It is a beautiful place to be. The nature itself is incredible in the Highlands. Loch-Lomond is giving that fascinating countryside a beautiful spot to hike through, fish and hunt. I stayed there for several days during a hunting journey, which took me to the outskirts above and around the Loch. I can definitely recommend the area, where you can find a little pub in the valley of Crianlarich named Rod & Reel as well as a little shop where you buy necessities. Give it a try and you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely breath-taking place. We sampled all weathers and thoroughly enjoyed our walking adventure. 4 days of 30k+ steps & sooo much left to discover. Must return for my wife & I. Maybe take a mountain bike/gravel bike around some of the Loch's as they're so vast, 2/3hrs walking barely covers any distance. Scotland we shall return.

National Parks Authorities and people of Scotland have preserved this most picturesque natural beauty of Mother Nature. Within the park are very pleasing people and their villages. Scottish people are very very special. The Highlands and Forests of Trossachs are Divinely for Yogis & Yoginis and natural beauty lovers. However, one should go prepared as these are Forests in the mortal world. Be prepared for Midges and carry a First Aid kit. πŸ™πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈπŸ§˜β€β™€οΈπŸŒ„πŸŒ…πŸŒŒβœ¨πŸŒŠπŸŒ»πŸˆπŸ•πŸ¦šπŸ¦…πŸ•ŠπŸ¬πŸ•‰β˜Έβœ‘βœοΈβ˜ͺ️

Very wonderful and a perfect place for healing with family, especially the cruise, I highly recommend to take the first trip in 10.15 because it feels like a private cruise hahaha. Also please have a sips of coffee, I ordered mocha and it was πŸ’―. The fresh air, beautiful paths along the way to the castle.

We live in this park and we could never ever explore all the amazing natural beauty that it has to offer us in a lifetime! Come explore it and Step Off The World for a while. This park will help you see nature and Scotland in a whole new meaningful way….I promise!

This are is simply beautiful, unfortunately I went on a bad rainy day. Despite this it didn't ruin the fun I had. There's a lot of hills which can be tricky. But when you go further up, everything just opens up & the views are just spectacular.

Stopped off in Balmaha, dinner at the Oak Tree Inn & stayed overnight. Next morning climbed Conic Hill, bit steep in parts but pathway in progress - views over the Loch & beyond amazing - well worth the climb. St Mocha coffee shop also worth a visit.

Gorgeous, stunning! Even with the paths you feel as if you're in the wild. Was a bit disappointed as I didn't see ONE werewolf! 🀣 Nah, I'm only joking, we did get to see some wildlife: robins, hare, deer and beautiful trees: Sitka Spruce, Scoth Pine and more. Everything was clearly sign-posted which made everything so much easier to find.... something we can learn from for our English parks and historic sites. Remember to respect the place you're visiting and leave nothing behind.

I didn't really spend time in the park but it was the country side that I found was so beautiful. The town's along the way and tea shops. Oh don't for get to see Hamish.

Lovely park. Took our granddaughter on a walk through. Saw ducks, swans and had a great walk along the river. Great for tiring her out!

I could say it's the most beautiful place in Scotland but that would be unfair to the rest of the highlands yes it's amazing and unspoilt but a victim of its fame many equally beautiful places that are not overrun with tourists and campervans that are much more tranquil

You will need to be at car park very early as it fills up very quickly, and may impact on your walking time. Not to expensive for a change Β£3 all day. If you are walking up to the top waterproof clothing is a must as weather conditions change very quickly. Had glorious sunshine to start then rain followed by hailstones with biter fully cold winds. Views are stunning. A real good day out.

A scenic national park with great view of Loch Lomond. The field in front of Balloch Castle is gorgeous. The Walled Garden is full of beautiful flowers. It is a good place to go for a hike, or let your kids to walk around and play around. There are free car parks accessible to the town centre of Balloch. You can buy necessities there before start your walk or hike.

The area is huge, but you know when you arrive, as the landscape changes, to the gateway of the Highlands. The lochs are abundant, clean & stunning at any time of the year, with golden & sea eagles, buzzards, ospreys, red squirrels & plenty of deer around too. The lochs connected to the Clyde, have regular porpoise & dolphins too. If you’re lucky, you will see a submarine, the great power that will never be used.

One of the most beautiful national parks Ive ever been to! We came here in a large van which we put my power chair into. Definitely recommend getting some form of accessible vehicle to come here! There are a lot of nature walks and falls!

As good as it gets! Giant locks, beautiful mountains, amazing vistas. Beautiful motorways and drives. Swimming in loch Lomond was an absolute dream. Heads up, the depth falls off pretty dramatically after a brief shallow section along the shores.

Plan ahead if visiting this big beautiful loch, research interesting spots to head for and avoid the busy West side. It has very few roads for getting around, and attracts lots of visitors to the few official car parks and stopping places down by the water. We were foolishly only on the busy West side, following the A82 down the lake trying to find nice places to explore. Don't make this mistake. If you want to visit the pretty little town of Luss and go for a boat trip it's the only route in. Otherwise this busy road has little access to the stunning scenery and landscape and limited views for much of the drive alongside the water. The Trossachs require a big one road in and out trip into the hills and mountains East of Loch Lomond, we'll definitely be exploring that side on our next visit. Travelling from outside the area can require long drives, so make sure you head for the best parts first. Plan what you want to do in the Park and don't waste too much time in tourist carparks like we did. It's not really a single day trip if you want to see and explore the wilder parts. South West of the lake is hidden inside private golf courses and hotels. You find yourself some distance away on the A82, we were driving about with little to see from the road. You then reach the congested town of Balloch at its tip. Don't bother stopping here, just drive through and up into the Trossachs or explore the East side of the loch.

