Everything was delicious!! The food was amazing, service was amazing! Everyone was friendly and attentive. We started with guacamole and chips. Probably ate way more chips than I should have. I had tonight's special fried red snapper with guacamole salad and black beans. Amazing. We also had the seafood stew (Mariscada). Wow, I will be back for more stew. Spanish-style seafood stew with scallops, shrimp, fresh salmon, squid, and clams cooked with saffron. Served with white rice on the side. For dessert, we had sopapillas. Very light and fluffy. Not sweet at all.

Excellent Mexican restaurant. We go here often and particularly like the Saturday/Sunday brunch menu (11am-3pm). The food rates about 4.5 on a scale of 5 for the price. It can get very crowded but we've never had to wait long, if at all, for a table for 2. Although when it does get busy, prepare for your food to take a little longer than usual. But it's worth the wait! The service is very good and the staff is always hustling and smiling.

Great customer server and food. Started with tortilla chips and salsa. The salsa was delicious and seemed fresh made rather than out of the can. I had chicken steak fajita, the steak tasted homemade and loved the seasoning. The tortillas were soft and fresh made in the restaurant. The rice beans were perfectly made and seasoned. Would definitely be visiting again

Excellent service and food. I think Tex-Mex really only gets so good, but this is probably the best place I have been to. The free chips and salsa were amazing. The give you two salsas, one cold and chunky (best salsa ever) and one warm and more watery, which I didn’t care for. We had the bacon wrapped shrimp and grilled steak burrito. Both were very good. The main dining room is like a great hall with really high ceilings. They break out conga drums for happy birthday songs. Fun place to eat with good food and service.

Our waiter, Eduardo, was awesome! Great service. Good food…I had the chicken fajita with a passionfruit margarita. The beans and tortillas were homemade (nothing out of a can). For the price of the food $$$$, I felt rushed to finish eating. I was still eating when I was asked if I need a to-go box. Overall, it was a good experience. You should give it a try.

This place is buzzing and great ambience as always. Food top notch, has one of the best Mexican cuisine. Guapo is a brand. Also they truely have amazing Margaritas. Love their servers, extremely enthusiastic and always recommend you platter as per your taste and preferences. And yes, you cannot miss their freshly made guacamole.

Guapo's has a beautiful restaurant vibe with an extensive menu with almost every item seeming enticing. Experience an authentic Mexican style in a fun and open atmosphere. The food is exceptional and filled with flavor. The fajitas, enchiladas, and soup were a treat.

It's fun place at night with a live Mariachi band during nice evening weather. Lunch hours during the weekend can be quite busy and dinner is high traffic so reserve in advance. The food is definitely good and authentic and the staff are friendly. The portions are also quite big.

So let me say that Oscar was amazing! This place is such an amazing little stop! Very beautiful, warm, well maintained, open, and just a dazzling little place to escape for awhile. My little puppy and I were well treated and there were so many happy people here. Go and enjoy yourself at this little slice of paradise! You will not regret going! I highly recommend this location!

Top notch service! Friendly and attentive staff. New to NoVa- moving from CA, we had high expectations on good Mexican meal. Food menu can be a bit better, and would prefer a more compelling veggie option too. All in all, still a great experience and look forward to visit soon.

The menu boasted an impressive array of Mexican delicacies, and I was delighted to discover that the food lived up to the high expectations. Each dish I tried was bursting with authentic flavors, from the tangy salsa to the perfectly seasoned Chicken Fajitas and Gaucamole. The service was top-notch, with the staff being knowledgeable, attentive, and passionate about the cuisine they served. The restaurant's ambiance was a delightful blend of traditional and modern, creating a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience. Overall, it exceeded my expectations with its delicious Mexican fare, excellent service, and inviting atmosphere, making it a must-visit for any Mexican food lover.

Loveeee this place Foods are amazing Drinks are great Fun hangout spot Let’s start off with unlimited free chips and salsa … yummy! I ordered Ceviche and it was amazing! I love it. So creamy and sour. Pollo Saltado was to die for! The smell of the grilled chicken is amazing. I really like this dish. I got house margarita and passionfruit margarita. I really recommend passionfruit margaritas if you love a sour drink. Waitresses are lovely but the food server guy is kinda like throwing foods on the table for us.

If you're looking for a quiet dinner... You may want to know that this place has a lot of birthday celebrations. Staff would go to the table with instruments and singing for those who were having birthday celebrations. It was a bit loud (personally for me) but normal probably for others but it was a bit annoying after the 3rd time , but we definitely weren't expecting it since it was our first time there. So if you have a birthday go for it, the celebration looks fun and you get a large sambro. Food wise, food was delicious, I would say I have had better from other smaller restaurants. The guacamole was 13.00 for the size in the photo. Freshly made and delicious. The plates sizes are filling and my food was hot and well made. Drinks were delicious, no complaints on those other than the pricing. Overall it was a $90 (, include tips) late brunch for two. Overall this location is great for celebrations for a fun experience.

