If I could give zero stars I would. The stylist that I was with was all friendly in the beginning but as soon as I said what I wanted done with my hair it all went south. No friendly chatting anymore and it's not even at the worst part yet. I told the stylist (Nina) that I just wanted about 4 inches taken off, and I'll admit that I kinda went with getting layers when she suggested it. But as soon as she said "Do you want curtain bangs?", I said absolutely not (I've gotten them in the past and they DID NOT look good on me). Fast forward and near the end of the service I noticed that my hair looked shorter than 4 inches, I paid then walked to my car. My sister, who was also getting her hair done said in the car that the stylist gave me curtain bangs and cut my hair much shorter than 4 inches. It has taken me a long time to grow out my hair. My hair is the one thing that I truly love about myself. But Nina, god even knows if she has experience with cutting hair, had to ruin that for me, yeah I know that hair grows back but it'll take up to maybe a year or two to have my hair the way it was again. I wouldn't be this snotty about it if she would've cut my hair evenly too. Never going back to this location ever again.

So I just tried this salon again. The woman with the glasses is gone, who buzz cut me. The stylist who worked on my hair, Angel, was amazing. As always everyone at this salon is friendly. Definitely recommend.

DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE. ESPECIALLY DONT GET KRISTI!! I asked for a 2 inch trim on the left side and to make the right side even. LOOK AT THIS!! There goes years of hair growth for me to make this even acceptable.. I want my money back Kristi!!!

I love my haircut. I have been to other Great Clips locations before and felt very rushed through the cut. Natalie really took her time and made it look great

So I brought in a picture of how I wanted my hair to look ,the older woman with glasses. Pretty much just shaved my head. I now have to wear a hat. My hair looks nothing like picture I brought in. In addition she had me out of chair before I could put my glasses on and look at hair. Worst stylist and haircut ever.

Nikki was my stylist today. She is very welcoming and friendly. We had a fun conversation about the typical workday and our upcoming plans for the holiday. She did a great job at interpreting my kind of vague/ awkwardly worded haircut request. I never know the terms to use, but she nailed it without me using proper terminology. I'm 100% satisfied with the new clean look!

My experiences at this location are often pretty mixed. You can end up with a very friendly and competent stylist on one visit, while on other visits the stylist can be actively unfriendly. Difficult to offer a fully positive recommendation, though there are some great stylists here.

Great with my two kids (4 & 2 years old) and great cuts for myself and my husband. I was able to show them a photo of what cut I was interested in and they were able to make me happy! Cant wait for the location to open back up!

I have been here before but my most recent experience surpassed any I have had in many years from the stylist L...! I will be back soon.

A young lady named Danny (not spelled like that) cut my hair using a point cut. Something I never heard of. It looks great! I highly recommend her.

I always get a buzz cut, and they know how I like it. Best if you check in for an appointment on line on their web site before you come. Literally no waiting.

I was there for a hair wash at the Downers Grove location. This is the first time I was at this location and first bad experience for wash. First the person who helped didn’t do a thorough job at washing - didn’t rinse out all the product of the hair, and just combed the hair out. Basically left my hair dripping water, without drying at all. When asked she said she would charge me for a haircut if I wanted her to dry my hair and I said ok to that as well as I wasn’t leaving the premises with wet hair. She barely dried my hair and said I was done, I wasn’t happy with that at all..if I am paying for now wash - 6 and haircut - 14, total - 20 to dry my hair, I wasn’t going to leave without drying me hair. I thought it was only fair for her to dry hair atleast 80-90% and I asked her to do that before I left..she wasn’t very happy but still did it as asked. I didn’t mind paying 20, at this point in time but take some pride in your work whether it’s cutting or washing or drying the hair.

First haircut here and definitely won't be the last as thanks to an amazing haircut from Natalie!! Cut exactly the way I wanted and it looks great!! Thanks Natalie! See you in a month!

My stylist was perfect. She did an excellent job. She took great care of me and the salon was clean. There was a regular of theirs that came in and he was noticably drunk and loud and cursing. I can't rate the experience because of his behavior though. Drunks need hair cuts too. Affordable comes with inconvience.
