Fantastic place to watch a show. It is a small and intimate venue with great bartenders and staff. We had a great time there. Their main claim to fame is their hot dogs. You can get any topping imaginable on them or hamburgers. I really enjoyed the habanero onions. They also have french fries and potato tots with any type of toppings you would like. See the menus that I posted. They have a fantastic beer selection with many craft choices. I had the 3 Floyd's Hazy IPA. It was really one of the best IPAs I've had for a long time. It is in a very good area and there is parking all around. I drove two and a half miles to get there and was not disappointed. We saw Elise Trouw there who is doing tour around the country. She put on a wonderful show.

Check this out! 1/2 off drafts, dogs, and tots on Wednesdays til 6pm. What an awesome deal. Always a good time at Happy Dog. Reasonable prices with or without the deals. Love that you can add whatever toppings that you want, and that there are lots of vegan ones. Alien relish and fruit loops are two of my favorites. The vegan shredded mozzarella is absolutely DELICIOUS!!!!!! Oh, and the tots are the absolute best. Can never go wrong with their tots. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

This place has an iconic vibe. The beautiful wood bar is incredible. It made me wonder about all the people who have gathered around it over the years. The fact that they have 2 vegan hot dog options was epic! Most hotdog places donโ€™t have options for vegans, so this was a real treat. The dog was great and the sheer number of topping choices was a bit overwhelming but amazing. Our server was kind and gave us plenty of time to make our selections. The tots were great but the hotdogs was were where it was at. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Cleveland.

Happy Dog is absolutely delish!!! If you are someone who loves to try new, crazy things, this place is for you!!! You can get about anything (and I mean anything) on your hot dog or burger! Their tater tots and sweet potato fries are to die for! If you are planning a party, they have a basement space you can rent out!

Crazy creations and delicious dogs! Macaroni and fruit loops or Pineapple and eggs?!? Well those are just a few of the combinations possible on there seemingly endless amounts of mix and match options. Two of our favorites from our visit were the pulled pork hot dog with coleslaw, pineapple, bbq and honey mustard and other toppings to recreate one of there recommended hot dogs. We also were really surprised by just how good a fresh egg could taste on top of our bacon and cheese packed breakfast themed hotdog with alien relish. Happy dog also offers a great beer selection both canned and draft. Micro brews to old school brands you just donโ€™t see much anymore it was a fun list to pick from. While an acquired taste the cranberry tart they had on draft was sour but delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful too. I canโ€™t wait to return and maybe hopefully even catch some live music. If there isnโ€™t a band well at least I know there will be pinball!

They've really stepped up their music booking! They're bringing a ton of great bands into town. I don't get as much as I used to but I got out the other night yo see Alien Nosejob from Australia, and it was great! Parking is only downside, but not really a big deal!

My husband and I held our wedding rehearsal dinner at Happy Dog this past weekend and we are SO happy with our decision to do so. If I'm being honest, I was hesitant to host our rehearsal dinner in the basement of a bar but after a trusted friend loved the idea, we moved forward with them. We are so happy we didn't miss out on this experience because of expectations. Happy Dog is a Cleveland staple that my partner and I have loved for years. They have vegetarian and meat-lover options that make everyone happy. We were able to rent out the entire basement space, giving us privacy and our own bartender! The lighting was beautiful and the food was even better. We ordered trays of tots with signature sauces and paid for everyone's food and first beer. HD was able to hook up a microphone for us to speak to our guests and everyone was able to move and mingle freely throughout the space. Not for nothing, the price of Happy Dog was SO competitive. They were able to exceed our expectations and save us some money during a very expensive time. Nick (who we worked with) was very responsive, clear, and kind to work with as well. If you have an event where you want chill vibes with drinks that will fit your budget, have your event here!

Took some family with small kids that were in town here on a Sunday for early dinner. Loved that I could get creative with my hot dog and tots/fries. Liked the tots a little more. They were super crispy. The hot dog has pimento Mac and cheese and Cleveland kimchi. I enjoyed it. Wish the mac and cheese would have been warm though. The staff was also friendly. Overall it was good. I would definitely go back and get more creative with my hot dog and for the tots.

The service and food were great. I ordered a carry out because I had been out all day and was ready to head to the hotel. The employees were friendly and since it was my first time, explained how to order. There were many toppings to choose and they had tater tots which I love. My next visit to Cleveland will include a stop at Happy Dog.

