Don’t know why this surgery exists, can never get an appointment, always busy tone, and then they put you in a que that takes over an hour to get through to someone, overall takes 2-3 hours just on the phone! Absolutely disgusting.

The doctors here are great but the same can not be said about the receptionists and appointment booking system. You have more chance of winning the lottery than you do of getting an appointment here. If you ring up you’re place in a queue of 25+ other callers and if you haven’t dropped dead by the time it’s your turn, the receptionists will simply hang up on you like they did to me just now. “You are caller number 1” and then they hung up before even saying anything. What an absolute joke!!!! The only reason I’m still with this GP is because it’s close to my house and is clean. Can’t even remember the last time I went to see a doctor (at least over 7 years ago) but I already hate this place. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!!

UPDATE: I was a receptionist and trainer at this place so I know exactly what im talking about. The patient experience manager basically bullied me and other staff out of our positions there and when I did hand in my notice, she bullied me out of that early too. She deleted me from the works whatsapp group so I wouldnt have any way of telling my work friends that I had been told to leave the practice before my notice period had finished. I still work for the NHS and thankfully have an amazing team I work with now. This practice is a business, and treats patients as such. There are far too many patients to deal with for the staff that work there because as a business, they won't ever close the books. They want more patients because that makes more money which is all they are bothered about, as its a business first and foremost. The partners run other businesses from there too. They have bought the pharmacy next door to the great horten branch. Its all about the money, not the patient experience. They have a business manager, not a practice manager. There's a huge turn over of reception staff because of the incredibly stressful job and the lack of support from management for them. Receptionists are the first point of contact for patients and get all the abuse, shouted and sworn at, and yet, management, specifically immediate management (patient experience manager) do all they can to appease the abusive person over caring for the poor receptionist who has suffered the abuse. Is it a wonder the receptionists are in and out of this place as if going through a revolving door after putting up with such passive aggressive behaviour, and thats from managers not patients! Unfortunately, if your face doesn't fit, or you aren't a close personal friend of immediate management, then you won't last long. This is an awful place for patients and for staff to work in, passive aggressive bullying isn't something anyone should have to put up with, if you can avoid this place in any capacity, then do so at all costs.

I wish to complain about the service at Ridge Medical Practise Cousen Road. I have been trying to access a doctor and each time I hv called I have been on the phone for hours. When I do finally get through to the receptionist I am advised if you are not terminally Ill or a baby with health issues she is unable to book me an appointment. Your values as an organisation are promote openness, to treat everyone with respect and equality. Friendly is also another value that everyone is welcome. Caring you are passionate about people, and lastly innovative where you are looking ahead and finding efficient ways of working. Under no circumstances have you incorporated the above values as I have not been treated equally, compassionately and definitely not welcome when I am being told no more appointments are available unless you are dying. This kind of behaviour does not create patient trust and confidence. I feel let down and disappointed. The staff are polite and I understand they are under immense pressure and stress. The Doctors are lovely too. My complaint is about the service or should I say the lack of it. It is extremely frustrating spending 2 hours on the phone every morning to be then told all appointments have been taken. Recently I have suffered a severe rash that has come on suddenly and aggressively. It started on the 4th November only to be told it could be viral or allergic. I spent weeks treating myself over the counter. I also went to the hospital because I was extremely frustrated only to be told everything was ok. When in fact it wasn’t ok. I am assuming a basic blood test was carried out and sent home. I was advised by the GP he will refer my rash to a dermatologist and called me 2 days later. The hospital wanted to refer me however, when I informed them my GP was looking into this. On Friday 18th November I went out for some food and the following morning I have had another severe reaction. It started with a sore throat but I ignored this. My skin has reacted to something I have had to eat. On Sunday morning at 4:am due to the lack of sleep and itchiness I have had to call 111 who did not support me. Previously your service was outstanding you could book appointments online. It was innovative, and accessible. I feel really unsatisfied with the service lately and feel you have not taken my illness seriously. I haven’t been eating properly as I am too scared to eat in case I have another reaction. I also worry it could cause an anaphylactic shock. I urgently need an allergic RAST panel of blood test including patch testing. Can someone pls call me, I am unable to even leave a complaint on the website as it’s just a feedback form. Kind regards,

Honestly if I could give it zero stars I would, so hard to get an appointment, reception staff are rude + don't let you get a sentence out just keep saying you have to ring back at 8.15am. Clearly no concept of people who have to work, the e-consult thing is a joke it also never works properly + the phone lines are always solid. I now get so panicky about having to ring up, it's really not worth it.

