First time visitor and man was I pleasantly surprised! Working in West Tampa I left a little later than usual, which meant I-4 was a mess! So I was searching for a place to kill some time and discovered Pop a Beer. I always say "I'd rather sit at a bar🍻 than to sit in traffic 🚙🚦🛑." They had a nice selection of beer/liquor as well as a fairly priced happy hour! Reading the reviews I was mostly definitely getting a burger however it just so happens that on Wednesdays they have a special for 70¢ wings 🍗! figured I could handle at least 5 wings and burger so I went for it. YALL let me tell you those wings were superb! Naked, deep fried until crispy, but not dry🔑, coated in your favorite sauce(s), and served with celery and your choice of bleu cheese or ranch. I did a mix of hot and lemon pepper which the kitchen executed perfectly so much so that I ended up ordering 5 more to go, they were that good! I'm a self proclaimed burger connoisseur🍔💁🏾‍♂️, enjoying them in various places across the US and I can honestly say the burger at Pop a Beer is one of the best I've ever had and easily earns a spot in my top 5. I ended up doing the 1/2 lb Bear Burger and it simply checked all the boxes that you look for in a quality burger. It was Fresh, Juicy, flawlessly cooked to Medium as I requested, fresh toppings, well seasoned, and sitting ever so nicely on what appeared to be brioche bun. The overall quality and value you get for the price you pay here is hard to find elsewhere. Service was stellar! The bartender that day was Gio who was an affable and engaging host to all who were present. It's readily apparent that the owners have fostered a community and relationships within the bar itself. I mean after all isn't that what it's all about? Read on the website that the establishment is veteran owned. I'm thankful for their service to our country 🇺🇲 and doubly thankful for their continued service to the surrounding community 🙏🏾. I can't wait to come back again!

Small but mighty bar and grill. If you aren’t looking for it you’ll miss it. Staff was friendly and the place looked very clean. We had an ice cold Stella on tap and a burger as good as any I’ve had. The burger sauce is delicious. The wife tried their wings and onion rings. They have karaoke, pool, and they seem to take their foosball serious:). We were happy with our visit.

I’ve driven by this place several times and finally stopped in for dinner. The atmosphere is really laid back and welcoming and the service was excellent! The bar tender was really friendly and the owner came over to say hi and was really friendly as well. The food was great! The burger was one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time! It was fresh and cooked perfectly. We got onion rings and cheese curds and all of it was delicious. The outside looks like a dive bar, but don’t judge a book by its cover! There’s great food and good people and I 100% recommend stopping for a bite to eat and a cold drink!

This bar & grill had a friendly atmosphere and clean restrooms. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating. Thd food was delicious. I would definitely return and try other items on menu.

Heard they had a good burger so we stopped in. Not sure how we haven't tried this place before but glad we did. Burger was fantastic. Gio and Kate were great bartenders. Prices were excellent and place is clean. This is a nice little gem and we look forward to bringing our friends.

Fun bar with excellent food. Would highly recommend! And their logo is a bear kicked back in a hammock with a palm tree for a nose. What more do you want?

This place has an amazing vibe and great food. The staff treats you like family, and you always leave with a smile and a full stomach. This is my go-to spot for wings. It's definitely the best around. The owners are amazing as well and do a fantastic job in making sure your time with them is amazing.

Everything was excellent. We had almost everything on the menu from the juicy chicken wings tossed in honey bbq,lemon pepper and the bourbon sauce. Our favorite sauce was the citrus chipotle, the cheese fries were so good and the cheese was real which was a plus. I also had the chocolate cake for dessert which was very moist.

I really love this place. I never understood why people have their "regular bars" but now I've officially found mine! Atmosphere, food and service are top notch. I've never waited too long for service and have never had food or a drink from their menu that I disliked. The owners Kate and Larry are wonderful as are their staff. They really know what they're doing. Special shout out to my boy Gio. He's a great manager and bartender and a wonderful person. ❤️ Love this place and recommend them to everyone in Tampa.

We stopped in the other afternoon. Service was great!!! Food was very good!!! Hard to believe you can have a great pizza for only $5.00!!! Beer was cold and the price is right. Very nice staff and patrons!!! I’ll be back!!!

5 stars for EVERYTHING! Love the bartenders.. Kate, Gio, Grace!! The food is amazing and they run the best weekly specials. This has become our neighborhood bar because the atmosphere is so welcoming and the people are friendly unlike other places in the community.

We have been avoiding this place but it turned out to be better than what we expected. We went on a Monday night and got pizza with our drinks. Our bartender Grace was wonderful. We played pool and had a great time. Looking forward to our next visit!

Very clean restrooms are very clean very good service and delicious food very good. My friends Jennifer and Henry First Anniversary and party with Friends and Family. And we all had a wonderful and Marvelous time.

Stumbled across this little gem accidentally but...wow! This is as real, as homemade, and as delicious as it gets. The food was definitely made with love, we tried their pulled pork, wings and strawberry shortcake (yum) and everything was raising our bars. On top of that Gio was our bartender and he took such good care of us, really personable and professional! We felt like we were VIP guests with Good but he was treating everyone like that, which is amazing. Highly recommended!

