A really nice park and a very good day out with the family. I visited Worden Park for the first time with my family yesterday and we all had a fantastic time. It's a huge green space located in Leyland. Parking is fairly decent with a good sized overflow carpark, and its free!! The park itself has lots of green space with picnic tables, and trees for shade (good on hot days) My children enjoyed the play area which is huge. There are slides, swings, climbing frames, sandpit (which used to be a big concrete paddling pool) and a zip line. There is something for all ages here. There is a miniature railway which is volunteer run so they only ask for donations. Very friendly people and the train ride was amazing. It only runs at the weekend or on Tuesdays during the holidays. There is lots to do an explore here we are planning on going again soon.

A wonderful place to wander and Meander. We just went after having our little dog Angel cremated at the the pet crematorium. It is a lovely place to walk, run, jog, explore or just to remember many beautiful memories. It’s a park for everyone to enjoy and the animals love to play too. The dog in the pictures is Jazzie, Angels best mate 💚🦮💚 Heavenly thoughts “Angel” 🙏🦮🙏

Really great park! Excellent playground for children with lots of different equipment altering for all different ages. A massive sandpit too which was a lot of fun. Really nice cafe area with historic buildings and interesting independent shops. Well kept beautiful flower gardens and a train you can ride on but only running on Sundays.

Absolute mud fest!! Only 2 hrs parking. Couldn't use toilets as I didn't take my purse for a walk with me and you have to pay. Will say there is a great play area for the kids though. Probably better in the summer when it's dry.

It's a great open space for adults and kids. The paths are mixed between a solid tarmac and fixed gravel which can get muddy when it rains. I managed to get a wheelchair pushed around on the paths but was a bit bumpy. For those terrified of dogs, there are plenty that are loose running around!

A spacious and wonderfully planned park. Plenty of space given to people to enjoy various pursuits which areas set aside for conservation. As well as wonderful little areas and features to be discovered

Lots of big fields to have a game of footy on or have a picnic, great for dog walkers with a big area to walk, Food/Drink/Ice-cream available, mini steam train what goes around the fields is awesome and plenty of woods to go into. Also there is a lovely garden you can walk to there is plenty to do.

I love this park. The open football pitches, the large woods, the fungi, the dogs, and their owners. Parking is too bad, either. It's muddy in the winter, but it's glorious in the summer. I love the tree stump thrones, too! Weirwood throne :). Where has the smilyface one gone? I can't find it anymore!

Lovely well maintained park with lakes football pitches and lots of wide open tree fringed lawns , great place to take the kids for a day out with a good cafe and a well stocked ice cream and snack cabin doing burgers, chips, nuggets etc. A positive haven of tranquillity on a quiet day or away from the crowds so something for all tastes and ages. Give it a try.

I love Worden Park. It's a great place to go to relax and enjoy the beautiful gardens. And, of course, have coffee and cake in the café

My last visit here was in 2018. Since then money has been spent on the hall with a new cafe in 2020. Now, 3 years on it is starting to show signs of neglect. Broken toilet seat and rather dirty toilet generally. Paint flaking off the wall in the cafe. Clearly no maintenance contract in place after the initial refurb. Not sure if the hall is used for anything but it has a very grand entrance. The walled garden was significantly run down. No sign to tell you where the entrance was. Unkempt beds and no organised presentation of the set up at all. Mini golf looked like it hasn't been used in years. Miniature railway wasn't running on this Friday in September. Nothing to say when it would be running. On the plus side the formal garden was well planted and presented with plenty of benches around to sit and take it all in. The maze looked good though we didn't venture in. Money was being spent on tarmack for the footpaths and estate road improving access tremendously. Paths into the woods and down to the brook looked tempting but we decided to go back in dryer weather to avoid getting too much mud on our shoes. Parking was plentiful and free though there were pay and display machines covered with out of service notices. So it might be you will have to pay in future. All in all very average. We might go back next summer when the weather is dryer for a walk through the woods.

