I would not go here if you have a concussion. Please go somewhere else. I had to go back to this Hospital because the nurse said I wasn't sounding right. They're not owned by Summa they're partnered with University Hospital but Unity Hospital owns this Hospital. I have never received the amount of disrespect in the eight hours I had to go back to the hospital. I guess when it comes to Patient Care they lock it first time I went they asked if I lived in a group home second time I went I got treated like the symptoms I had and still have from a concussion didn't really matter and got yelled at basically because I came back and they said unless I'm growing up continuously or have other symptoms to come back but basically what they're saying is we treated you just don't come back. I have never in my life felt so much hurt from medical professionals and gas-lit to. It breaks my heart that I am still feeling the way I do still trying to figure out things but I guess when it comes two hospitals don't go here. Not only will they treat you like they don't care about you but they will also say things to you that makes you feel worse than you already happen. If they didn't know how to treat somebody who has a concussion they should've sent me to a different hospital. To a hospital that would do an observation for for the night and not just send me home .

I had an outpatient surgery today. I must admit everybody I encountered at the hospital were wonderful, from the receptionist, anesthesiologist, nurse, and surgeon. I could not believe when they sent me home with a quart of delicious chicken noodle soup.

Love this hospital, but want to give an extra shout out for all the valets. Especially at Easy Street Therapy. Jack , Donna, Debbie and Terry. They are always there on the spot assisting my husband getting in and out of car. He has progressed from wheelchair and walker but they would unload and load these items for me when he needed them. Great group of people.

Got off work At 9pm and was suffering from horrible back pain and when I was asked how horrible it was and I was in so much pain I said 10 with tears in my eyes. When the doctor came in she implied I was too young to be having as bad of back pain as I was describing but I seriously could barely move without tears in my eyes. All they did was poke the part of my back I said hurt with one finger twice lightly and said all they can give me is Tylenol and that my primary care doctor can do more for me than they can. I even told the doctor I was on a muscle relaxer and anti inflammatory prior for this same issue and that did little work and so I said I didn’t think the Tylenol was going to work which it didn’t. I told them all I wanted was an x-ray to make sure everything was ok and that I didn’t want any medication because they were acting like that was the only reason I was there for. I literally left bawling my eyes out because I was still in the same amount of pain leaving as I arrived and they did the least amount of effort they could to help me and treated me like I was a waste of their time. Update: went to the chiropractor the following day for the first time trying to find answers for what was wrong with me and they did an x-ray and it turns out my entire pelvis is tilted and I have mild scoliosis which I never knew about and had they of done an x-ray like I requested they would have seen that. I would never come here again even in a emergency situation.

This is the first time I’ve ever left a review but I felt I had to. I arrived at WRH around 10:00 pm. I had all of the covid symptoms- shortness of breath, fatigue, cough, migraine, body chills & aches. When explaining to the doctor why I was there, he said “I haven’t really seen to many covid cases so I’m not going to test you for it”. How inconsiderate and all around terrible to assume that just because there hasn’t been a rise in cases doesn’t mean the girl sitting in front of you doesn’t have it. Not to mention there were legit blood stains on the floor of the room they put me in. Then, as me and my significant other were leaving, we heard the nurses talking badly about me. I left, saw my personal care provider the very next day as the symptoms had not let up, and low and behold I tested positive for covid. I understand that the ER is for emergencies, so we attempted to find an urgent care prior to WRH. Nothing was open, and I was desperate. Regardless of the patient in front of you, whether bleeding out or a migraine, you need to do everything you can for that patient. I felt disrespected here & will not come back.

They did a great job for my wife’s surgery. The building is beautiful but lacking in practical services. Like the surgery waiting room only having one bathroom and the cafeteria being small. They have a small coffee shoppe but no idea when it opens. But hey, the people were nice and that’s what matters.

Can't say enough about the care I received from the staff here. The nurses and staff are top notch and go above and beyond to ensure your every need is met. I can't believe how excellent this hospital is. Please don't change a thing.