Lots of mountains and some humongous lochs. The Ben Lomond walk was more difficult than I expected, but the views from the top (on a clear day) were stunning; the scale of Loch Lomond is revealed from above. Visited in late April seemingly just before the midges woke up. This area was noticeably busier than Scotland's other National Park at this time, but still far from busy. Photos here from: Loch Lomond, Falls of Falloch, Ben Lomond and Loch Katrine.

It is named after Loch Lomond, the largest freshwater lake in Scotland, and offers a diverse range of habitats, wildlife, and landscapes. The park is a popular destination for outdoor activities and has a rich cultural heritage. It is easily accessible by car and public transport.

Experience a great view and crystal clear waters! We took a day trip here with our 2 dogs, perfect to take a picnic or even have a bbq and make a day of it. There is a nature trail which goes all the way around the loch and a large portion of beach if you fancied relaxing instead. There is a free car park as-well as free toilets, and at certain parts they do a variety of water sports.

Loch Lomond Shore is stunning. It has been sympathetically developed with shops, cafΓ©'s and a beautiful stone built Sea World. I didn't know what to expect so I was very pleasantly surprised. The people are friendly.

What an beautiful place, never did hard climbing like this but worth, unfortunately the weather wasn't great so we couldn't see from the top but one you get to the top you definitely will be satisfied with it! Also there 2 path you can take, easy but long or hard but short we took hard it's little dangerous if you don't have experience but good if your with a guide.

Holds lots of water and is surrounded by great mountains and scenery. As far as I am concerned, Lake Lomand is the start of Scotland. Lots of places to visit on the Western side and even some hiding to the East. Good roads on both sides with some of Scotland best scenery. You can even get a boat ride if that is your thing.

An amazingly beautiful place and a must see, while in Scotland. Many options of things to do, and places to see. Extremely tranquil setting.. Visited in August, on a perfect sunny and not too hot weather day. The locals were friendly and, as I'm an avid hiker, they guided me to off the beaten path locations to visit (the not so "touristy"). Every turn was mesmerizing. Will definitely be back!

Went camping and fishing at Lochearnhead, a beautiful location and an enjoyable time spent with my son. It's a shame that so many other people who come to do the same. Leave an astonishing amount of rubbish behind them ?. I spent over half an hour picking up rubbish and putting it in the bin provided which is within 10 metres of were the rubbish lay strewn and not only that there's 2 bins situated at the parking bay. These people should be ashamed of themselves.

This is an enormous National park area within easy access of Glasgow and Stirling. It is home to Loch Lomond and Ben Lomond along with many other beautiful Lochs and Munros (mountains over 914M/ 3000ft). I obviously cannot do justice to the stunning beauty and the hundreds of great places to visit within the park. Books have been written by the dozens. My advice, get yourself there, whether your interests are walking, climbing, Kayaking, photography or just relaxing. Just go visit, you'll be glad.

  • 5/5 Fiona 3 years ago on Google
The national park is an area to explore over a long weekend or day trips over the years. Don't wait for a sunny morning as we often experience many different weathers in one day, so just get out and have fun.

Staying on the east coast of the lake, take a narrow road where two cars are barely there for about 30 minutes, and which ends in a parking lot where it is possible to set off on foot. Absolutely incredible! Highly recommend it, specially to wild camp. It was our first time trying wild camping in Loch Earn and what an experience! So peaceful, wild and safe all at the same time. The loch is so beautiful, we got to go in the water and it was cold but the sun helped us dry up and warm up afterwards. Perfect day, we were so lucky for it, it was dry and sunny. But please keep it clean and don't leave your rubbish behind as we did encounter some leftovers which we collected, there are bins provided in the car parks nearby. ?

The Paper Caves on West shore of Loch Eck. Park the car at Benmore Gardens and walk along the shore road, past the hydro plant at the foot of the Loch. The track up is not signposted, but its just north of the Coylet on the opposite bank and is the only obvious track right up the hillside, off what appears to Abe a layby in the forestry track. If you get to Bernice, you've gone too far. The Paper Caves are really a chasm that has opened up as the cliff face has sheared off from the rest of the hillside. The Earl of Argyll supposedly hid all of his legal documents here so they couldn't confiscate his estates when he fell foul of the crown in the 1680s. A nice walk out and a fun scramble up a moderately challenging track to the caves. A great afternoon out if the weather holds!

  • 5/5 Katie H. 3 years ago on Google
The scenery is outstanding - even in the rain. The little rest stop at the hydro generating station has a wee cafe and views down the loch. In season a boat around the Loch goes from here.

Serene lake. Leisure centre 45 minute trek along the path if you fancy hiring a canoe. No shops near by but you can make a day out of walking to the closest pub and back. Great if you want to escape people or the hustle and bustle of a city.

  • 5/5 John R. 10 months ago on Google
A fantastic place, suitable for all manner of outdoor activity. Unfortunately a great deal of the accessible shoreline at the southern end of Loch Lomond and other southern lochs get very busy during sunny weekends and holidays over the summer, so plan accordingly. Luss is pretty horrible on those days, and the waters and atmosphere spoiled by the jetski crew, so explore the rest of the national park area if you can. Needless to say, the further from the Glasgow conurbation you go, the quieter it gets, but the summer midge plague gets worse, so it's a balancing act 😁 Be aware, Ticks are prevalent throughout the national park, so be thorough when checking after a day out.

One of the most gorgeous places in the highlands of Glasgow. If you're on a tight schedule you should go to Balloch Castle and can enjoy the scenic and essence of Loch Lomond. A suggestion would be to take a hike and make camping plans when the weather is nice and sunny.
