A peaceful surrounding that won't disappoint. Staff is courteous and stepping on the grounds transports you back in time. Venue offers cultural offerings. Tour the garden or the mansion to find peace and serenity. A must when visiting CBBA.

This is a beautiful place with a lot of history, it is a bicon of the arts, the building itself is a masterpiece of the late 18 century architecture built by the best architect and decorated by the best artists of the time. The palace has electric wiring and a generator, plumbing and all the confort we enjoy today in the USA. The place was ment to be the retirement house for the then richest man in earth who never got to inhabit the place, his eirs left the place and a small portion of the fortune to a foundation that promotes artist and helps bright people with low income to achieve their professional success

Palacio Portales is an iconic place to visit, has one of the best gardens in the country with a collection of exotic plants and trees, brought to Cochabamba mant decades ago. This palace has an astonishing architecture, Italy, France, Arabesque styles, etc. Then what else can we expect when Simón Iturri Patiño a Bolivian industrialist who was among the world's wealthiest people at the time of his death was behind this monumental design.

(Translated by Google) It is a pleasure to be surprised by the wonders that money makes. Marbles of carara, woodwork of first cabinet, granites, carvings, replicas and paintings of the time, there are spaces where unfortunately they do not let take photos, but that also has some mystery to go. They do not believe? No creen?

Curious to see this European style building made out a mix of so many different many. The most interesting part is however the story of the family, how they started, grew their business and contributed to the Bolivian society. We took the guided tour which gets you to see the interior of the building as well + an interesting video (in very quick Spanish) on the family. The garden is average.

Great tour and very cheap too. The inside is comparable to antique buildings in the UK or elsewhere, very well built and meticulous in detail. If you're about the details you must visit

Beautiful center, exhibit and performance space, botanical gardens, and library. The tours of the main house are worth it as the guides are knowledgeable and tours are offered in several language, including English. After the Center, visit the Patiño's summer home and agricultural experimental farm in Pairumani.

We came with a friend that interpreted for us. Our Spanish is weak at best. The history and spectacle was displayed well in this gorgeous mansion and beautiful gardens. After the tour we had tea and a meal with more friends. It was worthwhile visit!

The English tour was very informative. The grounds are beautiful and you get to see several rooms of the house. The art work and architectural designs are breathtaking. This house was built in the 1920 and is just stunning.

Very nice grounds with lots of different trees and flowers. The house is ornate and has an interesting history. Tours are given every 30 minutes and are in a variety of languages. Only one language per tour though so you may need to wait.

It has the main house (palace) in addition to the library, theater and other environments, the tours are very good but they are a bit restricted due to the COVID issue, the entrance costs 15 Bs and they give you a tour of the property, you can also enter the library that has a quite good collection .