I recently had a sleep study done by their sleep medicine department. I was expecting a hospital room and bed and a sterile experience. Instead it was more like a modern hotel room with a Tempurpedic sleep number adjustable bed. The staff were caring and fantastic. I was dreading the sleep study but instead it was a positive experience. Really well done with the comfort of the patient in mind. Again, I cannot say enough good things about the staff technicians that ran the study. They were exceptional.

These lovely folks took such great care of me 🖤 the only downfall was waiting in the waiting room but that’s to be expected at any ER! The nurses and my doctor were an absolute delight and I honestly have to say this is one of the best hospitals I have ever been to! Thank you all for your hard work, kindness and hospitality 🖤

I would recommend any other hospital in the area over this one. Had an emergency room visit where they failed to administer what I needed which required me to return a second time in the same day. Of course I was charged for both visits. Poor care and customer service in their billing department.

Had surgery here earlier this month. This was my 10th surgery in my life time so I've been to a lot of facilities but this was by far the best place I've ever been to. It was clean and comfortable. The care provided was above and beyond the entire time. The nurses were SO understanding when I was really struggling post op (nausea and pain) they were very patient and never made me feel rushed to leave. They wanted me to feel decent before sending me on my way. They even sent us with a chicken noodle soup for me to eat that evening. I would recommend this place to anyone!!

The staff/nurses and doctors at Western Reserve Hospital take great care of me! I am a patient in their Infusion Center and I am seen up to 3x/week for four hours. The quality of care is phenomenal. When I say there's a huge difference between physician owned vs major hospital health systems - - Western Reserve does it right. They treat their patients wonderfully and make sure we're comfortable. All the staff, nurses and doctors are wonderful. They make sure you're comfortable and your needs are met. Highly worth the hour of travel. The food is also amazing!!

Though I have only been going to PT at the Nat. for 4 weeks, I would just like to add a few notes to the review site. I have primarily have been working with Michael but this review will give you an idea of all I have worked with. 1. The surroundings are pleasant and suited for the tasks. Very clean and organized. 2. Michael explains my exercises very well so that I can replicate them at home. As exercises are added Mike provides me with detailed instructions for each one that keep me on track for my home therapy. He sticks to the plan. Everyone I have met there are very cordial and helpful. 3. The intake receptionist needs a new computer that accommodate her needs. Scheduling works well. Overall, I give the Nat.an A+. I have replaced both of my knees and hips plus back surgery and now my shoulder. I feel qualified to offer my review. Thanks to all!

Can’t say enough nice things about this hospital. At approximately 5:40 this evening we went there and were greeted by a very friendly professional knowledgeable lady at her welcome desk that gave us great directions to my brother-in-law‘s room. In route to the room other staff asked if we needed help in finding the room and we’re very friendly and professional. What a warm and welcoming environment the staff creates. Thank you Western Reserve!!!

Only had three good nurses the days I was there , which I had probably 10 ! Your not aloud outs ide they didn't have a courtyard a lot of the desk workers are rude! Your aloud to walk the halls but get questioned by every nurse or employee there . Super slow at everything waited and hour and a half for a small cup of coffee ! The doctors did a great surgery but overall stay terrible don't recommend coming here.

I'm speaking from experience as a new hire. The hospital itself has a very warming and caring atmosphere. Every staff member is friendly and knows one another even if they work halfway across the hospital. Staff is very willing to help make sure you get the help that you need. Everyone follows a fast paced schedule to move stuff along at a great pace, and has a caring attitude about them. The hospital is very clean too! I'm excited to start here! Also from a friend who visited, she says it is a wonderful place too!

Avoid this institution at all costs. It has been an absolute nightmare trying to get them to release the necessary records in order to get another opinion at the Cleveland Clinic. Their negligence has resulted in a significant delay in care for a family member with a recent cancer diagnosis. When I brought this to their attention, rather than apologize, they told me in the future I need to be sure to allot 5 whole business days for them to simply fax a form to UH. After I reiterated the urgency of the matter and explained that I was following recommendations from the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center, the woman on the phone laughed. I have nothing positive to say about my experience with this institution.