Absolutely nightmare to get through, the phone system is a joke,! I feel sorry for the elderly and vulnerable,. We are a household of 9 and have been patients for many years but unfortunately we are looking to register elsewhere, only persevered as dr Beani is very good dr, but that’s if you can actually get through to surgery and make an appointment to see him which is practically impossible, !!!! Very poor service No duty of care left Constantly having to chase everything it’s like a rat race.. such a shame .. I wouldn’t even rate it 1 star

Absolutely appalling, my son tried and tried over 3 days to get an appointment to see a doctor, like everybody else he either couldn't get through or was told to call back tomorrow at 8:15am. The halfwit receptionists don't bother to ask what the problem is to ascertain if there is any urgency. Long story short my son was blue lighted to the BRI, he had pneumonia, as I said appalling service. On a positive note the ambulance service and the BRI's care was exemplary.

Unable to even access receptionist. I called multiple times in order to check if i had an appointment for my mental health. No response whatsoever. Dangerous receptionist. If someone were having suicidal thoughts and dire need of help, they would not respond and the person would be met with "if you are calling in regards to booking a covid or flu appointment, please end the call now".

They won't take the individual needs of patients medical restrictions seriously. GPs have next to no care for their patients whatsoever. They will close and request you to relog concerns to buff their stat numbers. If you can, go absolutely anywhere else. This is based on over 5 years of experience and many appointments, I've had medical concerns that have been ongoing for years now, putting up with them is simply less tedious than trying to get any form of appropriate care from this GP practice. Overall they are a disgrace to the community and to healthcare.

I totally understand how serious covid is but how come we still cant see doctors or physios in person. I have been in agony for weeks and they just give u exercises over email to do. How do they even know exactly what it is without seeing u. I am not surprised a&e are struggling because its the only way u get to see an actual human. The doctors are putting preasure on hospitals by not seeing patients

Dr Muhammad sultan absolutely disgusting, attitude from the start, wouldn't remove mask so I could lipread as I'm deaf, literally made me feel like a child that had done something wrong. The guy needs to treat his patients better I also saw him speak to his colleagues with disrespect too vile

As a quick summary of my impression - they have fantastic reception staff (knowledgeable, helpful), a bizarrely broken telephone queue system, and a very mixed bag of clinical staff (we've spoken to very helpful doctors and I believe one who twice jumped at the first excuse in a consultation to terminate it, as if he is allergic to mum). We've had just registered mum here, and boy I had no idea how hard it can be to get an appointment... The first 30 callers at 8.15 sharp get into a telephone queue. Nrs 31 to 3000 ALL get a busy tone. So you have NO idea how many people are trying to get into the first 30. It is a lottery. The 'Customer Navigation Manager' that I eventually spoke to tells me this is WHAT PATIENTS ASKED FOR! Who on earth would prefer a busy tone than to keep being updated on your position in the queue ? Later I may get time to add the story of being dragged over there to see a doc (mum in wheelchair) only to be told by the doc (without even examining mum nor introducing himself to her as a new patient) that GPs are not qualified to examine a mouth sore... ! I mean, why not just tell us that on the phone or email.

If I could put zero star I would! Receptionist cut the phone deliberately and put it on unavailable after 12pm while it is supposed to be open from until 6pm!!! I was sat there in front of them, my daughter was ringing them from home and the lady at the reception told her she was really busy while she was talking about her holidays with her colleague!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. Condescending and smug attitude from the reception admins who are clearly over their job!

I wouldn’t even give this place a one star. The phone lines are diabolical, Iv called on multiple occasions well in excessively over 100 times just to be greeting with user busy. The surgery’s used to be managed a lot better when they was based in different buildings since it has all been moved to one single place to many patients flocking to one number with by the sounds of it ONE receptionist!??? It’s disgusting not very responsive baffles me how CQC can rate this as good quality care when no one can get to see or speak to anyone

Iv been with this practice for 18 years. Since it got its new building it has extremely gone down hill. You could be dying and still not get an appointment for weeks. Iv rang 200+ times in one morning and still never got through. Dint get my meds in time. Once my daughter ended up in hospital because they are too incompetent to do their jobs properly doc, nurse and receptionist. Was admitted for over 2 weeks. I dont know why they havent sorted it out yet the amount of complaints they get. Disgusting. Youd have better hope sittin in A&E for 7 hours

This place is like a place from hell I rang over 60 times today with no luck , I went down and found two ladies well relaxed behind the desk. I asked for appointment and they said please can you ring in??? I told them the system is. It working and I’ve had to come down, they after hesitating and checking notes said the dr will call you. All for a emergency. Best to avoid these guys.

NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE Absaloutly astonisted with the attitude and behaviour of the second receptionist after waiting nearly 2 hours was told you can't speak on behalf of your child who is 17 and at school. He will have to ring himself, with arrogance and a chip on the shoulder you get paid for your job not a single ounce of humanity monstrous behaviour. I fully understand that your job is very stressful and you can reach boiling point. But you have chosen your occupation and get paid, speaking with you i could sense you have zero customer service skills. When i told you i would bring my child in after school then because by the time we get through on the phone you will be closed "what you gona do when you come here" presuming violence trying to light a spark which you failed miserably, pathetic childish immature behaviour at best. Risking the safety of yourself and your colleagues not knowing if the person you was speaking with had any mental health, schizophrenia illnesses who could easily be encouraged. 29th January 2021 a letter was sent electronically via spec savers which you said was not received. 14th feb 2021and then 2nd july 2021 further letters ignored, so spoke with reception 4 occasions and explained about my sons deterioration in his eye sight and twice gave hand held letters asking for arrangements to be referred as a priority due to the delay. I spoken with bri booking dept and discovered you made contact on the 22nd of November 2021 10 months after the very first letter. I have been lied to on many occasions and sent from one place to another chasing shadows. Not only have i lost trust in your care but you will be held responsible once i seek legal advice. You have my contact details i am waiting for an explanation you have failed in your core duty as a care institute.

Had to deal with the Racist staff again today to get a doctors appointment, doctors are ok but the admin, call centre staff and especially the RECEPTIONIST! The definition of racism, treat me like dirt again today. Very rude, very very arrogant, one wearing glasses today elderly one full of anger towards me. White fella came in went all nice and sweet, made me and my wife wear a mask. White guy walks in did not say a thing, then I took my off and she was raging and couldn’t say anything otherwise I would of caught her out! Over 30yrs been going to Ridge only for Doctors they are ok receptionist need firing and new staff to come in with zero tolerance to racism policy. Speak to the elderly ethnic minority patients they will tell you, I seen how they treat them just because they English is weak! Its time the national media got involved and exposed them, they don't even have a complaints process about their staff on their website, just a feedback form which does nothing! Watch out for receptionist!!! They are actively promoting now every time they get someone who has had bad experiences to go elsewhere to another practice if your black and brown, seen it time and time again! If you get even slightly upset with them over something they have got completely wrong and complain they will send you a letter saying you will be de-registered from the surgery, stating you were unprofessional regardless if you were or not. They are going unchallenged as no complaints procedure or independent regulator, they will be shut down if the complaint procedure was their that is effective and independent. I am thinking of going to local press and my MP having enough of them now, letting the surgery down and the hard work the doctors and nurses do, fire the receptionist and get some ethnic minority ones in as well to atleast reduce the racism!

This centre is not even worthy of one star. I had to put that because thats the minimum requirement. Getting an appointment is a nightmare here. When you call you can't get through and if you are lucky you are caller number 32 and for hours you are on the phone. I had a appointment after math of some test and in that appointment i was told an health professional will get in touch with to advise you on nutritions. That was it. waste of my time and of course their own time. The worse experience i have ever had with any medical practice.

James is the best 👌 James all the way. He had time for his patient - very thorough too and probably has more time for patients I found. I felt more Inferior when he brought the gp in to assess. Good outcome but that James guy is the one to be proud of patients. He's so cute too 😊🤗

I have not been able to see the doctor for myself since the lockdowns 4to 6 years . The appointment making system is very inefficient, I’ve given up trying to ring when ever I try online appointments they don’t seem to be working . As a result it has had a huge impact on the quality of my life . My menopause symptoms are effecting my everyday life . I am a carer for my autistic son and daughter, it’s effecting the quality of care given to them by me . Even if you do have good drs I have no easy access to them . Carers and mothers are known to always put themselves last and your system has added to this by not wanting to get in touch due to the hopelessness of getting through and having a dr who has expertise in your condition. I have sent an email to address this interesting to see if I get an appropriate answer . The building is posh I’m sure the gps are good but I’ve no idea because I haven’t seen one for myself in a long time . The doorway are your receptionist and the appointment system which obviously don’t give justice to your profession . Frustrated and overlooked .

