Friendly staff, pleasant environment and great food!😁

When I came to Cimbru I honestly didn't knew what to expect. The place has a solid traditional vibe to it with a modern twist. Working my way out through the menu, it's obvious the food is not traditional romanian cuisine. There is a bit of something for everybody. Mostly meat dishes. I ordered the Angus beef stake, and it was delicious. I would like to try some other dishes they have in the menu.

Very friendly staff. Hands down the best iced coffee I've had so far. They had Vegan milk for the iced coffee which is always a plus... Filet Mignon was ok, but the side items that came with it was a great addition. Homemade Chocolate dessert was amazing, definitely worth a try, maybe too much for one person. Probably a good idea to call and get a reservation before showing up, it can get pretty busy on a weekday.

Nice cozy place with a private garden. Food was good, but cannot give 5 stars because the meat in the photo it was a rare one, or at least it's what I ordered. Except this problem, it's definitely worth the visit. Also cocktails were nice

We knew Cimbru from EC, being one of the vans we almost exclusively eat. The steak there, tagliata or in a bun, is the best. We always wanted to visit one of their restaurant but we did not had the chance till this year. And this year we went twice, to compensate :))). What can we say: the food is superb. The appetizers were delicious - the liver paté, the eggplant salad, the crust eggplant with cheese, beef tartar. Yummy. Also the 2nd dish - snitzel, shrimps with risotto or plain shrimps on grill were a delight. The only lack were the sweets, we think they would do nice things with them too :) maybe next time... the atmosphere is cozy, informal, amiable. The staff was really polite. We will be back, for sure

I've been meaning to go for quite some time, but I never got there as it's a little off the beaten path and not close to my usual routes. But that changes now, as I finally got here and I now know what amazing food I missed. As we were a group of 4, we were able to try a variety of their dishes. We loved all of them, as they were well prepared and very delicious. The Fried Turkey Schnitzel was delicious, the octopus was cooked perfectly and the Beef Steak was a perfect medium-rare, as I asked. Their desserts don't fall short either, the Homemade Chocolate was dense and tasted of cocoa, it was super nice. The Apple Tart came warm and it was great with the cold weather. They have both outdoor and indoor seating, the staff are very efficient and the food arrived relatively fast, as they place was pretty packed and everyone was ordering food.

Tasty food. Changing menu from what I can tell. Not many vegetarian options, however the beetroot risotto with goat cheese was absolutely incredible 😍

Grateful for GMaps recommendations, otherwise I wouldn't have found this place. We had dinner: Beef+Vegetable bowl and Salsiccia sausages. This was the best beef I'd ever had and the flaky salt was a really good addition. The vegetables were very tasty and perfectly cooked. Def will come again, for other beef dishes. The atmosphere is very cozy and homely, like you're at your grandma's house (if you opt for a table inside). The service was fast but the personnel could be better, however it wasn't as much of a turnoff not to give them 5 stars. I hope more people discover this place in Cluj-Napoca. Thanks, Cimbru!

Gorgeous place and amazing food: 11/10 Location is near the center of Cluj, about 15 min walking distance. The outdoors is lovely decorated, gives a feeling of dining at the beach somewhere The food: Very delicious steak! With side salad and fresh drinks and great wine. Would definitely recommend any steak dishes form them. The staff: Friendly and prompt for anything we needed. I'll definitely be back here!

The restaurant is a bit hard to spot at first and inconspicuous from the outside, but as soon as you enter the courtyard, you are met by an incredibly great atmosphere and ambience. 🤩 We were lucky to get a small table for two without a reservation. The food and wine were the highlights of the beautiful evening. The waiters and waitresses were very nice and attentive. Definitely worth one or more visits. Best regards from Germany 🇩🇪

We were passing through Cluj and accidentally found this wonderful place. It was a very interesting experience for us getting to know the local cuisine. We tried 4 main items from the menu: sausages, risotto and beef, and also decided on a craft beer. Everything was delicious! Service is great, there was no problem with English. You have so funny and cute toilet room with a grandmother's key 😆 We wish you good luck and all the best! You are cool guys!😎 P. S. The waiter with an interesting hair highlights such a charmer 🤩

Fantastic good food and deserts, meat cooking just perfect

Had a great experience at this restaurant in Cluj. Starting with the service which was fast and super friendly (the staff also recommended the Eggplant salad which was the best I’ve had), the nice cosy atmosphere in the backyard and finishing with a nice pork plate.

My first experience of this place. A small menu, beautifully cooked. Lovely waiting staff, helpful and prompt but not intrusive. We had a big cold platter between us instead of a dessert. It was wonderful, especially the cheeses, and we struggled to finish it all. A very nice menu for pescatarian shellfish addicts like me. Can't wait to go again! ♥️

Cozy hidden restaurant. Nice atmosphere, great service and the food ...amazingly delicious!

First and foremost the food, it's very tasty and quite quickly served. For vegetarians and vegans there are some options, but not so many! Second comes the staff and serving: mainly friendly, prompt and helpful, although I sensed a kind of inauthenticity and overcare with clients. Third is the location, it's not in the centre but not far either, about 15~20 min walking distance. Both, indoors and outdoors are simply yet nicely decorated, but somehow cramped and crowded by personnel and clients. Also, if you come by car, there is no restaurant owned parking lots, so prepare to look around a bit!

Really the best restaurant i’ve ever been in cluj! Period. If you are looking for very special and tasty food like asian, cimbru is the one you need! It’s pricey but, it is really worth it!

We were lucky to get a table without having a reservation. We ordered many times from this place and we wanted to see how it's the food and atmosphere in the location. It didn't disappoint. 4 to 5 stars because of the wait time. The food is tasty and the waiters are nice and helpful.

The service was great and a good atmosphere. The menu is quite unique which is good. On he other hand, the food was not that tasty. The place is overpriced based on what you actually get. The location is not great either, you could see there is not much renovation being done, neither much investment done in the place.

Really great food here. There is lots to choose from on the menu and the portion sizes are great. The beef steak is really good and the pork with mashed potatoes. Another highlight is the octopus. During winter they have warmed igloos which are quite fun too. Overall great experience!

The food is really really tasty. Besides that, they’re using biodegradable packaging which is a big plus in my book. 100% recommend 👌🏻

Nice cozy patio with tasty food and good service...

Very good food, they have vegetarian options (risotto, halloumi and veggie bowl with curry sauce). Their primary dish is steak, and they make it really good. The atmosphere is cozy, let's say rustic chic. The service is impeccable. Prices are a little high, but well worth.

Where to begin....the food is delicious. It's non pretentious food with nowhere to hide. It's a skill to do something like this because everything is pure and simple but the outcome is extremely tasteful. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the interior is very beautiful and cosy. They are in my top 5 of the best restaurants I have ever been to. I cannot recommend this place enough. Keep up the good work, guys!! (And girls :-))
