I don't know why this old fashioned restaurant is so popular... The waiting is 10min+, the prices are super expensive, the portions are big but it doesn't make sense because the quality of the food is not even close to premium. We got some tripe soup and snitzel with french fries...of course the soup was sour enough to cover the smell of tripe and the snitzel&fries were very fried in a lot of oil and got dried. I would not recommend this restaurant, maybe only if you are starving and you have no choice.

Huge portions. Homemade like taste.

Great food, we have known the place for many years and it has never disappointed. It has become quite expensive, but the portions are huge, enough for two people. One more advice, always check your bill and ask for explanations regarding what they charged you.

Dirty restaurant fool of stains on tablecloth, they didn’t clean very well the crumbs from the previous customer. The portions are large but the prices are quite high for the quality of the food. I will not return again.

The food is great and the portions are very generous, but the service is absolutely terrible. We waited longer than 10 minutes to be noticed by a waiter and we ended up getting the menus from another table. When we were done, we asked for the check, waited another 10+ minutes, asked for the check again and the waiter rolled his eyes and said he was coming... Yeah, he didn't come and we had to wait again. If I were to come again, I would order the food to go so I wouldn't have to deal with the staff's total lack of hospitality.

Food was actually good, huge portions, but the service was terrible, awful actually. Prices were fairly high, but again, the portions were huge (seriously 2 persons can eat one portion).

Undoubtedly the best place for tripe soup and pork stake in Cluj Napoca.

It was a little cold inside, but the Tripe Sour Soup was really worth it. I'm a local and this might be the best Tripe Sour Soup you can get in the entire city.

Same old, same old. Good Romanian food. Portions are huge and you can always take a doggy bag. I ordered ciorba de fasole cu ciolan afumat. Delicious.

Very big portions! 😊 And also very good food. Warm people, with bunch of smiles on their faces. Accesibile by car, bicycle and as pedestrian. 10-15 minutes of walking from Cluj-Napoca city center. Also public transportation near location. Prices are moderate but think about the portions first 😜

A low budget looking restaurant with quite premium prices. With what I paid there, I could eat the same things anywhere in Cluj and often with lower prices. When entering you might think that is cheap if you take in consideration how bad it looks and how old is the furniture there.

You don't go to Fair Play for the hip design or great service. They have none of that. But you do go for the best tripe soup in the region. Just don't get the large portion unless you haven't eaten in a week.

Great (almost) hidden place in Cluj. Everything is so good! Best "ciorbe" in town! Top quality. I can recommend "ciorba de burta" or "de perisoare". The meat is very well cooked too. And don't forget the desert..."papanasi cu gem şi smintina " is my choice. Reasonable prices.

Food is ok, huge portions, but limited possibilities to choose from. No mititei, no pizza, no pasta. So if you go with kids, get prepared that they will have to eat meat and fries.

is like $7-8 (30-40 lei) (soup). Its a large amount, but why should I force myself to eat that much? Restaurant furniture is REALLY old. Services is bad. Your clothes will smell as in a kitchen where lots of cooking is taking palce. You have sour cream in its original container and pay $3 (12lei) for it. Why can i get a small portion? We paid $25 (100 lei) for 2 soups, 1 desert.

Amazing food, portions, and prices! Don’t pass on the papanași (Romanian donut)! This awesome little “mom & pop” cafe came recommended for the best authentic Romanian food in town, and didn’t disappoint. Make sure to go when you have time, since everything is at a standard “European pace” for dining, but don’t miss out when visiting Cluj.
