Must see. It is amazing to be able to visit the Salinas 13 and 26 floors underground. Well lighted and various amenities in the 2 Salinas we visited it misses instructions and description of the place you go in, depth , historical information ... Dear management, add informations or attendants at the elevators so the visitors can find out where are they going and the facts about the place. We had to guess where we are when we went down, long line up at the elevators, the tourists don't know what to do. Please improve the logistic to make this place a great place to visit. And market it better.

Wow! This was an amazing experience. This place is just fabulous. There's otherworldly views, it's very interesting everywhere. You can read the story of this magnificent place in the wall signs. I recommend you taking the stairs.. And breathing. This is for sure one of the coolest places I have been. It's one must do when visiting the beautiful Romania. I think this is something that you don't usually see anywhere. It's incredible how they digged this hundred of years ago. Really deep. I didn't take the boat, but it might be something nice to do too.

The scale of the cave is impressive. At first it was very scary to look down, then we got used to it. The place is very atmospheric and impressive. But you could come up with something more interesting than underground playgrounds. There is little entertainment for adults. Ferris wheel costs 15 lei for one person, boat ride - 30 lei for 20 minutes. Parking - 5 lei for one hour, the first 15 minutes are free

The salt mine is very interesting to visit although I had higher expectations. We paid at the entrance. There was a long line waiting for the elevator so we used the stairs to go down. We took a boat in the lake, it was fun.

We really enjoyed it. We were there on a Tuesday mid morning. No line and only a small wait for one elevator. It was pretty cool to see the marbling in the salt. The price was very reasonable. Don’t forget a jacket!

Wow, it's amazing to think they ate all that salt to build a boating lake and a ferris wheel in an abyss. Amazing place with incredible scale. Ignore the little voice you can't fly. Beautifully air conditioned so dress warm if you get cold easily. It's a constant temperature wasn't any warmer in summer! Worth a visit and you could spend half a day there if you use, read. all the features. Interesting, historical place being put to good use. Leave the push chair in the car as it isn't designed for them. Use the stairs it's good exercise and there are lots unless you want to get old waiting for the lazy lift. A multi lingual sign requesting fit healthy people to use stairs would encourage them to leave the lifts for the less able. Just a thought.

Still thinking about visiting this place? Well, it’s 100% worth it.🤩 I didn’t really know what to expect but I was blown away by the magnitude of the salt chambers labyrinth and all the equipment that I saw. 👍🏻 ☑️ It feels like time travelling to a different land ☑️ Besides admiring the magnificent scenery you can participate in different types activities such as: 🚣‍♀️ boat ride about 20 min (max 3 people/boat for 30 lei/ boat ) 🎱Pool, etc. ☑️You can buy the tickets online🎟 or at the register with cash or 💳 ☑️Souvenirs 🎁 👎🏻 ✖️Extremely crowded during national holidays or during the weekend ✖️You can’t pay the parking by 💳, only cash (1 leu, 5 lei, 10 lei bills) ✖️No eating or drinking inside ( pack a bottle of water 💧 )

Overall the experience was exceptional and I had no problems throughout my visit. Everything is well maintained and sectioned off for safety reasons. The hallways accommodate sufficiently everybody and aren’t slippery from water dropping or warmed salt. The saline requires a bit of hiking inside; completely manageable by the average. However, the stairs and elevators are severely crowded and lack enough space for everybody to go at once. The elevators can usually only hold 3-4 people (depending on weight capacity) making the wait to go to the bottom floor significant as well as going up. You would be better off simply using the stairs at all times. For those wondering, it isn’t as cold as it says. The temperature is more like 18 degrees Celsius to begin with, plus the added muscle thermal production from doing cardio it feels like 22 degrees. To some it may be different, however it isn’t as cold as they say. Wear a thin sweater just in case. Wonderful experience, I highly recommend! Blessings, Andrei

One of the most beautiful salt pans in Romania! You have somewhere to relax, you have somewhere to walk, you can go on a roller coaster, you can row on the lake in boats, you can play mini golf, you can eat, time can pass very easily considering the large number of activities that you can do do there

Love this place. You feel like on the other planet here. You go deep in the ground, for Me Felt like 25 floors below. It has coffee shop, has souvenirs, like small lake where you can rent boat. Lot of lights that really brings the beauty to the mine.

