Came for our 31st wedding anniversary. Barley mow treats their guests like royalty. Food was superb. Somewhat limited parking, but no problems. As a bonus they have vintage port which I adore. Had a brilliant relaxing overnight stay.

Being local I can't attest to the accomodation, but the food was absolutely top draw. Creative menu, excellent ingredients, cooked to perfection. We had mains, a side, and desserts. They were all five star in terms of quality, cooking, ingredients, and taste. We eat out quite often at different places, and this was perhaps some of the nicest meals we've had in recent memory. Genuinely first class. Inside and outside looks very classy and tidy, and all the staff were excellent. I hope the management look after them well, especially the chefs/cooks as they served up top quality meals. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Great, dog friendly but very clean place!! Tables in/out doors. Good food with option for vegetarian. Rooms available for stay overnight if needed. Little playground for kids about 100 yard away. Definitely will go back πŸ˜ƒ

We had a very nice experience at the barley mow. The atmosphere they have created is truly fantastic. The food is very good, the cozy atmosphere feels familiar and Louis made the experience complete. He knows what hospitality means and gives guests an unforgettable experience.

Lovely spot in a lovely little village. The Barley Mow was the perfect stay for us and our dog. Serving a good selection of drinks and fantastic food (both evening meal and breakfast following morning) this really is a little gem of a place. Plenty of outdoor seating too to soak up the sun before a venture up Pendle Inn. The room was very stylish with lovely stone wall and wooden beams. Staff were very attentive and friendly also. The only one small downside was no form of cooling device for the room so we had brought our own fan with us to use. Other than that couldn't fault the place

Lovely location, good food, good beer and great and prompt service. Will definitely return. Will have to see the inside next time. Really good advert for having a community pub in the village.

Cosy pub serving good pub food in a swift efficient way. We called by for a drink and had a few snacks while we were there. The decor was very trendy and sympathetic to the local area. Would recommend.

Great location and a lovely pub inside. We have previously been and enjoyed the experience when we came last so was looking forward to our meal. The food is quite pricey for a pub so we were expecting something special however the service was really lacking. We were never asked once how our food was, if we wanted any other drinks, desserts etc and we felt a real lack of attention and an uninterested attitude from the staff. Shame really, won’t be back in a hurry. UPDATE: It’s been over 6 months and zero response from the pub which basically sums up my above points πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Appalling service. We stood at the bar for nearly 20 minutes, totally ignored by the staff. We ended up walking out. A couple outside said they had been waiting for their food for an hour. We went across the road to the Pendle Inn instead which had very helpful and friendly staff, lovely food and a much nicer atmosphere. Would definitely recommend there over the Barley Mow.

Had a lovely meal myself. But if you have an allergy i’d strongly recommend that you either call in advance or not attend! My child has an egg allergy, so picked a VEGAN option (as NO animal products should be in the food) - but was told it contained EGG! So we chose another one of their VEGAN options and that also contained egg, πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. The staff had no clue what vegan meant or we’re confident with discussing allergy information. Was very unsettling so my child just had chips to be safe. not good πŸ‘ŽπŸ»

Lovely atmosphere, comfortable seating and the Steak and Ale Pie was rammed with meat! All reasonably priced given the location and surroundings as well. Will definitely return.

One of the best Sunday lunches. Exceptional lamb, buttery veg and creamy mash. Really, really good. Bit of a wait (about 40 minutes) but not a problem when you realise the quality of the meal. Highly recommend.

Came here without a booking after walking pendle hill in the rain. They were not quite serving lunch yet but we were made to feel very welcome and had a brew by the gorgeous fire to warm up. When food was being served we had the fish and chips which was really tasty but the star of the show was the curry sauce, absolutely delicious! A great pub to finish off in after a lovely walk.

Lovely place to eat and get a drink after a walk; it can get very busy, so make sure to book if you want to stay for a meal

We came as three adults and two children to eat. Overall the experience was ok. The food took a long time to arrive. The staff were helpful but didn't tell us that certain things weren't available on the menu so when we came to order we had to send the waitress away and look again. There were quite a lot of things that weren't available on the menu and they'd run out of sauces too. I ordered a chicken tikka flatbread which stated it had chutney but it came dry so I asked for more chutney to which they replied they didn't have any. I've heard a lot of good things so I would attend again as I think it could have just been a bad day.

We dined at the Barley Mow and were very happy with the welcome and service throughout the meal. The restaurant has a nice ambience, plenty of choice, well cooked and presented and reasonable prices. Great gluten free options available too. Will certainly return.

We went for a walk out of Barley towards the sculpture trail and then back to eat here. Luckily the pub is dog friendly. I struggled with the menu as I have an onion allergy but the waitress on the night couldn't have been more helpful. She listened , was empathic and even asked the chef what I could and couldn't have. I had the gammon which was delicious. Millionaire shortbread for dessert finished the meal off. The decor in the pub is beautiful and reminded us of a log cabin . We will be back . Highly recommended.

Faultless. Fantastic room, ale and food. Impeccable service and landlords welcoming and great company. Beef Short Rib was one of the most enjoyable dishes I've eaten for some time. Keep doing what you're doing.

Lovely pub for food! We stopped here for dinner with our dog. Our dog loved it as staff and guests kept saying hello to him! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was really nice. Good choice on the menu! Good portion sizes! Next time we are up in the area we will pop in for food again!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Barley Mow Inn, a charming riverside gem in Lancashire. Situated in a historical village surrounded by beautiful countryside, this inn offers modern and immaculate rooms. The rooms at Barley Mow Inn are stylish and clean, exuding a contemporary charm. The spotlessly clean bathrooms were a pleasant surprise. The beds and pillows were of excellent quality, ensuring a comfortable night's sleep. I couldn't find any faults with Barley Mow Inn. The landlord has done an outstanding job of creating a top-notch experience. I would confidently rate it at least four stars and highly recommend it to others. In summary, Barley Mow Inn is a delightful retreat that exceeded my expectations. With its modern rooms, pristine bathrooms, and comfortable beds, it offers a memorable experience. Whether for a weekend getaway or a longer stay, I wholeheartedly recommend Barley Mow Inn for a remarkable and enjoyable visit.

This was our First-time at the Barley Mow, Superb atmosphere, we felt superbly hosted, quality food, dishes suggested by a competent welcoming none overbearing team of staff, The Barley mow is Clean and tidy, supported by the front of house staff who know their menu, food was served on hot plates, the service of good. quality food was timely but unhurried. Absolutely we'll come back, we both enjoyed our visit. Thanks for a lovely end to a great walk up Pendle hill πŸ˜€ πŸ’™ ❀️

Good service decent food and if I was on a walking day out I'd definitely eat there again. As it stands I wouldn't drive out specifically to go there just for food. The drive up is windy single track lanes for much of it and the food would need to be spectacular to compensate for the journey.

After a great motorcycle ride in the area i stumbled across the Barley Mow and decided to stop for a well deserved drink. The place was very clean and tidy, very friendly waiting on staff and even though i didn't eat there was a very good selection on their menu. A real hidden gem of a place

I visit this pub every time I'm walking in the area. It's a delightful pub and I can only highly recommend it. The food every time has been awesome and of great quality. Even my child's burger was a proper high quality meat. Also, It's s dog friendly inside and out. I suppose the only down side is there's limited parking onsite but there's the Barley car park about 5mins walk

We stayed in room 2 and unfortunately the noise from the kitchen woke us up early on the Sunday morning. We had our evening meal there and the food was lovely and the staff were brilliant. Breakfast was really tasty and a large amount of food.I would definitely book again but not in one of the rooms over the kitchen.