Gorgeous park, lovely woodland walk by the river, amazing kids playground and good parking.

  • 5/5 Sara P. 2 years ago on Google
This park has great memories for me, as was my go to place, when I was a teenager. It has a great play area/Park for children, some lovely walks, woods, fields and a few craft shops including a cafe. The hall is currently under refurbishment, so cannot be accessed, but I can imagine it'll be beautiful when finished. Parking is free.

All footpaths muddy at the moment but cafe is open for takeaway drinks

  • 4/5 Jonathan A. 2 years ago on Google
Great park, clean and wide open spaces. Quite muddy at the moment although paths are fine generally. Overflow car park closed so parking very limited. Cafe but was closed. Toilets but the ones I saw were chargeable. Dog cleaning area (hose) but currently out of order. Large play area for all ages. Great for older but stuff for the little ones too. Sand pit areas also. Lots of football fields so Sat Sun mornings are busier but a lot are on the fields.

Nice large park with lots to do. Less going on during Covid/ winter months but in the spring and summer the train should be running, cage open and the walled garden accessible. Great for adults dogs and children

  • 5/5 bindi t. 2 years ago on Google
Great place for kids to burn energy .. great play area ... parking can be hard at peak times especially disabled. 20p for toilets , great for picnics etc plenty of open space

  • 5/5 Simon M. 2 years ago on Google
Beautiful park, nice clean toilets, brilliant play area, lots of space. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone.

  • 5/5 Alison B. 3 years ago on Google
Huge grass areas great for walking dogs or having picnics, has a massive playground for the kids- sand area, sensory area, zip lines, climbing frames, lots of slides, lots of different types of swings (they took disabilities into account and it shows) pond for the ducks, football goal posts on the field. We didnt go far once the kids saw the playground but I think theres also a wooded area to take a stroll or walk dogs more. Toilets are 20p and ice cream van is selling ice cream cones starting from 3 pound but everything else is free 🙂

Gorgeous park with lots to do. A miniature train runs via donation every Sunday 12-3.30pm, there's a maze and the play area is the best.

Worden park is a massive place big park for the kids ice-cream van and a food van not so cheap fun little steam and electric train that takes you round a little track its also free of charge brilliant place to go for a walk picnic and to bring your dog me and the kids had a good time also a fair big car park

  • 5/5 Stuart B. 1 year ago on Google
Really nice park absolutely massive I bet more than a day to walk around, something for everyone, brilliant for dog walks

  • 5/5 David W. 1 year ago on Google
Large park. Great for a stroll. Plenty of space for kids to run around. Cafe gets very busy at peak periods. Good fun trying to get round the maze - we had to use the cheat! Pity the train doesn't run more and mini golf not open.

  • 5/5 Catherine A. 1 year ago on Google
Parking is free but there's now a 2 hour time limit. Great place for all the family & dogs to explore. If you're going to the children's play area and use the sand pit - take a bucket and spade, as it isn't easy to use the attached shovels. A great expanse of play area covered in swings, slides and climbing equipment. There are toilets next to the playground, but they cost 20p to use. In Summer, on a Sunday and in good weather, the miniature railway is open for rides around the tracks for a donation. Well done to all the enthusiasts and volunteers who keep this 'puffing' along.

  • 4/5 marjorie b. 1 year ago on Google
Well maintained gardens, ample parking. Access to toilets a bit hit and miss, but reasonably clean. Still beautiful park, lovely visit today even though weather unreliable. Lunched in the cafe today, exceptional, lovely food well cooked and presented. Plenty of choice on the menu, pets welcome and toilets very clean. 👏

Absolutely fantastic place to go for a walk, a little disappointed over the lack of facilities.. disabled toilets closed off, due to vandalism, yet the same sign was on three weeks ago ... Chorley council.. MUST DO BETTER

  • 5/5 Gillian L. 11 months ago on Google
For a small donation rides on the two miniature railways. A great experience for all ages on the 7 and a quarter inch gauge. The rides seem so fast!

