Found this place for a Friday afternoon get together with family and it's not so far away. A real locals pub also with accommodation. We reserved a table just because we didn't know how busy it was going to be and we just got in before the rush. When entering we were warmly welcomed and the smell of the wood burning πŸ”₯ fire greeted us. Good selection of beers and wine 🍷 and the menu is full of a selection of homecooked food 🍲 that was delicious πŸ˜‹. Nice bar area with rooms at the side set out for eating, seating area at the front and large 🍻 garden at the back πŸ”™. Very good experience and will definitely be back soon.

Great traditional warming pub, and the b&b room I had was done to a great spec, massive beds, and the breakfast was really good to. Landlord and his wife was great to ✌️

Brilliant little pub with a buzzing atmosphere around tea time especially with builders so if you're looking for a tradesman, this is the place to go. Never eaten there but the food looks good and they have lots of sport on. Beer garden and the pub is dog friendly so what's not to like, although I'd like more dark beers landlord please.

The owners are so welcoming and helpful. The rooms are large and spacious with tea and coffee making facilities and amenities. The food is also amazing. I recommend the fish and chips, so good! Best of all is the location in the beautiful Ribble Valley and you are a stones throw from the Northcote Hotel for some of the best food you can get in the UK. I highly recommend the Lord Nelson Pub for a weekend stay!

had a fantastic lunch today with my mum and sis. Atmosphere amazingly welcoming and homely. Love the two pooches who greeted us warmly but got a ticking off by owner Darren, until we had a quiet word with his wife Angie and she allowed the pooches to join us. Food was outstanding even pandering to fussy needs(me) Brilliant, friendly afternoon will definitely be back πŸ˜‹ πŸ˜€

Stayed in the back room overlooking the beer garden and the gorgeous countryside. Fantastic view. Room had everything I needed. Very clean and comfortable. Bed was extremely comfortable. THE BREAKFAST WAS INCREDIBLE. The nicest breakfast I’ve ever had cooked for me by anyone. Darren the Landlord is brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble for him. The pub itself is cosy and also has Sky Sports

Excellent beer garden at rear. Child- and dog-friendly. Lower score as only a couple of real ales to choose from.

nice enough cosy place. landlord seemed welcoming of local regulars but cold and indifferent to me passing through and stopping for a drink. didn't feel welcome, won't be going back, just how he likes it i guess.

My partner and I had lunch today, I had Halloumi Burger with chips and coleslaw and my partner had sausage and mash. Absolutely amazing, the chips were wedges double or triple cooked and my partners sausages were extremely tasty and moist with wonderful onion gravy. Lovely friendly and welcoming hosts with 2 lovely dogs. We will definitely be back. We very much recommend

Great little pub, only loses a star for a poor selection. Would be great to have an IPA on tap or some craft beer in cans/bottles if cellar space is an issue. Obviously it's not a deal breaker as it's a lovely place for a drink, just nice to have a choice when craft beer is so popular these days! Either way I am looking forward to visiting more regularly!

Great lunch today sat outside the Lord Nelson in the March sunshine. Food was freshly prepared accompanied by a refreshing drink which was most welcome during our circular walk.

Darren and Angie are great hosts and we really enjoyed our stay and our meals. Pub has a large beer garden at the rear with fabulous views. Large bedroom with all the required facilities, very convenient for Ribble Valley walks and only a short taxi ride from the Northcote Hotel and restaurant. We definitely hope to visit again and enjoy more of the beautiful surrounding countryside.

Loved it. Out of a snowy landscape into a wood-fired warm and welcoming bar. Country cottage feel .. Windows front and back giving great views over this hilly part of Lancashire. Landlord Darren has great sense of humour and good drinks selection and landlady Angela serves up delish food.

Stayed here for one night, the bed is the most comfortable one I have ever slept in. The host and food were lovely and would have happily stayed for longer if we could! If you are lucky you may meet Nelson himself :)

Very lovely, a real local pub and a pub for locals and visitors. Welcoming and friendly and all because of the landlord, Darren, and his partner who completely make the pub. Unpretentious, comfortable bed & breakfast, well kept ales on tap, friendly staff and even friendlier locals. Recommended.

A wonderful pint (and a half) of Hen Harrier was downed after a local walk. A friendly landlord greeted us and we'll be certain for return visits.