I never leave reviews, however...This practice deserves zero stars. Im so glad this isnt my normal gp practice and I feel sorry for all those that are registered here. Booked travel vaccines with these guys and I've been trying to cancel my appointment since last week. The line either hangs up straight away saying line busy or if I do manage to ring through I'm caller number 26, no matter what time i phone!! That is an absolute joke! Spent 15 mins on hold on the phone yesterday waiting to make my way down the que and after that time It still kept saying caller number 26. Think this practice needs to invest in more staff.

There were 2 ladies at the reception desk one hard working and lovely and the other one so incompetent she knows there’s a queue stands there doing absolutely nothing sack her

Terrible service. Can never make an appointment over the phone as I can not sit on hold for nearly an hour whilst I'm at work. E-consults always seem to be closed and say check back tomorrow morning regardless of what time I check them, are they even still used? Surgery still seems to be operating at very low numbers and even if you do get an appointment it's a phone appointment which is useless in a lot of cases. The surgery seems to have overextended themselves in recent years with taking on way too many patients and as a result you can not get an appointment! It's absolutely horrendous, I've tried for over a month now to make an appointment but have been unable to do, because as I said before I can not sit on hold for an hour and e-consults are always closed.

I've been here a couple of years now. Overall I find the practice excellent. As other reviewers have pointed out sometimes you will get lumbered with a bad receptionist or a bad doctor for whatever reason and it does impact you as it is a surgery and no one would be ringing or coming in for the fun of it. The other doctors clinicians and receptionists are excellent in their roles. Questions vaccinations health care treatment has been top notch. They've also redesigned their website making it easier to navigate to what you need. I'd recommend this surgery.

Can’t get through, they never get back in contact when they are supposed to. Also e-consult has stopped working so if you need an appointment it’s impossible to obtain one. Also the receptionist I spoke to was like speaking to a robot, she would keep repeating the same thing over and over again. Literally no use waiting to even get through. Will have to change doctors if I actually want to speak with a doctor. Can't give lower than 1 star rating otherwise I would have done.

A useless institution that does not perform its functions. In a month and a half, I have never received a record from a doctor face to face and I have to return to work with the same back and knee pain because no one was interested in finding fault and trying to find a solution to my problem. Getting an appointment with a doctor at this facility is an impossible mission, a waste of time and driving yourself into depression because you feel helpless from the staff's indifference to you as a patient.

I have been trying to get an appointment myself and can't get through as the phones are constantly busy! It is frustrating when you are in need for an appointment or a querie. It will be the same at any practice in Bradford at the moment I guess.. Last time I did manage to have a telephone consultation with Dr Towers was very helpful and arranged further appointments I needed.. As for the receptionist they are doing a very difficult job and only doing what the practice has trained them for. I have never found any receptionist rude or argumentative.Always helpful especially Christine who I have spoken to on many occasions and will deal with the queries as best as she can leaving me reassured. So five stars for Christine! :)

I have never seen anything like it. The level of unprofessionalism and not bothered attitude by the staff is shocking and down right disgusting. They think they are doing us a favour by giving us an appointment. To them we are just a number and that is why we are spoken to so rudely and disrespectfully. An ex member of staff told me they purposely place the phone lines on engaged tone so they can all attend a meeting every morning from 8.30am to 9am this has been going on for years. The Clinical Commissioning Group seriously needs to shut this practice down due to abuse of position.

Cannot get on the website to order prescription. It keeps saying that attackers might be stealing my information from them. Every other website I use works fine so it isn't a problem from my end. Looks like they might have been hacked. Be careful everyone if this happens to you. Trying to call them but as per usual it's constantly engaged....

Don't deserve the 1 star. My brother passed away in June yet we still get appointment letters for him! Read the patients record! It will clearly say he is deceased! Absolutely appalling, continuing to cause distress to myself and my parents who sadly lost their son, and I lost my brother when he was aged just 32! If they read the records another patient would be able to have my beloved late brothers appointments! Oh then they have the cheek to send letters because he missed the appointment, despite them being informed several times he has passed away may aswell tell the brick wall. Rant over I hope none of them lose a loved one and have too open their post 6 months on!