Excellent surgery experience. I was very nervous to be there, but every employee I interacted with was friendly, kind and welcoming. They ensured I was informed of every process that would take place and kept me comfortable! IV placement and blood draw were excellent as well! They have a great system in place to keep family members up to date on the surgery process. They sent me home with chicken noodle soup which was such a nice touch! Thank you!

I was so extremely happy with the care I received at my surgery yesterday. From the smiling face greeting me in the lobby, to Michelle in recovery who took such great care of me. Everyone was pleasant, professional and caring. Best IV placement EVER! I wish I could remember her name Michelle in Recovery wished I could too. She said that the tape placement was excellent. I will recommend Western Reserve Hospital to others after the pleasant experience that I had. p.s. The chicken noodle soup was delicious 😋

Simply put, Summa Hospital, regardless of their ratings, has nothing over on Western Reserve Hospital. And I’m sure Western Reserve Hospital is unique in giving a quart of soup to take home for Outpatient Surgery patients. I have found it most appreciated and helpful.

As a former physician on staff, I had to undergo an unexpected surgical procedure and chose Western Reserve Hospital. I received high quality, compassionate and efficient care from Dr. Anton, his team and the nurses. It is good to see that nothing has changed and the focus still remains on patient care, just like when I used to work there. Thank you for taking such great care of me.

This was my 3rd outpatient surgery in 5 years and the experiences I had were way better than the previous surgeries I had 35 years ago in another hospital. The friendly, caring staff did everything possible to create relaxing atmosphere which in turn helps with pain and fear. Having the follow-up phone call the next day is wonderful.

This 5 Star rating is strictly for Dr.Bare. He was in the emergency room when I took my adult daughter in. He was so patient and caring! He took the time to listen and console my child. I hate to say it but that's rare these days. He's awesome and I hope if we have another emergency, he'll be the one to treat us! Hold on to him Western Reserve!!!!!!

Almost killed my wife. She came in comparing of pain from her lower belly area, classic appendicitis symptoms. They kept asking what drugs she took and treated her like a junky. Sent her home while her appendix was ruptured. The doctor still works here. Do not go to this hospital.

I love all of the care that I receive at Western Reserve Hospital. One of the best things is the coordination of care between the different specialities. They really communicate with each other to help determine next best steps for their patients. The service is always fast, personal and highly-competent. I feel as if they know me and my health status personally because of how small and connected the hospital services and departments are. Getting a fast appointment is usually very easy. And I cannot even begin to talk about the excellent, immediate care that is provided in the Emergency Department. Parking is excellent, close-in, and even free valet service if you need the assistance. Western Reserve Hospital is my home hospital and I wish the system success in providing excellent patient care to the Greater Cuyahoga Falls community.

The first time I came in for X-ray at 8:45am, I waited for a 1/2 hour and was told they were backed up. I left because I had to get to work. I came back at 3:30 the same day and when I went to check in I was told to wait because the woman that had been In front of me had to fill out some paperwork so she couldn’t check me in.

I would give them 10 stars if I could. I had surgery at this hospital today and my experience was so good that I couldn’t wait to leave a review. The staff was all so nice, warming and compassionate. I’ve never had a better experience at a hospital. It was also my birthday and the staff even sang to me. And after my surgery they sent me home with a big container of delicious chicken noodle soup from the cafe. Seriously top level care!

As someone who’s worked here before and who has gone through a lot of health issues I’m here all the time and each time is worse than the last. They DO NOT care about you ESPECIALLY in the ER I’ve had a nurse laugh in my face because I was in such intense pain I begged for pain medicine or absolutely anything and she laughed and said “it doesn’t work like that” they’ve been so aggressive with gettin an IV in and have blown multiple of my veins which has NEVER happened anywhere else. If you take anything from this DO. NOT. GO. HERE. Along with the fact that you WILL get bed bugs, after one visit here I came home and two days later we called an exterminator to get rid of the bed bugs we carried home from that hospital. Seriously you’d be better off suffering on your own.

