I recently got into the saltwater fish hobby, and Michael has been an incredible guide! I placed my first order with him, and will certainly be going back for more! The fish arrived safely packaged, and within a day were swimming around happily in the tank. He is so knowledgeable and helped me choose the right fish for my tank size, and provided guidance on filters and fish food. I got the Kupang damsel and Melanurus wrasse, and they are doing great. Cannot recommend NYAquatic highly enough!

Love the customer service. I bought an expensive wrasse that died (because sometimes fish just die) and they replaced it no problem. They truly do embody hard work and dedication to our amazing hobby. This father-daughter duo is amazing to watch. The fish you buy are healthy and fat. Love this place. Worst customer service I have ever received. I’ve placed 2 orders with NYAquatic and had major issues with both. First order, I spent $400 for a gigantea anemone and was sent a haddoni. Didn’t offer anything except to make it right when he had a gigantea available. Found a gigantea on the website (never contacted me to see if he could “make it right”). Paid another $400. The anemone was poorly packaged for a winter shipment from NY to WI. Shipment was delayed and the anemone arrived in ice cold water. That means they probably only had 12 hour heat packs in the thinnest styrofoam cooler I’ve ever seen for a shipment in sub freezing temperatures. Anemone was expelling it’s guts and melting. I Contacted him immediately. Called, emailed, used the “contact us” form on the website, fb messaged, sent messages on R2R. Finally, after NINE DAYS I finally get an email that the item was arrive alive guarantee only and he’d work with me on the next one. Yeah, I know how that goes. He claims he’s going to issue a refund. I hope that’s true. I’ve included pics of the ‘alive’ animal so sadly lost in this transaction.

Was very excited to try this store as they have a great social media presence. However I purchased one fish from there and within a couple days my entire tank was infected with Brook, killing my entire tank! Definitely be sure to quarantine fish from here because they don’t treat their tanks like other top LFS do in the area

I ordered a purple tang, a small powder, blue tang, and two electric blue hermit crabs. They were shipped as discussed. They arrived in great condition, and they were packed well. They spared no expense on the shipping with the nice Styrofoam coolers, inside of the box, and everything was well cared for. lost a fish from them before within their 14 day guarantee and they honored without question. Just a simple picture of the deceased fish. Will definitely do business again and again. Plus you always got a good deal on what you’re looking for.

Ordered last week for the second time. I was a little nervous the first time because of the mixed reviews. So I called and spoke to Michael, the owner who assured me and answered all my questions. The fish arrived healthy and on time. I have a suspicion that many of the negative reviews are from his competitors that are just trying to damage his reputation. This seems to be a very brutal and competitive business with many unethical players. NY Aquatics is one of the good guys.

If you're looking for the best prices, customer service, and underwater critters, then NY aquatic is the place to go! I've ordered from Michael 3 times so far and have always had a positive outcome. He's easy to work with and understands that sometimes fish can't make the shipping trip so he refunds/replaces the animal. I placed an order a few days ago and the weather is around 20 degrees. The package arrived quickly and well packaged with all 7 specimens happy and healthy! This will continue to be the only place I buy fish/inverts from. Thanks again!

Ordered 4 tangs and a diamond butterfly.This was after I had changed the order. Add to this the order had to be held a week as I was out of town. Michael could not have been more accommodating. He actually helped me with shipping costs combining shipping for the 5 fish to save me money. Fish were delivered expertly packed. All 5 fish ate shortly out of their bags. In closing I highly recommend NY aquatic as pricing and more importantly service are second to none. Highly recommend NY aquatic!!!

Updated review- Recent addition to there offering was Friday fish finds and I was able to score some nice fish under unbeatable prices and all fish came in healthy. Black tang I got if insanely beautiful and larger than what they advise on there website (6 inch what it said but it’s actually over 7 inches ) Nice and healthy and eating well. Lost copper band butterfly in shipping which they readily accepted to replace it. There customer service has increased a lot better now and very fast response to my messages as well. I will definitely shop there again and advise my friends to do as well. Thanks 🙏

Met your crew at Reef-a-Palooza! snagged a phenomenal Copper Band Butterfly, and when I got home I decided to order a Foxface, it arrived this morning, in great shape, acclimated to my tank and while a little shy still, is already making itself at home and becoming friends with its tank mates! will definitely be following and ordering additional fish in the future!

I can’t even describe how amazing my experience has been with them. There great prices are just the start to it. Their customer support is by far their best asset. I annoyed Michael through email for probably 3 days straight asking questions and for pictures. Never once did I get a bad response. Always sent more pictures and even pictures of other fish I would like. He never missed a single call to him even when he was on the way to the doctor. All my fish arrived very happy and well, with great step by step instructions. I wouldn’t look any further for another fish retailer. Thank you for everything! I purchased my first order from NY Aquatics (NYA) and received my shipment on 26 October 2023 and they were very helpful with coordinating when I needed the package to arrive. I would recommend them, and already have my eye on my next purchase. They always have great sales on their livestock and when it’s that good it’s tough to request off work to be available to receive shipment. But they held it so that i could coordinate to be off. The day the fish arrived couldn’t have been better day. However, the water in packaging was still good temperature and felt warm. Initially one of the fish showed severe signs of stress, and during and after acclimation, and even a few days after the fish showed signs that it wouldn’t make it. This whole time i was in communication with NYA and provided them with videos and some pictures-and they responded quickly with suggestions. Fortunately, things turned out for the best and now i have two very healthy and active Blotched Anthias who now eat a variety of Brine, Mysis, Bloodworms and pellets. I have previous experience with Anthias so i knew what i was getting into. Thank you all for your amazing customer service!

I bought two barbonious anthias that arrived at my house on 9/28. One died upon arrival while the other one is thriving 2+ months later. Thank you Michael. Michael did a great job on shipping & packaging them so the other anthias likely died from stress coming from NY to FL. Refund was quick & prompt for the dead anthias. Shipping is non-refundable, but wasn't concerned about it because doing the math on just 1 fish + shipping was a great deal. Michael also runs a lot of great promotions so if I need more barbonious anthias again I'll be buying from him. He doesn't quarantine, but both fish I got from him that I have today + DOA looked healthy. Thanks for all you do Michael, will definitely consider him again for future fish, and love to catch up someday as a Finance Manager on his pricing strategy, profit margins, and approach on doing business.
