I reserved a seat on 4/30 to celebrate my graduation. The food was way beyond my expectations. The chef really knew what s/he was doing. First, speaking of the quantity of the dish, there were 4-5 kinds of starters, the main course, and a dessert on the chef's menu--enough for me to eat to satiety after a long day of commencement and celebration activities. Second, the quality of the food was impeccable. The freshness of the ingredients and the balance among flavor was carefully controlled. I really like how the apple slices highlighted the salad. The service was also excellent. After knowing I couldn't eat spicy food, a staff changed my jalapeño to another dish, which was delicious. The music was good, and the vocalist was skillful. Overall, 10/10, will definitely come again!

This is an excellent place for great live jazz music and great food. Everything is reservations because there's a start time for the live music. The atmosphere is really good, nice and relaxing. This isn't really an environment for conversations, the music is not background music, it's an experience. The food is artistically designed. Only down side is I wish the back seating was a booth setup so that my wife and I had a more intimate experience. Other than that, great place we'll be returning to.

We had a great experience! This evening jazz club has great service, friendly people, live performances, drinks, and dinner. Reserve a table in advance - they book up fast - and there's only so many seats at the bar. The main dishes are small-portioned. We bought one appetizer, one drink, and three dishes just to feel fed. So be prepared to buy appetizers, dinner, drinks, and dessert for the full experience. For those with families, we brought our toddler, but it's more of a date-night vibe. They don't have any high chairs or changing tables.

This establishment blew me away from the moment I walked through its doors. The service was great, the entertainment was perfect and the food was even better. Dimitrius nabors was performing with his bans and it was just perfect for a date night. We paid 85$ per person and they just kept bringing out amazing dishes one after another. Absolutely going back and soon! Worth every penny.

Incredible experience every time I come here! Great jazz bands and the atmosphere is always welcoming. Food and cocktails are superb, especially if you buy tickets to the Chefs tasting menu. Have already done it twice and would go back again in a heartbeat!

LOVED. Came here to see Christian Sands. I'm giving this a 5/5 for the live music which was absolutely incredible. The food was pretty good. The drinks are fantastic. The main course (chicken) was okay at best but the appetizers were delicious. It is pricey so not somewhere I'd visit often. You can see an awesome jazz show for a fraction of the cost at Cliff Bells for example, but it's worth the experience and ambiance. I will definitely be back!

Definitely one of the best jazz clubs to be at in Ann Arbor. Conveniently located downtown, the blue llama has many jazz artists of superb quality. The atmosphere and vibe is impossible to top. Oh, and the mussels were really good!

I surprised my husband with a show to see Samara Joy. We've lived in Michigan our whole lives and have never visited the Blue Llama. It was such an amazing experience. Samara Joy was absolutely amazing. The venue was gorgeous and created a whole vibe. The food was exquisite and we got to try a lot of things we probably would have never ordered. The staff was super friendly. I highly recommend this club and this will not be our last time attending.

I have now been to the Blue Llama Jazz club twice and it really is one of A2's top restaurants in my opinion. I love it! The food is stellar. Kind of fun and made to lip licking perfection. I absolutely loved the music both times. Even tho quite different from each other. One night a deep voiced female singer the other a wonderful full stage steel drum band. The total in experience has me wanting more. More of their delightful food, more of their fantastic ambiance and much more of whomever they put on stage! Oh by the way did you know that there is a white Pinot Nior??!! Well they do, there is, its from France we had it here and it was Amazing!!!

Nice atmosphere, but the menu isn't that great..As a matter of fact AWFUL...Needs better choices, almost 50 bucks for a 10 oz pork chop that I had to send back twice because it was soooo salty. The side of sweet potatoes tasted like pureed baby food..yuckkk The side choices are not great. Please revamp the menu, Also, no great appetizers. May not return.I'm okay with food prices if the food was well worth it,not in this case.THE PORTIONS ARE SMALL FOR AN AVER 100 BILL.Again the menu us horrible from..... Atlanta.

I thought about giving this place a 1 star to keep it a secret, but that would not be right! My wife and I went here last night and order the flight meal option where the chef decides everything that comes out (minus any allergy or special diet requests). It was the best dining experience we have ever had. Literally, the best. So many unique dishes that we would have not ordered otherwise and they were all amazing. The music and setting was great as well. We can’t stop taking about it! This is a special place! But don’t tell anyone! ;)

This was my third time here and it’s definitely a MUST if you enjoy life music. The vibe is always wonderful and the music is incredible. I always bring people here when they come in town- it’s the best. Service is great- there is typically a $15 cover. I never eat here, just drink - wish they had some fries tho.

I came here to celebrate my 27th birthday with my family. I had a grand time. We showed up a bit early due to us living in Toledo, Ohio. We sat in the front and enjoyed some nice bread and butter and also enjoyed a lovely sweets complements of the chef. I enjoyed a lovely drink 🍹 made as a surprise from the bartender. We were showed to our table shortly after. The live band was amazing. It’s been so long since I’ve been to a jazz club. The overall ambience was a 10/10 and now for the food, words can’t express how flavorful each dish were, definitely 10/10 as well. If you love good music 🎼 and food I highly recommend this place. Enjoyed lovely drinks, food and dance with my dad. The bill was $260 for all 4 of us, which is quite reasonable for all the food and drinks we ordered.

We’ve never had anything other than an absolutely wonderful experience at the Blue Llama. When I walk into the dining room I feel as though I’ve been transported to a Manhattan jazz club. The room is beautiful with all its organic curves and fun lighting. All the tables have their focus on the stage and they all have great sight lines. The servers are top-notch with just the right amount of attentiveness. The food is outstanding. I have to specifically highlight the Chocolate Tower we tried for the first time last night. It was out of this world! The best dessert I’ve had in many a year. The music is always predictably wonderful. It is so nice to have a place where the jazz is front and center, not just playing in the background. I’m already planning our next visit!

Excellent Chef and cuisine, maybe the best in A2, in the ambiance of jazz concerts on their intimate stage. The restaurant was designed for excellent acoustics. Their wine list is extensive and eclectic. Most importantly, my wife loves it and yours will too.

The environment is great, the place is well-appointed and it feels like a nice upscale yet intimate setting. The waitress was attentive and just overall very good. I do however not think that the food is worth the price. Portions are small, the gumbo had one measly overcooked shrimp, grits were salty and the dessert was tasty but laughably small. I recommend going for drinks.

I would give more stars if I could. Great format - dinner and a show. The venue size is intimate, yet feels full and lively. Sound was top notch. The music was excellent. The hospitality culture was clearly well cultivated and nutured by leadership. When you see the production manager pitching in to bus tables after the show, you know that's a good team. The band even referenced how well they were treated by the venue over the microphone from the stage. We felt the same, from start to finish. Highly reccomend a visit. It was a very easy process getting tickets online, parking and checking in. The chef's tasting is the way to go. It made the night super easy and allowed us to focus on the music. This is a jazz club done right.

5 stars all around. The Blue LLama Jazz Club is a gem in Ann Arbor. The staff is top notch. Every single person who was working the night we visited was so kind. Love the vibes in the space, Music sounded great in there. Easy parking down the street! We loved that our 13 year old son who absolutely loves jazz could attend a dinner and a show with us. So welcoming to all. We will definitely be back!

Went here for a Valentine's Day special event with live Jazz and a chef curated meal. My partner and I were more than impressed with the high quality cuisine and presentation. The show was a mix comedy and romantic jazz. The venue was vibey. Recommend the Valentine's Day Special Event.