Went here with my family on a Sunday afternoon. The place wasn't crowded at all and we were seated right away. The server was friendly and answered all of questions with a smile. The food was served hot and semi-fresh. The hotdogs were good and we enjoyed the LOTS of toppings they had to offer. For sides we decided to go with tater tots & fries. The tots were a hit with the table but the fries were a big NO. The fries were TOO greasy and appeared severely over cooked. I took 1 look and was afraid to try even 1 fry. Overall, this place is a good for a quick bite. My only suggestion would be to steer clear of the french fries. And just to be clear we DID NOT try the sweet potato fries so I'm not sure how they taste. But the hotdogs were very good.

A Cleveland landmark. Great shows, hot dogs, tots, and cheap beer! What more could you want? Great vintage vibes with the decor and building.

A true one of a kind! Things are kept simple. Food, drinks and music the Cleveland way. A real Rock and Roll capital classic that must be had by all. Hot dogs and burgers. Fries and tots. Beers and live music. Come in and seat yourself grab a paper menu and fill er out. That easy. Than enjoy!

Best local spot for the great variety of hotdogs, burgers, toppings tots, and more. Casual, fun atmosphere with some pinball machines, huge bar, and really excellent sound for live bands. We love the Happy Dog!

If you like hotdogs and quirky places, then add this to your list to visit. It's kind of a whole in the wall atmosphere. However, this type always proves to be the best!! Our group is always on the outlook for quirky, and Happy Dog did not disappoint.

Build your own hot dogs and burgers with tons of creative topping options. Good quality dogs and ingredients. Not sure how they are able to keep prices so low but dinner for 2 with two cocktails was about $40. Definitely worth a visit.

What a fun take of burgers, hot dogs, and tots!!! You build your own, with no limit on toppings and they are decent sized. It is only worth it if you are adventurous and take advantage of the unlimited toppings! Otherwise it can be a little pricey for a plain old hot dog.

A hidden gem for most, serving up custom hot dogs with seemingly a million different toppings choices that can also be put on top of fries or tots. A dive bar atmosphere with a decent draft selection complemented by live music. One tip, don't put too much on your dog - they're big enough already that you don't want to create an absolute mess. I typically order 2 and split an order of tots.

Had a burger here the other night. The menu looked terrific with the "you pick em" choices. Everyone in our group was happy with their dogs and fries. Drinks were good too! Nice neighborhood style place.

If you're looking for a casual, fun space to host an event of 40-50 people, the Underdog at Happy Dog is a great place to start. We host Secret Society Comedy at different venues around town and look forward to working with Tony and the bartenders here every time. Plus, the hot dogs can't be beat - I custom ordered mine Chicago-style, and they brought celery salt without me even asking.

Never had a hot dog quite like this before...the menu has so many toppings and sauces. I ended up getting caramelized onions and peppers. The home cut fries are amazing we added beer cheese fondue to ours delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹

Fun concept where you choose your toppings. I chose a hot dog with chorizo chili, nacho cheese, ballpark mustard and fried egg. EXCELLENT! Fry and tater tot sauces were great as well.

Troy has been frequenting Happy Dog for a long time. Itโ€™s exactly what youโ€™d expect. Great vintage bar vibe, cheap (or expensive craft beers) and hot dog (now burgers too) and wood paneling galore. Tater tots with all the dipping sauces you desire. Donโ€™t sit too close to the fans in summer. Donโ€™t sit too close to the door in winter. Staff is on point. Itโ€™s a no brainer for a quick drink bite to eat.

It was weird being out in public but they required proof of vaccination. The apple cider mimosas were divine. We had a great time.

The novelty of such a weird and varied topping menu for burgers and dogs represents the beginning and the end of this place. Possibly more accurate to describe it as a hot dog themed bar. Kid absolutely loved their burger, but wife and I thought our hot dogs couldโ€™ve used much much higher quality and thicker type bread, as well as just avoiding the unusual toppings. Might go back, but highly doubt it.

We stopped by to see Daisychain on our way back to Michigan and were delighted to see they had lots of vegan options! It was a great spot to hang for the night and enjoy some drinks, food, and music!

Donโ€™t be fooled by the less than inviting surroundings. The food more than makes up for the outdated atmosphere. Perfect amount of crunch on fries and tots. Large hot dogs, burgers make a perfect base for all of the fun and savory topping options.

๐Ÿ‘ March 2022: Stopped here for lunch on a comp from the Jack Casino. They gave me $30 that I used to get the Double melt, tots, vanilla shake, and chili to go.
