I'm not one to write review's but this is hands down one of the best spots for take out around! I work downtown and have eaten about everywhere. This is my go-to. With OUTSTANDING customer service, homemade ingredients, and the prices cannot be beat. Breakfast is absolutely amazing and Angelo and Beth treat you like family. Highly recommend!!!

First Time with Husband I will give them a 5 start. The waiter Sarah very friendly, attentive and great service. I had the kielbasa omelette and a side of potatoes with rye toast. Delicious every bite. Definitely We’ll Come back. Michelle & Sammy

$5 taco salad Tuesday. It was delicious. It's the adult version of a walking taco. So good.

Great breakfast place to grab to go stuff. Their bacon was crispy, the kielbasa was amazingly tasty and had a great grilled char on it and the eggs weren't bad. Service was also pretty top notch so I would totally recommend this place for breakfast.

Located at the bottom of a historic building (Western Reserve Building), Mel's is a must! We found out about him on Yelp, and his cafe is a hidden gem! Yelp reviewers noted that they come down from work during workdays for breakfast and lunch, that the owner is a great conversationalist, makes everything fresh, and would make whatever you want if it's not on his menu, and our experience was spot on with this. We visited on kielbasa omelette special day (we ordered one, of course), and also ordered two kielbasa egg sandwiches on croissants. YUM!!!! So delicious and even our toddler gobbled some up! They just handed over chunks of extra kielbasa just because we told them our toddler would love it and eat it. We took our order to go (there are only two small tables to eat in anyway), and ate by the river (by 'The Flats'). The building is just a block from the water and when we visited (Tuesday mid-morning), there was easy metered parking right across the street. 'Mel' is actually the initials of the owner's three daughters; the owner's name is Angelo. They were so nice, personable, and professional. We would definitely return if we ever run through Cleveland again! Even though he has 5 star ratings with 20-30 reviews on Yelp, we just had to put Mel's on the map with a Google review!

Our group of 7 was trying to get breakfast before a bar crawl at another local cafe but had a huge line. We did a quick Google search and found Mel's so we called them to see if they had a wait. They said they would put some tables together and get us right in. When we got there they had our table ready. Food was really good. Top notch french toast. Very friendly and great service.

Been here three times so far (gotten breakfast sandwiches every time, but they have a lot ofoof stuff on the menu!) and have had a great experience every time! Angelo is a great guy, always strikes up a conversation, his food is delicious and the prices are great! If you're looking for a cozy spot to eat (or get take-out) and don't feel like paying typical Tremont prices, head to Mel's!

Had a really great meal there with our kids. Very accommodating on our orders. I had a good fried egg sandwich on a bagel with breakfast potatoes. Great prices too. Good little local spot. I would go back.

Lovely neighborhood spot that's everything you want it to be. Friendly staff willing to accommodate any order and delicious, cheap breakfast food. Heard they're expanding their menu soon. Can't wait to come back!! Thank you for a lovely breakfast.

We were wondering looking for a place to eat and the owner Kevin and Mike saw us and brought us to the Sports Bar. It was just like Cheers, a friendly and almost family atmosphere. The food was great and when we get back to Cleveland we will certainly stop by again. The bar was quiet and right in the middle of the area where the Cavs were playing the first playoff game and the Indians had their first Saturday game. It was very nice, the hot dogs were great and the staff was nice. Thanks Kevin and Mike!!

Anyone who knows diners and cafes knows that the smallest, most simple ones do the absolute best food with the best service. That is very true for Mel's. If you're looking for a great diner/cafe style breakfast, or just a great lunch sandwich, this is where to go in Tremont. I'll definitely be visiting again!

👍 March 2022: Stopped here for lunch on a comp from the Jack Casino. They gave me $30 that I used to get the Double melt, tots, vanilla shake, and chili to go. Pros: * Clean restaurant with a bar and plenty of TVs on the walls. * Friendly staff who were attentive to my needs. It was not very busy so...