  • 5/5 Ken B. 10 months ago on Google
On a lovely sunny Sunny day no better place to be. Sunday have a ride on the miniature railway. A walk through the woods or just relax in the well kept gardens. There's a good cafe, ice cream van. SOMETHING for everybody. Just let the kids run free and relax.

  • 5/5 lindsey g. 10 months ago on Google
Absolutely brilliant! Visited 2 times now, my 5 year old loved it. Really great playground area, and an added bonus of free train rides. The guys running the trains are really superb, thank you so much. Only negative is paying 20p for a wee and the extortionate ice cream van... take your own food, there's plenty of places to eat.

  • 5/5 Athena M. 9 months ago on Google
Lovely park, great kids area and lovely train staff! We went on a couple of times and the station staff were great with kids. We'll definitely return 💞

Having some work done to it, better pathways to walk down and roads, cafe has been refurbished recently and reasonably priced. Lovely place to come for a walk with dog/family or to just get some fresh air!

  • 5/5 Lee S. 7 months ago on Google
Something to do for everyone. If you've never been, go to the parks cafe in the gardens. Don't use the kiosk looking one. It's over priced. Much better options at a much lower price at the proper cafe for less money.

We goto Worden Park regularly as its fairly decent for our kids. Some of the play equipment has been there since I was a very young child and I'm now 39, so it's a bit tired. Cafe is nice but a touch expensive. Public toilets let this place down as they are always trashed, but that's more about the people who use them. More regular cleaning and maintenance would be appreciated. You also need plenty of loose change as they are pay to use. The small scale model railway is fantastic as its real steam trains you and your child can actually ride on. They are super cool.

  • 5/5 Janet E. 6 months ago on Google
The park has everything you need no matter the reason for the visit. Easy parking, wide range of walks fields, woods, riverside walks. There is a great children's play area and at weekends ride the train or play crazy golf. The Folly cafe does a great range of food and is dog friendly with dog treats! A great place to go!

Good size play area. However, there needs to be a path to the duck pond. Even with wellies on it can be a little difficult. Especially for little legs.

  • 5/5 Kelly S. 3 years ago on Google
Beutiful park to chill, walk , run, cycle and play. It has a cafe, Walled garden with a pets corner, a maze, mini golf, model steam rail (voluntary donation to ride) and public toilets (20p). There is a beautiful walk by the stream (great spot for photography) and ponds. The childrens play area has a variety of rides and a sand pit. There is a medium-sized car park with a dog cleaning area to the bottom right of inital car park. There is a small cafe, kiosk and ice cream van on sunny days. Great place to picnic. Benches and tables scattered about. Enjoy

Love this time of year. Sat in the memorial garden having lunch with my partner. People around especially families enjoying quality time together. Prefer it when there's just the two of us together, the autumnal quiet is just perfect for walks in the park. A great way to spend our annual leave, togetherness is everything.

Fantastic park with lots to do for children of all ages, come rain or shine!!! First time we’ve been and the little ones (aged 2) absolutely loved it! Plenty green space for running around, picnics, bike rides, public toilets (20p to use but nice and clean!), plenty woodland walks, nature to look at (lots of squirrels in the woods) and a huge play park with around 6-7 different sections to it with something for children of every age! Cafe on site called The Folly (lovely coffee and sandwiches). Great place overall, we had a really lovely day. Will be coming back :)

Great place for dogs and children alike! One if my favourite parks since childhood. Fab play area, lovely woods to walk the dog, good toilet facilities. Wear your wellies if you want to be able to go everywhere as fields and woods are very muddy in winter. Maze is closed at moment but should be open again post COVID. Look out for the tree that is over 350 years old by the formal gardens. Nice cafe (again post COVID), and there is also a kiosk selling hot drinks, hot food (chips, burgers, hot dogs etc) and ice cream open most weekends over winter and throughout summer.