I have went into here back in the summer wanted to post a review before now, but anyway, food is fantastic. Very clean very friendly. Everyone is so welcome to you. If you have not been to this establishment you’ve got to go and check it out. The thing I was impressed is the ladies room is super clean and Kate, super friendly I apologize I do not remember the gentleman’s name that bartend during a day but Gracie super friendly and Larry is super friendly. If you have not been here before please go, you will not be disappointed.

Nice little hole-in-the-wall place. Stopped by for a poker run stop. Was not there long enough to experience all there was to take in.

As you walk through the door you’re greeted like family. It’s my first time here so it was amazing to feel that from the front door. Gio was the man in the kitchen we where indecisive on what we wanted to try, he gave us awesome recommendations and even went above and beyond by making us a custom sauce for our wings ! But the star of the show has to be Grace ! She was so polite and funny . Very impressionable and our glasses were always full. Overall great service amazing feel and atmosphere. I’ll be coming here every time i stop in Tampa. Oh and try the Gator bites 🐊 they are to die for !!!!

I've driven by this place for 5 years and have always wondered how it was / what it looked like on the inside. Today my girlfriend and I decided to try it out! She was delighted to see a bunch of lions fans and that some tables were decorated for the game. The place was packed! They offered about 5-6 beers on tap and a full liquor bar as well as bottled beers and seltzers. We got the Sunday special for $30, which included a pitcher a beer (domestic), wings, and a pizza with 2 toppings. There was a little confusion with our order, but everything came out hot and fresh even with the packed house. The bar and restaurant were clean and well maintained. As an added bonus they gave out jello shots when the bucs and lions scored. I was surprised by what a great experience we had. We will definitely be coming back in the future during the week to try some of the other specials! Thanks for a great Sunday!

You have to stop in. The food and service is amazing. Ask for Gio he’s nothing less than amazing. Honestly, the atmosphere is great, you won’t regret it!!

Great wings but the service at the bar, was AMAZING. The bartender, Summer, was so attentive and friendly. Shared lots of laughs and was on top of refilling my drinks before they even got to the bottom. I’ve never had a bartender be as “on top of it” anywhere before. Will definitely be back to see her!

We went during a birthday party they were having. It was so much fun with everyone making you feel at home even though we didn’t know anyone. Great food, great music, and wonderful people.

Went here for dinner, enjoyed a few drinks and got the cheese curds and chicken wings. My wife got the burger sliders and fries. The food was amazing and the drink prices were very reasonable. I would recommend this place for watching sports or just to have a nice dinner.

We come to Tampa from out of state to visit family. We’ve missed this little gem in the past and stumbled across it really by accident. We WILL be back!!! I don’t know if it was our server suggestions or if everything is awesome…but each thing we tried had all of the small details done just right. Hats off to Summer for making a perfect Long Island Iced Tea. I travel a LOT and am quite particular. She had perfect recommendations, made great drinks and had that perfect amount of attentiveness that you don’t want them to leave you alone but they’re there right before you were gonna ask. It’ll now be a regular stop on our visits!!!

Tuesday is taco day, very good only $2,00!!! Wednesday I had wings, well done, crispy and flavored nicely!!! If the word was out the place would be packed!!!! I enjoy it here, good food, nice people, cold beer, fair prices!!!! Cold beer, nice people!!!

Overall we did enjoy our food and got decent basic service. However when I checked my bank account I saw that the new waitress, Greidis, according to the receipt, added an extra $20 charge. I gladly took a photo of receipt as I never got a copy. Don't go here unless you want to get ripped off. Always check your bank statements.

This was my first visit there, and I absolutely love it. I will be back often. The bartenders are amazing, the drinks were strong and the food was really good. I had a chance to talk to the owners and I'm really impressed. Glad the were able to make it thru covid. If you're in the area, stop in, have a drink and play some pool.

Came from out of town. I didn't know anyone or anything. The owners kate, and larry, made me feel like family. Their dedication to their patrons goes above and beyond. The food is definitely an icing on the cake. Great menu, great drinks, awesome atmosphere. Anytime you're in tampa, stop by here and grab some wings and a beer. You cant go wrong with this gemstone of a bar.

Best damn wings! Love the Memphis Rub. Great staff and just great food all the way around. It's even nicer you can order online and pick it up.

Random stop for dinner. 1st time in this area. Very welcoming, good menu, good prices. Ribs were phenomenal and our bartender Gio was amazing! If we ever come back to this area we will definitely stop in again!

First visit to this local bar and restaurant. With a clean and friendly atmosphere this place was a pleasant surprise. Greeted a our table by our server Yassamen she was ready to welcome us and take our drink order and go over some of the menu with knowledge and suggested items to try. She was able to send the chef Jay over to explain some of his special dishes. Beer was cold food was great. Thanks Jay. All in all a great stop. Hope to pop a beer bar again soon thanks !

I brung my family here today. We 40 wings a salad and an appetizer. Listen it was all amazing. The cook is a robot not only we’re you guys jammed packed and the food was coming out accurate and fast. He was actually serving all the tables. I’ve never anything like it . He cooks and brings it out. Def made a new life long customer. Take care of that kid he’s amazing
