It's an incredible experience! This Museum offers almost all FREE exhibits. (doesn't matter if you are a foreigner) Exhibits remain for 1 to 3 months. Some exhibits are also free guided, so ask in for a better experience. (but I recommend to give a Tip to guides [Most of them are students]). I dont know if they offer tour guidanses in different languages than Spanish, but you can ask. Tours here could last from 25 minutes up to 2 hours depending on the exhibit, some has few chambers open and others the whole Museum. Pls visit this places, you will learn more from our culture and traditions 🇲🇽.

One of those unexpected museums you end up enjoying. And it is free! I was walking around and decided to give it a try. The moment I went they had an exhibition focused on artesanal Mexican culture: sculptures, rags, dresses ... beautiful. The museum, architecturally talking, is fantastic as well. Did I mention it is free? GO! Pics taken with Pixel 4 XL

Beautiful art in a gorgeous historical building. It has a fascinating history - this building was previously called The Palace of Iturbide (1779 to 1785) and built as a replica of a royal palace in Palermo, Italy. Upon independence from Spain, the First Mexican Emperor was crowned here and took up residence. THEN for a couple of centuries it had a number of purposes, including housing the School of Mining (!). Now, the restored building houses a collection of art and has been renamed the Palacio de Cultura Banamex. It’s free entry and open for all of us to enjoy! How lovely.

Very interesting little history museum of the native indigenous people of Mexico and the European intermingling and their mestizo offspring.

I hyghly recommend going here. The entrance is free. Even on a Saturday it didn't feel crowded. Currently there is an exposition from Yvonne Domenge that is stunning. She used geometrical 3-dimensial shapes. The rest of the museum is beautiful as well. If you go upstairs the (I guess permanent) art tells you the history of Mexican independence. It's nice if you understand a bit of Spanish to be able to follow the explanation (or use another tool).

Great museum housing rotating exhibits. Wasn't as fond of the exhibits this time around (not my style) versus the last but nonetheless this is an awesome building so it still deserves 5 stars. Plus no cost to enter.

Highly suggest checking it out. It was worth seeing the exhibit on how Mexico has evolved with its architecture

We found this place by accident and recognised the sculpture inside from London, the staff were very polite and all too happy to let us come in and have a look for free, Av. Francisco I. Madero is a great shopping street and full of life but it's nice to have an escape from retail therapy and see something that doesn't require a purchase. There is a similar bank owned exhibit three blocks west of Liverpool (Palace of the counts if San Mateo de Valparaíso) that is also free to enter.

I had quite mixed feelings about this "culture palace." When I visited, there was a rather small show about architecture on the ground floor, and another small show of Mexican drawing, painting and pottery upstairs. In other words, it's a very large building with very little art inside. Then there was the atmosphere. Although I understand that the security situation in Mexico is not great, I've never seen so many guards watching visitors' every move with such intensity. You'd think the place was packed with DaVincis and Vermeers being viewed by crowds of drunken, skateboard-toting teenagers. It is free to pop in and have a look, and the building itself is attractive. But as a cultural institution this place leaves something to be desired, in my opinion.

I really wanted to get inside and see this beautiful place but I kept missing the time. What an impressive building in a beautiful area ❤️⭐️❤️

The Palacio de Iturbide in and of itself is a work of art. The current exhibit (Sept 2022) is Spanish colonial art and its definitely something I vibe with. Regardless of the exhibit, this palace is worth the visit for its architecture.

Amazing collection! Beautiful building. Keep your hands in your pockets. Don't make any sudden movements. They have tons of security following you around. They get very nervous. Otherwise a wonderful museum. Free too.

Looks great from the photos but the last day of the exhibition was 1st May 2022 - look at their website. I was unable to get a clear indication when the Palacio will reopen from the guard at the door.

The Palace of Iturbide is a palatial residence and a free museum. Here you can wander galleries and enjoy rotating exhibits of artwork. The museum features many exhibits by Mexican City artists. It's a great place to visit in Mexico!

If you're in the Centro Histórico area (specifically, Madero Avenue) this is a great space to wander around for a bit. I was lucky enough to catch a guided tour of the current exhibition, and it was all around a great way to spend half an hour away from the noise and movement.

The palace itself is worth 1,000 stars. The curation of the art exposed is impeccable, so it doesn't matter what expo is on, I can bet it's worth your time. The only sad part is the service in general. All the workers I interacted with except one were rude and not friendly at all. If you can, don't try to talk to anyone and your visit will be more enjoyable.

Loved the space and the show was impressive and relative to instrumental artist contributing to Mexican art legacy. Great find.

A hidden gem - just the right size and location for a pleasant stopover when visiting el Centro. Constantly updated exhibitions by diverse national artists. Great for locals and tourists alike.

Probably, my favorite place in all Mexico City. The building itself is a big treasure. In addition you will always find modern expositions. A first floor is a must with artisan expositions.

They currently have a religious exhibition with wonderful pieces. Although it's on the small side you can help but admire the abundance of colors.
