The Oldest Irish Pub in Cleveland! Pierogies and cold beer hit the spot on a warm day. Super nice bartender. They were also running a free shuttle to/from Cavs basketball games.

Loved the French onion soup! I think this might have been my favorite soup! For appetizer we had the rib/fry combo - the ribs were great...plenty of meat and a great sauce. The fries were probably the biggest let down...just regular greasy pub fries. The garlic parm wings were fantastic tho! I had the Perch which was really good - flaky and plenty of it. Taste was great, loved every bite! My daughter had the Carolina chicken and absolutely loved it as well! We weren't crazy about the cucumber ranch - the cucumber taste was too strong, it was good, but might have been a little better if it was toned down...but that might just be us. The server was very friendly and attentive - unfortunately I don't recall her name. Overall I would highly recommend Flat Iron!!

Terrific food. Great perch, fries are fresh, vegetables are fresh. Great cole slaw. Great atmosphere. Our new favorite restaurant in the flats. Monday is burger day, half price. It seems every time we come to Cleveland, we end up here!

Staying in the area for work, and had a couple locals tell me to “go to the flat iron and order lake perch”. Finally made it in for lunch, ordered the perch sandwich and onion rings. This is said to be local Lake Erie perch and a “must have” while in the area. They did not lack in the portion size, the sandwich was stacked with fish, which was fried perfectly, and delicious! The onion rings were enormous and crispy and maybe even stole the show from the perch. Washed it all down with a local beer, and out the door for around $20. Great lunch, great historic location, and great staff! I’d return again, next time later in the evening to enjoy a few more beers and the live music advertised.

The food was excellent. The service was excellent. Sometimes when you go to a restaurant in-between meal times, both the food and service are less. Absolutely not true for the Flat Iron Cafe. At 3pm on a Monday we were eating a delicious meal in very short order.

Stephanie is awesome and always takes care of everyone at the bar! Love watching her hustle and make sure everyone is acknowledged. Superior customer service! The food is great too, looks to good to even eat! Thanks so much for always taking care of us when we come in especially for The Renegade Sundays at the park next door. It means alot to us to have this establishment support us and we are more than happy to give our support back!

Ok, first things first.. this is one of the most renowned 'haunted' bars in Cleveland, so I'd give it a 10 for Atmosphere if I could! We had my husband's birthday here in the party room and had an excellent experience all around. This place is perfect for a large group, you get your own room and bartender upstairs. On our most recent visit we sat downstairs and chatted about ghosts with our server. The wings were so good we placed a second order. And the icing on the cake?? I think a ghost switched one of my pennies out for a dime. Like, not kidding, you can ask our server, except I can't remember her name. Either way, given it's history and unique location, the Flat Iron is a long standing favorite for good reason. The food is perfect for cooler weather too, who doesn't love a hearty Shepard pie on a chilly December day?

I had my husbands surprise birthday party in the banquet room. This was by far the best venue I have been to. Booking and planning was super smooth and easy. All of the food was phenomenal, but the shepherds pie is the best I’ve ever had. The service was outstanding. 10/10 would recommend. We will be frequenting the restaurant more often than we already do, and for sure booking future events here. Thank you for helping make his birthday even more memorable.

I had a birthday party for my wife in their private party room upstairs. We could not of asked for a better time. The bartenders were absolutely amazing and I am still getting compliment texts on how good the food was. This place is great for a quick pint and some wings before a game but even better for parties.

Love coming here. However, I do think the waitresses should be dressed more appropriately. Cut off shorts with with holes in them do not look appropriate and tiedie shirts aren't appropriate either. Other than that, great place to eat!!! Love coming here for the clamchowder.

My boyfriend and I had a BLAST! The main reason coming in was my endless craving for lake perch, and I PERSONALLY believe THIS PLACE FRIES THE BEST PERCH! Yup, I said it. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was amazing, and the root beer float for dessert was just as good. It's definitely not a "white tablecloth" place, hence the occasional patrons singing along to the music playing in the background. Come in and hoist a few and grab a platter of fish while you're there. It's definitely worth the 3 hour drive.

Come for the food, stay for the people! Friendly, helpful staff and great food. Every visit is a pleasure. They make you feel right at home. And a great place before a Browns or Indians game. Take the shuttle up and save on parking!

When you ask the question “where should we eat, I don’t want to be disappointed again?” Flat Iron is always the answer. Friendly staff, good food and everything you want from an Irish bar!

AJ was the perfect server. Made sure all was great and got whatever we needed. Ask for him when you go. You won't be disappointed! Food was great. Sheppard pie was lamb and great. Meatloaf was awesome too.

I had the shepherd's pie, it was served piping hot. So hot that the last bite just about burned the inside of my mouth. I was torn between ordering Lake Erie perch and shepherd's pie, but I don't regret my choice. We stopped here on a rainy Saturday close to 1pm. They weren't busy, our server was attentive to us the whole time. Could be different if they're busy, our time here was great.

Not my best experience tonight at the Flat Iron. Seating was slow despite many open tables. 2 waitresses (one was doubling as a barkeep) so they didn’t have enough hands on deck. Once seated things went well and food was the usual great experience but sheesh…I don’t know why the “please wait to be seated” sign was up if they couldn’t manage seating people (yes in the end they said “go seat yourself…?”😳😳😳)

The service was great. The food was really good. I had the fish and chips, and the only thing I wouldn't even call it a complaint is the fish had a lot of batter for me. Again, good and others may like more batter, but it was very good and our server was super friendly and came back often for drinks and anything wise we may have needed.

The wife and I stopped in after a day at the aquarium and let me tell you these guys rock, great atmosphere and the food was second to none in the area, try their chili!! Best chili I’ve ever had hands down, my wife ordered it and I had the Cajun burger and when I tried a bite I was immediately jealous and had to “taste” it a few more times till she said no more. Great little Irish pub and great staff tip your waitress/waiters good they deserve it!

I hosted a bridal shower for my future daughter in law at the Flat Iron Cafe in their banquet room. The room was a nice size with a bar area and clean restrooms. The owners were flexible and responsive to work with when arranging the details for food selection, setup plans and general questions. The food was delicious! If you are planning an event soon you should consider having it here. Wonderful experience!

So glad we stopped here for dinner at my friends bachelor party, everything was great. Guinness was poured perfectly and the meatloaf dinner was 5 star. Server was incredible as well. I would drive there from Toledo again just for dinner and a beer.

👍 March 2022: Stopped here for lunch on a comp from the Jack Casino. They gave me $30 that I used to get the Double melt, tots, vanilla shake, and chili to go. Pros: * Clean restaurant with a bar and plenty of TVs on the walls. * Friendly staff who were attentive to my needs. It was not very busy so...