I love this ER due to the short wait and very nice and patient staff. I would recommend giving more privacy when asking what brought patient to er. I gave 4 instead of 5 stars because the glass window was open and the door was wide open where nurses were walking in and out and anyone with a good set of ears can hear what is being said because there is no privacy.

Was very pleased with first time experience at Western Reserve Hospital. Vallet parking, welcoming staff, and helpful. Was kept up to date the whole time during daughters surgery, even when surgerytook longer than expected. Cafeteria staff was friendly, food fresh and tasty, we had the salad bar. Restrooms were clean. Nurse in recovery room was patient and helpful. Daughter was sent home with amazingly good chicken noodle soup. Received follow up call next day. I dont have one bad experience to say. We were definitely pleased with building, staff and the hole experience.

I used to like this place. It was fast never a wait in the waiting room. Now Ive been here since 130. (It's 6pm now) and I still haven't even been called back into a room. 🤬 Everyone that came in AFTER ME has been seen. I've seen so many negative reviews on the same reason I'm here, back & neck pain. I will definitely flip if they don't do anything. Or run more tests. 🤷🏼‍♀️ At this point I'd rather die than go to the hospital anymore.

just literally go anywhere else. theres a 24 hour vet in akron, they would probably be better. i spent 7 hours there and had two tests done. it took at LEAST an hour in between ANY human contact. they came in and asked about pain levels, told them it was past a ten and they still proceeded to take atleast an hour to tell us if we could even HAVE meds and another hour to give us them. at the end of our SEVEN hours there, we were sent home with AND I QUOTE “shrug our shoulders and say the tests said nothing was wrong and send you home” meanwhile, shaking and in so much pain that standing up straight is not possible and walking two steps feels like the hardest feat of your entire life. im begging you, go somewhere else

The night nurse was nice and seemed to take care of me well, however the morning shift was a nightmare!.I was NEVER given the breathing apparatus to clear my lungs. Way out of my reach, the leg massage to prevent blood clots were put on my legs, never hooked up and started.I asked for water, was told, busy. Upon discharge, the one nurse couldnt do a simple blood pressure,or remove the IV. Horribletold "I'm busy".

My apologies someone took my necklace off and put it in my change purse. Today is the first time in a month and 1 week that I dumped all my change out of my change purse and out came my necklace. I went into the hospital unconscious because I had a seizure. While I was unconscious someone stole my blue sapphire necklace, I've called there and talked to security and also to the emergency room and no one knows where my necklace is. I would not recommend this hospital. I've called the number and left my name and phone number hopefully someone calls me back. My boyfriend bought me that with matching ring and earrings for Christmas I only had it a little over 6 months. Got a call back the lady I talked to said she was one of the people who took care of me. She said I didn't have a necklace on. The only time I take it off is when I get my hair cut and once that's done I have it put right back on. My boyfriend checked his car it's not in there. Either when they were getting me out of the car it came off and fell to the ground or someone took it off. Not sure what happened all I know is that it's gone I hope who ever has it, is enjoying it as much as I did. I miss my necklace.

On June 14th 2023 I was a patient in your ER Department roughly @ 1045 am until 1600 in ER Room 10. The nurse who my care was entrusted to should not be a nurse handling patients. ER Doctor had 18 patients which included Border Patients. His work load was heavy to say the least, which I fully understand, so his one on one time with patients was very limited. The problem that causes concern was the nurse came to discharge me gave me very limited discharge instructions. She stated that it is the Doctors job. Wow this mishandling of a patients discharge instructions is dangerous and unprofessional. I still don't have a clear understanding of what is wrong with me and how it happened. I strongly feel like the Nurse is setting the Doctor up for failure, seeing that he is a new ER Doctor with your hospital. I don't know if it is racial or she doesn't like the doctor. Either way it is unprofessional and posses a patient safety issue with me. Someone from you Administration needs to contact me to inform me what my outcome is/was. Your registration area is not in compliance with Federal Laws of Privacy. Patients personal and private information is being discussed in a open area with everyone in the ER Lobby is able to hear. Please contact me, you should be able to retrieve my contact information from the time and date of my ER visit. O'Dell Dickerson Update: 06/15/2023 I would like to thank the COO and Amy for a fast and efficient follow up on this situation. Carrie you provided a full understanding of my Healthcare needs, thank you for the follow up on my discharge. Faith in Western Reserve Hospital has been restored for my Healthcare needs. Thank you, O'Dell Dickerson