This place is something. We enjoyed to visit the mine. Bear in mind to eat before as you are not allowed to eat inside and there is no any point to buy some snacks. We used the stairs and also the elevator. There was a big queue at the elevator but this was not an inconvenient for us.

One of the most visited places in Romania... Why? I have been in Poland Wieliczka salt mine and that is the place to see. In Turda you go down... ride the wheel, row the boat... and then you have to get up again.. stairs are narrow, no air, lifts take only few people and the lines are long. Nothing much to buy... I have never been more disappointed, sorry. Not worth the money. Boat attraction take cash only, also the wheel and pool. Extremely small shop took card also. You can download app to listen the story... but it did not work.

At the venue, there are enough parking spaces available if you arrive by car. We waited in line for a long time to buy the tickets at the reception. I would recommend buying your ticket online to skip the line as suggested by a billboard on site. The huge salt mine is very impressive and the history surrounding it's origin is displayed in three languages. I strongly recommend the boat ride on the eery salt lake 120m below ground at the lowest point of the mine. My only criticism is that it was very crowded and even felt claustrophobic at times since they do not seem to have a maximum of allowed visitors at a time so you were basically stuck inside a mountain with thousands of other people. Due to so many tourists, it became pretty loud - the whole venue is basically an echo chamber - and the waiting time for each attraction and the elevators was very long. The alternative, narrow staircases, are only easily accessible for physically fit people. And even for the one-way stairs, we had to wait in line about 15 min. until we were let through. Overall it is definitely worth to see but maybe try it on a weekday instead of Sat/Sun as we did.

Beautiful salt mine with a lot of attractions inside. The mine is quite crowded, so i suggest you take the stairs into the mine and back up and avoid the elevator. The entrance fee is 50 RON for adults, not 40 RON as mentioned on the website. It is not very cold inside, so there is no need for a jacket or for warm clothes. I recommend it for a short visit, but the only reasons I am giving it 3 stars is for the miscommunication regarding the admission fee and because I would have preferred the mine to be left with its natural beauty, without all the games they built inside (ping-pong tables, mini-golf, bowling, etc.)

A wonderful location, with many relaxation and leisure areas. It is clearly one of the wonders of the modern world. You are speechless when you realize that you are more than 26 floors underground. It's the 3rd time I've visited it in 8 years and every time I'm speechless. It is absolutely necessary to visit this salt pan if you arrive in Romania!

Very well maintained facility and it's vast. Very interesting to spend a full day in these old salt mines. Might be a bit cool inside so bring a light jacket. There were quite a few people in there, so walking up and down took some time. The light installations were beautiful.

You need to visit this place! So beautiful! We were only tourists but you can spend the whole day there, there is so much to do. You can even go in there to read a book. Entrance is 50 RON during the week and 60RON in the weekend. Additionaly you have to pay 5RON per hour for parking. Try to be early there because you move up and down via elevators inside and they are pretty small, so when the place is full you will spend a lot of time waiting for an elevator.

If you go here, definitely take a tour guide! It makes it a lot better and informative. The bottom of the bell shaped chamber that you can go down to has been filled with a bunch of touristy attractions, like a ferris wheel and table tennis, which in my opinion were completely unrelated to the salt mine. As they stopped mining salt there, you can also only buy salt from the Himalayas.

It's worth a visit. It's preferable to go during the week because it gets quite crowded on weekends. You can explore the salt mine on foot or take the elevator (although there's usually a substantial queue). Unfortunately, the entrance ticket price keeps increasing (now it's 50 RON/adult), and the conditions remain the same. There are a few additional paid attractions (ping pong, mini golf, billiards, a Ferris wheel - which wasn't operating when I visited in September, or you can rent a boat for a 20-minute at a cost of 30 RON for 3 people).

Great sight to visit. Parking is available directly in front, ticket prices are okay! The one thing I want to mention is that it not quite ready for accessibility. Lots of stairs and the elevator is available but also requires one to take stairs. It can be quite crowded at times (which I believe is normal) but in my eyes - this is a must see when in the area.

This is one of the places that everyone should visit in their life! In addition to the history of salt extraction for more than 300 years, with manual labor, where you will also be allowed to descend to a depth of more than 100 meters and breathe for hours with salty air, which penetrates your nose within a couple of tens of minutes, and the breathing itself becomes completely different after a few hours!