I have literally been driving past this place my entire life I had no idea how good this place was. There’s something to be said when each ingredient is cooked to perfection with consistency throughout the dish. Not only that but seasonings taste fresh. Nothing is over seasoned nothing is under seasoned. That’s been one of my biggest issues with going to places that claim they are authentic. I find that there are close to Ngo seasonings and they might do one part of the dish right but the other part of the dish is not right. And in my personal experience, that’s been the challenge with Mexican food for me is having inconsistency throughout the entire dish because there are so many components and parts that create the dish somehow Guapos manages the expectations at a high-level. The atmosphere itself just transports you out of Fairfax. I recently came back from New Mexico and the top restaurant that was in New Mexico where I was staying, looked very similar to this. It’s the music it’s the decor it’s the cleanliness. That I mention customer service the customer service is phenomenal. There are servers, but also people who are helping in between the service to fill the gaps for anything anybody needs it it’s not too often you find restaurants that can have that much manning power to provide that type of service but I guess clearly Guapos can since they’ve been around for a long time. So I don’t have much to say about the food because I’ve only had Birria tacos for lunch and everything about this lunch was impeccable to the cheese with the beef Birria, and the dipping sauce that came with it . The two salsas that came with it had very nice flavor, and the red sauce was actually spicy and complex in flavor. My friend ended up getting the strawberry lemonade and I didn’t think too much of it until she asked me to try it and even that was perfect. I expected some type of overly sugary drink, but that’s all I could really taste was the strawberry and the light lemonade flavors , that was just perfectly balanced. I think one thing I will point out is the rice and refried beans that came with my dish were perfect. Let me explain. I do not like refried beans they come clumpy the consistency is always off and quite frankly the flavor is pretty bland, but the consistency determines the texture, right. so today was the first time I had refried beans that were smooth, and somehow tasted like they were made there at the restaurant which I truly doubt, but they were amazing and the rice that came with it each grain was individually cooked. Well, you could taste the seasoning in between the rice you could taste the individual corn and the green bean that was a part of the rice. I really hate Spanish rice when it’s overcooked and become clumpy and mushy. Coming from an Asian background we take very seriously so I just rarely come across this in the Mexican cuisine world. So it was just so nice to have something as simple as rice to be cooked perfectly. Yeah, I know I’m late . I’ve just had so many bad experiences with Mexican restaurants in this area I had given up hope for 20 years. But this is one of the most consistent and best places in the area if you’re looking for TexMex..

The food was absolutely delicious, had the steak salad added shrimp and chicken, appetizer was the Camarones Tijuana, and drink the Miami Vice. The service was superb 👏🏼 thank you for such a fabulous dining experience.

I enjoyed lunch today at Guapo’s Fair Lakes. It was Saturday at 2 o’clock in the afternoon and we still needed to wait 20 minutes for a table. But it was well worth it and we had no problem waiting. They have two beautiful, outdoor seating areas a nice waiting area next to the bar. They had many tables in the main seating area with a fountain in the center. We experienced several celebrations going on, especially birthdays where there was a bongo drummer, while celebrations and citations were sung. Once we were seated at an outside area, we were served quickly with hot thin chips. Add a wonderful chunky salsa. We ordered the passion fruit margaritas which were served with a very sweet chunk of pineapple. We play star orders for mostly salads. Salads that were huge, with tons of flavored meat and fresh avocado. The dressing was served on the side. The no wait staff and management were friendly quick and knowledgeable. We were served by Fran. The outside area was very clean. In fact, while we were there, we saw many staff members cleaning and organizing. I also truly loved the beautiful flowers that were hanging around the entire outside areas. Although there was quite the crowd there when we arrive, there was an abundance of parking. The building is set as its own property and easy walking distance from the large Fair Lakes shopping area. Next time I’m in the Fairfax area I will definitely enjoy going back.

The service was amazing. The food is a must try too. Although the only thing I do recommend is that If you aren't into tight places I suggest getting a table rather than a booth. We sat at a booth and the seats were a bit too close to the table but other than that I loved it.

Went for dinner with my friend. It was a delicious and eventful dinner. Staffs were friendly and attentive. We went to celebrate my achievement, fun experience because they made me wearing the sombrero and sang for me. We had taquitos, passionfruit mojito, and a quails entree. Chips and queso too. We left the place full and happy!!!

I ate at the bar on a Tuesday night to mark a Taco Tuesday at a place with which I am familiar from prior enjoyable lunches. The bar area has a lively tone with the decor and noise level (some coming from music that could have been a touch lower for my preference). Service was quite prompt and quick to greet me and offer a drink of my choosing. The staff I saw had a pleasing energy level and seemed to be engaged and hustled throughout the evening. I ordered one of the appetizer ceviches from the special ceviche menu followed by an order of chicken oaxquennos tacos and a pork morsels entree sans rice ending with an order of fried ice cream (a bit of nostalgia from my student days). Proteins seem to be a strength if sauces may not be. The salsa accompanying the chips seemed quite thin to me. My appetizer was ready in less than five minutes. I am used to ceviche presented in a small glass cup, so this presentation was unique. The ingredients tasted fresh, especially the firm feeling seafood and the avocado. I liked the subtle sweetness of the sweet potato mousse and could have eaten more. The roasted corn kernels were a peculiar part of this dish to me, and the sauce seemed watery and too aggressively seasoned to go with delicate seafood. The staff attentively checked on my tacos twice which came out 20 minutes after I finished my appetizer. The tacos were portioned wonderfully and had good balanced flavor in each one with well cooked chicken and vegetables. Why I got rice and sour cream when I requested having neither when I ordered was puzzling. The next dish seemed to take another 20 minutes to arrive. The pork cubes have a slow cooked look and taste as advertised but why they are smothered in so much onions I do not know. The plate had some unappealing wateriness (not juiciness) at the bottom which could have resulted from trapping the hot pork under all the onions or something else I suppose. The vegetable garnish needs seasoning. The black beans and plantains tasted fine. Finally I received what I think was an order of cajeta instead of its cousin dessert fried ice cream. Being close enough to what I ordered I ate without complaint. The portions are reasonable and thankfully lack any greasy fried texture. The ice cream remains predictably cold and does not get drowned by too much caramel. The total cost for this meal amounted to about $70 including tax and excluding tip. All in all I think the value seems aligned with prices in the area for similar food. I likely would return with a bias towards lunch instead of dinner when the noise level is lower and the pace quieter than what I experienced on this evening visit.
