Board. That was only 20 Japanese limited through application described at a famous news paper. This is my first trip abroad and learning espanol from Narita. At that time, the top floor was Disco and many young people enjoyed dance and singing. I memorized the lyrics, Herida espanola, strongly. Next day, at the neighbor record shop, I said I want the herida espanola seriously. The the shop member who run out onto the road. And he said there is no herida espanol.

My experience here was good for the most part, same with the service. The hotel is kind of old and in need of some remodeling. Fernando was amazing upon my arrival. So why the two stars? Coming back from a late night there was an employee who was trying to tell me that my friend could not enter the hotel. I had registered her as a guest with me upon my arrival but he did not have her in his notes. I have NEVER been to a hotel that has told me I cannot have a friend stay the night (so long as we are quiet and respectful). After paying as much as I did for a Junior Suite, there is absolutely no reason why this hotel should ever tell me that I cannot have one person stay the night with me. Will not be staying here again.

We booked this hotel because we wanted to try a new area that wasn’t polanco and were pleasantly surprised by everything about the hotel. The reception area was nice and the staff unloaded our bags from the Uber. The rooms were large enough to fit all of our bags without us having to step over them to get to the beds. The hotel gym is one of the largest and nicest I’ve seen. The hotel is a little dated but it’s also a fraction of the price of the new 5 star hotels like ritz or 4 seasons so I’m glad I booked it. The location is also the most central location we’ve stayed at with easy access reforma 222, the park, condesa, and all of the restaurants in between. On Sunday when the road is closed you can step right outside the hotel to jog on the street. Overall wed definitely stay here again.

This used to be my favorite hotel in Mexico city. I've stayed here so many times over the years. The main reason i did was because of the gym and spa, which always had access with your room stay. However, now they charge 600 pesos just to go use the steam room. They charge for coffee in the room. Nickel and dime for everything now. This was my last stay here

First time in Mexico City and stayed at this hotel. It is very nice and the staff was so courteous! There are 2 restaurants in the hotel which were also pretty good. I can’t wait to come back and use the spa amenities!

Stayed Nov 30th to Dec 4th. Was greeted at arrival and was helped throughout check in and valet car parking (free for guests of the hotel). Our heating wasn't working and they immediately had a technician come fix it which is great. The pool and gym are also very good. The restaurant downstairs is also amazing, great food and service. No complaints.

We had a day trip to the spa and it was excellent. Salvador the host was so at tentative and couldn’t do enough for you making sure you had plenty of fresh warm towels, drinks and anything else that you needed. He went above and beyond to make you feel welcome and relaxed. I had the anti stress massage and it was so relaxing and the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were very clean as well as having the place to ourselves which is what we wanted. A perfect, peaceful and relaxing afternoon I highly recommend.

One of the best 5 star hotels we've ever been to. The services was amazing, the room was clean and spacious, and the employees were by far the warmest, most helpful people I've ever encountered. Many people feel Mexico is such an unsafe city, but I felt more comfortable there than any city in the US. Did I mention the spa and workout facility? Wow! One of the nicest I've seen in a while.

What a great hotel . Very very clean, welcoming staff. The mattress and the blanket is very comfy, see change my pillow to firm ones because I couldn’t sleep well on the soft ones. Very good room cleaning, actually they organised my makeup, earrings , piece by piece on a small towel. How nice

The place is located steps away from Bosque de Chapultepec, Angel de la Independencia, plenty of restaurants of all kinds of cousine on Reforma within blocks away , 24 hrs. room service restaurant, super clean, everybody makes you feel at home, upscale without the high price tag, the spa services with steam room, sauna, jaccussy and inside pool. The two restaurants located within the hotel will go out of their way to please you and more.....Celebrating 15 de Septiembre dia de la independencia de Mexico......Viva Mexico!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had the pleasure to experience Marquis. I strong believe this hotel deserves 5 star rating. The service was exceptional - every detail taken care of. The staff, one of the best I’ve experienced in hotels. The kindness, the appreciation of tips - not taken for granted. Sanitized , covid precautions taken seriously. Due to covid, gym is open but do need to make a reservations, but the pool is closed, for now. We did get to have lunch at one of the restaurants. While the steak was okay, the rest of my food was delicious, plus they use an expensive coffee machine, so please know the coffee will not be burnt. Will come back again ♥️

While my husband and I had a very brief one night here, the staff of the Hotel Marquis wildly exceeded our expectations. Jose went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and the rest of the staff was just as polite and willing to make our stay memorable. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean and the food is wonderful for when you want to eat in. What really puts this hotel above and beyond the others is how absolutely welcome you’ll feel from the incredible staff.

It was okay. The employees at the reception when we checked in could have been friendlier. Our room had maintenance issues. When asked for another room they tried to downgrade us to a smaller room. Ultimately it was acceptable but no where near “5 stars”

Very nice hotel in a good location, with extremely helpful and pleasant staff, definitely recommend. Modern, up to date, clean. Staff helped us book tours, show tickets, car service, covid testing very easily. Suites are very spacious. It is located in the center of all places: historical center, condesa, polanco, teotihucan, coyocan, bosque, so especially if on limited time this will be a good place to get to all quickly most within walking/biking distance, but minus 1 star because the pool was not open, there was no alternate and there was no outdoor seating anywhere to just lounge.

  • 3/5 Patrick S. 2 years ago on Google
The art-deco hotel is partly closed, only 1 restaurant open. Facilities like gym and pool are only on appointment and pool costs 25 dollar to use. Only top floor suites can use it for free. Junior suites dated. Well maintained but old furniture, couch is totally worn out. Mold in bathroom. Views through dirty windows on a construction site. Lots of street noise. Doorman is very attentive and doing a great job. Manager hotel as well.

This hotel is, in a word, delightful. The staff is phenomenal and very kind despite my limited Spanish. The concierge, Javier, graciously acquired tickets for me to Casa Azul and was also able to schedule a COVID test for my return flight home. The room service was terrific and very prompt. Breakfast at Los Canarios was delicious and a great value. This was my first visit to CDMX, and this hotel will be at the top of my list when I return.

Exceeded all expectations. Perfect location. Very nice room for the price we paid. All staff were super courteous and professional. The room was cleaned every night with detail. A lady at the front desk went out of her way to help me set up something special. And we got a late check out too. I’ll be staying here next time.

I wish I could give this hotel five stars – but at the end of the day, the wifi at this hotel simply did not function, and as a result, I cannot recommend this hotel to anybody until they fix this issue.

  • 2/5 Ken R. 1 year ago on Google
Great location. That's it. Rooms desperately need remodeling. Room service menu is a joke--first you have to *find* the menu which means waiting for the TV screen to refresh (once you've been given the secret channel to find the QR codes), then you have to take your photo before the screen changes . . . and then only one of the restaurants listed offers room service and its fare isn't worthy of a small-town motel. Dirty glasses left in the hallway for a full day. People at front desk were courteous but not helpful. Net-net the Barceló is better. And the Barceló is awful.

I’m floating on air after my incredible massage by Javier. He’s skilled, knowledgable, and gave me one of the best massages I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot). Definitely request him, as his he is able to do both a lot of pressure (which I requested) while also offering a light touch on the relaxing facial massage at the end. In addition, the spa was wonderful and completely made me a new person after a long week of work! Thanks so much Javier!

Nice location. Delicious food at the restaurant Very nice staff. We had a junior suite and was very surprised and pleased that when they made the sofa bed they added an extra layer of foam to make it comfortable. The hotel is a little dated. The bathrooms can use an upgrade and foam pillows were ehhh.