The experience is ones in a live time, I recommend to go and see that fairytale salt mine! Lights are magical and the color of the walls unreal, like from another planet! Only tip is to go early in the morning to avoid crowds of people by the elevators.

An amazing sight to see as you descend into the mine. It's really cold down in the mine, even in the summer, so I'd advise wearing layers. There are numerous activities available indoors, including golf, pool, and ping pong. A ferris wheel and a children's playground are also present. You can row a boat around in the pond, which is very awesome. There are also more expensive but worthwhile private trips available within the cave, where you can get up close and personal with the salt rock formations. The view is breathtaking.

A special salt pan from all points of view. The parking lot is big enough, but you have to pay. Entrance is paid at the entrance and access is fast, especially during the week. I also tried on the weekend, but it was crowded and there was a long queue at the entrance. Several sports can be played inside (boating, billiards). There is also an amphitheater where various shows are held. The elevators are usually very crowded, especially when going up, but you can also go down/up the stairs if you are in very good physical condition.

Absolutely worth visiting this amazing historical salt mine in Turda, near Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Contrary to online descriptions the centre cavity is not an actual 'bells and whistles' theme park (thankfully) but a thoughtfully and beautifully engineered exhibit, salvaged for prosterity. There are little row boats for hire at the base water cavity, a small ferris wheel, mini golf and table tennis along with a souvenir kiosk. No food or beverages are available at the base so ensure to bring water. There is a small cafe upstairs at the entrance. Be aware that there are at least 200 narrow stairs to negotiate within very confined spaces. Not recommended for those with health concerns or lacking adequate fitness (no offence ), especially when walking back up. Alternatively, there is a small lift but the queue and wait time can be very long. Wear sensible footwear for slippery surfaces and consider taking a lightweight sweater as the temperature is a little chilly. There is a health professional situated at the site for safety and/or a blood pressure test prior to descending if you suffer from hypertension but not compulsory, of course Comute by car or research the special 20 seat mini transit bus that departs from Cluj-Napoca in the city. Pay the driver $15 Leiu (as of July 2023). No need to book. "First in first serve". The bus is not part of the regular metro service and the pick up point is unfortunately unmarked. Suggest visiting very early in the day as the crowds make it more challenging walking up and down the steep stair cavities. Highly recommend a visit to this stunning and beautifully preserved salt mine in respect to the people and animals who laboured tirelessly in days gone by. 🙏👍

This is an incredible place, impressive for its size. Going down the stairs you can see the engraving of the years, which shows the levels of development of this incredible salt mine. It is very difficult to imagine that this was done by humans. Unfortunately, I really didn't like the commercial part of this space, since most of the objects such as minigolf, ferris wheel, liquor bar and other similar attractions are not related to the theme of the salt mine. This place is worth a visit. It is better to do it on weekdays, as there is a crowd on holidays and weekends.

It was truly an amazing experience. There is so much to do and see at the very old salt mine started in 1690. The 2 levels that people are allowed to access are spectacular. There are even games at attractions to enjoy while on both levels. You can even ride a ferris wheel, play pool, play ping pong and so many other things. This trip is a must experience. It's a wonderful place to visit and I'm told that the salt air is good for your health. It's gets chilly so some people might need a sweater. I brought one but didn't need it. Please see this if you can.

Turda Salt Mine is considered the most interesting one among salt mines in Romania. You can go down by a glass-windowed elevator or by stairs. I was unlucky to visit it on a Saturday during vacation period therefore it was extremely crowded. I used the stairs on both ways (going down and up). Inside there is a souvenir shop, a Ferris Wheel, playgrounds and a small lake. The temperature is around 12°C degrees so make sure you have an extra jacket.

Nice place but the ques at the elevator were long. There is always an option for the stairs but with 2 small kids it's not that fun to take the stairs. Also would suggest to buy the entrance tickets online nonetheless they only allow for one ticket option at the time so if you need to buy tickets for adults and children then you need to do 2 transactions.

Magnificent views, the salt aroma is very enjoyable. Things to consider: when there are a lot of visitors, it can be a tight squeeze on the steps between floors, the lifts have long lines and the boat ride can be nice but seems a bit unnecessary as you only go around in a small circle.

