The museum is inside the UBB campus. It presents a large collection of stuffed animals, birds, fish, corals, shells, butterflies, insects. The stuffed animal collection includes camel, giraffe, lion. All the species have the names written in Latin. Most of the name tags are in Romanian, Hungarian English too.

I was amazed for the various species of birds that you can find in Romania!! If you are in Cluj you definitely have to visit the museum!

I came for the creepy taxidermy and I was not disappointed. This place is brimming with odd and beautiful specimens from across the animal kingdom. The museum was nearly empty when I visited on a warm Thursday afternoon in August.

Amazing muzeum with a great variety of animals and insects. It was so nice seeing all those species in reality and see them up close.

I love it ! The most amazing animal museum I have seen, so cheap, for students it's just 4 lei, it's amazing cheap and full of animals, sea, animals, fly animals, and hundreds of bugs, perfect for kids and adults

Wow, what a time capsule! Well most of the animals are pretty old, so don't get too caught up in the looks. I mean if you want to see the real deal just turn on the tv and watch national geographic, or go to the zoo. But still most of the stuffed animals are in pretty good shape for being more than 50+ years old. Just take your time and enjoy, this place has a magic of it's own!

Ceased to exist since 2015. There is now a handful of reptiles and birds where the museum once was. (the animals at the new building were awesome, but its not what was depicted in the description and title) (this review may no longer be applicable)

Beautiful place! It has an impressive number of species, most of them greatly preserved. Also a great place for kids, there were a lot of families visiting with their children while we were there. The only downside of this Museum is that the location is a bit hidden and also..not enough marketing so you can only find this place after a more intense search on google:)

A very nice experience both for the kids and for adults as well. We visited on a Sunday and it wasn't caused crowded at all (just us and another family). Even if some stuffed animals were not in a good shape, the kids liked to see how they look in real life and to see their real size. Some animals and insects looked like they were alive. They also have another museum with live snakes, reptile and birds. The admission fee is low and it's worth visiting it.

Absolutely superb, you really have a lot to see here, so make sure to give it at least 2 hours. No parking space unfortunately

I just love the fauna of Transylvania! Nice display and a lovely guide. If in Cluj-Napoca, have a stroll in the Miko gardens and visit the Zoological Museum.

I'm big fan of this place. Antiquated style of presentation makes this place very unique in this day and age. The reason why presenting specimens is frowned upon now is because every major city wants a natural history museum, and this would lead to the decimation of fragile populations. Watch for what looks like a baby in a jar on the second floor!!!

You need more than one day to see all the intereting thing on display there. The Zoological Museum in Cluj is a must go if you are seeking for things to see and want to visit again and again. If you are a biology passionate, reaserve at least one full day if not two.

Hidden gem in the middle of Cluj. You have to go inside the faculty grounds ( easiest from Clinicilor street ) to see the museum. Tons of small exponates and a few medium and large ones. Paid parking nearby ( cheap during the weekends ).

A somewhat macabre and weird museum but an interesting way to spend an hour, if no other option remains. The specimens on display are all several decades old, which gives the entire place a very very special vibe - Somewhere between creepy and fascinating (As you can surely take from the pictures I added to this review).

It's not a fancy museum, but the somewhat tired and broken aspect is what gives it a unique charm. Well worth a visit.

Came Oct. 2023, this place is awesome!. My husband and I stayed for two hours and could of stayed longer. Will come again and again. Note they do not take bank cards only cash.

Good for kids, they have many exhibits on display but few additional details about them. I liked the retro/vintage furniture but the museum could be a lot more interactive for kids. Suggest to visit Vivarium in the basement, where you can see live anacondas and other reptiles.

Interesting place in old style. There is really a lot of exhibits, so it is great pla e for Biology sciences students.