My wife recently underwent double mastectomy surgery for breast cancer and words hardly express the amazing care and attention received throughout her stay at Western Reserve Hospital. As an employee of the hospital, I’m of course a little bias going in and I’ve always had the pleasure of knowing already that we have a great team here. To experience it first-hand though hits different. To watch this team at work is unlike anything you will ever find at any other hospital. They truly turned an anxious time into a comfortable experience. Everyone, ALL who I am honored to work with, were absolute rock stars in their duties. The entire staff was welcoming, friendly, & caring. Even those not working with me would greet me. My prep nurse Jody was great. My surgical nurse & the nurse anesthetist stopped to introduce themselves before the procedure. The doctor in charge of anesthesia stopped by as well; it was his last official day of work, but he still took time to chat with each patient in the OR prep area. (It is an open area divided by curtains, like most OR preps.) They gave me socks to wear during my surgical procedure and warm blankets, which I very much appreciate because I dislike being cold. Everything went very smoothly. They even gave me a quart of soup when I left! I would highly recommend this facility.

Had surgery there 9/11/23 the preop nurse was absolutely amazing very caring and really knows how to care for patients and make them feel comfortable the surgeon was also amazing the anesthesia people were also nice but I think they gave me way to much meds I don't even remember going out of the preoperative room and being wheeled into surgery. Then Unfortunately the nightmare started the post operative nurse was less than caring all she wanted to do was to get me out of there. If my husband wasn't there I honestly do not know what I would of done. I literally could not stay awake my husband had to remove the bed pan and she literally did nothing for me no crackers and my husband had to ask for water for me and even get me dressed.

I had a toe surgery with Dr Khandekar. The surgery went well and he and his staff were great. My experience at the hospital was phenomenal. Being cared for by an attentive and empathetic staff left me feeling well despite the discomfort of the surgery. Thank you all.

Outpatient surgery. Wonderful experience. The care team was very friendly and kind. I felt my wellbeing was priority and everyone’s kindness helped to alleviate my anxiety. The whole team was exceptional from the kind valet host, nurse at check in, nurses, anesthesiologist, and of course my Dr. I greatly appreciate everyone’s kindness and the positive environment they created.

From the time that my wife checked in for her outpatient surgery everything was fantastic. The receptionist was very friendly and very knowledgeable, the nurses were cheerful, friendly, helpful, and attentive. Her Doctor explained everything and answered all questions before her surgery and then came out to the waiting room and again explained how the surgery went. Once my wife was moved to the PACU I was taken to my wife and again my wife was being attended to. This was definitely a very class act....totally 5 stars.

We have brought our now 9 year old daughter here 4 times for surgery and every experience is better than the last. Every member of the staff, from the welcome desk to the cafeteria, nursing and anesthesia and doctors are wonderful. I feel relaxed and confident every time she goes back. As a mother, you can't ask for anything more!

Since it's Thanksgiving, I just have to say how thankful I am for every staff member involved in my care leading to yesterday's surgery. I have nothing but praise. Everyone was competent, kind, and caring, and in today's world those aren't easy traits to find. Everything happens for a reason. Thank you all so much! **EDIT to add: 🥣Chicken soup when you leave? How cool is that?! ❤️ And just a reminder to others to support your local teaching hospitals! To become the best you have to learn from the best.

I absolutely love this hospital. On 2-13 I had surgery. The staff from the front door until I was discharged was absolutely phenomenal! They took fantastic care of myself and my mom. On 2/20 I had to go into the er for a common complication the er staff was all welcoming, they listened and took care of me. They were quick with their care. I then had to go back to surgery. And again the staff was absolutely fantastic. I wish I lived closer to the hospital because I would absolutely go there anytime I needed medical attention.
