A traditional pub that serves traditional food done at its best. The food was simple, honest and cooked like your mother does. Nothing too fancy on the menu and if you're into great British pub food this is the place for you. Can eat inside or outside - seating at the back of the pub or the front - we booked online which was easily enough to do. Overall we had a lovely meal, wine and received a service with a smile of which was great and oh so friendly. Would highly recommend this old tradition independent pub to anyone visiting the area.

Ed and Laura have recently taken over the Lower Buck Waddington and are doing a fabulous job. Till possibly the end of October ish they are serving drinks, but once they have sorted the kitchen and staffing they will be serving food. We called last night for drinks, what a lovely comfortable pub, fireplaces in all down stairs rooms so winter will be so warm and welcoming. The staff are great, nothing too much trouble. Apparently it was built in the 1760, so you can imagine how much character the place has. A definite must place to go.

Stayed for a few nights in the piggeries room! Small room but decor & furniture layout made it spacious and luxurious. Lots of places to hang coats and store clothing Amazing en-suite with high quality facilities Very tasty breakfast! Also had pie and peas on an evening - the best pie I have had 👌 Staff were warm, welcoming & attentive We really enjoyed our stay and will be staying again!

I stayed here before I was due to get married at Browsholme Hall. The owner was so friendly and made me feel at ease with everything going on. Huge thanks for adding to the build up to the big day, a top gent. The cottage was cosy and was like a home from home which was also dog friendly, we'll definitely return!

Stayed with my wife and dog in early November and had a brilliant stay. Ed, the new owner, really looked after us and you can tell he's investing a lot into the pub and accommodation. Would recommend and we'll be sure to stay again!

The new proprietor could not do enough to accommodate us after the previous proprietor double booked our rooms. Definitely recommend the Piggery room. Wish we could have stayed longer. Xx

Fantastic We have just celebrated a 60th birthday with the family at the Lower Buck, Ollie and Jonathan could not have made our stay and celebration anymore special, Ollie made a wonderful evening meal for the 10 of us, he also arranged a private room for us to dine and celebrate in. Breakfast was also brilliant, thanks again to Ollie. Jonathan is a great barman and full of banter which we fully enjoyed, more importantly he kept the wine and beer flowing. We have stayed at the Lower Buck before and have enjoyed each occasion. We also feel that we have made a couple of really good friends in Ollie and Jonathan

Of the three pubs in Waddington, this is the best. You get a warm welcome, cosy country pub feel. And nice food. We will definitely visit again.

Stayed overnight for a wedding in Clitheroe. Stunning and clean room, with a very comfortable bed. The host was lovely and very helpful! Allowed us to book in hours earlier so that we had some time to get ready before leaving for the wedding venue. Had a nice continental breakfast in the morning. Highly recommend staying here especially for the affordable price! 5 stars.

This is a gem of a place. Excellent service from the owner Oliver and the guy that served us , Andy.We dropped on it by chance having travelled from wigan to take our mum out for the day to celebrate her 88th birthday, and were looking for somewhere to have tea. They accommodated us even though we hadn't booked. Food was delicious and plentiful. Proper homely place with wonderful home cooked food.

Went with my wife to the steak night. Like everything else it has gone up in price from £35 to £40 for 2 steaks and a bottle of red wine, so still good value. They had Ribeye and Sirloin on offer. We both had Ribeye, not a huge steak; but absolutely delicious. They were accompanied with chunky chips, mushrooms, tomato, garlic butter sauce and the biggest onion rings I've every seen. The batter was nice and crispy and you could actually see and taste the onion inside.... Delicious. Highly recommended. Oh! The wine was good too.

We stayed overnight for a few days and really enjoyed our time there. Ollie went above and beyond to ensure we were booked in and settled once we arrived. We spent the afternoon and evening drinking and enjoying the fantastic food. Highly recommend eating there. The staff was super kind and friendly. Our cat loved it too and was welcomed by all. We would definitely go back.
