Superb ethnographic museum. Probably the best in Romania. Interesting quality exhibits and informational. The staff is friendly. Couldn’t get VR headset to work but since it’s rare to even see those , it wasn’t a big deal. Back to the manual tools for me.

It was lovely, clean, organized, but... No explanations. Just a note what the item is & from when & where. All the multimedia was out of order The VR was a nice idea but since all explanations were it Romanian I couldn't get them to work & no one offered help. I expected much more!!! Nice 30 minutes but could have been much much much more.... Tickets are bought at the 1st floor. 10 lei for adults

Tiny but representative museum where one can get to know the ethnic diversity of Romania in 18-20th centuries. The variety of traditional clothes impressed me. There was also an art exhibition by a modern artist who reinterpreted the Christian motives. It’s a quick and simple way to get a brief overview of Romanian culture, so I definitely can recommend.

Museum which includes objects of cultural heritage of Transylvania and more. It's a special collection of traditional details of agricultural works and costumes of different districts. A good place to visit when you come to Cluj Napoca to expand knowledge of the culture of this country! The staff have good attitude to guide the visitor but if you want to take some photo better to pay the extra ticket on the entrance.

Nice visit, I was looking for a big collection of Romanian Traditional outfits, but they didn’t have that much. Great customer service, the lady who works at the ticket office and the lady working at the gift shop were very nice.

A surprise for us and also for our kids. We visited a rock exhibition and then we saw a Lego exhibition. But passing through the Lego stands we watch with a big curiosity over the daily exposition. All was Great!

A beautiful museum right in the heart of the city. The museum also holds temporary expositions, like the lego exposition, an interactive experience for children and adults alike. If you plan on visiting Cluj, this place is definitely worth a visit

Very interesting museum about the daily lofe and all the historic tools used for all type of activities with the hand. I especially liked the exhibition about traditional clothes and dresses of the different regions and some nice historical photographs. Highly recommended

Nice museum, a little dated (well, it has VR, so only partially true), interesting and fun. Don’t forget to request a brochure with explanations about exhibition parts and tickets table

The museum is great and rich in artifacts. The VR headsets are so intuitive vhere you see remote places. The staff could be a bit more friendly, especially with children. "Do not touch" signs would be a great addition in front of artifacts instead of constant reminders from the staff to not touch things. Washrooms need upgrading 🙃. Otherwise, it is a great cultural place to visit.

Excellent exposure of photographs of 19th-20th Centuries of shepherds and the tools they used. Nice gift shop where I bought a Byzantine Icon and had it blessed by an Orthodox Monk whom I randomly encountered.

I don't understand the bad reviews 'cause for the prize (2.5 lei for students), it's a really nice and neat place, there are translations in English for every piece inside. We also have the lucky to met the painter of the 2th floor exhibition: she was really kind and she explained to us some things behind her painting and her life. The staff was polite too.

Nice cozy museum with rich exhibition giving you a glimpse into Transilvanian culture. + accessibility for wheelchair (first + second floor) + logically structured pieces, combination of tools, photos, clothes (fascinating embroidery), jewelry, ceramics etc. + advanced tech: VR goggles, interactive screens etc. + QR-codes (second floor only), which lead you to the website with the description of pieces + having a guide is definitely better - little English description / names of the pieces only, but Google-translate helps :) \/ I'd recommend visiting when in Cluj.

A small museum of Transylvanian rural traditions in the heart of Cluj-Napoca. The permanent exhibition includes everyday tools, ceramic crockery, huge storage vessels for cereals, leather accessories and even weapons. One of the rooms contains a piano and is also used as an event hall for choral concerts. On the second floor there is an exhibition of traditional costumes and jewellery.

Very tastefully and logically laid out. A wonderful taste of Transylvania

Quite a nice museum with lots of artefacts. However there is barely any text or explanations and if so unfortunately only in Romanian. So for international Tourists it is not a must do.

So many things to see!!! You need time to stay and read everything. The children and adults can do a puzzle on the computer, towards the end of the exhibition.

Fantastic selection and knowledgeable staff, many of whom still practice the traditional arts. I suggest talking with the elders still embroidering. They carry some of their own work in the gift shop, so you can support these The museum hosts an extensive collection of agricultural, pastoral, smithing, carpentry and fishing tools. The regional fashion section is exceptional. For its attention to subcultural distinctions, that exhibit alone beats out all the other history museums I have seen in Europe. Unfortunately the labels contain very little information. Foreign investment has directed resources towards glitchy virtual reality that does not do credit to the art or places in which they seek to immerse. I wish the oral history stations were functioning. I think hearing the voices of practitioners adds a lot to folk art exhibits.

Many exhibits and varied from all regions. Not many details though, which is a shame, but if you know already things about the past and how people lived back then, it's not an issue. The ticket prices are 2.5 lei for students and 10 lei for adults. If you want to take pictures even as an amateur, you have to pay an extra fee of 5 lei.

The ethnographical Museun in Strada Memorandumului 21,Cluj Napoca is a real treasure in the city. The visitor can get a very good view of Transilvania during the latest centuries. The photos, the various objects and the clothes presented travel the tourist through time, and it is as you live then and there. The only small difficulty is the working stuff, that are old bored ladies that don't speak any other language but Romanian, they make too much noise and the talk aloud on the phone all the time

interesting objects and memories of a past of Romania that is still very rural and attached to its values in many areas. Beautiful country and many people Real. September 2019 Coming from our Breizh Celtic Country of France

The items are well presented, exactly what I expected from an ethnographical museum. The exposition is rather small. The last rooms had no english translations. At the same time it was hard to use google translate because there is an additional fee for taking photos (so I didn't want to use my phone).

Very pleasant experience, going back to past when everything was so genuine and authentic.

A third of the display was filled with religious orthodox glass paintings...
