Had booked afternoon tea for four. Staff were stretched as there was an event on but we shown to a table in a room with only another table being used so no concerns re covid. Large pot of tea and one of coffee, the afternoon tea consisted of sandwiches cakes and scones which we enjoyed. The hotel is looking tired and dated but is in the process of being renovated. The price was good and I would recommend it.

Nice clean room. Good price fire one night stay. Hotel needs renovation. Green colour on the walls at the corridors. Who chooses this kind of colour it should be light colour which looks fresh and clean. Swimming pool and facilities around showers cloak rooms corridors and doors need renovation. Breakfast selection was poor but we were not hungry. We have to wait quite long for refilling empty plates and jugs with coffee and juices. We have to wait for clean plates and glasses. Tall blond lady at the restaurant seemed to be a bit irritated when we politely asked for food drinks or glasses and plates. But I think it’s her job to serve guests isn’t it? She should learn from staff at reception and swimming pool even lovely polite cleaners ( greetings to nice Polish lady who was cleaning first floor). This hotel is not bad not bad at all. Price is adequate to the quality. We can recommend this hotel for one night stay. This hotel has got huge potential, good location ( actually I could not see any river from my room but it’s not a problem) nice building but it needs better management and a bit of money for renovation and fixing stuff around.

Our room was ok, nice and warm very comfortable bed, tea+coffee making facility. Evening meal was ok not a huge choice , plenty of staff clearing dishes away. Breakfast was a disaster, not enough tea, coffee, shortage of cups + bread for toast, only marmalade no jam. Kept running out of bacon + eggs, not enough staff for the amount of people staying at the hotel. Quite a few people complain about how cold there rooms were?

Surprisingly I really enjoyed my night here. The room was spotlessly clean. Superb view out the window. Great sized TV. Dinner was OK. Breakfast was good. WiFi was useless in the room. Not enough coffee and sugars. Bed was comfy enough, slept in a lot worse. Lacking electrical sockets near bed for. Charging a phone. Only one electric socket for kettle and had to sit this on the floor to use. Would I stay here again? Yeah it's not bad for the money. Oh.... Very friendly staff here too.

First room was very dirty, no phone only 1 double socket. Had a room change, slightly better, only 1 socket again, 3 beds squashed into a room meant for 2 beds. Bedside lights were not working. In the morning going for breakfast, had to duck under a maintenance panel that had fallen from the wall, was still down a hour after it had been reported. The only good thing was the staff, their service was excellent, very pleasant and helpful.

Spent a night with a friend using the Wowcher deal. The place was quite dated and in need of TLC but the room was clean, the dinner + breakfast included were delicious (definitely didn't get the 'microwave meal' vibe that others have mentioned) and it was the warmest and most inviting pool I have ever been in. We were a bit disappointed at not being able to use jacuzzi due to renovations but sauna was open. The deal was well worth the money paid and we would definitely consider doing it again. The main point is not to expect more than a 3 star hotel and you won't be disappointed.

Great place. The shrieking imbecilic biggots that lurk outside on a sunday somewhat ruin the tranquility of the place and the reputation of erskine

Easily the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Came for my birthday with my partner. Checkin process was fine apart from not being told anything other than our room number (not given any info on breakfast times etc). When we got to our room we were disappointed in how unclean it was. Stains around the bathroom sink, black hairs in numerous places, a dead spider on the carpet, a couple of live bugs on the bed, a big mark on the bathroom door where someone had evidently punched it, no plug in the bath or the sink, and the list goes on. Was also disappointed to not find a TV in the room, and only one mug despite it being a double room. It honestly felt like someone just came and changed the bedding and took away any rubbish / dirty dishes then left the room as it was. The bed was like sleeping on a bed of bricks. My partner could sleep anywhere and even he couldn’t sleep, it was actually painful. Oh and the walls are so thin we could hear everything that our neighbours were doing which was fun. At least we had entertainment to substitute for the lack of TV! We were meant to stay here for two nights but one was more than enough. Would rather fork out the funds for somewhere else than suffer this another night. Maybe after the renovation and hiring cleaners who can actually clean, the hotel would be worth staying in. But right now, I would really avoid it. I stay in a lot of places and have never felt the need to leave a bad review before but this place was a real nightmare. The only saving Grace was that the one member of staff we spoke to was pleasant and maintenance did eventually bring us a bathplug and a very dusty fan when we asked (the room was insanely hot).

Was expecting the worst after reading previous posts however was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. Staff helpful and would do anything for you. Food was ample and a good variety. Fitness facilities were satisfactory. Rooms were spacious, tidy and welcoming.

On arrival the girl at reception handed us our room key and sent us on our way, we had no idea where any facilities were and we had a Wowcher deal that included dinner and complimentary wine which we had no idea how to redeem. There is only one working lift which you have to wait over 5 minutes on, pool was warm but jacuzzi and steam room were closed ‘due to maintenance’ which has apparently been going on for months, this however was not stated at the time of our booking. Dinner was absolutely shocking, we were told we were unable to get a seat as we didn’t book (nobody told us to book), so we then booked for 7:30, at 7:30 when we went for dinner we were told our booking could not be found and then asked ‘are you sure you booked’! Eventually we were given a seat, waited 15 minutes to be served, 40 minutes for our drinks, over an hour for our dinner and then our empty plates remained on our table for a further 45 minutes. When it came to our desserts being brought out, only one came out and then the other dessert when we asked where it was, they had it down as the wrong order so we waited a further 10 minutes for the other dessert (a cold piece of cake with ice cream). The atmosphere was ridiculous, everyone around us were complaining about their wait also, food was not even worth the wait, staff were completely overwhelmed! We had a voucher for our dinner and staff did not know what to do in regards to this, you could see staff panicking and all doubting themselves. Was a shambles. Room walls are paper thin, this was our first night away from our newborn and all night we could hear a screaming child through the wall. The hotel was most definitely not worth the money and we certainly will not be returning.

Very disappointed with our stay. On arrival with a party of disabled guests, we find out the lifts are not working and advised that we can use a service lift that had to accessed via back halls and the kitchen, this shocked me as I seen how untidy the areas where in fact it was disgusting to see this in the kitchen, also was a concern on our safety as was not sure what would have happened if there was a fire, I feel sorry for the staff that had to deal with the problems on our arrival, one of the party was allocated the wrong type of room that they requested and the rooms in general was at a low standard

Staff were brilliant, very friendly. Room was good for the value very clean, bathroom was clean however the bath was stained, I'm not saying it was dirty just stained. Windows should have safety latches and could use a clean. Heated Swimming pool was brilliant, however the steam room/sauna were closed and I was not aware of this untill I was in there. The grounds really need attention. Nice Hotel brilliant staff good value, I would stay again.