Beautiful place to visit. A lot of walking, and a lot of stairs. Please wear comfortable shoes, and bring water with you. The line is long to get on elevator. But use the stairs, it's very tight and it gets crowded. Enjoy the view. And 1 more thing, you will definitely get your exercise in here!😄

Lots of parking spaces outside, by far one of the most beautiful saltmine in Romania also Europe. Entrance very modern and organized, bunch of stuffs for tourists inside from the souvenir shop ; books, maps, pictures, even salt. Boat trip is also very unique. Must be visited at least once in a lifetime.

Crazy amazing salt mine that is worth to see 🤩 but it’s not really an amusement park. 🥲 The photos promise more and look like more than it really is… it’s just the light installations that make it look so interesting in the pictures. It’s more of a sitting park than an amusement park.💡 The ferris wheel is broken right now and in renovation. 🎡 One more thing that bothered me is that you have to pay for everything extra… you already pay 10€ per person at the entrance and then you have to pay for everything you want to do extra. 🎟️ AND ONLY CASH ⚠️💰 if you don’t have cash you can’t do anything there except to breathe the healty air. ⚠️ But the salt mine is a natural beauty and amazing so it’s worth a visit anyway though the amusement park is just a marketing bait. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I gave three stars for the salt pan, but for those responsible for the organization - I think it is the responsibility of the mayor's office - it does not deserve a single star. Everything is very expensive, as if they want to put tourists on the run.

Totally different with other popular salt mines in Austria or Poland for example. Very interesting to play little sports underneath and boating in the lake -100 meters. Even spending long time waiting for the elevator but it won’t bother the experience.

The mine is in itself impressive, with two main "rooms", incredible colors on the walls, an underground lake. But we didn't like the whole "attraction park" thing the built there. It's ugly, make the cave noisy with loud kids running around, and completely spoil the beauty of the cave. Still worth the visit, but they shouldn't have done that to the salina.

Absolutely impressive location. They used a former salt mine and build a small funpark in it. The dimensions are incredible. You can find information signs throughout the entire mine and you can even visit a salt chamber for a spa treatment. Salina Turda is well directed from Turda, it is good to find. Enough parking lots are available.

If you arrive in Romania, the Turda salt mine is a place to see! It is a spectacular place where you can walk for a few hours without getting bored! It is a magical place from which you will leave with sensational pictures. Have fun!

Would highly recommend visiting! Getting to know a little bit of the history of Turda was amazing! To see how big they made this mine in only a couple of years and see some of the methods they used for getting salt out of the ground before the advanced machinery we have now was very neat. They’ve also turned the bottom into a nice little amusement area with rides for kids of all ages and even bowling and other things to keep adults entertained. Definitely worth visiting at least once if you’re in town!

2 to 3 hour visit. Wonderful place especially to chill a bit in summer days due to the lower temperature ~10 degrees C. A great example of the majesty of mother nature. Only downside is the long queues for the elevator, due to covid which limits the number of persons that can use it to 3. There is only one elevator. From souvenirs to boat rides, it is a wonderful escape from a hot summer day.

Really beautiful salt mine. They say it's the most beautiful underground place in the world and I have to agree. This salt mine is truly magical. The mine has two entrances, a new one and an old one. We went through the old entrance where there is plenty of free parking. The first part is a several hundred meter long corridor that leads to the main part of the mine. You can then go down the stairs or take the elevator down to a depth of several hundred meters below the surface. The lower part of the mine is designed as an entertainment area - you can go boating, play billiards or table football, ride a ferris wheel, play mini golf, etc. Refreshments are also available.

Visited on 20 sept 2021 .No queues , i paid the fee and entered without waiting in line (there were no queues). Entrance fee was 10 euros (very cheap) . The site is unique in the world . The mine is very popular so expect many tourists , people wore covid masks . There is parking and lots of shops in the parking . CAREFULL if you park outside the police will fine you .There are lifts , but you can use stairs , also clean wc . There are a lot of activities , pool , bowling , even a farris wheel . Shops with cheap souvenirs (magnet 1 euro , a map of romania 5 euros , glass of salt 1 euro , salt container for salting food - 1 euro ) . Salt was everywhere , after a while you coud smell it .Visiting hours 9-17 every day .Probably 2-3 hours visiting time , i spent 10-15 minutes waiting in line for the elevators . Stairs are 2 sets of 13 floors .

Free parking available at the old entrance (in the town) if you're happy to walk a bit further through the tunnels and bring some cash for activities - only the main entrance fee can be paid by card.

I was here with my 9 year old son. We left from Sibiu and got here roughly at 10:30. It would have been better to arrive an hour earlier as there were already long lines. Parking was a simple 4lei/hour. Thankfully tickets were bought online the night before. Don't forget to get the e-tickets from the link as they are not included in the email. Entry was a simple matter of skipping the line and scanning the barcode. Stairs were the only possible way up and down as the lineup for the elevators were easily a 30min wait if not a couple hours We had fun with the 6 hole mini golf. For families with small kids it is nice that they have a little kids playground. We didn't use it, Billiards would have been fun, but didn't try it. We did go down further to the deeper mine with the boats. Boats are a bit awkward to use with the big oars, but it was fun. Visited more of the upstairs after and saw more about how the whole mine worked on horse power. I've never been in a salt mine or any mine this size so your mileage may vary, but I found it interesting and a worth while experience. We spent about 2 hours grim arrival to departure. If we Cosby have to drive another hour and a half we would have probably puttered more. Too bad Turda's main street is so horrendously torn up. Want much else to do in town.

Nice place. The lighting inside the mine deep tunnels and depth look great. Fun place to spend time and click Instagram worthy pics :D

The place has two salt lakes, the facilities and place is generally well kept. The food however is bad, consisting of frozen and then fried food. Drinks are quite steep in price, 6RON for a 0.5L bottle of water.

The place is absolutely gorgeous BUT they should not advertise it as wheelchair friendly. Is ridiculous that for going to the mines you need to take at east 100 steps and some of them really old.

Touristic sheet. Lack of useful information about salt, mining, area around. But tennis, souvenirs, insane lines to a really few elevators. Unpleasant staff. But the place itself is cool, though.

Pretty amazing.. and although great for families... the history and museum elements do now lose-out somewhat. Five-stars all the same 😎

Beautiful salt mine, great cool place to spend your afternoon. Lots of stairs but you could take the lift too. Have your cameras ready when you take the lift

It was an awesome experience with my family. You will have to wait for the lift if you’re not on the fit side. Do take cash as gift shop does insist on paying with cash payments.

Unique natural wonder worth exploring and a great place to get your steps in if you want to forgo the elevators. I appreciated the years of site blueprints lining the walls showing the history of the site.

Amazing place! Impressive scale of mines! Cool illumination! Feelings like you are in some space station! But there are a lot of people, so it’s better not to go here on weekends, you won’t enjoy waiting in lines. And it needs to have more information and description of locations. And there is no possibility to eat inside, food is prohibited (considering you can spend a half of a day here, it's hard not to have a snack at least). Also we expected the air inside to be fresher, saltier, but it smelled of dampness a bit. But overall it's a great place, definitely worth a visit at least once!

Old mine that is repurposed into an amusement park. There is some information provided about how they used to mine for salt here. In ons of the rooms you can rent a little boat to go on the underground lake. There is parking enough right next to the entrance. The parking price was 5lei/h.

Very nice salt pools (semi-heated) after going out of the salt mine (or, in our case, after not waiting what seemed like the hour-long cue). The pools are nice and healthy, fun to float in. One downside is the lack of shadow - there are some benches around each pool but they are limited.

Terrific!!!!! I wish we come earlier and spent more time here! Stunning salt mine with a river you can have a boat ride, or fair wheel, mini golf, ping pong, souveriers and separate rooms you can take photos and enjoy learning about this mine. You have to pay extra for specific activity you choose, but event walk around and breath salts and take pictures here is just an amazing as it could ever be in mines! Must visit while in Romania 🇷🇴

👍👍 The story of the death of Mihai Viteazu after a glorious victory is very tragic. You can also read it at the monument at this monastery. The enemies, former allies, killed him by surprise using mercenaries and then disrespected his body. The body was buried here, the head was taken to Wallachia and...

👍👍 Wow!!! This was a great and unexpected experience. A lot of items displayed dating back thousands of years ago. Excelent display of information about many items: the name of the characters in one big painting, how the columns would have looked if you have the top of it. Great display of the cerami...

🫤 It's free, but not set up at all and a bit hard to get there. You might pass by because there's no sign to tell you you're there. There's no guide, no cards to explain what you see, no trails. Might seem boring to those who want to discover, but don't know much about the Roman architecture. I hope t...
